Great American Bash 98 The Great American Bash 98 Barbarian defeated Kanyon on the pre-show. The Great American Bash opened with Mike Tenay and Bobby Hennen at the announces table without Tony S. Suddenly the crowd erupts when Adam Sandler comes out through the entrance. Adam waves a few times before heading over to the announcers desk. He sets down and puts on the headphones. Tenay and Bobby welcome Adam to the announcers table as the new colour commentator. Benoit vs Booker T Booker T was able to take a 3-1 lead in the best of seven series only to lose the lead to Benoit where he has tied it at 3. In a close match, Benoit was able to lock on a submission to take the series. Benoit will now face Fit Finlay for the WCW TV Championship. Stallone is backstage talking how the nWo will not stand a chance and that he has always dreamed about becoming WWF Champion and that he will do so tonight. Lex Lugar defeated Raven in a deceant match. Next Jericho was able to defend his championship against Kidman. Ray Traylor who hasn't really been heard from comes out and tells everyone that he is WCW for life and that he will face anyone from the nWo. Bret Hart comes out to accept. Hart defeated Ray Traylor Fit Finlay grabs the mic as he enters the ring and tells Benoit he has no chance at taking the TV championship. Benoit defeats Finlay for the WCW Tv Championship. Benoit celebrates after the win when Jericho comes and and celebrates with him. In an outstanding match. Sting and DDP where able to defeat the Outsiders for the WCW Tag Team Championships. Stallone is warming up backstage when Hogan comes in and attacks him before refs and staff come in to pull Hogan off. Before his match with Eddie Guerrero, Savage explains that the nWo will be taking over and that WCW will no longer be a thing. Savage states he is going to start with Eddie. In a shocking finish, Eddie Guerrero was able to shock the world and pin Savage 1,2,3. Eddie escaped quick before Savage lost it and started to destroy the ring before other members of the nWo came out to calm him down. Backstage Eddie brags to the camera quickly before taking off running with his bags. WCW TV Champ Benoit and WCW Cruiserweight Champ Jericho tells everyone they have formed a team and stable called the Canadian Rising and that they plan on taking the WCW Tag Team titles. Goldberg defeats the Giant. During the match The Giant suffered a tail bone fracture, but will not miss any time. Eric and Hogan while walking to the ring state there is no way that a movie actor is going to come in and beat a legend like Hogan. Hogan defeats Stallone to retain the WCW World Championship. Breaking News WCW.com is reporting the hiring of Adam Sandler. The story does not mention what his role will be, but he will be at The Great American Bash 98.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> Thunder 2</p><p> </p><p> WCW Thunder starts with a video package of Ted Turner arriving with DDP and Goldberg, then suddenly flashes to Sylvester Stallone standing over DDP and Goldberg after fighting Bischoff and the nWo off.</p><p> </p><p> The camera pans in on Ted Turner Stallone, Sting, DDP, Goldberg, team WCW. Turner explains that when Bischoff signed his name for WCW, it did not mean he would be sole owner of it. </p><p> </p><p> nWo theme hits and Bischoff comes out with Hogan, Hart, and the Giant. </p><p> </p><p> Bischoff questions Turner and told him to get to the point.</p><p> </p><p> "See, what you signed did not have all the papers in it Eric," Turner said. "I'm sorry, I must be getting bad in my old age, but there were pages left out, stating that this would be a partnership and a war."</p><p> </p><p> Eric of course gets furious at Turner and starts in on him but Turner cuts him off.</p><p> </p><p> "Look," he said. "If you don't like it, then the contract is null and void. You may ask why I did it this way. Reason, to make wrestling better. Eric, it is either going to be you or me, one of us will own 100 percent of this company, but until the war is over, you are only 50 percent owner!"</p><p> </p><p> The crowd erupts as Eric and the nWo throw a fit as the Nitro goes to break.</p><p> </p><p> First match of the night we saw Chris Benoit tie the best of seven series at 3. The final match will take place Sunday at Bash at the Beach with the winner facing Fit Finley later that night.</p><p> </p><p> Chris Jericho made defense number 2 of the counterweight championship against Ultimo Dragon.</p><p> </p><p> Nash and Savage of the Wolfpack confront Sting backstage asking why he was standing with WCW.</p><p> </p><p> "Because WCW is where my heart lies," Sting stated.</p><p> </p><p> Nash and Savage look disappointed and just turn and walk away. </p><p> </p><p> Eddie Guerrero defeated Davey Boy Smith.</p><p> </p><p> Team WCW and the nWo both turn up lawyers and begin to argue. Both lawyers have to yell to get both Ted and Eric's attention before explaining Ted is right. That the only way anyone will be able to take full control is to win the War.</p><p> </p><p> Raven comes out before his match and tells everyone how good he is and that he is the future of WCW or nWo, or whatever, "Quote the Raven, Never More."</p><p> </p><p> Raven defeated Ray Traylor in a decent match.</p><p> </p><p> Coming back from commercial we see Hogan standing on one side of the door with Hart standing on the other with members of the nWo and Wolfpack both going into a locker room. Hart and Hogan go in after everyone enters and closes the door behind them.</p><p> </p><p> Goldberg and Stallone defeat Hogan and hart after another commercial break just to be beat down after the bell rings with both the nWo and Wolfpack attacking Stallone and Goldberg. Sting, Booker, and other members of WCW come run out to help for the save. <p>The day after Nitro, WCW was able to catch up with Sylvester Stallone at WCW headquarters located in Atlanta. He was heard saying Ted Turner is the one who came to him...</p><p> </p><p> "I was setting at home last week," Stallone began. "I received a call from Ted, he told me what was going on with Bischoff and asked for my help. Ted has always been good to me and I had nothing really going on. I told him I was in and was on the next flight to meet with him."</p><p> </p><p> We are said we will find out more on this situation come Thunder. Stay tuned.</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> Nitro 2</p><p> </p><p> Nitro opened up with Bischoff, Hogan, Hall, Hart, and the Giant. Eric stated coming up at The Great American Bash WCW will die, and the nWo will take over. He went on to explain how he is getting everything printed and trademarks signed.</p><p> </p><p> Chris Benoit was able to gain a victory to stay alive making the series 3-2 Booker T.</p><p> </p><p> The nWo is walking backstage when a limo pulls up. First comes DDP then Goldberg. A few moments pass before Ted Turner himself steps out of the car.</p><p> </p><p> Ted Turner says he has news for Eric, and he will be explaining on Thunder, but then stated that tonight Goldberg and DDP will be facing Hogan and Hart. </p><p> </p><p> After a decent match between Eddie G. and Raven, Chris Jericho comes out before his match and explains how important he is to the future of pro wrestling. </p><p> </p><p> Jericho defeated Chavo Jr to retain the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.</p><p> </p><p> Chris Benoit is walking backstage with his bag when out of a door pops Booker T. Booker assaults Benoit to the point of needing medical attention.</p><p> </p><p> Once again Nash and the Wolfpack ask Sting to join. Sting explains that he loves Nash, but he just doesn't know right now.</p><p> </p><p> Sting and Nash defeat Hall and the Giant. Nash kicks Hall out of the ring and grabs a Wolfpack shirt from the apron. He holds it out for Sting, but Sting roles out of the ring and backs up the ramp. </p><p> </p><p> While warming up, Goldberg told DDP that WCW needs to live, and there is only one way that is going to happen. That is to take the nWo for good.</p><p> </p><p> Goldberg and DDP defeat Hogan and Hart, but once the bell rings, all hell breaks loose. News: Just one week owning WCW, Bischoff has already made some major changes. Thunder will now be seen on TNT Live every week on Thursdays. Bischoff talked with Time Werner and made a deal to move Thunder from TBS. Also changing, Thunder will now be one of WCW main shows instead of "B" show of sorts. In some big news, insiders are stating Hogan has just over five months left on his contract. Reports are making their way in that WCW may not end up extending Hogans contract. Again, these are just rumors. It is also being reported that WCW may open a development promotion to help train younger stars before they end up on the main roster.

Eric talks to Bret how he hates Goldberg, so he books Hart vs Goldberg for tonight with the US title on the line.</p><p> </p><p> Hall and Nash went to a no contest as the match got out of control.</p><p> </p><p> nWo Wolfpack - Nash, Savage, Lex - ask Sting to join, but Sting does not give them a response. </p><p> </p><p> Chris Jericho defeated Dean Malenko for the cruiser-weight championship</p><p> </p><p> Booker T went up 3 wins to 1 over Chris Benoit.
