I think they do on TEW 20. Some companies will start some new ones but for the most part I'm pretty sure they work for AI companies.

Problem we now have is the tribalism has gotten so bad that even a fan of AEW or WWE can't make any criticism of the company they like without the feral diehards having psychotic breaks and nuclear meltdowns. Social Media is just an absolute cesspool with these toxic trolls. The ECW fans may have been rabid back in the day, but even they had more class than certain modern fans have been showing on social media lately with their disgusting comments.
Some AEW and WWE "fans" are killing other fans interest as they are not allowed to suggest that they did not like even 5 minutes of a 2 hour show or they are bullied and harassed by these scumbags to the point they don't feel comfortable talking about wrestling at all. That is why the tribalism nonsense needs to stop. There's nothing wrong with a bit of friendly joking around but there also needs to be mutual respect that people will like what they want and have different opinions. Unfortunately many people nowadays think having an opinion is the same as having a personality and I tend to give those people a wide berth as you may as well shout at pigeons in Trafalgar Square.
Anyway... I'm going to go back to celebrating Derbys promotion!!!! 😁

Let me make this clear -I DO NOT hate AEW - I was at one time a massive supporter of what they were doing but I also like a good story as to why your big stars are fighting and right now their biggest storyline is "I want the title". I've said it before, TK started off playing on Pro mode but has recently switched it to Sandbox mode. They need to ignore what WWE are doing (they will never achieve what WWE has - not for at least 15-20 years), write some longterm stories with people who don't get injured every 6 months and really give their product a push by streamlining that roster. Yes exhibition matches should still appear in the midcard and as a way to help elevate new stars but start using the big stars in proper feuds - like they did with MJF - that don't feel like a one and done "dream match". AEW needs to get away from pleasing just a niche fanbase and try to grow it into a proper TV wrestling show... anyway I've rambled long enough.

To be fair I don't remember adding him (shocker I know) but I think he has been given Art Barr type stats because both used the name Beetlejuice so may have been some confusion(?) I've never found any info on him really (think he died in early 2000's) but thats about it.

VERSION 10 is now up for download in post #1!
I didn't get everything in that I wanted but the thing with this mod is, if I kept putting it off to add something else, I'd never release it! This will be the last release of Diablo X (at least for 6 months - likely 12). Unless of course there are any glaring errors picked up in which case a hotfix may be released.
Also in the first post is a quote with everything new/fixed in this version, along with notes on why I decided certain things within the mod (such as ages).

Wrestling is full of ego - always has been and always will be due to the nature of the profession and these things are going to happen when arrogance and ego collide (it's inevitable). I've seen more violence in a pub fight where the 2 guys then shook hands afterwards than what is being shown as Tony Khan "fearing for his life"! Clearly he doesn't go to any pubs after Fulham matches!
Unfortunately, as someone who likes parts of both WWE and AEW at the moment, watching (supposed) adults on both sides try to blame one or the other is pathetic. This tribalism is Caveman levels of stupid.
Should Punk have choked Perry? No. Should Jack Perry have goaded Punk into doing so? Again no. It is literally handbags and people are acting like its Bruiser Brodie stabbed to death level of news. No one died, Punk got his release and Jack Perry is gets to pretend he got to NJPW on his own and no doubt a future Elite spot is waiting upon his return.
Unfortunately showing this footage didn't bring back the fans who Punk brought in. All it did is give more ammo to the likes of Bischoff and Cornette for their podcasts.

I will attempt to get the majority of characters in (Flintstones, Jetsons, etc...).
Once added, I will do a few more tweaks and then I should be ready for a release. Still no definitive date, but I can't imagine it being too much longer.

I have mainly been adding some new venues to the data. I forgot to list which I had added but the number is now around 600 (was originally in 400's) so it is over 100 new venues/locations to hold your shows.
I have also added Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hemione Granger and Ginny Weasley to the data. They have been given their ages from Deathly Hallows part 2 (so 17/18) as I thought this would be the best age to use. I am not a fan of Harry Potter so those 4 will likely be the only ones until I do more research on the franchise. I may add a promotion based on them in a later release but for now just those 4.
I am debating adding some HB characters to the data as Commentators/Announcers. Characters such as Yogi Bear & Boo Boo, The Flintstones (Fred, Wilma, Barney & Betty) etc... or even a full company based off of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons. Although given they have been merged in WB Animation studios, I may have them work alongside the Looney Tunes promotion.
Anyway - I still have lots of ideas for this mod and want at least 1 more company added before release.

Notes (mainly age decisions): Wrestlers in WWS do not have their real ages. This is because it is several era's smashed together so most are either in their prime but younger than they would be in 2016 in real life.
Some characters have had their ages reduced due to them appearing in 90's games/cartoons etc. This was a decision I made because if I did everyones correct age, we'd just have a database full of 40+ year old workers.
Star Wars ages were probably the most complex to get into the game. I have basically used a "timeline" of events throughout Star Wars, and switched out their dates with ours (for example... 57 BBY the year Obi Wan Kenobi is born is 1954. 7 ABY the year Kylo Ren was born (and when this mod starts) is 2016). The Mandalorian series started in 9BY (2018) so the characters will be slightly younger than they are in the show.
Soul Calibur ages are (loosely) based on the ages the characters were in Soul Calibur VI (which is set 1 year before Soul Calibur). I've tried to keep them as close to that game as possible - but this means that some characters may not have debuted yet (hence the overhaul to the whole promotion). If people are missing from the starting roster, chances are it is only because they have not yet debuted.
Virtua Fighter ages are based on how old the characters were in 1993. Eg: Akira Yuki will have a DOB of 1989 rather than 1968 to represent him being 26 when the game came out.
Street Fighter Ages are now based (roughly) off of how old they are in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Again, this is to fall more in line with "fun" over realism so their ages for 2016 will be whatever they were in 1994 rather than their real birth years (meaning Ryu will be 29 and not in his 50's). Some people do not have a birth year since Capcom scrapped the timeline - I have tried to base those ages off of things I've read within the previous SF timelines.
I am not a fan of Harry Potter but decided to add a few characters from the books/movies given its Pop Culture importance (and that is what this mod is mainly about). I've set the characters age to what they were in Deathly Hallows Part 2 (so Harry is 17). I could use the proper timeline from the books but that would then make Harry in his 40's and make my research pointless! This release will only have Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny. I will add more - and possibly a full promotion once I research more about it.
Rumble Roses Promotion is not just the roster for Rumble Roses. It has been fleshed out with other females from other places. (Lara Croft, Bayonetta, Jeanne, Tina Armstrong, Christie, Zoey, Rochelle, Sarah Bryant)
New Japan Women's Pro Wrestling from Wrestle Angels uses the characters from Wrestle Angels 1,2 & 3. I know there are other games but the roster was massive just using those 3 games.

I think this has been discussed before, and yes 2.5m was too much but it was so they could expand within the game which doesn't run exactly the same as the real world.
When ECW started they didn't pay for an arena (they did bar/club shows where they kept the ticket money and the bar would keep any drink money). The original ring was free as it was owned by Max Thrasher who in exchange for ring use would be booked on the shows so they got a ring and a wrestler for free essentially. Their announcer at the time wasn't paid, and neither was the person who dealt with the sound production (speakers etc were free). Tod Gordon confirmed he eventually pumped in $200,000 to expand so I will give them that much.
