  1. This thread right here should be helpful to start.

The short version is that they originally started out trying to model one on one video games, like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, in a pro wrestling setting, and that somehow branched out into a Lucha Underground style with a heavy sci-fi/ fantasy bent and a quite elaborate kayfabe back story.

Thanks for pointing that out to me, much appreciated :)

    Just wondering if anyone knows:

The Ring of Life is considered the most powerful. It is won in EMLL's only non-singles match, a four way match that cocurs at the Battle for the Ring. It is not defended, but many stories revolve around workers trying to take it. Dolphin Master currently holds the ring. In canon, Charron is obsessed with the Ring of Life and believes he can destroy the multiverse entirely with it. It appears vacant ingame since it is not defended. Its origin is unknown.

Would it be "canon" to have Dolphin Master defend the ring?

I would love to start a Dynasty with this company and I just want to make sure I'm following the canon.

  2. I was thinking of doing that but then worried about burn out as I'll be booking 3 main shows.

I think I am going to test out how viable it would be to just make NXT a separate company altogether and keep it within the WWE universe alliance. It's a shame as everytime I run some tests, the AI sends down people like Reigns and Wyatt and McIntyre for a good chunk of time yet when I'm in control I get nothing lol

  3. Hey everyone,

Using a RW mod and i'm trying to book as NXT but the AI is absolutely killing me. Within the first month or so my roster gets completely depleted of Stars with them being recalled to the main roster and my show ratings take an absolute tanking. I understand that the AI views me as a developmental system and not a '3rd brand' as they are viewed by some. It's very frustrating but I cant really fault the game for it - maybe this could be a new feature in future TEWs? Maybe.

So I have a few questions and hopefully someone can help with this.

    1) I know I can loan someone from the roster - but it's only for 1 appearance - is there any limit on how many times I can loan someone? Say for example if I wanted to take Joe back to NXT for a storyline - Can I keep recalling him again and again or is there a point were the AI just says no?

    2) Is there a solid way of building up a workers perception? In the event of my stars being called up, it would be good to have someone ready to step in and fill the gap for me and save my ratings from dipping. I struggle to see any major shifts in perception and i'm thinking maybe it's me booking it wrong.

Personal Preference Is it maybe just worth having NXT as a '3rd' brand extension of the main roster or even as a separate company? I wonder if anyone has any experience of doing something like this in the editor?

    Thanks!

  4.

Pretty much just gotta deal with it, yeah. I've rigged it as best as I can so they don't raid NXT too badly, but they still call up more than I'd ideally like because the game can't recognize them as essentially a third brand.

Yeah I thought it was game mechanics related and not the mod so no fault on your part at all. The mod is still fantastically detailed and my initial run with NXT was unfortunately sabotaged by Vince in taking my big names, I'm having a blast with AEW now.

  5. 80 is a great rating. At their current size, I wouldn't think AEW would be getting any more than that. Are your shows gaining popularity?

Oh really? I thought I was underperforming.

Yes to be fair we are gaining popularity, I thought that even though I'm not number 1 in the world, I would still be getting really high rates angles. Don't get me wrong id be happy if the 70/80 range is good for my size, I was always under the impression that I was underperforming and doing something wrong.

  6. Hey guys, wondering if you all could give me some help.

I'm using a real world mod (Killing the Business) and the stats seem very fair across the board for workers. I'm AEW and for the life of me I am getting slaughtered with ratings. I've booked a full month and I've never gotten a match rating higher than 80. I'm putting Young Bucks with Lucha Bros, Jericho with MJF example and I'm getting low 70s.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Should I be using specific match types / instructions?

It's the same with Angles too.. I'm barely getting anything past an 80 and I'm trying to use workers and rate them on their best attributes but I'm getting nothing. It's very frustrating.

Has anyone else had experiences like this before?

  7. Seen lots of posts about storyline recently, i have these that may offer some help and inspiration.

    Enjoy :)

Let me know if the link dont work i have never tried to share a file on this site before.

Dude this is fantastic. Absolute fantastic, thank you for sharing this.

I have been looking for something like this as I often struggle with structuring storylines and this is a great guide!

  8. Everyone, how do you write effective storylines?

Wrestling sometimes isn't as simple and straight forward as 'Wrestler A has beef with Wrestler B' and voila we have a storyline.

Sometimes we have a Wrestler A has a beef with Wrestler B - But then Wrestler C has an issue with Wrestler B but doesn't directly fight him because Wrestler D wants revenge on Wrestler C etc etc

What way do you book these types of storylines? Do you book them as separate feuds with two wrestlers as major roles and two wrestlers as minor (then reverse the roles in the other storyline)

Or.. do you book this as one giant storyline?

  9. Sorry guys I posted this on the small questions thread but it's gotten lost in the shuffle.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to end a loan?

I am using a real world mod as AEW and every PPV I have scheduled, Jon Moxley (my champion) is unavailable due to commitments to NJPW. His contract shows he is Exclusive Written to me and Handshake, on loan to NJPW.

How can I get him to end this loan or even to prioritize my events over New Japan. I don't want to take the belt from him just yet but at the same time I don't want a champion that doesn't work on PPV :)

  10. Most likely your default ladder match had either content or injury risk set too high. It can be at most Average. Ladders are fine for that product.

I'm gonna try that out thanks for that.

Also: is there anyway to terminate a loan deal? The mod in using, I'm only realising that Jon Moxley is unavailable for every PPV until November due to his loan to NJPW.. is there anyway to end this or have him prioritize me?

  11. Guys does anyone know what what be a good product for AEW or a method of being able to use a ladder match.

I'm currently using the Killing the Business mod and got destroyed when using a ladder match as the fans apparently didn't want to see that type of match.

The current product is Wrestling Nerd Nirvana.

Based on my current product I'll get penalised for eye candy matches, death matches and dangerous matches but I don't really see a ladder match being "dangerous" compared to other styles.

Does anyone have any suggestions to work around this at all?

  14. Both popularity and skill are always measured, but if a product leans more heavily into star power versus talent, then them being popular is much more important to the rating. In other words you can get really big ratings with folks who aren't necessarily good in the ring.

Conversely if they're judged much more on ability, then a great match is recognized as one even if they aren't necessarily big names.

This can go to varying extremes. With that one though it basically says both are equally important.

Appreciate the response man, makes perfect sense thank you!

  15. That's dictated on the times given to segments. 9 regular length matches and 11 short angles can fit that ratio fine.

It's based on time rather than number of segments, so you can book 35 1 minute matches and 1 65 minute match and it evens OUT

Ahh then that makes sense.. I was looking at that the complete wrong way so thanks for clearing that up for me guys

Can I ask something else really stupid? What does it mean by Matches are graded on a ratio of between 40:60 and 60:40 in ring action / popularity depending on what gets the best rating
