  1. If you need data for the Maritimes territory in Canada, I can provide some information for Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. I have a list of results from their shows going all the way back to the 60s, so it can kind of give you an idea of who the big stars were and whatnot from that era.

I also find a lot of historical mods have far less venues from the Maritimes where various indie companies run until today, and even arenas that WWE runs when they come by (and hopefully AEW eventually).

  2. I've seen this suggested elsewhere, but I no one used this example, so I figure it is a good justification to be able to talk to someone who has left the business in an effort to try and get them back.

Tony Schiavone left the business in 2002. He did one TNA appearance and then he was done. He said multiple times over the years that he was thankful for the fans but never wanted to come back to wrestling.

Then he started his podcast with Conrad, continued to insist he didn't want to come back, until MLW needed a commentator for their first show back. Then AEW happened, and here we are, Tony Schiavone is back in the business.

I think there should be an option to talk to someone who has left to try and bring them back mainly because Tony was definitely not on hiatus for all that time. He was done. Then the right opportunity came around, and he came back, and is happier than he has ever been (which has honestly been wonderful to see, as WCW ended so badly.)

I would think that a situation like that should justify it. Tully Blanchard is another one, where he was essentially retired in 1992. Yet, here we are, and he is back as a manager.

It can be something that is extremely rare and not common, but under the right circumstances, it could be fun to let that happen.

  3. I have no idea what happened, but the shows are all drawing as normal now. Must have had something to do with the state of the industry or something.

Thank you all for the help!

EDIT: I was wrong haha. First two shows of the tour did 30,000, next show (a few days later in a different region) did 10,000, and it's normally a place where I would draw 30,000. I'm guessing it's a case of diminishing returns, which is fine. I was hoping there was a way to do "normal" shows rather than tour ones to try and replicate what NJPW does with NJPW World, but I guess that's not strictly possible unless tour shows could be shown without it being highlights. That's okay though. I'll just use my imagination for the tour shows as being shown in full, and having a few normal shows scattered throughout the tours to maximize attendance a few times.

  4. Try doing two day tour with high importance and cheap ticket prices

I'm running a touring company right now (BHOTWG), and I'm trying to replicate what NJPW would do with the G1, as all the shows in the G1 tend to be a bigger deal than a standard tour show. They have 19 shows in a month, and replicating a round robin tournament like that could be a lot of fun. That is why I was hoping I could get several shows over a few days to hit the 10-15,000 mark easily, but they seem to start at 30,000 then drop to 5000.

Having a show with a tour title be high importance is a bit difficult naturally, and I don't want to use the editor to set them all to high importance.

  5. I think this might be due to one of the shows being set to a season finale which automatically gets a massive boost. I run back to back shows a lot in many promotions and usually the attendance is similar, unless one event has much more importance (like the last show of a tournament weekend). So if the first show has more importance and is set to season finale that likely does it.

Sadly, that isn't the case for me. When I run a normal event one day (lets say Monday), it'll draw 30,000 and then the next show on Tuesday will hit 10,000 or less. I'm going to experiment more.

  6. Hey there!

I have been enjoying the mod, but I noticed an error in the Canadian territory scene.

Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling was not founded until 1977, and it was founded by Emile Dupree.

Yvon Robert Jr.'s Grand Prix Wrestling was based out of Montreal, Quebec, and that is the promotion that has been conflated with the Maritimes Atlantic Grand Prix.

They are actually two different promotions. Also, for Atlantic Grand Prix, they would consistently draw crowds of 2000+ (some quite a bit larger, in the 5000+) range, which is remarkable given the population of the Maritimes today is just less than 3 million (between Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island), with New Brunswick having 750,000 people (and probably way less in the 70s).

  7. B shows shouldn't count. However it may be something to do with the Economy and Industry falling. You can check this by clicking gameworld. (The globe icon). It may have drastically dipped meaning less people are buying the pay per views because overall interest in wrestling as a whole has declined in your era.

Though I'd say its perfectly reasonable and realistic. Its what I personally expected with AEW. An initial spike in people buying the first event or two before a slow decline to a more steady fanbase. Though I've not done the research to see if this is accurate.

However it is true holding more than one event per month will mean less PPV buys.

So double check the gameworld for Economy & Industry levels first

AEW has actually held up quite well with their PPV buys. 100,000 for every PPV so far, with the latest actually being their highest at 115,000-120,000.

That said - 400,000 is actually quite reasonable OP. Even half of that is for a medium promotion. If you have PPV deals in place worldwide for TV, it can throw it off. Industry does as well.

  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BiffJordan" data-cite="BiffJordan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47578" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I think that depending upon your product setting and in game rules you can emulate this quit well.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Okay, that is awesome.</p>
  9. What exactly do you mean by "change the focus"? You can use brands to change the product, match focus, and angle focus for a show. Just create the brand with whatever settings you want, put everyone in that brand, and set events as unbranded.

I meant that the way TV shows were produced in the 80s were very different from what we have now. They were studio shows that drove to live events without PPVs. Mainly, that the TV was designed specifically to build to the house shows that people would go out to. So, the purpose of TV wasn't to see outstanding matches or to build to PPVs but to sell tickets to house shows. That is why the focus of the TV was building stars through squash matches and building feuds with promos.

Match quality, in that case, shouldn't be as important to the overall rating of the show if we were simulate that correctly, as the show, historically, should just be squash matches with the occasional match between stars every few months.

  10. Been out of the loop a bit on this, what were the changes?

That would be that payouts are a lot more realistic for wrestlers, as are ticket prices. For example, a mid level guy in a small indy might get paid $25-$40 and that is exactly what they're paid in this game.

Meanwhile, contracts for big companies are appropriately huge.

I have to say all of the QoL issues I’ve wanted fixed (particularly once I realised turning off coloured lists fixes scrollbars AND sorts storylines alphabetically) have been sorted except for a few things.

    1. Moving segments is still painful

    2. Lack of View Worker button on angle screen

    3. Ability to edit default angles like freestyle ones (although I don’t think this one is coming)

    4. Tweaking of the converter to stop turning positive 2016 characters into negatives

I agree with all of these. I would also add having a floating ? like in TEW 2016 in several areas would be helpful too.

I was a bit sad that we don't see Alliance Supershows like the old NWA shows or like how NJPW and ROH do joint shows, but maybe that is something that can be added later.

I loved the idea of bulk taping of TV, and it works wonderfully. I wonder if there is a way to change the focus of the TV like an 80s show where squash matches and promos were the norm.

With that being said, I am really, really enjoying the game as a whole. I find it plays very smoothly and the simulation is a ton of fun.

  11. These are all the ones you get when you put in empleh

Per the empleh code these are the current ones.

passport: all workers become available in all areas

themorethemerrier: all companies yet to open become active

sophie: all user talents are set to maximum

liftmeup: give the user one more talent point

    foggynoggin: all relationships are forgotten

vivalarevolution: all AI owner and booker positions become vacant

companiesinneed: all in-debt companies are given a rescue package

iamkindofabigdeal: the current user gains maximum reputation

cleanslate: all addictions, current or reformed, are removed from workers

allseeingi: all previously hidden attributes are revealed

uwillrespectme: the user's image is changed to unlock motivational speeches

uwillfearme: the user's image is changed to unlock psycho sermons

jobreview: the user's owner's approval rating is reset to excellent

evenplayingfield: all companies are set to have $25,000,000

Now Adam may have a hidden one or two like he has done previously, but he hasn't come out and said anything this year regarding them.

Thanks! Updated the first post in case people want to see it right away.

  12. So, as this was a thread for TEW 2016, I was wondering if folks found any cheat codes by putting them into remote assistance?

sophie: max all user talent points

    uwillrespectme: unlocks motivational speeches

    uwillfearme: unlocks psycho sermons

Those are the three I tried, and they are the same as their 2016 counterparts. I I wonder if there are new ones on top of the others that we already know? I haven't tried the other 2016 ones, as I just tried these from memory.

If you guys put others here, I'll update the thread with new ones as they are found.

    Edit:

empleh: reveals cheats (potentially all? But maybe more are hidden)

passport: all workers become available in all areas

themorethemerrier: all companies yet to open become active

sophie: all user talents are set to maximum

liftmeup: give the user one more talent point

    foggynoggin: all relationships are forgotten

vivalarevolution: all AI owner and booker positions become vacant

companiesinneed: all in-debt companies are given a rescue package

iamkindofabigdeal: the current user gains maximum reputation

cleanslate: all addictions, current or reformed, are removed from workers

allseeingi: all previously hidden attributes are revealed

uwillrespectme: the user's image is changed to unlock motivational speeches

uwillfearme: the user's image is changed to unlock psycho sermons

jobreview: the user's owner's approval rating is reset to excellent

evenplayingfield: all companies are set to have $25,000,000

mixitup: cause a random event like a promotion scandal or donation to a promotion

  13. I'm on the east coast of Canada. We haven't had many cases, however, the number is growing daily. My province has reported 2 confirmed cases, with 6 presumed cases. The country had 120 cases 3 days ago. We're up to 569 on the 17th with the most data. That means there are more infected, but we don't know how many.

Essentially, we know there are more cases. We have no idea how many, but I will be shocked if it isn't over 1000 by Friday. The biggest concern is making sure that those with immune issues and the elderly are protected. I have several friends who are at risk, and I know several in my church are a vulnerable.

I am going to try and help them setup a way to do services online so the older folks aren't isolated, and find a way to stay in touch. I am temporarily off work anyway, but I am working on finding a way to work from home when I return.

Canada has been handling it rather well. We have been less reactive, and more proactive. Trudeau has done relatively well, and the government has been giving daily, clear updates. They've been very transparent and haven't minimized it at all. We've been monitoring it closely since January, and acted very quickly to contain it once it started to show up. We shut down the boarders (except to the US) and all international flights are contained to 4 airports nationwide.

All Canadians abroad have been told to come home and that the government will help pay for it. They also said if anyone is sick, stay home. They have a plan to help people who don't have sick leave or unemployment benefits. We don't know the details yet. Anyone who is sick can't get on a plane. If they're stuck elsewhere in the world, the government will help them cover expenses while stuck.

I'm not really afraid of being infected, myself. If I am, I'm in good health and I'm young, so the risk is low. However, I am way more concerned about passing it to others who are at risk, so I'm staying home as much as possible. People have panic bought toilet paper, but it's calmed down after 1 big day of panic.

We shall see what the implications are in the next few weeks, but I imagine the next month or 2 is going to be quite hard for many.

  14. <p>FloSlam is no longer a thing. Hasn't been for a long time. Fite and PowerBomb.TV might be good adds.</p><p> </p><p>

I also have data for some of the local promotions in the Maritimes (Canada), including one that is running a PPV in September 2019. I figured that might be worth including in the database should you want to add it (I can actually work on it and send you the data).</p><p> </p><p>

And Suzuki still does matches with other promotions often. PPA makes sense for him.</p>
