1. Wow! Quite the undertaking. Looking forward to downloading and giving it a try Thanks for the work
2. April 14, 2000 The Troy Messenger Troy Coach states the primary focus to start will be on the recruiting trail Troy, AL - In a press conference today held at Troy University's Trojan Arena, Coach Kevin McEwen introduced his coaching staff and outlined his plans for the summer leading into the staff's first campaign together. It was clear early on that the primary focus for him and his staff was to hit the ground recruiting. "It is imperative that we begin recruiting hard, but more so in that we know what we are recruiting and where we are starting. We want to begin to develop a positive outlook to the local schools around the state of Alabama and the Southeast region," said McEwen. "With that said, we will not hesitate to uncover any stone to find the right athlete for our program and one that fills the academic needs for the student.' With the entire team and staff in attendance, Coach McEwen also emphasized that everyone will be starting from a clean slate. "Starting today everyone on this team is equal. No upper classmen is above an under classman and there will be no senior preferential treatment. If you are a Freshman, it will not be assumed that you will be at the back of the line and at the end of the bench. We will implement a vigorous training program and we will tirelessly evaluate every individual to make sure we position them and the team in the best manner to move forward and grow academically and athletically. Every aspect of our daily lives as it pertains to basketball will be about team and only team" stated McEwen. While the previous staff at Troy brought in a class of three freshman, only one on scholarship and two as walk-on's, it is not clear how this young group is receiving the new changes. Sources close to the program state that Coach McEwen is planning to not only meet one-on-one with every member of the team, but specifically spend extra attention on the incoming class to validate what they feel is best for them and their futures. With the lack of depth at some of the key positions, this class could see ample playing time immediately and it is not unrealistic to think none will be redshirted. The lone scholarship signing in this class is SG Deshawn Leach from Ashtabula, OH and is expected to make the earliest impact. Also to note, redshirted freshman PG Riley Skinner from Arley, AL is expected to see ample minutes on the court this fall. The two walk-on players, PF Romeo Justin from New Hope, AL and SF Chris Lena from Grove Hill, AL could contribute to a depth lacking squad. Troy has not enjoyed much recent success on the court and are not expected to initially compete strongly in a currently weak mid-major Sun Belt Conference. The expectation for now has them projected to finish last and not make double digits in the win column. With the young and fresh minds on the staff, many in the lower Alabama area hope and expect a different outcome.
3. April 10, 2000 The Troy Messenger Troy's Coach McEwen announces the 2000-01 Staff Troy, AL - It has been a week since the announcement of Kevin McEwen as the Troy men’s head basketball coach and today he has announced who will be heading up his staff for the upcoming 2000-01 season. It comes as no surprise to many that two of the three assistants will remain on from the previous staff for the upcoming year. Coach McEwen has elevated Marcus Grant from graduate assistant to the role of coaching assistant in what would be considered the third assistant seat. Grant is a graduate/player from the Troy program having graduated in 1996. Grant will be responsible for player development/training. Mike Worley will remain as the second assistant and will filling the role as Director of Scouting. Worley has been on previous Coach Majoroski's staff at Troy for the past 5 seasons and Coach McEwen has stated his value to know the conference, teams, and other coaching staffs will be invaluable in assisting him. The first assistant will be Kirk Bentley who will be coming to Troy with Coach McEwen from UAB where he served as second assistant on the UAB staff alongside McEwen for the past three seasons. While Coach McEwen has strong ties within the state of Alabama and the southeast region, he will be relying on Bentley to head up the recruiting department and work closely alongside him on the recruiting trail. The Troy staff is expected to report to campus on Friday April 14, 2000 where Coach McEwen has called for a press conference to announce them and follow with discussions on the programs immediate plans for the upcoming summer heading into the 2000-01 season.
4. April 7, 2000 The Troy Messenger Who is Coach Kevin McEwen? Troy, AL - Many are questioning who this young new coach is that Troy University has just hired. Coach McEwen and AD Mick Griffin go back to the coaches playing days at Auburn. Kevin McEwen was a graduate and athletic standout at Minor High School in Adamsvile, AL. During the recruiting phase to get him to Auburn, Mick Griffin was first assistant at Auburn and heavily involved in recruiting local Alabama players. With Coach McEwen's commitment to Auburn in the late fall of 1987, he arrived on campus early but was redshirted his freshman year. This proved to be a molding point for the future coach and allowed him to watch, study, and learn the college game from the side court. He would become a three year starter of what would be considered to be a middle of the run team in the SEC. While most seasons were right at the .500 mark, his only winning season to participate in as a player was his senior year when the team went 15-12. He remained at Auburn University in 1993 as a graduate assistant. That year the Tigers went only 11-17 but the young coach showed signs of having a bright future mentoring young athletes. At the young age of 24 and only one season under his belt at any level of coaching he was called upon by the University of South Alabama to fill the third assistant chair that Mick Griffin had created for him after becoming the South Alabama assistant AD. Stepping into an abysmal program at the time, USA finished a conference low 9-18 his first season. His second season as third assist was a marked improvement for the team in most offensive and defensive categories but only translated into a small upward trend in wins with the team finishing 12-15. His ability to communicate well with the team and having clear respect from the players, it earned him a promotion to second assistant in his third year. This was the bright year for the young coach, and where things really began to slow down and click for him. USA finished 23-7, won the conference championship and earned a birth into the NCAA tournament. While it was short lived on a first round departure, it clearly placed him on the map for heavily sought after assistants. At the age of 27 and after three seasons at South Alabama, he was offered a position as first assistant at UAB. UAB's recent success had seen their first assistant depart for a head coaching position thus opening the door for the highly respected young Coach McEwen. In the three seasons at UAB as first assistant, the teams went a respectively 18-14, 21-12, and 20-12 placing him high on the list of young talent for a head coaching position. With the departure of Coach McEwen leaving USA, so did AD Mick Griffin. That same year AD Griffin left the assistant AD position at South Alabama and took on the AD position at Troy. Over the next three seasons, the two remained as friends and stayed in close contact with each other in the off season. When it came time for AD Griffin to make a change at Troy for the struggling program he inherited into his realm, it was an easy first choice and phone call for him to make. Thus reuniting what many in the Trojan family are hoping to be a turning point for the men's basketball program. Time will tell if the young coach can pull off the mighty task of turning the ship to steadier waters. One can only hope he doesn't stir it into an iceberg.
5. April 4, 2000 The Troy Messenger Troy announces the hiring of the next men's basketball coach Troy, AL - As previous reports have speculated, the Troy Trojans have introduced their new men’s head basketball coach. Kevin McEwen was introduced today at a press conference held in Trojan Arena in front of the men’s basketball team and the press. McEwen, a former player and graduate assistant at Auburn University, and assistant at UAB becomes the youngest division 1 men’s basketball coach at the age of 30. McEwen recognized AD Griffin and Troy University expressing gratitude stating “I want to thank everyone involved in having the faith in me to lead the program into the future. I believe in this university and program and am very excited to jump on board with this athletic department. I can't wait to get in the gym and start working with our team. We are going to play with fierce determination and heart, making all of our fans proud." Coach McEwen met privately with the Troy team prior to the press conference. We expect to learn more about his plans for the program. Many sources state he will be giving extra attention to the incoming class to attempt to maintain balance in an already struggling program. More news is expected to be coming shortly as it is not clear who Coach McEwen will either hire or decide to keep on board to shore up his coaching staff.
6. The Beginning April 3, 2000 The Troy Messenger Trojans Coach fired after six lack luster seasons Troy, AL - Just weeks after a forgettable season comes to a close for the Trojan men's basketball team, the rumors appear to have come to fruition. Coach Ted Majoroski has been let go following a 67-95 record after six seasons as the Trojan coach. Having gone 16-38 the past two seasons and not hitting double digit wins in either, this comes as very little shock to anyone in the Trojan family. He posted his lone winning season in 1996-97 going 16-11 and falling in the first round of the CIT tournament. Mick Griffin, the Troy athletic director, will be holding a news conference to the open press tomorrow in what many expect to be the announcement of the next Troy Trojan men's basketball coach. Sources close to the program speculate the front runner to be Kevin McEwen, the young up and coming assistant at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. McEwen is making his impression felt through the coaching community and being an Alabama native from Minor High School in Adamsville and Auburn University, many feel that he would be a natural fit.
7. Amidst all the craziness in the world today and staying at home more with social distancing, etc...I decided to pick up FBCB and begin a new dynasty. This is going to start in the year 2000-01, but is going to follow along the lines of modern day teams/conferences (actually into the future a year or two) by having the likes of Bellarmine, Dixie State, and UC San Diego implemented into the NCAA basketball landscape. This will be a completely fictional dynasty with fictional players and coaches, therefore any likeness for any names will be purely coincidental. More to come on the back drop of the story for Coach McEwen. I will be using the start of a past dynasty story that I never really got off the ground with another game.
8. I have been reading some past dynasties, and became interested in firing up and reviving BBCF again (thanks for the recent dynasty posts from Chowderhead that I have recently been following on another forum. I have always thought BBCF was a great sim. I like the depth of the recruiting aspect, etc...Really have wished on several occasions that Arlie and company would update/upgrade this version to bring it current (new college football style of play, screen resolutions, etc...) This game is still a gem, even 15 years later. I am going to begin the dynasty in the current real world format of conferences and teams (130 teams) but will start in the year 2000. This is a complete fictional dynasty, so as strange as it may seem to see the likes of South Alabama, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, etc... I want to try and have some space to build stats in the 2000 years and see how long it may take me to catch up to the current year (whenever that may be) I will be playing out all games and weekly game planning, so it may be a rather slow dynasty, but hopefully in depth. My plan is to follow a preseason reporting, then a weekly in season, into off season recruiting. The weekly schedule will be a "National Report" of game results, weekly awards, , new polling results, and upcoming preview of next games. The second part of the weekly schedule will be a "Coaches Report" for the local team I will be managing for the weekly game/results, film room and injury report, upcoming game planning, recruiting news, next game preview Chronicling a dynasty in this measure hopefully keeps it fresh for me and adds immersion while hopefully may be entertaining to anyone else that wants to follow.
9.
AUsome! gonna download and give it a try. really itching for some college football.

Sure wish Arlie would update this game already. If nothing else, but to allow better resolution and updated playbooks etc...

10. Thanks for the write up. Good read and knowledge to have I ever really tried to move positions a lot but definitely going to look at it
11. It is Ragin...I am not sure what is going on. Corrupted to the point I can not cleanly de-install it. However, I can not create a league or delete with my current version loaded on this PC but I can create a league on an old PC I had from years ago....still had BBCF on it. I also can transfer a league created from the old PC onto my newer pc having trouble and the league seems to run fine at this point. I have simmed through the first season to check the scheduling aspect mostly first and noticed all conferences/teams did schedule 12 games with the exception of the Sun Belt - 11 teams, 7 schedule 12, 2 scheduled 11, and 2 scheduled 10
12. I think I may have registry corrupt on my C drive. I can't de-install either. I receive an install.log error. I went ahead and unlicensed, then installed a fresh run on another partitioned drive...maybe that will do the trick. Going create a league and sim a few seasons to make sure everything runs fluidly EDIT - Still getting a Run-Time error '48' Error in loading DLL This is the same one I have been getting for sometime trying to load this. I know others have posted on the boards getting the same thing in past months....not sure how to fix it.
13. also, any future thought on allowing higher screen resolution?
14. Is this compatible to re-install on a Win8.1 machine.? I recently (as in the last year) tried and was having issues
15. Well I am in my sixth season at UAB and I have not landed a five star recruit yet but I have had decent classes. In my third year (might be my best) I landed 12 recruits... of these, 2 were four stars, 8 were three stars, and two were two stars.... This same year I landed three transfers... two of these four stars, and the other three stars. This said, all in all I have competed well in Conf USA, winning it my fifth year (when the above mentioned class were Jr/RS So). Oddly enough, my class last year consisted on 10 recruits (all being three stars) after winning the conference. My guess is that Ala / Aub / UGA all had great years making my region recruiting that much tougher.
