  1. Well, having just binged Oreimo this weekend ( including the OVAs) I have to agree that the ending was pretty pathetic in how it was handled. I did like how the MC at least realized that the impossibleness of all those girls confessing to him and how it is something that would never happen in his lifetime again. Although a couple of those 'confessions' seem really contrived. Kanako's confession really had no build up considering they only met like 3 times in the entire anime before she does her confession. Manami's and Kuroneko's at least made sense, and Ayane's was kind of out of left field ( considering that up to that point you'd think her interest was in Kirino more than Kyousuke).
  2. I understand the feeling of things becoming an 'obligation' so can definitely understand how time gets short to do all the things you want to do. I have followed along with this for the now years its been around and its gotten me a lot deeper into anime appreciation than I used to be. ( always watched anime, but it was usually restricted to something like Gundam, Bleach, Naruto, etc) Now I watch a much larger selection of animes ( even if I do spend too much time with harem ones ) and have developed a much better appreciation all around from watching some of the suggestions in this thread and allowing it to broaden my own horizons. As for TEW 2016, chances are I will get into the game and feel the urge myself to write again ( as by now its almost impossible to play the game and not at least think about how to translate it to a diary) but I don't know if I will given the sheer amount of time it takes ( me at least) to produce one that I think is quality enough to put out there.
  3. I have to admit I went in not expecting much, but ended up getting hooked on the whole Monogatari series, basically marathoning all of them in a one week period.
  4. <p>I watch a bridge to Starry Skies when I was watching random stuff on crunchyroll over a year ago. it was mildly entertaining.</p><p> </p><p> been watching a collection of anime myself recently, mostly mediocre stuff such as the two seasons of 'Are you a Zombie?' , Cat Planet Cuties, and 2 seasons of Strike Witches. they were cheap so I bought a bulk bundle.</p>
  5. What I want is a game or a situation ( which I may create in the next TEW somehow) where I can say this line that's been going through my head for the past few months. Which is " When the hell did I become the main character in a japanese harem anime?" (as you can guess, may have been watching too much of this genre lately )
  6. This, and the board for the Battletech game that was kickstarted a couple months ago are the only two that I have ever been really active on ( as in check regularly, and have posted more than a handful of times.) As for anime, while I enjoy watching it, and have watched more in the last few years than I did my entire life before then, to me it seems such a personal thing in regards to taste that no two people are going to like all the same stuff. So much so that deep discussion about it seems almost pointless because you like what you like, they like what they like, and dealing with zealous fanboys internet bashing you because you didn't really enjoy their all time favorite anime isn't much fun. I much prefer this approach, where you have come in and said, I watched this, this is what I thought of it. And then we can either comment with 'yeah I saw that too, and I liked it or it didn't work for me for some reason' and that's basically it. Its a way for those of us on the board who are interested in Anime to kind of share names of shows that we might not have otherwise given a second look at. I know that I probably wouldn't have known about or watched at least a few anime here without this board.
  7. <p>Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma</p><p> </p><p> An anime that gives true meaning to the phrase "food porn" <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  8. I just binged watched the 24 episodes this weekend and I was really entertained. Its not ground breaking anime, but it is a good, fun fantasy action anime.
  9. I enjoyed the series, but I agree it could have done better to pace the entire story out over 24 or so episodes which would have helped the pacing issues as well as allowed a little more character development for some of the side characters.
  10. Kind of reminds me of High School DXD with the pervy MC
  11. surprised Crunchyroll didn't have this .. yet they have no problem with broadcasting The Testament of Sister New Devil which is about as ecchi as they come.
  12. Don't know how much review backlog you currently have, but if you start taking recommendations for animes to review I'd like to recommend Charlotte from this last season on Crunchyroll.
  13. I enjoyed this series , even though its a little out of my normal ballpark. the shows that I have watched that I would somewhat compare it to would be Toradora and and Wolf Girl and Black Prince ( although not exact comparisons but both are high school romance animes that I have seen recently) Toradora is a far stronger anime in terms of characters and the love story isn't really resolved till the end unlike this show but Ore Monogatari has better representation of characters and isn't a twisted relationship like Wolf Girl and Black Prince. So while all three are watchable animes of this genre, I would rate Toradora - Must see Ore Monogatari- Worth seeing Wolf Girl and Black Prince - watchable, although the main characters may not be very likeable
  14. I enjoyed Witchcraft Works quite a bit, especially its kind of role-reversal between the main characters where its the male that is the one that has to be protected by the female. The over the top comedy and action also helped make it entertaining for me as well. if it doesn't get a second season that will be disappointing but the whole magical witches and school\academy anime scene has had a lot of entries over the past few seasons so I can see it getting kind of lost in that crowd.
  15. there's actually a second season of this airing on Crunchyroll this season.
  16. There are a couple lines, especially in the first couple episodes that kind of hint at that kind of possible romantic connection between them, but its never really acted on or taken further.
  17. so did they remove the app from Samsung entirely or it just doesn't work now if you already have it downloaded? I have a Samsung smart tv as well and while I mostly watch Crunchyroll on the computer ( as the tv is in the living room and the computer is in my office when I normally work) I have watched it on my tv in the past from the app.
  18. it's actually entertaining overall, at least in my opinion. There's actually 3 seasons before the one that's available on crunchyroll. That's one thing I dislike about crunchyroll, often times they will have the latest season or series but not the previous ones, and I hate getting into an anime 3\4 of the way through when you don't get to see the episodes that actually tell you who the characters are and what the premise is.
  19. the protagonist getting beat up is pretty much a staple of harem series, especially ecchi ones. I am watching the To Love Ru series now and the main protagonist gets hit all the time, usually because of the standard prat fall ending up in them crotch sitting or accidently grabbing one of the girl's boobs. I can only think of a few harem examples that doesn't have the main guy get hit for the 'misunderstandings' that occur. Though I do agree that zero no Tsukaima and bladedance of the elementalers ( both of which are very similar in terms of story and characters) that the main tsundere goes overboard every time they see the MC and another female.
  20. While the Kuroko's season 3 really only covers 3-4 games ( with a 3-4 episode flashback to when they were in middle school story as well) it pretty much brings to a close the whole Winter Cup and Generation of Miracles storyline so it's worth checking out as its just ending the the 3rd season. especially if you waited till now, you can watch the entire thing and not have to deal with a cliffhanger at the end.
  21. Same here, I watched this one a few months ago and found it entertaining as well.
  22. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="White Dolphin" data-cite="White Dolphin" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="33970" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I think the plotholes might be fixed with a second season, no? The show kinda needs a conclusion before it gets to that point, just ask Season 5 of Game of Thrones. I don't love the show really and cannot for the life of me figure out where the hell the yaoi fanshipping community for this came from, (given that Eren is a 6 at most), but F is like......latter seasons of Prince of Tennis bad.<p> </p><p> Likin this thread Tiger, and I'm prolly gonna check a lot of this out. You should really give more chances to sports anime though. Prince of Basketball and Initial D aren't really doing the genre justice, and I think you'd really like some gems such as Cross Game, Haikyuu, Eyeshield 21, and Ookiku Furikabutte. People are reluctant to even get into sports anime, mostly because it doesn't get overseas exposure for some bizarre reason, and also because not everyone is a fan of sports. Really though, its not that different from animes centering around people killing each other with swords: Its just another backdrop for telling a story, and a lot of good stories are told due to the huge pride involved in Japanese athletics (particularly at high school level).</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> There are actually several decent sports anime out in the last few seasons</p><p> </p><p> Ace of the Diamond - Baseball</p><p> Baby Steps -Tennis</p><p> Kuroko No Basketball - Basketball</p><p> Haikyuu -Volleyball (which you already mentioned)</p><p> Yowapedia - Cycling</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> I liked Prince of Tennis more in the early seasons, before it got far too unrealistic. Kuroko's gets into that territory, but I still find it enjoyable.</p><p> I watched the first couple of episodes of Eyeshield 21 but I found it a little to campy for my taste.</p>
  23. I've been splitting my game time between Witcher 3, which I have just finished the first ( tutorial ) area and gotten to Velen, and MLB 15 the Show where I have taken my 18 yr old sinkerballer pitcher from double AA to the majors in one year ( granted this is on rookie difficulty as I get used to the game) in the road to the show mode. I don't really like the fielding and baserunning controls of the game, but the pitching and batting modes are nice. My pitcher even hits well ( again, on rookie difficulty <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )
  24. <p>I watched the first episode of Attack on Titan and it just didn't appeal to me for some reason. Sometime I will go back and give it another shot though since it seems to be well reviewed and thought of and I have enjoyed similar themed shows.</p><p> </p><p> I don't really mind either way on sub or dub, although dubbed its a little easier to multi-task as I don't have to concentrate on reading the entire episode. Only place I really hate subs is trying to watch anime on Netflix, but that's because they use this awful pale yellow color for their subs and its hard as hell to see against anything but a dark background.</p>
  25. So Witcher 3 should be unlocked now around the world. Whose already playing?
