  1. Thought I'd add a few Kanto venues:

    Venue Name: Ryogoku Sports Center

    Open Date: 1962

    Location: Kanto, Japan

    Venue Size: 3,875

Description: Located in the heart of Tokyo's Ryogoku district, millions of Yen were poured into the venue to rebuild it after the tsunami that ravaged the island nation. Regularly used for concerts, basketball and volleyball, it can, like the smaller, 'sister' #2 building, be used for pro wrestling shows.

Venue Name: Ryogoku Sports Center #2

    Open Date: 1962

    Location: Kanto, Japan

    Venue Size: 725

Description: The smaller of the two Ryogoku Sports Center gyms, the #2 hall is a regular stop for a number of Japan's pro wrestling companies' shows, alongside it's normally intended use: a public-use gymnasium.

    Venue Name: Tokyo Ariake Hall

    Open Date: 2019

    Location: Kanto, Japan

    Venue Size: 285

Description: Recently opened by a Sendai-area promoter who ran 'sold-shows' for several different promotions, Ariake Hall is a smaller venue dedicated to pro wrestling, though it can also be used for smaller concerts.

Side note, and it's bugging me: I noticed a few Yokohama buildings have been listed here, but they're listed with their location as Chubu, when Yokohama is in Kanto (as it's part of the Greater Tokyo Area). Not sure if that was caught when those venues were being added to the database.

  2. So, I think something is being overlooked, in terms of 'realism' when it comes to the whole money aspect of the "touring vs. constant" schedule, and I said this over on the Discord:

Japanese promotions don't make their money touring, especially if they're promoting their shows on their own (as in, they don't have a local promoter paying the promotion to come in, which is the vast majority of touring shows, outside of the current Joshi scene - and even then, there's a select few local promoters still out there).

I do agree that modders need to go through and adequately create tour schedules and not just have them made through the database, as you can then set the intents correctly.

At it's base, though, I'm not seeing what's wrong with the current system... unless I'm missing a ton of stuff (and likely, I am). The patch that lowered touring costs was actually a very good idea, as it brings things more in line with the real world, in that there are (somewhat) reduced costs for most touring shows.

  3. <p><strong>Update #1: Where the Mod Stands Now:</strong> At the current stage, here's where everything stands in terms of completion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Promotions:</strong> All 25 promotions are currently in the game, though product, popularity and contracts need to be set, since everything's been set to "Classic Balanced" in the importing phase. I've got a Word document with the rosters for all of the promotions in the mod, along with champions, though I feel like I might need to create separate Word documents for the lineages (or maybe an Excel doc, since you can create individual pages for different things, and so it could be a different page for every belt).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Workers:</strong> As I'm working off the January Real World update Fleisch released for TEW 2016, beginning adjustments done there, and then converted to 2020, there is a decent amount of work to be done. This part is likely going to take the longest to adjust and get right, as there are over 3000 workers in database at this moment, and there are a number that need popularity updates and stat adjustments on top of other adjustments.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Belts:</strong> All of the belts are in the game with their current champions, though they need lineages put in. This will also take a bit of time to put together.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Locations:</strong> All of the locations from the January 2020 update are in, but probably needing a bit of adjusting to bring up to where they're working correctly in the game, so this will get a bit of polish. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TV Shows & Events:</strong> The one spot where I'm heavily lacking. I've got Starrcade in, along with World Championship Wrestling and NWA Worldwide (the two NWA TV shows)... but that's it. I do have lists of events, TV shows and tours for the promotions, however.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Broadcasters:</strong> In from the January 2020 update, but they all need adjustments to work correctly with the new game's settings.</p><p> </p><p>

    All told, I'm probably... 40-45% complete?</p>

The year is 2020. The world of professional wrestling is doing incredible business, with multiple major promotions running shows around the world, led by... the National Wrestling Alliance? Yes, this world is much the same, but very different than the world we're living in now. WrestleMania was a success for the WWF, but monetary issues and Vince McMahon's arrest and imprisonment over steroids caused the WWF to collapse and close, leaving Jim Crockett Promotions full reign to usurp Vince McMahon and take over NWA territories - and then ultimately the NWA itself.

Fast forward to January 2020. The NWA is riding high off another successful Starrcade show, this one in the Georgia Dome. They're the cream of the crop in North America, but they've chosen to not attempt to take over the entire world, instead partnering with local promotions for supercards, like New Japan. There are inklings of internal struggle as the year begins, however, and an "Elite" few men, frustrated at who the NWA chooses to take over booking, from a retiring Ric Flair, have jumped ship to create a promotion of their own.

Can the NWA fix their (so far) quiet internal struggles? Or will a new force take over the top of the pro wrestling world?

    ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: JUNE/JULY

    *****

As the name says, this mod takes place in an alternate-universe version of the current day, with the National Wrestling Alliance as the top promotion in the wrestling world, and an assorted cast of promotions running alongside them - 25 promotions in all, with the majority of them created, as so to keep with the 'alternate universe' theme. This thread is meant to be an updates and conversation area for the mod, allowing me to update everyone as I move along.

With the Coronavirus pandemic taking place, and my normal job being pretty much halved, I'll have a lot more time than normal to really sit down and put everything together the way I want to have it put together. I will say that this mod will likely be updated a few times as the game is changed and patched, but those updates will come as time goes along.

    So, let the fun begin...

Does it cover all areas in the game? I was going to start one myself but then realised how much work a location file is and decided against it. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="maxicheezestick" data-cite="maxicheezestick" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Very cool! Let me know when you release it.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yes, the file covers all areas. And by all means, it can be used with credit! As I type this, I'm actually working on it now, finishing adding in some spots, and then the plan is to go through and make sure all of the names are correct, etc.</p>

At the moment my file sits at 1,605 venues, and may go up as I've been adding a few Japanese spots and just generally have been cleaning things up. No ETA on when it'll be out, though I'm currently out of full-time work until the 19th of February, so maybe I can push it out.</p>

  8. http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/video-games/Wrestle-Angels-Survivor-2/

here are the character pictures from this site and the page for survivor 1

    http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/ps2/wa/was/was_char.html

as for the logos not sure what to do about that since i dont have a rip of survivor 2

the translated guide i have lists who is at which promotion during the start of each era

i'm also using this as well

    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/WrestleAngels

this shows all the characters in the series

would you like to work on this project with me?

Normally I would say yes, but I've been super busy with work (I work two jobs, one for Amazon and one for the Sacramento Kings - and we're in both "Peak" season at Amazon, pulling five ten hour shifts a week, and the NBA season is in full swing with the Kings, not including concerts and events), so I will have to pass at the moment... though I can help with getting stats right (I was using a formula to get stats converted from Survivor 2 to TEW, including overness), if you need it. If you have a copy of the game (or the ISO - I have both), you can do print-screens of the characters when they use finishing moves or win; I've tried getting into the data of the game to rip art, but it's encoded pretty well.

Biggest issue you're going to have is getting ages for all of the characters - in standard exhibition mode matches they're all listed at 18, IIRC, and they're not all available during each era (for example, it takes a good five or so years before Megumi Mutoh appears in the game as a 16 year old rookie, in the second era) - you COULD just make it an alternate universe of the series and give ages to everyone.

First piece of advice I can give you, if the save is JUST Wrestle Angels characters and promotions: do a version of the data without anyone signed to any of the promotions (bar NJWP), like the management mode in the WA games, and another with the promotions having wrestlers signed.

  9. <p>Personally, if you're doing a Wrestle Angels mod, I'd stick with JUST the Wrestle Angels characters/roster - as of Wrestle Angels: Survivor 2, there was something like 250+ wrestlers. I'd definitely tone down the number of promotions, too - most of the promotions were only in one or two of the games before disappearing; the only constant is Shin Nihon Joshi Pro Wrestling and WARS, if you're playing in the first two eras of "Management Mode" in Survivor 2 (and you can keep WARS from appearing by signing Thunder Ryuko to your promotion in the second era; she's automatically signed to WARS in the third era, but by that point, a lot of the most well known roster members in the game - Mighty Yukiko, Panther Hisako, etc., are all retired).</p><p> </p><p>

I was actually in the process of creating a mod using Wrestle Angels: Survivor 2 as a base, but finding character art for images, and then logos and the like is pretty difficult - made especially hard due to the fact that Tryfirst, the company that took over development of Survivor 2 from Success, was bought out by Yukes! (yes, the same company that develops the WWE 2K series, and Smackdown! before it), and their websites - including the game page, which had character pages and art for all of the characters in the game - were closed.</p>

  10. Hey Fleisch, CMLL actually owns a venue:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arena_M%C3%A9xico

It's already included in the database as "MX Arena Mexico"

They also own some more arenas, unfortunately my Spanish isn't really good :)

    They own:

    Arena Mexico

    Arena Coliseo

    Arena Puebla

    Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

Those are the four buildings CMLL owns and runs, with Arena Mexico being used the most. IWRG (another lucha promotion) owns Arena Naucalpan.

  11. I can do a new locations database, if you'd like. I've already got all of Japan done, just need to do the other places.

Reo Hazuki left Stardom not too long after she was replaced in the 5*STAR GP (listed as due to "family reasons"). She's no longer on the Stardom roster on their website, and has quietly resigned and retired.

  12. In the new release WWE still don't get near the fans attending they do in real life. I've just boosted them to 83 overness in US and Canada and it makes little difference as they are still only getting around 4000 people to Raw.

That's weird. I wonder if that was purposely done by Adam in this version, as that wasn't the case in 2013.

EDIT: Handpora, you can get rid of Maaya and Reo Hazuki - both have long since been out of wrestling.

  13. I don't know if it's like this in the newly released beta version of the mod (I'm playing with a converted version of last month's 2013 mod), but I'm noticing WWE isn't drawing anywhere the amount they should be drawing.

Now, I don't know if it's a case of their popularity not being high enough, or the locations stuff being too bloated (too many locations that aren't used for wrestling. I'm debating creating a streamlined locations mod), but it's certainly something I wanted to bring up.

  14. You have to change the Start Date to Jan 2016 (it is under "Database Info in the Editor). I think there will be some easy fixable errors as a result of that.

Yeah, when I converted the April mod for TEW 13', the only errors were two active NXT workers who weren't active in January.
