  1. I'm really excited by what you've shown off so far, but one thing I'm not entirely clear on is the precise role of the player. You've said that players represent "the forces of good," but in exactly what context? When I play the game, am I putting together the Avengers or do I start each arc picking and choosing from the whole Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe? Or does the game pick for me based on the story arcs set in the database? Alternatively, is this whole post one big "I'll answer that in a later update"?
  2. No need to overcomplicate it. Build up Cody as a serious challenger on a winning streak. At the same time, build up a second challenger on your other show. Roman has to defend two belts in one night in two separate matches, and leaves the show having lost both. Now you've got a frustrated and humiliated Reigns who's been sent to the back of the line, two fresh champions, and the ready-made story of Reigns going on the warpath to restore his name.
  3. Rather than the belt granting any kind of special property to its holder, I think that "workhorse" status would be better represented by that tag signaling to the AI that it's a belt for workers with solid fundamentals. Maybe even give the belt a boost in AI calculations on how often it should be defended.
  4. A few questions. 1.) Does the "willingness to kill" setting allow for selection by type? This could be helpful for allowing characters like Superman (would never kill a human, but is willing to take the gloves off for aliens like Darkseid, Doomsday, or Zod). It would also allow for situations like a character being willing to kill an animal but not a human or mutant. 2.) Is a Monster of the Week taken off the table following its one appearance, or is it able to return for a later adventure? 3.) Will there be anything like the "Era" system in TEW that will allow for global- or area-specific settings to change with the times? I'm thinking this could be useful for handling trades, since it could let you move a setting from episodic to serial storytelling over time.
  5. I wouldn't say "buried," but in a 2013 game started as 2004 TNA I did have Sting and Raven both walk on me because they weren't happy about being jobbed out to the new generation. In the end I got AJ Styles and Punk elevated to the main event by the end of the year, so it was probably worth the sacrifice.
  6. Rather than adding that onto the existing attributes, I think it's a fine idea for a pair of brand new attributes. A guy might be generous toward his opponent in the match but still hog all the attention during promos.
  7. Uncooperative - A temporary attribute, associated with low morale and unfriendly personality types. For the next 1-3 months, this worker will flatly reject any match result in which he is booked to lose (if he has creative control) or sandbag his opponent (if he doesn't). Under Pressure - A temporary attribute, associated with certain personality types receiving title wins. For the next 1-6 months, this worker takes on increased fatigue and deeper than usual morale pe alties as they struggle with the responsibility of being champion. Big Man, Big Problems - This worker's sheer size makes it difficult for him to stay in ring shape. Paid vacations and time spent unemployed will reset the clock, but if this worker spends too long on the road he will quickly get out of shape. Royale With Cheese - This worker improves at an accelerated rate when he's working matches outside his country of origin.
  8. Nemesis - This worker will reject any contract offered by a player-controlled promotion. User Friendly - This worker is more likely to negotiate with player-controlled promotions, treating those promotions as one size category larger than they actually are.

  11. I always imagine him having my dad's voice but my mom's face.

  13. I don't have a real life analogue, but I like to stick PGHW excursion guys and a couple Japanese hires and book him as head of a stable focused around being a puro badass in an American promotion. (And when Gauge is done with the TV title, he's a great pick to either join or take over the group.)
  14. How about a "Show Stealer" belt with a ten minute time limit? Every title match is a sprint.
  15. I've said this before, but the answer is Spencer Spade. He's a guy who's been labeled a hot prospect for the first decade of his career but never actually been allowed to move up the card. He's just at the pre-Stardust stage of that arc in 2020.
  16. Splitsville - You MUST respect the brand split. Brand vs brand matches are only allowed for the sake of title unification matches or a pay-per-view with a brand vs brand theme. Breaking the Cycle - By the end of the year, each brand must have a face authority figure. These authority figures can resolve disputes and book matches, but cannot have feuds of their own. You must maintain this status quo for at least one year. Switcheroo - John Cena's first world title run must be as a heel. Edge's first world title run must be as a face. Return of the King - Revive King of the Ring as your fifth big pay-per-view of the year. It takes place in June, with an eight-man single-elimination tournament taking place in the course of one night (qualification matches can take place on free TV). The winner is guaranteed a title shot at Summerslam. Let It Die - While you are permitted to run One Night Stand pay-per-views, you cannot revive ECW as its own brand. Bad Apples - As soon as possible, release Johnny Ace, Bill DeMott, and Jim Cornette. By the end of the current game month, call up or release every member of your roster on a developmental contract. Once you have done this, close down or sever your relationship with any promotions which are part of your developmental system. Twelve months later, you may rebuild your developmental system from scratch.
  17. Something else I don't see anyone else saying is that a brand split is a pretty bad idea in all but a few corner cases. You're effectively doubling your work and cutting your talent base in half for no real benefit. Consider the reason that the only real "brand splits" in history have happened, in WWE. First it was because there was no competition and too much main event talent to fit on one show. Later, it was because different networks each wanted to get an exclusive experience with talent booked as top stars. If you're booking 2000 WCW then you're not in either of those positions. If you put WWF out of business and you've suddenly found yourself with a dozen guys who can all viably main event a pay-per-view? Then you might have a reason for a brand split.
  18. John Nord is not the correct answer, but it is the answer that makes me most happy.
  19. Makes me think that in order to encourage players to figure this out Dark Angel should maybe have something that keeps him from working for those first six shows, whether it's an injury or a hiatus.
  20. Who Better? - Unless injury prevents it from happening, Chris Kanyon must main event a pay-per-view before the end of 2001. The Division - Before the end of 2002, you must introduce a women's division with ten or more active members. Completing the Set - You may not negotiate a new contract with Lance Storm unless he has first held the tag titles and the world heavyweight title. Riders, Approaching - Before the end of 2001, introduce a new Four Horsemen. All four in-ring performers in the group must have never been Horsemen before, but either Ric Flair or Arn Anderson can serve as a mouthpiece for the group. We're Taking Over - Before the end of 2001, introduce a new stable made up of three or more debuting ECW alumni. The group must stay together until one of them becomes a Star or until the end of 2002, whichever comes first. Here Comes Nepotism - Dustin Rhodes, David Flair, Teddy Hart - of these three, you must have two under contract through to the end of 2002 and one must be booked to win a world title in that time.
  21. Integrated promotions are neat! But the way they're implemented in the game doesn't necessarily reflect the reality of a lot of integrated promotions. This is why I suggest a change to the product section and also the titles section. Products The change here is that integrated promotions should be able to bias one way or another instead of evenly evaluating men and women. To this end, I propose an "Integrated - Men-Leaning" and "Integrated Women-Leaning" option in product settings which would allow for an 80-20 hiring split to be enforced by the AI. This would more accurately reflect the realities of a lot of "integrated" promotions which could be better described as men's or women's promotions with a few exceptions (thinking of Allie Kat in GCW or the way some joshi promotions bring in men for guest spots). Titles Title belts should have an option to similarly bias their title runs in favor of men or women, to allow for those belts primarily held by a man or woman to still allow for exceptions.
  22. I did these a few days ago. Big Boy Season - The first five male wrestlers you sign to full time contracts must be of at least light heavyweight size. Go For The Gold - By the end of 2021, you must introduce either a six man tag belt or women's tag belts. Down South - Pick three of the below names. Hire them, then find onscreen roles for them. - Eric Bischoff - Scott Hudson - Kevin Nash - Scott Steiner Youth In Revolt - Of Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and MJF, you must apply one of the following rules to each: - One gets to give CM Punk his first loss in an AEW ring - One gets to hold the TNT Championship for an entire year - One gets a vanity belt, but can NEVER hold the world championship - One must leave the company before the end of 2022 Gold Watch - Christopher Daniels must win championship gold before he retires from active competition. The Mothership - By the end of 2022, you must move one of your shows to Saturday and claim the top rating spot in its time slot for an entire month. Good Neighbor - You must agree not to steal talent from Impact, NJPW, NWA, and MLW, then honor those agreements through to the end of 2023.
