  4. Mark Briscoe Suffers Injury News is coming out from the Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions that Mark Briscoe suffered a major injury in the duo’s title defense at 20th Anniversary. Briscoe took a bad bump during the match and has suffered a separated shoulder. Doctors have said that Briscoe will miss at least several weeks, but the exact timeline is not known yet. The Briscoes will continue to hold the titles for the time being, but Danhausen has stated that if the injury stretches into a more long term issue the titles may be stripped from The Briscoes and a solution will be found if that time comes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Around the World of Wrestling April Week 1, 2022 Tuesday Our weekly retirements continue as two wrestlers who most fans didn’t realize were still active wrestlers in 2022. The first is a tag team legend, Ricky Morton. One half of the Rock n’ Roll Express Morton and his partner Robert Gibson were mainstays in 1980’s NWA. Danhausen is sad to see the team going away, but he thinks Robert Gibson will finally get his chance at being a singles wrestler and will be a World Champion somewhere in no time. The other wrestler hanging up his boots is Scott Norton. Norton was heavily featured in the 90’s in NJPW and as the muscle behind the nWo. Wednesday AEW Dynamite didn’t run their strongest show as of late as the show as a whole was only rated a 72, but it was notable because the TNT Championship changed hands for the first time this year. In the main event Andrade defeated Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin in a triple threat match to win the title that was rated as an 80. Friday WWE’s final show before their two day WrestleMania saw the Smackdown Tag Team Championships change hands as The Usos defeated the New Day to win the championships in a match rated as a 70. The main event of the evening saw Sami Zayn defend his Intercontinental Championship against Apollo Crews in a 65 rated match. The show as a whole was rated at a 70. Saturday WWE held WrestleMania Saturday and the show was rated a 79. The main event of night one of the yearly extravaganza saw Brock Lesnar defeat Drew McIntyre to retain his WWE Championship and get his revenge from the main event two years ago in a match rated an 82. The Raw Women’s Championship changed hands as Alexa Bliss defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match to bring an end to Lynch’s historic title reign. The match came in as a 79. Royal Rumble match winner Randy Orton didn’t receive a title shot at WrestleMania, instead teaming with Matt Riddle to retain their tag titles against Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss in another 79 rated match. The Smackdown Women’s Championship also saw a WrestleMania rematch as Charlotte Flair defended her title against Asuka in a 78 rated match. Finally in a non title match Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in a match rated at 81. Sunday Night Two of WrestleMania saw a head scratcher as the main event of the biggest show of the year as Brock Lesnar successfully defended his WWE Championship for a second straight night, this time defeating Happy Corbin in a 79 rated match, which was also the rating for the show as a whole. The undercard also saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns reuniting with Seth Rollins to defeat the unique team of AJ Styles and Goldberg in another 79 rated match. The match of the night went to a rematch from the night before as Kevin Owens again defeated Sami Zayn in non-title action and it was rated an 81. Danhausen said after 8 hours of WWE in two nights he was ready for a stiff drink and some sleep. New Japan also held a big event on Sunday that rated better than both nights of WrestleMania as an 83 overall. Sakura Genesis was headlined by a match for the United States Championship that saw Okada defeat KENTA in an 85 rated main event to win the championship from him. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ring of Honor Wrestling Preview Friday, April Week 2, 2022 vs. After defending the World Championship against EC3 at 20th Anniversary Jonathan Gresham returns to action this week on Ring of Honor Wrestling as he takes on former stable mate Tracy Williams in what promises to be a main event that technical wrestling fans from around the world will love. Gresham and Williams were both members of The Foundation, but the group peacefully dissolved as Ring of Honor was rebooted at the beginning of the year. Both men have great amounts of respect for each other and know each other very well so it should be a great main event. Williams was also victorious at the previous pay-per-view, so if he can pick up a victory over the World Champion he would vault straight to the front of the line for a title opportunity down the road. vs. The first match for the special edition of Ring of Honor Wrestling: Supercard was set last week as Rok-C announced she’d be in a rematch for the title as she would try to win it back from Athena at the special edition of television at the end of the month. With the women’s division heating up there are many contenders for that championship, and we will see them in action this week as Rok-C will team up with Taya Valkyrie and Narrative member Mia Yim to take on Women’s World Champion Athena and her partners Taylor Wilde and Katarina Waters. These six women all want to be at the top of the revamped women’s division in Ring of Honor, and you have to believe that will pull out all the stops to impress in this big six woman tag match. vs. Keith Lee confronted the entirety of Shane Taylor Promotions last week and warned them that if they were going to protect their leader he would go through them one by one until he gets his hands on Taylor. Lee’s quest continues this week as he faces off with O’Shay Edwards in one-on-one action. Last week in his victory over Moses, the three remaining members of STP tried to stick their nose in the match, but Lee was able to overcome the odds and defeat the first member of the group. He will have to likely deal with the same tonight as Edwards won’t be coming to the ring alone. If he is in fact going to get his hands on the man that stabbed him in the back at 20th Anniversary he’s still got a lot of work to do.
  5. Ring of Honor Wrestling Friday, April Week 1, 2022 Tri-State Region Attendance: 357 55,154 views on HonorClub Ring of Honor Wrestling kicks off this week with Danhausen already in the ring, politely waving to the fans who are cheering him, ready to kick off the show and excited to see the fallout from 20th Anniversary. Danhausen Thank you everybody! Danhausen welcomes you to Ring of Honor Wrestling after a great pay-per-view last night. We saw Jonathan Gresham defend the World Championship against EC3, we saw a new Women’s World Champion in Athena, and to finish the night we saw a great match between Johnny Gargano and Chris Hero. To close things out we saw the dastardly Killer Kross show up, Danhausen’s apologies for not believing you Johnny, and then shockingly see him assaulted by Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa is now a part of Ring of Honor, and Danhausen had to keep that very secret or he said he’d make my unbroken leg match my broken one. Very scary that Ciampa, but very effective if Danhausen says so himself. Now without further ado, Danhausen would love to hear from that man. Ladies and gentle humans, Tommaso Ciampa! The newest member of the Ring of Honor makes his way out onto the stage, and the crowd gives him a huge ovation, but he seems to pay it no mind as he looks around the arena then slowly stalks to the ring, where he joins Danhausen in the ring and accepts the microphone from him. Tommaso Ciampa It’s been a long time, I didn’t know if I’d ever step foot back in a Ring of Honor ring. But here we are. Things were going great for me, then I was tasked with holding a bunch of rookies hands and getting them through a show. That’s all fine and good, but that’s not what I’m looking for in my career. I’m Tommaso Ciampa. I’m an ass kicker, not a teacher. Then I looked and people like my good friend Johnny Gargano were here in Ring of Honor putting on fantastic matches and I wanted a piece of that. Then conveniently enough I see my friend Johnny having a little bit of a stalker problem. Johnny knew who it was, I knew who it was. We all came from the same place, Kross has had the same M.O. for quite some time. And I’ll be damned if I was going to sit back and watch him destroy my friend. Thankfully he decided to bide his time, and while he played his little game I signed with Ring of Honor and just sat and waited for him to make his move, and when he did it was time to pounce. With that the music of Johnny Gargano hits. He shows no interest in greeting the fans or celebrating after his big victory over Chris Hero at the pay-per-view. He comes straight down to the ring and immediately begins to address Ciampa. Johnny Gargano If we are such good friends then why couldn’t you call me to tell me that you were coming to Ring of Honor? I had no clue that you coming here. I had just finished a grueling match and was staring down death and his girlfriend coming to try to take a piece out of me. I was ready to put up the fight of my life when I was just as shocked as everyone else that you jumped the rail and took him out. While I appreciate the sentiment you know that I would have preferred to handle that situation like a man. Or at least been given a heads up and we could have faced off to him side-by-side. But no, I have to watch someone who I consider family sneak up and claim to be protecting me. I don’t need your protection, and if you are going to be this version of Tommaso I don’t know if I need your friendship. I hear you are in the main event tonight. Good luck in it but leave me out of it. Gargano then drops the microphone at Ciampa’s feet and exits the ring with his hands up in the air, showing that he doesn’t want anything to do with Ciampa and exits. Ciampa stands with his hands on his hips, looking annoyed that Gargano didn’t thank him for the assist the night before. Ian Riccaboni Oh my, that definitely didn’t go the way that Tommaso thought it would. He thought he was doing a favor for a friend but it looks like it may have blown up in his face. Ciampa hasn’t been known to be the most stable human being, especially during his years here in Ring of Honor. It’ll be interesting to see how he and Gargano’s friendship turns from here. And what will Killer Kross think of this strife between friends? Has his hit list expanded to two? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Ring of Honor Television Championship Rey Horus © vs. Dragon Lee Horus’s Backstory The champion was supposed to defend his title against Dragon Lee at the pay-per-view last week, but after the attack from Brody King the match was postponed until tonight. He is looking to make the first defense of the Television Championship that he won from Samuray del Sol last month. He has been one of the numerous luchadors that seem to have gravitated towards the Television Championship in recent months, and he leads the group as he holds the title. Lee’s Backstory Dragon Lee has been in the thick of action in Ring of Honor recently, including two great matches against Bandido in recent weeks. He defeated Horus in a non-title match, earning this shot at the title, then with the help of Brody King he was able to win his match against Bandido to keep him out of the title match. He has been very dangerous in both ROH and NJPW and is a major threat to take the Television Title in it’s first defense from Horus. The Finish After some fast and furious action that saw both men taking lots of risks to go home with the championship, Rey Horus put Lee down with a sunset flip bomb, then went up top and connected on a 450 Splash to retain his championship. Winner and Still Television Champion: Rey Horus Time: 17:49 Rating: 63 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Breezus vs. Silas Young Breezus’s Backstory Breezus has been on an up and down ride since joining Ring of Honor back in January. He looked to have gained some traction with the formation of a team with Dalton Castle. While the duo looked strong initially, they have suffered from some serious chemistry issues and have been on the losing end frequently lately, leading to both men becoming frustrated. Young’s Backstory Silas Young has been one of the holdouts from the old Ring of Honor that have kind of been lost in the shuffle. He hasn’t appeared much on television lately, and when he does he usually comes out on the short end of the stick. The fans know how talented he is and any given night could be when he gets back on track. The Finish Young was in control of much of the match, but Dalton Castle made his way down to the ring. He didn’t interfere in any way but it seemed to be enough to get Silas off of his game, and before he knew it Breezus connected with the Beauty Shot to get the victory. Winner: Breezus Time: 12:12 Rating: 58 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Castle gave Breezus a round of applause from the outside, then grabbed a microphone as he entered the ring to address his teammates victory. Dalton Castle Very impressive Breezy! How come you can’t do that when we team together? Ever since we’ve been teaming together it’s been nothing but loss after loss. Do you know who I am? I’m Dalton Castle and I don’t put up with losers! You would have lost that match too if I didn’t come down and distract that oaf. This little team? It’s over! Castle then throws the microphone up in the air, and as Breezus goes to catch it Castle charges and nearly takes his head off with a vicious clothesline. He then picks Breezus up and hits the Bang-a-Rang on him, leaving him in a heap as he talked trash and exited the ring. Caprice Coleman Oh my goodness, Dalton Castle just dumped Breezus and left him lying. We thought this team had the potential to be something special, but we should have known that Dalton Castle’s ego would get in the way! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We go backstage where the camera picks up Keith Lee walking with a purpose down a hallway, when he comes up the entirety of Shane Taylor Promotions giving Moses a pep talk before he takes on Lee in one-on-one action. As Lee walks up on the group, Kaun, Moses and O’Shay Edwards quickly form a wall between Taylor and Lee as if they knew what was coming. Keith Lee That’s how you are going to play it? Too scared to face the consequences of your actions? I know this is how you operate. I hear that I’ve got Moses first. I hope that he’s paying you three well because I’ll take every one of you out if it means I get my hands on him. Moses, you’re first. I’ll see you out there big boy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Keith Lee vs. Moses Lee’s Backstory When Keith Lee returned to Ring of Honor it was at the side of his longtime partner Shane Taylor. They were very successful and quickly earned a Tag Team Title match, but it was Taylor’s insistence that they cheat to succeed that caused Lee to question reforming The PBK with Taylor. Before Lee could do anything about his partner’s ways Taylor stabbed him in the back, putting a huge target on his back in the process. The Limitless one is now flying solo in Ring of Honor, and he has a massive chip on his shoulder, a combination that could spell trouble for the rest of the Ring of Honor roster. Moses’s Backstory Moses is part of the Soldiers of Savagery with Kaun, and together they are part of Shane Taylor Promotions. He’s been sitting under the learning tree of Taylor and Lee for awhile, and tonight he’ll need to use everything he’s learned and then some to be able to stand toe to toe with one of the more imposing figures in professional wrestling. The Finish Every member of Shane Taylor Promotions tried to stick their nose in this match, and eventually they were all ejected from ringside, leaving Moses to deal with Lee one-on-one. This spelled doom for Moses. Even though he put up a good fight Lee was able to physically dominate him without the distractions at ringside and got the win with the Spirit Bomb. Winner: Keith Lee Time: 11:38 Rating: 57 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We go to the locker room of The Narrative, where EC3 seems ready to give another inspirational speech to The Titan and Mia Yim. Before he can begin to talk though The Titan stands up and reminds him that he’s the leader now, then directs EC3 to a chair, and he begrudgingly complies with The Titan’s request. The Titan Today starts a new day for The Narrative. Our mission doesn’t change, and our message is still the same. We are going to make those who threw us aside regret it until the day they die. But we are going to be going about things a different way. No longer do we complain until we get our way. We are going to start from the bottom, and we are going to destroy anybody standing in our path until Ring of Honor can’t help but notice us, then we take what we want. Tonight me and you are going to go out there and utterly dominate an old school ROH team and show everybody why we are superior. Tonight starts a new chapter in our story, and these are the hands that are going to write it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. The Bouncers vs. The Narrative The Bouncers’ Backstory This is the first time that the Beer City Bruiser and Brawler Milonas have been seen on Ring of Honor television since the reboot of the promotion under Danhausen, and they drew a very tough matchup as they have to face an angry Titan and EC3 after EC3’s unsuccessful title challenge against Jonathan Gresham at 20th Anniversary. They are going out there to show that the original teams in ROH can stand up to the newer signings of the company. The Narrative’s Backstory EC3 went into his World Title match very confident that he would be walking out as champion, but it wasn’t to be as Jonathan Gresham was able to outlast him and avoid any trouble from The Titan to keep his title. After the match The Titan took leadership of the group by force, and tonight starts a new story for them as they look to regain footing and get back in the winner’s circle. The Finish This match was never really close. EC3 took his frustrations out on both men, and when The Titan was able to get into the ring he utterly dominated every second of the action. He took both men down with chokeslams, then as possibly a goodwill gesture to his teammate he tagged in EC3 and he hit a One Percenter to get the victory for The Narrative. Winners: The Narrative Time: 8:31 Rating: 47 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Max the Impaler vs. Rok-C Max’s Backstory Max the Impaler is a very imposing figure in the women’s division, and she makes her first appearance in the rebooted version of Ring of Honor. She has a great opportunity to score a victory here against Rok-C, who held the Women’s World Championship up until her loss at 20th Anniversary last week. Rok-C’s Backstory Rok-C had a very impressive first title reign with the Women’s World Championship, but she lost it at 20th Anniversary. She’s wasting no time here in trying to get her momentum built back up, showing she’s not going to be dwelling on her title loss for too long. She does face a unique challenge here though as not many people know what to expect from Max since her time away from ROH. The Finish While Max spent most of the time imposing her will on Rok-C, it didn’t take long for the former champion's talent to shine through, and after a very impressive showing she hit The Prodigy to pick up a big victory. Winner: Rok-C Time: 8:09 Rating: 44 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Rok-C celebrates her victory, but then grabs a microphone from ringside to address her loss of the Women’s World Championship. Rok-C As most of you know I’m usually a woman of action and few words. Well tonight I’ve got something to say. Athena, congratulations on winning the World Championship from me. I’m proud to say that if anybody was going to beat me for it that it was someone with a pedigree like you. But I’m not going to just sit back while you walk around with my championship. In four weeks we are having a special Supercard edition of Ring of Honor Wrestling. Let me be the first to sign my name to a title match at that special edition of TV. It’s going to be Athena vs. Rok-C, and this time the title is coming back home! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Joe Hennig vs. Tommaso Ciampa Hennig’s Backstory Joe Hennig joined Ring of Honor back in January, and he has been on a mission to make his family name proud. He has had ups and downs throughout his time in the promotion, but always delivers good matches when he is put in big matches like the main event here tonight. He has a wealth of knowledge that he is passing along to the younger members of ROH as well, but in the tail end of his full time career he is certainly looking to still make his own mark on the industry. Ciampa’s Backstory Tonight is the official return to Ring of Honor for Tommaso Ciampa, who shockingly returned to help his friend Johnny Gargano escape an assault from Killer Kross at 20th Anniversary. As seen earlier tonight Gargano didn’t even know that Ciampa had left WWE and would be helping him in his inevitable battle with Kross. Ciampa was a very accomplished wrestler while in Ring of Honor, but since leaving the promotion he has developed to one of the best ring generals in the world. The Finish Both men showed signs that they were going to take control of the match and bring things to a finish, but ultimately it was Ciampa who used several very stiff strikes to stagger Hennig, then hit the Fairy Tale Ending to get the three count. Winner: Tommaso Ciampa Time: 18:47 Rating: 64 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Ciampa had his hand raised in victory, but the mood quickly changed as the lights went dark, then the familiar red light and smoke filled the stage. Scarlett Bordeaux slowly parted the smoke as she walked out onto the ramp, and behind her was the frightening figure of Killer Kross, who looked like he was about to live up to his name as he stared a hole in Ciampa. The duo slowly marched down to the ring as Ciampa was getting ready to do battle, and fans couldn’t help but notice that he was looking towards the stage and around the crowd, possibly expecting his friend Johnny Gargano to repay the favor and give him a hand. Scarlett then pointed Kross towards the ring, and he got up on the apron and entered the ring, and it was apparent Ciampa was going to go about this alone, even though he was still looking around looking for his friend. Scarlett let out an evil laugh and like that Kross was like a shark in the water. He overwhelmed Ciampa with massive strikes. Ciampa tried to fight back, then resorted to covering up to try and lessen the blow of the strikes from Kross. It started to fall apart though as Ciampa still was looking towards the ramp for Gargano, but he wasn’t going to come to Ciampa’s aid. As Ciampa was starting to reel from the strikes Kross dragged him out of the corner then spiked him to the mat with a very high angle Saito Suplex. He followed that up by locking in the Kross Jacket. Ciampa struggled for a short time but eventually stopped moving as Kross stared a hole in the camera as he released an unconscious Ciampa from the chokehold. Ian Riccaboni Killer Kross has finally struck, and his first victim is Tommaso Ciampa. And it looks like Ciampa was expecting some help there but it never came. If this first strike is anything to go by, Killer Kross and Scarlett mean business, and all Ciampa did at 20th Anniversary was delay the inevitable and anger the beast! Final Rating: 63
  6. Been working on catching up with this and really enjoy your work. Love the feel you have going on with it. Keep up the good work and excited to get to where I can start predicting in it! 7. Rush was already gone in mine to start. Bandido, Brody King, Horus, Flamita, Dragon Lee and Rocky Romero all have contracts where they choose the other promotions over me when it comes to booking conflicts so I don’t get to feature them as much as I’d like. Part of why I had that wave of signings in the first few months, trying to lock down some people to exclusive contracts that I don’t have to worry if they are going to have a show pop up while I’m planning out a PPV. A few times I’ve had them look available when I plan the show, then look a few weeks later and all of a sudden they aren’t available.
  8. Ring of Honor Wrestling Preview Friday, April Week 1, 2022 vs. Fresh off the heels of Ring of Honor’s 20th Anniversary event another episode of television kicks off the 2nd quarter of action under Danhausen. The Television Championship was supposed to be contested at the pay-per-view, but due to Brody King’s attack on Rey Horus that match didn’t happen. Instead with a week of recovery time Rey Horus will put the title on the line tonight against Dragon Lee. Is Horus back to 100 percent a week removed from the vicious attack, or will Dragon Lee take advantage and end Horus’s title reign in his first defense? vs. Last week’s pay-per-view went off the air under shocking circumstances as Tommaso Ciampa came to the aid of his good friend Johnny Gargano as he was staring down an attack from Killer Kross. It has been confirmed that Ciampa is now officially part of the Ring of Honor roster, and he’s wasting no time getting back into the ring as he will be taking on Joe Hennig in what promises to be a great main event matchup. Smart money would say that Killer Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux and Johnny Gargano won’t be far off from this one either. vs. In other shocking actions from the pay-per-view Shane Taylor grew frustrated of his partner Keith Lee not wanting to take shortcuts to the Tag Team Championships, so he ended that partnership by taking Lee out after they lost the matchup against The Briscoes. Word is that Keith Lee has been seething all week, ready to get his hands on Shane Taylor. Taylor is known for having layers of protection though, and tonight Lee must start to go through these as he takes on Shane Taylor Promotions member Moses.

  11. Glad to see you back posting! Thanks for the picks on the PPV too. That's kind of the imagery I was going for, figured I better stick with a pipe though instead of an actual gun haha. Mine definitely isn't your typical ROH game as I have the infusion of money from Conan buying ROH and giving Danhausen kind of a sandbox to play in. Makes me chuckle to see Tony Khan buy it now and Danhausen joke around about Tony giving him Ring of Honor. I want to tweet them or something and be like well you might want to check out this idea I had a few months before. I feel like the roster has been built up to where I want it since it's more of a reboot than a continuation of ROH, but I feel like the spirit of ROH is still in there with a lot of the talent that I kept around. Can't wait to see where they actually go with their upcoming show and how Tony is going to handle them. Could be an exciting time.
  12. Tommaso Ciampa Officially Member of Ring of Honor Ring of Honor’s 20th Anniversary show came to a shocking close when Killer Kross finally appeared in person and seemed intent on carrying out the assault of Johnny Gargano that he and Scarlett Bordeaux have been warning of for several weeks. As he prepared to enter the ring for a waiting Gargano he was attacked by Tommaso Ciampa, who came from the stands wielding a pipe and kept Kross from carrying out his attack, shocking the fans and Johnny Gargano alike. After this shocking counterattack on Kross, we’ve learned that Tommaso Ciampa is indeed officially part of the Ring of Honor roster for the first time in years. Ciampa has a storied history in Ring of Honor, where he wrestled from 2011 to 2015, holding the Television Championship during his first run with the company. It has been revealed that Ciampa’s contract was up with his previous employer WWE, and the two sides decided not to sign a new contract. When his time with the company expired he quietly left without an official statement from either side, making him appearing on a Ring of Honor pay-per-view even more of a shock. From the looks of things even his close friend Johnny Gargano had no clue that Ciampa was going to be coming to his aid as Kross beared down on him. With this new addition to the Ring of Honor roster being thrust right into the conflict between Gargano and Kross, where will Kross and Scarlett’s attention turn now? Will they continue their hunt of Johnny Gargano or will the vengeful Kross now want to get his hands on the man who left him laying on the floor on his Ring of Honor debut? How will Gargano react to Ciampa coming to his rescue and not letting him know about it beforehand? One thing is for certain, as the weather starts to warm up with the coming of spring, so is the action in Ring of Honor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Around the World of Wrestling March Week 4, 2022 Wednesday AEW Dynamite was a special episode this week, with Hangman Page defending his AEW World Championship on television. He was able to turn back another challenger as he defeated Chris Jericho in the main event. The match would be rated at a 79. Danhausen was on the edge of his seat during the match, and mentioned to us several times that he is a close personal confidant of that Chris Judas fellow. Friday Bad news for WWE as one of their bigger stars will be out for the upcoming WrestleMania. Bobby Lashley has been diagnosed with a hernia, and with the danger of wrestling with that injury he has been ruled out for several months as he has surgery to correct the issue. That’s bad news for the former WWE Champion as WrestleMania would have been a great ending to what’s been his strongest year within the WWE. 2022 continues to be the year of the retirement as Bob “Hardcore” Holly has announced he’s retiring from wrestling. Holly will be remembered for his great run during the Hardcore Championship era and his memorable feud with Brock Lesnar over the WWE Championship. He still says to this day that WWE should have just made him World Champion and watched the money roll in. With this news rookies around the world of wrestling can be heard giving a collective sigh of relief with him no longer lurking around locker rooms anymore.
  13. Ring of Honor 20th Anniversary Saturday, March Week 4, 2022 Mid Atlantic Region Attendance: 964 Pay-Per-View Buys on Fite: 14,122 vs. Bandido vs. Dragon Lee Our pay-per-view kicks off with a rematch from a few episodes of Ring of Honor television back where Dragon Lee was able to come out on top of Bandido, but he got a big assist from Brody King. King won’t be here tonight because of his attack that led to the injury of Rey Horus and his own suspension. With both men’s matches changed by King’s attack this left them to face off with each other once again, and with things being more equal this time it would likely go a long way towards the title picture in ROH. Both men brought the fast paced and high octane action that the fans expect from the great luchadors of Ring of Honor, and there were several times that both men could have capitalized and came out on top. Things ended up going differently this time around though as Dragon Lee tried one too many high risk moves, which Bandido were able to turn around to his advantage. He finished things off as he played possum while Dragon Lee headed to the top, then Bandido delivered a huge step up enziguri to Lee on the top, then brought him down with the Revolution Fly for the three count. Winner: Bandido Time: 18:47 Rating: 69 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Mia Yim vs. Taya Valkyrie These two women are still relatively new to Ring of Honor, and with this being both of their first pay-per-view matches for the company they were fighting tooth and nail to come out on top in this one. Yim, who represents The Narrative, came out with her very hard hitting and aggressive style, but Valkyrie showed her superior strength as she withstood a barrage from Yim and came out fighting. She looked very strong throughout the match, but Yim is a seasoned veteran and while she was taking offense from Valkyrie, she never allowed herself to be hit with anything that would put her down for the count. The crowd was behind Valkyrie as she hit several visually impressive moves on Yim, plus the crowd associates Mia Yim with EC3, and that goes a long way to getting you on their bad side. After some more back and forth action Yim was able to get Valkyrie down on the mat on her stomach, and as Taya struggled to get back up Mia locked her in hit a curb stomp that finally put her on top and secured the victory for her. Winner: Mia Yim Time: 13:56 Rating: 49 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Breezus and Dalton Castle vs. Mascara Dorada and Samuray del Sol This matchup features two teams with very different momentum heading into this match. Breezus and Castle started teaming a few months ago, and from the get go it was obvious that they weren’t on the same page as they haven’t shown any signs of developing chemistry together. Dorada and Samuray continued to be a model of chemistry though as they hit many awe inspiring double team moves on both men, and they had the advantage for the majority of the match. The crowd cheered as they brought the fast paced offense to the opponents, especially the overly confident Dalton Castle. There was a small glimmer of hope as Castle took a few shortcuts to get the advantage, but that was short lived as Samuray was able to get him isolated and hit the Salida del Sol, followed up by Dorada walking the ropes then dropping a huge flying legdrop on him to give his team the victory. Winners: Mascara Dorada and Samuray del Sol Time: 16:50 Rating: 56 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Josh Woods vs. Tracy Williams Neither man were scheduled to appear on this pay-per-view twenty four hours ago, but after the actions of Brody King changed a pair of matches they were added at the last minute, and they didn’t disappoint as they put on a throwback pure style wrestling match for the fans at 20th Anniversary. Both men showed why they starred in that division, even though they have failed to gain much footing in this new iteration of Ring of Honor. That didn’t stop them from chain wrestling like we haven’t seen since the relaunch of ROH, and it wasn’t clear who was going to come out on top, but the fans were giving them solid applause after each stretch of moves and countermoves from both men. There were many chances for both men to turn it into a striking affair, but they both refrained and continued the technical masterclass they were putting on inside the ropes. The finish came as Woods tried a go behind on Williams, but Williams was able to capture his arm, then fell to the mat with it and locked in his signature crossface. Woods struggled for a short amount of time, but he wasn’t able to escape the hold and was forced to submit. Winner: Tracy Williams Time: 17:06 Rating: 54 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships The Briscoes © vs. The PBK The Briscoes have faced many dangerous opponents throughout the years, but not many of them equal a returning Keith Lee and his partner Shane Taylor. Lee has developed so far in his years away from Ring of Honor, and it showed as he started the match out for the challengers and was physically dominating for several minutes to start things, nearly pinning each of the champions and single handedly winning the title for his team. Taylor was more than happy to let Lee handle the physical work, but that started to take it’s toll as The Briscoes started to get their bearings against the big man and starting to chop him down to size using their unique double team offense. Eventually Lee had to make the tag to Taylor, and as hard as he tried to stay away from the offense of the champions he wasn’t able to, and they quickly wore him down as well as they had the clear upper hand in the match. Mark and Jay continued the assault for awhile, but Lee started to build up some steam on the apron, and for as much as the fans loathed his partner, they wanted to see him come into the ring and clean house. They got what they wanted as Taylor was able to get some separation with a poke to the eye of Mark Briscoe. Keith Lee then stormed into the ring and was like a train barrelling down the tracks. The highlight of his offense came as he avoided a double clothesline from The Briscoes, then charged at them and pounced them both nearly out of the ring. With his team having an advantage he made the tag to Taylor, who eventually gave that advantage back. But that’s when things turned. Taylor saw his opening with he went to hit a corner splash on Jay Briscoe, but the referee was out of position and took the brunt of the force. As the match broke down into all four men brawling Taylor saw his opening and went outside and grabbed a steel chair. He wound up for the chair shot, but his partner saw this move coming and stepped in front of his teammates attempt at blatant cheating. Taylor was irate at Lee stopping him from finishing things off, and it was then that The Briscoes double dropkicked Lee out of the picture. Taylor then went for the chair shot but the champions avoided it, then hit a huge spike piledriver on Taylor as the referee came around and counted the three. Winners and still ROH Tag Team Champions: The Briscoes Time: 18:17 Rating: 63 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match The Briscoes celebrated with their championships as the crowd gave them a standing ovation for overcoming the attempt from Shane Taylor to steal the tag team championships from them by cheating. As they started to make their way to the back Keith Lee slowly started to get back into the ring, looking furious that he had to step in and stop his partner from taking yet another shortcut instead of working for the titles, like Lee had stated that he wanted them to do. He got in the ring and helped Taylor up to his feet, questioning why he would do that when they had such a strong showing in the title match up to that point. After some back and forth Lee put his hands up in the air then motioned that he’d had enough of this partnership and turned his back on Taylor and started to walk towards the back. That’s where he went wrong. Taylor quickly picked up the chair that was still in the ring and unloaded with a shot to the back of Lee that reverberated throughout the whole arena. Ian Ricabonni Shane Taylor just absolutely unloaded with that chair shot on Keith Lee! The PBK is ending as quickly as they got back together! Keith Lee is a man of honor, he didn’t need these underhanded tactics that Taylor seems to be reliant on. When Taylor realized that he wasn’t going to be able to make his friend see things his way he just threw years of friendship right out the window. Taylor may be the man left standing, but I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when Keith Lee realizes what just happened. There’s going to be hell to pay! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship Rok-C © vs. Athena Wrestling legend Booker T must be looking on with pride as these two women square off for the top prize for the women in Ring of Honor here at 20th Anniversary. The legend trained both women in the squared circle, but Athena has years of experience on the champion, and she would need it in this battle as Rok-C has serious major league skills, and she’s still only twenty years old. The two women wasted no time as they locked horns in the middle of the ring and it was clear that Athena had a strength advantage as well as she locked Rok-C into the corner several times. Rok-C didn’t become Women’s Champion by luck though and as she started to find her footing she showed why. She used her great speed and technical ability to repeatedly gain the upperhand on Athena, putting her face down on the mat several times. She would quickly follow up with several grounded submission attempts to Athena, attempting to end Athena’s title challenge by submission. Athena showed her fighting spirit though as she was able to power out of several of Rok-C’s attempts at submissions, and she would counter into a power move of her own. A particularly impressive counter came as Rok-C had a triangle choke in when Athena powered to her feet, then without breaking the hold lifted the champion up and delivered a thunderous powerbomb. The crowd thought that would bring an end to things but it wasn’t meant to be as Rok-C was able to kick out at 2. Things went back and forth for a few minutes, but came to a finish as Rok-C saw an opening to honor the trainer of both women and kicked Athena in the gut, then went for an axe kick on the challenger. Athena was able to get out of the way in time though and hit a beautiful jumping side kick like her mentor that brought the champion down. Athena then quickly made her way to the top rope as the fans shot to their feet. As they collectively held their breath she flew off the top and connected with The Eclipse, then three seconds later she had brought the title reign of Rok-C to an end. Winner and NEW Women’s World Champion: Athena Time: 16:39 Rating: 55 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Ring of Honor World Championship Jonathan Gresham © vs. EC3 w/ The Titan The two men in this title match couldn’t have gotten more different responses as they came out for this highly anticipated World Championship match. EC3 came out shadowed by The Titan to a chorus of boos, as they die hard Ring of Honor fans don’t want to see him leaving with the World Championship. Gresham received a hero’s welcome as he pointed to the challenger and his second saying that it’s over for them tonight. The match started with EC3 not wanting any part of Gresham, who kept trying to instigate a lockup with the challenger. EC3 had done his homework though and knew that he couldn’t get into a battle of grapples with the champion, and he didn’t fully engage in battle until Gresham was distracted by the monstrous Titan at ringside and EC3 was able to unload a hard strike to the champion. EC3 then wasted no time to lock in a headlock on Gresham, and yelled at fans at ringside that he’s the best technical wrestler in the world. The challenger started to get confident as he was able to ground the champion, but like many times in his career his overconfidence started to come back to bite him as Gresham wrestled his way right back into the match and then gained the advantage as he stretched EC3 in every way imaginable as The Titan looked on at ringside, not exactly showing confidence that the leader of The Narrative was going to be able to escape all these holds from the champion. Eventually he used his power and size advantage over Gresham and powered his way out of a hold then spiked Gresham with a DDT. He learned from his past mistakes and quickly got Gresham up to his feet, where he was waiting and spiked him with the One Percenter. The crowd counted along with the referee but were shocked when he only made it to two, Gresham kicked out at the last second. EC3 reverted back to his ways of complaining when he doesn’t get his way and got in the face of the referee, then ignored the warning from his Narrative teammate Titan that Gresham was up on his feet. Gresham looked like a man possessed and staggered EC3 with a headbutt that sounded like a chair shot. EC3 was completely staggered as Gresham locked in the Octopus Lock. The Titan was up on the apron reaching out for EC3, but he quickly collapsed in the middle of the ring, and before long he was tapping out, ending his title hopes. Winner and still Ring of Honor World Champion: Jonathan Gresham Time: 19:42 Rating: 65 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match the crowd went crazy as Gresham grabbed his title from ringside and celebrated with the fans after a hard fought victory that no one was really sure that he would be able to get. EC3 looked beyond frustrated in the ring as The Titan stepped over the top rope to console his partner in this very tough defeat. Gresham held the title high in the air on the turnbuckles as the crowd showered him with cheers, but it was clear EC3 wasn’t done with his action for the night and he began to stalk the champion. The shock came though when The Titan stepped between Gresham and EC3 and calmly backed him off from doing something he may regret after Gresham just handled him in their title match. Gresham sensed the danger and quickly got out of the ring and started to head to the back when EC3 got the microphone from ringside. EC3 What in the hell do you think you are doing? He got lucky in that match and I was about to show him who the better man is, and you have the guts to stand between your leader and what he wants?!? The crowd then audibly gasps as The Titan rips the microphone away from the leader of The Narrative and begins to speak. The Titan What do I think I’m doing? I do whatever the hell I want! You know that better than anybody. We’ve been up and down every road together for years. So when you called and said you needed somebody by your side in Ring of Honor and built The Narrative I was on board. But the past few months something started to become obvious to me, and tonight your failure made me sure of it. I believe in what we are doing here, the story is ours to write. But you aren’t the right man to be leading the charge. I am! EC3 looks shocked by this statement and grabs the microphone back to respond. EC3 You are the right man to lead our group? What makes you think that? The Titan wastes no time in responding by grabbing EC3 around the throat and pulling the microphone, with EC3’s arm still attached up close. The Titan Does that start to answer your question? I thought you knew better. I’m not some dumb muscle that’s going to stand behind while somebody else takes credit for my work. You are lucky you are my friend or you’d be a skid mark on the mat right now. This moment is a crossroad for you. You can either fall in line and accept the fact that The Narrative is better with me doing the writing, or I can finish what I just started. With that EC3 throws his hands up in defeat as The Titan looks pleased as he releases the chokehold on what is apparently now the former leader of The Narrative. The two men start to head to the back, but now The Titan leads the way with EC3 standing in his very sizable shadow. It looks like The Narrative is alive and well, but leadership just changed hands, and the wrestlers of Ring of Honor may be in for more doom then they could have feared, because the hands of The Narrative are now in control of a very angry Titan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Main Event Chris Hero vs. Johnny Gargano With so much intrigue surrounding this match the Commisionerhausen had no choice but to name it the main event of the evening. On the surface it’s a dream match between a past generation of Ring of Honor greats in Chris Hero taking on one of the leaders of the new generation of Ring of Honor greats, Johnny Gargano. When you dig further into this matchup though you see all the layers surrounding Gargano. Scarlett Bordeaux and now Killer Kross have made their presence known, and Gargano was looking over his shoulder from the opening bell of the match. Not only does he have the threat of Kross to deal with, he has one of the most dangerous knockout artists in wrestling standing across from him. The two men took some time to feel each other out, and the crowd cheered as Hero would lock Gargano in a complicated hold, then Gargano would contort his body and escape. Gargano was able to roll Hero up a little further into the match, and that nearfall set things into overdrive for the first time in the match as the strikes began. The two men traded blows back and forth, but Gargano realized he likely wasn’t going to be able to stand toe-to-toe with Hero and he took him down at the shins, then forced him outside the ring. It was then that Gargano got a head of steam and dove through the ropes and sent Hero crashing into the barricade. The match stayed on the outside for some time as they fought around the ring and one of the men would break the referee’s count when it got close. After using the ring apron, post and steps as a weapon, both men slowly got back into the ring and continued to get after it hard. The crowd grew increasingly hot as they couldn’t wait to see how things would end, even well after the twenty minute mark. The match carried on but the crowd didn’t want to see them quit fighting. Things started to come to a climax as Hero had an advantage, and went for the knockout spinning elbow from behind, but Gargano sensed it and ducked down and got a knee bar on Hero. Gargano stayed on top as he charged at Hero as he struggled to get up and nailed a shining wizard. Hero looked to be out cold, but for good measure he locked in the Gargano Escape. Hero didn’t struggle at all as it appeared he may in fact be out, and the referee check to see if he wanted to submit but instead called for the bell as Hero couldn’t continue. Winner: Johnny Gargano Time: 26:08 Rating: 79 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The referee quickly helped Hero roll out of the ring, and then held Gargano’s hand high in the air, and he seemed to finally have a weight off his shoulders after winning this very physical battle. But the weight was able to be placed harder on his shoulders than ever. With his hand held high the lights went black. The eerie red light and smoke filled the entrance ramp, and Scarlett Bordeaux slowly made her way out onto the entrance way, but this time she was followed by the imposing figure of Killer Kross, and he looked ready to march down to the ring and fulfill his promise to spill the blood of Gargano. The duo slowly marched down to the ring as Gargano gathered himself in the ring and prepared for the battle that was about to happen. Gargano has been preparing for it for weeks, but no amount of preparation could have been enough for the fight Johnny was in for with a very hungry Killer Kross out for his blood. He stopped just outside the ring as Scarlett took his leather coat off of him as he prepared for a fight with Gargano. Then things took a complete 180 into chaos as someone seemingly jumped over the rail with a pipe in hand and as Scarlett let out a blood curdling scream Killer Kross was dropped where he stood by a vicious blow to the back. Gargano looked utterly confused as Kross was dropped into a heap after the shocking attack from the stands. The lights then came back up and the fans, and even more so Johnny Gargano were shocked to see who was standing above Kross with the smoking gun in hand. Tommaso Ciampa shocked everyone by appearing unannounced at 20th Anniversary and coming to the aid of his long time friend and partner. The pay-per-view then went off the air with Gargano looking shocked and Ciampa yelling at the victim of his shocking attack. Tommaso Ciampa That’s my best friend! That’s my family! Nobody messes with my family! You hear me? Nobody! Final Rating: 75

  19. Ring of Honor 20th Anniversary Preview Saturday, March Week 4, 2022 vs. The World Championship will be up for grabs in a highly anticipated match. Two months ago EC3 outlasted five other men in the finals of Survival of the Fittest to earn himself a championship opportunity, which he gets tonight against World Champion Jonathan Gresham. The rivalry got kickstarted after Gresham’s last title defense as EC3 unveiled The Titan who leveled the champion with a massive chokeslam. EC3 then formed The Narrative, and they have been stating that they have never been given a fair chance, and here in Ring of Honor they are going to make their own chances. Gresham finally heard enough of what The Narrative had to say and in recent weeks has taken shots at his challenger, but with the presence of The Titan standing in front of EC3 it appears that the World Champion may have two men to defeat if he wants to keep his championship tonight. vs. Johnny Gargano has been very successful in his short time here in Ring of Honor, but starting shortly after his first pay-per-view victory he saw the apperance of Scarlett Bordeaux, who began to torment him and hint at the coming of Killer Kross. After weeks and weeks of threats through Scarlett and messages to Gargano, Kross finally showed his face on the screen last night, which has to have Gargano looking over his shoulder when he takes on a returning Chris Hero at the pay-per-view. Hero has taken advantage of how much attention Gargano has lost to Kross and leveled him in the ring once, and last night he made sure that Gargano knew that he could have taken him out again if he wanted to. The two men promise to have a great match, but the question looms over the action, how far away is Killer Kross from extracting the blood he wants from Johnny Gargano? vs. The World Tag Team Championships are going to be up for grabs in a match between The Briscoes and The PBK, who saw Keith Lee return to the fold recently and earn himself and his partner Shane Taylor at title match at tonight’s pay-per-view. Lee has looked absolutely dominant since he’s returned to ROH, but he seems confused as to why his partner seems to want to take every shortcut possible when it doesn’t seem like they need to take any. The two have already exchanged looks and words over the situation, and it appears to be a big question mark to see if they can get on the same page to put up a title victory over as decorated a team as The Briscoes. Mark and Jay are always on the same page and operate like they share a brain, so if The PBK doesn’t bring their A game it could be a short reunion for the team.
  20. The scene appears inside a gym, where Danhausen is working out as he tries to rehab his broken leg that has kept him on the sidelines for almost half a year. He gets a call and hops off the treadmill to answer it. Danhausen Hello! Danhausen here! Conan Hey Danny! Haven’t heard from you in awhile. I tried to Facetime you but apparently you don’t get that on your Jitterbug. Danhausen Curse these human communication devices! Danhausen is just getting a workout in to heal his leg that was broken in half. Conan Oh yeah, I almost forgot you are actually a wrestler. Any plans on getting back into the swing of things anytime soon? Danhausen Danhausen’s doctors tell him he should be ready to wrestle in a couple months, hopefully at the end of May. You think you’ve seen good wrestling in the Ring of Honor so far Conan, you haven’t seen anything yet. Danhausen will be World Champion in no time. Conan Sure, I’m positive that’s what would be best for business. That’s an eyeroll you heard by the way. What I actually called about is to talk about those changes I heard you wanted to make to our product. I’m interested in seeing what direction you want to go with them. Danhausen Ah yes, the changes. Well as you know, Ring of Honor was a very unique promotion. It centered around shows of respect, which Danhausen wants to keep a part of the product. But the way we run things our fans still expect a technical showcase match on each show even though we got rid of the pure division. Also they don’t like any shenanigans in any matches, and as you know Danhausen is quite the fan of the shenanigans. The fans don't even like Danhausen running any ladder or cage matches. Conan That sounds good. Shenanigans is my favorite restaurant. They got all that good crap on the walls. Danhausen Yes, Danhausen is aware of that restaurant. The fans also expected our matches to be very very long every week, even in our television show. We are going to start to reel that in and have quality matches still, but be able to fit more into the time we are given as we try to find a network to air our television show. What Danhausen is hoping to create in Ring of Honor is a wrestling nerd nirvana you might call it. You can come to Ring of Honor to see the dream matches you’ve always wanted to see, but you are going to be entertained as well. Good guys and bad guys are going to matter more now. Danhausen thinks it’s going to be a good direction for us to take the reboothausen. Conan I like it kid. You know what, you aren’t doing half bad with this thing. Keep it up, because if you don’t when you get back to wrestling I’m going to use my power and put you in a match with that Titan guy. Then maybe he’ll make your head match your leg. Anyways, talk to you later Danny! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ring of Honor Special Announcement Television Champion Rey Horus Injured, Brody King Suspended Fans who tuned into Ring of Honor Wrestling last night saw a tag match between Bandido and Rey Horus against Brody King and Vincent. The luchadors came out on top, and Brody King snapped and attacked all three men in a violent rage after the match. The timing of the attack couldn’t come at a worse time, the eve of 20th Anniversary. With his vicious attack to the ankle of Horus, the Television Champion won’t be able to defend his title at the pay-per-view in his scheduled match with Dragon Lee. Because of his actions Brody King will be taken off the pay-per-view and be suspended indefinitely. To make up for the loss of two matches at the pay-per-view two bonus matches have been added. In a rematch from a previous week’s ROH Wrestling Bandido will face Dragon Lee in a match that’s sure to play into the title picture for when Horus returns to action. The other match will see a great technical showcase as Josh Woods will face Tracy Williams. Stay tuned later today for our full Ring of Honor 20th Anniversary preview and prediction show!
  21. Ring of Honor Wrestling Friday, March Week 4, 2022 Mid Atlantic Region Attendance: 250 (Sell-Out!) 52,962 viewers on HonorClub vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Tracy Williams This week’s episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling kicks off with a great technical wrestling showcase. Both men look forward to outwrestling the other in this one. Gargano wants to prove that Scarlett Bordeaux, her associate, and Chris Hero aren’t going to be in his head heading into the pay-per-view, while Tracy Williams is out to make a name for himself in this new era of honor. The two men showed each other respect as they would make impressive moves, followed by counter moves from the other man. It seemed very evenly matched near the beginning, but Gargano’s drive and ability began to shine through as he started to use his great speed to make sure Williams couldn’t wrestle his match. Tracy tried in vein several times to put Gargano away and get a signature victory for himself, but it was all for naught as Gargano was too much to handle, ultimately able to finish things off by locking in the Gargano Escape to earn another victory. Winner: Johnny Gargano Time: 18:51 Rating: 69 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Gargano seems like he is reverting back to his positive outlook on things as he celebrates another victory since joining the Ring of Honor roster a few months back. But as he acknowledges the fans the mood quickly takes a dark turn. The lights go out in the arena, and the signature red spolight we’ve gotten used to shines on Gargano in the ring, who quickly clinches his fists, ready for a fight. That changes though as Scarlett Bordeaux appears on screen, and for the first time there is a figure stalking back and forth in the background, and he quickly steps into the foreground to finally address his target. Killer Kross Johnny! Congratulations, you figured it out ahead of schedule. As much as I would have loved to give you quite the shock and take you out by surprise, I want you to stop and think about it for awhile first. What fun is it to just strike and not enjoy the sport of it all? That’s what this whole things is about Johnny. You walk around like you are some sort of gift to wrestling. I have become obsessed with proving you are just like everybody else. Everyone but me. You know what I’m capable of Johnny, that’s why you’ve been so scared lately. That’s the fun part. I want you to know your doom is coming, and there’s not a thing you can do about it. You wanted a match with me at 20th Anniversary? This isn’t about matches Johnny, this is about me putting you down! Your time is running out! Only we know the time, only we know the place, but I can promise you one thing, your time is coming. With Kross’s final words in his opening statement to Gargano the lights quickly come back on, and it seems that Gargano isn’t alone in the ring. Johnny Gargano’s opponent for 20th Anniversary Chris Hero is now standing behind Gargano, who was still staring a hole in the video board where Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux appeared just moments before. Johnny sensed that he wasn’t alone and quickly turned around to see Hero lunging at him, but he stopped just short of leveling Gargano for the second week in a row. He instead let out an evil laugh and could be saying that he needs to worry about him, not Kross. Hero pointed to his head and laughed as he exited the ring, knowing he has the advantage as Gargano’s head can’t be fully in their match coming up tomorrow night at the pay-per-view. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Bandido and Rey Horus vs. Brody King and Vincent Bandido and Rey Horus team up once again in this one to take on Bandido’s rival Brody King and the ever dangerous Vincent. Bandido and King wasted no time going at each other as the Television Champion Horus did what he could to make sure Vincent wasn’t going to stick his nose into the match too often. From the early goings it was obvious that Bandido and Horus used their experience as a team to their advantage as King and Vincent weren’t communicating like a team that was on the same page. Vincent would get into the match, and when he was isolated by the MexiSquad his partner would become visibly frustrated on the apron and instead of encouraging Vincent he would shout at him to get it together. This lack of communication ultimately led to what most thought it would as Bandido hit the Revolution Fly on Vincent to give his team the victory. Winners: Bandido and Rey Horus Time: 15:01 Rating: 59 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match the victors celebrated in the ring while Vincent struggle to gather himself after taking Bandido’s vicious finisher. This left Brody King on the outside looking absolutely furious. Then he snapped. He grabbed a chair from the timekeepers area then stormed into the ring. He started with Bandido, who had his hands raised in triumph when King absolutely leveled him with a chair shot to the back. He then turned his attention to the Television Champion Rey Horus. He heard the impact from the attack on his partner and jumped down from posing on the second rope only to be blasted between the eyes with a chair shot, barely getting his hands up in time to shield the full impact of the blow. Vincent looked on as he struggled to get to his feet as King dropped the chair and helped Vincent up. The relief from Vincent turned to horror though as King hoisted him up and dropped him with the All Seeing Eye. He looked to possibly be done with the attack, but as Horus started to stir King was angered by this defiance. He stormed over and hit and running boot right to Horus’s head, then grabbed the chair and placed it around the leg of the downed champion. He quickly went to the middle rope and looked around, seeing Bandido working his way back up to his feet. King then made the leap and stomped on the legs of the chair, sending a scream around the arena as it appeared that Horus may have suffered damage to his ankle from this vicious attack. Bandido made a lunge at King but he was already on his way out of the ring as referees rushed down to check on the Television Champion. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Keith Lee vs. Tony Deppen Deppen came into this match at a huge size disadvantage, and while he tried to use his speed to try and take the fight to Lee, he was horrified to find out that Keith Lee could keep up with him nearly step for step. Lee, who has a championship match with his partner Shane Taylor tomorrow against The Briscoes stepped into singles action in this one trying to build momentum for his team, and he was very successful at doing it. Deppen brought some of his strongest offense to the table, but Lee didn’t seem to be too staggered by it, and when he turned the offense on Deppen was sent flying around the ring like a ragdoll. A particularly impressive feat when Lee hit a pounce that would make Monty Brown jealous. He then got Deppen up to his feet and hit the Spirit Bomb to get a very impressive victory heading into The PBK’s title opportunity in just a day’s time. Winner: Keith Lee Time: 14:24 Rating: 63 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Keith Lee’s partner Shane Taylor celebrated at ringside and shouted good job to his partner. He grabbed another chair from ringside and headed into the ring with it as Keith Lee looked on puzzled as to why his partner was doing this. Taylor moved Lee over slightly to the side and began to size up Deppen with the chair, seemingly ready to let go a full force shot to Deppen and continue the violence that has broken out in tonight’s episode. Lee wasn’t going to stand by and witness this though as he stepped between Deppen and his partner and could be heard talking to Taylor over a stunned crowd. Keith Lee Stop it man. What’s gotten into you? Look at us. We don’t need to resort to this. We can take care of business with our bare hands. I’ve had about enough of you trying to take shortcuts. Get your head on straight. We’ve got some titles to win. Let’s go. With these words Taylor looked frustrated but he dropped the chair and followed Lee out of the ring, shouting at Deppen that he got lucky on this particular night. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Sumie Sakai vs. Taya Valkyrie The women’s division has been focused on four women as of late, and it seems like former Women’s Champion Sumie Sakai wants to reenter her name into the conversation. She brought the fight to Valkyrie in this match, Taya’s first singles match since coming to Ring of Honor. Sakai used her great striking ability and technical wrestling prowess to control Valkyrie for much of the match, but Taya showed her physical abilities as she was able to overpower Sakai when she attempted several moves and give herself the upper hand. Sakai attempted to hoist Valkyrie up for a german suplex, but the more powerful Valkyrie blocked the attempt, then got behind Sakai and hit The Road to Valhalla to put the ring veteran down for a statement making victory. Winner: Taya Valkyrie Time: 11:44 Rating: 49 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When we come back from commercial Quinn McKay is standing by backstage with the victorious Taya Valkyrie. Quinn McKay Taya! Congratulations on your first victory since joining the Ring of Honor roster. That was a very impressive victory out there. I just have a couple questions for you. First, do you have any thoughts on the title match tomorrow night between Rok-C and Athena? And then, what’s next for Taya Valkyrie here in Ring of Honor? Taya Valkyrie Thank you Quinn. It’s always an honor to go out there and face a legend like Sumie Sakai, and I’m very proud to have come out victorious in that battle. It wasn’t easy but I’m standing here the victor, the first of many to come. When it comes to the title match tomorrow, I’m certainly looking forward to it. Rok-C seems like she has all the tools to go places in this business, but you can’t count Athena out. We’ve trained together and she’s a fierce competitor. I think either woman could come out victorious, and whichever does I’ll be here waiting for them because I want that championship Quinn. As for my immediate future, I, like everyone else hear The Narrative spouting their nonsense to anybody who will listen. EC3, The Titan and Mia Yim are running their mouths about how they were cast aside and misused before they got to ROH. Let me tell you all something. At least you got a chance to prove yourselves. I wasn’t even given that opportunity. I was cast aside before people even knew my name. You don’t hear me crying about it. You blame everyone but yourselves for your shortcomings. Mia, I know you are one tough woman, but if you are feeling like dancing, tomorrow night at 20th Anniversary my card is open, and if you step into the ring with me I’ll expose you for the failure you are! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Breezus vs. Samuray del Sol It has been announced that tomorrow night at 20th Anniversary the team of Breezus and Dalton Castle will team up to face Samuray del Sol and Mascara Dorada. The fans got a good preview match in this one. These two have spent a lot of time together in their career and it showed as they shook hands before the match and then put on a very competitive match that could have went either way. Breezus has been down on his luck since joining forces with Dalton Castle. Many though they would be a dominant team but their lack of communication and chemistry has been holding them back, while Samuray del Sol has regained momentum after losing his Television Championship by reforming the former Lucha House Party with his partner. There were several close falls throughout the match and the fans called out with each near fall. The finish came with Samuray hooking Breezus’s head for the Salita del Sol, then going up and over but failing to bring his opponent to the mat with him. Breezus took this opportunity to rebound off the ropes to build momentum and hit the Beauty Shot for a momentum gaining victory. Winner: Breezus Time: 14:36 Rating: 60 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. EC3 vs. Josh Woods It likely wasn’t EC3’s choice to be wrestling the night before his big World Championship opportunity against Jonathan Gresham, but he has an opportunity to show the world that he can hang in the ring with a competitor with a similar skill set to Gresham. Woods, who has had several great technical showcases with Gresham brought that kind of aggression and skill to the match with EC3, who seemed out of his element at the opening bell, but slowly settled in and started to bring his more physical type of offense to Woods. EC3 started to control the pace by taking Woods down with heavy strikes, then putting all his weight on Woods through variations on headlocks and holds to try to catch his breath during the match. Even though it wasn’t a long match by ROH standards it was clear that EC3 was struggling to keep his breath and strength near the end of the match. This may have motivated him as he almost took Woods out of his shoes with a clothesline, then brought him in for the One Percenter to finish the match and head to his championship match tomorrow with a victory. Winner: EC3 Time: 15:05 Rating: 57 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the bell EC3 celebrated with The Titan, basically telling the fans that he told them he’s as good as he claims to be. The fans showered him with boos until the music of the World Champion hit the arena and Jonathan Gresham headed through the curtain and marched down the ramp with his title like a man on a mission. He rolled into the ring and held his title up high in the face of EC3. The leader of The Narrative was having none of it and motioned to The Titan, who stepped in front of EC3 and towered over the much shorter World Champion. The picture was clear to end the show twenty-four hours away from the title match. If Jonathan Gresham is going to keep his World Championship he’s going to have to go through The Titan to get stop EC3. Final Rating: 60
  22. Around the World of Wrestling March Week 3, 2022 Wednesday AEW Dynamite put on another memorable show this week, but for a different reason than their high quality outings of late. The woman many consider to be one of the finest competitors in the world lost her World Championship, and not to someone many would have pegged as the next champion. In a match only rated at a 61, Britt Baker lost her championship to young upstart Julia Hart. At the weekly Dynamite watching we had Danhausen almost broke his no swearing rule when the three count happened. It’ll be interesting to see where the women’s division in AEW goes from here. Friday The retirements keep on coming in this year, as Diamond Dallas Page and LuFisto both announced they would be stepping away from professional wrestling. Page, who retired from active competition years ago, announced he’d be leaving wrestling for good. Danhausen figures there’s always money in the yoga stand apparently. LuFisto is just stepping away from being a full time wrestler and will likely continue in a backstage role, leading women to put on great matches like she did for years. To celebrate the occasion Danhausen popped in his favorite DDP Yoga DVD and made us all do a morning stretch. Sunday WWE held their annual pre-Wrestlemania pay-per-view, Fastlane tonight and it received a respectable 78 rating for being a more minor show. The main event of the evening saw Randy Orton and Riddle retain their Raw Tag Team Championships against the team of Big E and Drew McIntyre in a match that was rated as an 81. New Japan held the finals of the New Japan Cup tonight in a show that featured three world class matchups. The finals of the tournament saw Hiroshi Tanahashi defeat Hiromu Takahashi in an 81 rated main event to earn the trophy and title shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the future. The two highest rated matches of the night came from lower down the card though as Tetsuya Naito defeated Kazuchika Okada in an incredible 88 rated match, and Minoru Suzuki defeat Will Ospreay in a match rated at an 86. A great showing for NJPW for sure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ring of Honor Wrestling Preview Friday, March Week 4, 2022 vs. Here we are one night away from ROH 20th Anniversary. The World Championship will be up for grabs at the pay-per-view, and here on the eve of the big event the challenger will step into the ring in the main event and try to build some momentum before he faces World Champion Jonathan Gresham. In that main event EC3 will be facing longtime Gresham rival, Josh Woods in what promises to be a very hard hitting affair that will test EC3’s toughness before he challenges for the championship. Gresham has been tormenting EC3 and his partner in The Narrative, The Titan for the past few weeks as he looks to throw the challenger off his game before their match, but will EC3 put the champions actions behind him as he builds towards 20th Anniversary? vs. Johnny Gargano has his challenger for the pay-per-view as longtime ROH competitor Chris Hero has returned to the fold. With Gargano’s attention on the mind games being played by Scarlett Bordeaux and her associate that allowed Hero to fire the first shot between the two men leading into what promises to be a match to steal the show at 20th Anniversary. Fans have been buzzing all week about these two men locking horns. Tonight Gargano will try to shake this whole situation by stepping into the ring with Tracy Williams, no easy feat. How will the looming threat of Scarlett and whoever follows her play into this whole situation, and will we get anymore answers as to why they are stalking Gargano in this manner? vs. A big tag team match will be contested on this weeks show as Brody King will be teaming with Vincent to face off with a man that King has in his crosshairs, Bandido, and his partner Television Champion Rey Horus. Horus has a big Television Championship match against Dragon Lee at the pay-per-view, so will the champion be able to get back onto his winning ways as he teams with Bandido in this match? And with tensions simmering between Brody King and Bandido, how physical will things become between the two men who are developing quite the hatred for each other?
  23. Ring of Honor Wrestling Friday, March Week 3, 2022 Mid Atlantic Region Attendance: 250 (Sell-Out!) 50,466 viewers on HonorClub This week’s episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling kicks off with Johnny Gargano making his entrance and his way down to the ring. Instead of the normal jovial Gargano he means business as he heads straight down the ramp and into the ring where he requested a microphone right away. The announcers recapped all the issues that Gargano has had with his mystery agitator and Scarlett Bordeaux in recent weeks, and they question if Gargano has reached his breaking point with the situation. Johnny Gargano Scarlett, Kross, I’m giving both of you one more chance. 20th Anniversary is only 8 days away. I know that Danhausen says that you aren’t a part of the roster, but I know that it’s you behind all this. You’ve always hated me and are carrying that hatred to Ring of Honor. If you quit hiding behind whatever Scarlett is to you and come out and face me like a man Danhausen won’t have any choice but to book the match for the pay-per-view. It’s what I want, it’s what the fans want, and apparently it’s what you want. So if you have any guts you’ll come out here right now and accept my challenge. Music hits in the arena, but it’s not Scarlett. The Commissionerhausen’s music hits, and he gets some of the first boos he’s heard in some time. The boos aren’t really focused at him, but at the frustration that Gargano seemingly isn’t going to get what he wants. Danhausen has a portfolio with him as he walks down to the ring towards Johnny, who doesn’t look pleased that the man he wants isn’t heading out to the ring. Danhausen gets in the ring next to Johnny and starts to address the situation. Danhausen Ah yes Johnny Wrestling, Danhausen knows that you want to fight whoever has been tormenting you for the past month, but without them showing their face or making it known who they are Danhausen’s hands are tied. Danhausen has great responsibility to put on the best match possible at 20th Anniversary, we have a company to run here and Danhausen needs to make the most monies possible from it. So like Danhausen said last week, keeping with the theme of our anniversary show, any former Ring of Honor star that would like to make a comeback is welcome to come wrestle Johnny Gargano at the pay-per-view, and for stepping up Danhausen will present them a new ROH contract, which I have in my hand. So who’s it going to be? Danhausen and Johnny sit back and wait for somebody to appear on the entrance ramp, but after waiting several seconds the challenger doesn’t appear before them on the ramp. The answer comes from behind in a rage with a vicious elbow to the back of Gargano’s head. Ian Riccaboni Oh my god it’s Chris Hero! He’s returned to Ring of Honor and he just laid out Johnny Gargano with a nasty blindside attack! He’s grabbed the contract from Danhausen and he’s putting his name on the dotted line. Chris Hero is a part of Ring of Honor once again, and it seems that next Saturday we are going to be seeing Johnny Gargano vs. Chris Hero in a ROH ring! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. If Bandido wins he is added to the Television Championship match at 20th Anniversary Bandido vs. Dragon Lee This match has very high stakes for both men. Dragon Lee recently earned his title match at the pay-per-view against Rey Horus for the Television Championship by beating the champion in the middle of the ring. He wants this match to stay one-on-one as adding Bandido to it will see one of the most talented wrestlers in the world added to the mix and greatly lower his chances to leave 20th Anniversary the champion. Bandido tried to wrestle at a frenetic pace, wanting to catch Lee off guard and punch his ticket to the title match, but Dragon Lee used a different tactic as he was seemingly wrestling a defensive matchup, trying not to lose. This went back and forth for quite some time before Bandido started to get a clear advantage in the matchup. It seemed he wasn’t far off from coming out on top when out of nowhere Brody King appeared at ringside. This distraction got Bandido’s attention, which allowed Dragon Lee to get on the former World Champion’s shoulders, where he performed a victory roll and got the three count to keep his title match a singles affair, with much of the credit going to Brody King. Winner: Dragon Lee Time: 16:53 Rating: 60 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Bandido started to get to his feet but he was cut off by a charging Brody King, who overpowered him and put him back down on the mat after his grueling match. King started laying in the boots strong to the luchador, who had no answer for the onslaught coming from King. The attack continued for a short time before King forced Bandido up and delivered the All Seeing Eye, putting a very impactful exclamation point on this attack. He then grabbed a microphone to explain his actions. Brody King An eye for an eye! Bandido, a few weeks ago you wanted to stick your nose in my business with Mike Bennett. I don’t appreciate people getting into business that has nothing to do with them. So guess what? Tonight you paid the first part of your penance. I will extract the rest out of you in the form of blood at 20th Anniversary! I’ll see you there Bandido! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When we come back to commercial we go backstage where Quinn McKay is standing by with The Narrative Quinn McKay I’m here with EC3, The Titan and Mia Yim, The Narrative. Now EC3, last week we saw you attempt to hype up your team, but two out of the three of you seemed to have a very tough night. While The Titan was very successful in his match with Joe Henning, Mia Yim lost in her chance for a title opportunity, and you were choked out by World Champion Jonathan Gresham at the end of the show. What do you have to say after this tough night for your group. EC3 Quinn, you’ll notice that the only way that Jonathan Gresham could get to me is from behind, tactics that we’d never stoop to. I was out there to congratulate my partner Titan here on a job well done, like I knew he’d do, when I was viciously attacked by a champion with no honor. He knows that the only chance he has against me is to cheat wherever he can. When we come to our title match at 20th Anniversary this mountain of a man standing next to me will make sure that Gresham can’t pull any of his shenanigans. As for Mia Yim, she was placed in an unfair triple threat match for a title opportunity that she should have already had in her possession. And what does Athena do to earn that title match? She blindsided Mia with the Eclipse to send herself to a title match. Do you sense a theme here Quinn? The Ring of Honor roster is scared of us. They know who really controls things around here, and they are doing what they can to try to stop us. The resistance is futile. They don’t write the narrative around here, we do. And the story goes, in eight days, EC3 is the new Ring of Honor World Champion. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Athena and Rok-C vs. Mia Yim and Taya Valkyrie This tag team match featured teams who don’t want to be tagging together heading into the pay-per-view in eight days. Athena and Rok-C will face off for the title, and while they have a similar wrestling upbringing, they will be facing off for the Women’s World Championship at 20th Anniversary. Mia Yim and Taya Valkyrie also fought tooth and nail in the number one contenders match last week, and their war of words will not likely end there. The four women weren’t shy as they were unloading offense on each other, but even though she’s the World Champion it seemed like Rok-C was trying to prove herself against the three veterans in the ring with her. While both teams were able to work together the majority of the match, the wheels started to fall off for both sides. Yim and Valkyrie couldn’t stop arguing, while Rok-C didn’t want to tag Athena in as she tried to prove herself. The finish came when Mia Yim showed her true colors and stepped away from a tag attempt from Taya, who looked furious as she was left on her own. The inevitable came as Rok-C met her when she turned around and was met by The Prodigy falcon arrow from the champion and a three count. Winners: Rok-C and Athena Time: 15:25 Rating: 54 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Rok-C didn’t waste any time as he grabbed her championship and stormed right up in Athena’s face, shouting do you see that at her challenger for the championship. The champion was very animated as Athena stood toe to toe with her and just grinned as Rok-C wanted to prove that she’s every bit as good as Athena. With many people saying that Athena has a huge upper hand going into their battle at 20th Anniversary it seems like the chatter has started to get under the champions skin. She finally stopped talking and held her title in the air as the women came nose to nose in a very tense faceoff before their championship showdown in just eight days. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. The Awakening vs. The Briscoes This match is one that many Ring of Honor fans have wanted to see since The Awakening appeared in Ring of Honor, but that anticipation seems to have died off some as The Awakening has had very up and down results since joining the roster. This is the match that they circled when they signed their ROH contracts though and they came out fighting hard to try and prove that they deserve to sit atop the ranks of the tag team division. The Briscoes haven’t had the easiest few months though and they came out firing, wanting to head into the title match with the PBK with some momentum. They succeeded in building up important momentum in this one as they were able to withstand the high impact offense of Big Kon and Vik and gave them a taste of their world class tag ability and showed why they are Tag Team Champions. The finish came as The Brisoces paid homage to a team that both teams looked up to as they got Vik up on Jay’s shoulders as Mark springboarded off the top rope and took him off with a devastating Doomsday Device to get the win and head into 20th Anniversary with some much needed momentum. Winners: The Briscoes Time: 14:04 Rating: 56 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Dalton Castle vs. Mascara Dorada Both men were escorted out to the ring by their tag partners as Dalton Castle was looking to turn things around as he and Breezus have struggled since joining forces. This wasn’t going to be an easy task though because since joining ROH Mascara Dorada has showed why he was a world class wrestler before his stop in WWE. He used the ropes like only he can for innovative offense that the Ring of Honor fans loved and were fully behind him for. Castle is a former World Champion though and showed why when Dorada missed on a high impact move and he pounced. He was vicious with his attack on the luchador, and after several high impact moves he seemed like he was closing in on a victory. Dorada was able to kick it into a gear he hadn’t shown in years though and after he avoided a clothesline from Castle he was able to roll him up from behind and get a lightning quick three count to get a big victory, sending Castle into a rage. Winner: Mascara Dorada Time: 15:31 Rating: 54 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Castle was furious. As soon as the referee raised the hand of the winner Castle took him down with a clubbing blow from behind. He started to yell at Dorada that he wasn’t better than Castle. This brought Breezus and Samuray del Sol flying into the ring, each taking their partners and separating them from further violence breaking out between them. Castle was yelling at Breezus to let him go, and Breezus was furious as he has a match with the World Champion next and didn’t want any part of this fight that his partner had picked. Samurary was helping Dorada get his composure as he pointed at Breezus and yelled at him to control his friend or he would do it for him. The luchadors slowly exited the ring and headed to the back as Breezus continued to try and calm Castle down as our last commercial break came. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Breezus vs. Jonathan Gresham When we come back for this match Castle has left the ringside area, leaving his teammate to face the very dangerous World Champion Gresham with no support. Gresham quickly showed why he’s considered the ring general of ROH as he controlled the pace to one that didn’t give Breezus much of a chance from the opening bell. Breezus is very confident in his technical ability, and while he may have been able to out wrestle many of the competitors from where he came from, that wasn’t going to happen with the World Champion. Every time Breezus would try to lock something in on Gresham, he would escape from it then lock in a hold that Breezus had to fight tooth and nail to get out of. Once Gresham sensed that he had Breezus on the ropes he started to turn up the pace, even hitting some impressive high flying moves punctuated by a big moonsault, getting a very close two count. Breezus got one final burst of energy and went for the Beauty Shot, but Gresham ducked under the kick very easily. Breezus left himself wide open with this miss and like a shark smelling blood in the water Gresham locked in the Octopus Lock, and like many before him Breezus was forced to submit. The show went off the air for the second week in a row with Gresham holding his title belt high in the air as he continues to build steam towards his title defense against EC3 at 20th Anniversary in just eight days. Winner: Jonathan Gresham Time: 17:41 Rating: 67 Final Rating: 58
  24. Around the World of Wrestling March Week 2, 2022 Wednesday AEW keeps putting on great shows, but they come at the expense of several injuries in the last few months. Tonight was a bad one as Wheeler YUTA suffered a herniated disc during a Dynamite match. He is expected to have major surgery and will likely miss over a year of action. YUTA is a bright up and comer in the wrestling landscape and it hurts to see an injury of this magnitude to someone starting to come into their own in the ring. Thursday Elite no more! AEW has made the decision many thought would never happen as Kenny Omega, Matt and Nick Jackson have all left The Elite stable. They will all stay a part of the AEW roster but will go their separate ways when it comes to teaming up in the promotion. Danhausen was shocked as he loves watching Being the Elite, and has even been featured on the show before. He has already been in touch with Tony Khan pitching ideas where he can come in and take over the Elite. Needless to say Tony didn’t think it would work out. Saturday Impact Wrestling held it’s Sacrifice pay-per-view to rather mixed reviews. The show was rated a 50, which was surprising for the promotion as they have put on quality shows as of late and this is one of their bigger shows of the year. The main event saw Matt Cardona win the X-Division Championship over Trey Miguel in a match rated at a 58. Danhausen said he’s glad we don’t have Impact pay-per-view watch parties because he’d rather see Zack Ryder get pushed off a stage in a wheelchair by Kane than watch Matt Cardona win the X-Division Championship. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ring of Honor Wrestling Preview Friday, March Week 3, 2022 vs. The main event of Ring of Honor Wrestling this week features the World Champion Jonathan Gresham in tough competition just over a week away from his title defense against EC3 when he takes on Breezus. Gresham knows what a great competitor Breezus is and is ready for a fight. Breezus on the other hand has been a part of a new team with Dalton Castle that already seems like it’s hitting the skids. The two men seem to have no chemistry and they are arguing after losses, definitely not good signs. Gresham will look to capitalize on this strife in Breezus’ career and send a message to EC3 after choking him out to end last week’s episode. Dalton Castle will also be in action Friday against Mascara Dorada, will the duo be more successful this week than they’ve been in recent weeks together? vs. Before the big Rok-C versus Athena Women’s World Championship match at 20th Anniversary takes place the two women will see if they can team up as they take on Mia Yim and Taya Valkyrie. There are definite fireworks ready to go off in this match as neither team really sees eye to eye. While Rok-C and Athena were both trained by Booker T and have had each other’s backs in recent weeks, they will be fighting over the championship in a little over a week so you know they’ll have eyes in the back of their heads. Yim and Valkyrie don’t really see eye to eye either, as Yim doesn’t see eye to eye with many people since joining up with EC3 and The Titan last month. The winner will likely come with whatever team works better together. Johnny Gargano has been calling out Scarlett Bordeaux and whoever she is representing in recent weeks after they have tormented Gargano for the past month and a half. Gargano says he knows the threat is coming from Killer Kross and is confused as to why he’s nowhere to be found, and is challenging him for a match at 20th Anniversary. Scarlett won’t confirm who she’s working with even though common sense says that Kross has something to do with it. All she says is whoever he is will be coming after Gargano when he sees fit. Danhausen’s hands were tied in this one as he can’t put someone in a match who doesn’t have a contract. So the Commisionerhausen has promised Gargano that he’ll find him an opponent who has a past in Ring of Honor to face him at the pay-per-view and has revealed that he’ll announce the opponent to Gargano in person this week. vs. The Television Championship picture is heating up with Dragon Lee earning a victory over the champion Rey Horus last week. Danhausen has announced that Dragon Lee has indeed earned a title opportunity at 20th Anniversary, but the matchup might not be a simple one on one encounter. This week Dragon Lee will be in action again, this time against former World Champion Bandido. If Bandido is victorious he will be added to the championship match at 20th Anniversary and it will become a triple threat match. Will Bandido come out on top and look to add more gold to his resume or will Dragon Lee be able to make sure he gets a one-on-one match with the champion?
  25. Ring of Honor Wrestling Friday, March Week 2, 2022 Mid Atlantic Region Attendance: 277 54,307 viewers on HonorClub This week’s edition of Ring of Honor starts off in the locker room area of The Narrative. EC3 is giving a pep talk to both The Titan and Athena who will be in action later tonight. EC3 Alright guys, big night for us here. We’ve made sure all the fans and the rest of the roster know who we are and why it is we are doing what we’re doing. They all know if they stand in our way that they are going to fall by the wayside. Now is our time to show our worth. Now is our time to show that we control our own narratives. And by hook or by crook we are going to control the narrative of all of Ring of Honor. Titan, think back to not too long ago. You were the apple of the wrestling world’s eye. You had a rocket strapped to your back and it seemed like the sky was the limit. Until they decided for you that it wasn’t. Now is the time to show them the monster unchained. Show them that they’ve made a massive mistake and that you are more dominant than ever. Mia, they never even gave you a chance. You proved yourself all over the world and what did they do to you? They threw you under a mask and made you downplay your abilities. You don’t have to be hidden under a mask anymore. You are one of the baddest women in the game, and tonight you will show them why. You are going to take down those other two women and like me, you are going to claim your crown at the 20th Anniversary. Tonight we remind the world that this is our story, and only we control what happens in it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Dragon Lee vs. Rey Horus The in-ring competition this week got kicked off with some high octane action as Television Champion Rey Horus faces off with Dragon Lee in a non title match. Horus has been riding a high since beating Samuray del Sol for the championship a few weeks ago, and he carried that momentum off to a great start against the very talented Dragon Lee in this match. The two men used their signature mixtures of speed, aerial ability and technical prowess to put on a show that few around the world can match, and the fans cheered for both competitors as they fought tooth and nail for a victory. Lee fought as though the title was on the line and got several near falls on Horus, but each of them came up short for most of the match. Horus was able to gain control near the end of the match and went for a big moonsault on Lee, but he was able to get his knees up. When Horus came to Dragon Lee met him with the Desnucadora in the middle of the ring to get a huge non title victory over the Television Champion and possibly earn himself a title shot down the road. Winner: Dragon Lee Time: 19:19 Rating: 58 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Breezus and Dalton Castle vs. The PBK Breezus and Castle seemed like a match made in heaven when they started teaming up, but it’s become clear that the two eccentric superstars suffer from a serious lack of chemistry when they pair up as a team. That definitely showed against a duo as dominating as the number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships, Keith Lee and Shane Taylor. Breezus and Castle’s timing was all over the place and they struggled to keep one man in their corner, allowing Lee and Taylor to make tags whenever they needed. This lead to a surprisingly weak resistance from Breezus and Castle, and a fairly quick ending when Keith Lee hit a thunderous Spirit Bomb on Breezus to pick up the three count and roll more momentum into their title match with The Briscoes at 20th Anniversary. Winners: The PBK Time: 10:44 Rating: 55 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Breezus was slow to get to his feet and Dalton Castle wasted no time to get into his partner's face and ask him what was up with that effort. Breezus shared the same sentiments with Castle, as they both looked dumbfounded as to how things could go sour for a team that seemed to be a dream team on paper. Both men didn’t have any answers for why their team was struggling, but it was very obvious that neither man was happy with how that last match transpired as they headed to the back. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Rocky Romero Much like tonight’s opening contest, this one featured some very fast paced, yet technical action. Both men looked very crisp as they went all out to try to grab a victory, and Gargano was met at every turn by the veteran Romero seemingly knowing what was coming next. He reversed several moves that Johnny has been really successful with in past weeks, which seemed to have Gargano thrown off his game. Gargano was also looking over his shoulder the whole time expecting some sort of interruption from Scarlet or whoever she’s leading into Ring of Honor to demolish him. That never came to fruition as Gargano was able to settle in and grab a lasting advantage eventually on Romero. He ending came after a huge knee strike took Romero to the mat, where Johnny locked in the Gargano Escape, forcing Romero to tap out. Winner: Johnny Gargano Time: 17:53 Rating: 57 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Gargano didn’t spend much time celebrating as he went right after the microphone ready to address what’s been happening to him in recent weeks. Johnny Gargano Scarlet! You say that Kross will make his appearance and fight me whenever he wants. I don’t care what he wants! I care what I want! What I want, and what all these people want is for him to stop hiding behind all the smoke and mirrors and face me at 20th Anniversary! He says he’s going to paint the mat red with my blood. What’s he waiting for? I’m right here! With this many fans expected Scarlet to make her entrance, but instead it was Danhausen who came out and stood on the ramp to interject in this situation. Danhausen Ah yes Johnny, I can see where you’d be very angry that someone is playing very evil mind games with you so to say. Danhausen gets it, you want to rip whoever is behind this’s head off. But you say that it’s Kross behind all this. Danhausen hasn’t signed anybody named Kross to a contract so unfortunately you won’t be able to face him at 20th Anniversary because he isn’t a part of the roster for me to put in a match. What I have done is put out a notice that since this is our Anniversary show that any former Ring of Honor great that wants to put their name on a match with you will earn a Ring of Honor contract. Danhausen expects some great wrestlers to bite at this opportunity, and Danhausen will have an answer for you next week! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Bandido, Mascara Dorada and Samuray del Sol vs. Demonic Flamita, Flip Gordon and Tony Deppen The theme of the night to this point has been the fast paced action that Ring of Honor fans have come to love, and they got a big dose of it in this match. While all six men put on great performances it was clear to those watching that Bandido and Mascara Dorada were out there putting on performances that outshined the other men in the match. They both looked like ring generals out there, and they led their team in a very convincing manner against their opponents. Dorada and Samuray showed off some of their great tandem offense, which would set up Bandido to hit a high impact move that would leave the fans awed. The match saw a very impressive finish as Samuray connected on the Salita del Sol, followed by a rope walk splash from Dorada, then a beautiful 450 splash from Bandido onto Flip Gordon to give his team the victory. Winners: Bandido, Mascara Dorada and Samuray del Sol Time: 15:41 Rating: 67 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. vs. Number One Contender’s Match for the Women’s World Championship Athena vs. Mia Yim vs. Taya Valkyrie This match has major implications as the winner will go onto the 20th Anniversary show in a few weeks to take on Women’s World Champion Rok-C. The women’s division has been heating up, and it started to boil up in this match. Athena and Yim have developed some serious bad blood in the past few weeks, and they went right at each other right out of the gate. This is Valkyrie’s in-ring debut though and she wasn’t able to be overlooked as she cannonballed in and took both women out in one move. She then showed the ROH audience what she can do as she controlled the action for a good period of time, hitting a series of moves on one woman before turning her focus on the other. Eventually this was unsustainable though as it eventually turned into a proper three way brawl with all three women not caring who they took out as long as they were hitting some offense. A lightning quick finish came as Mia Yim hit Valkyrie with a superkick that echoed throughout the arena, sending Taya to the outside. As Yim was talking trash to Taya she didn’t realize that Athena was perched on the top rope, and when she turned around she was met with the Eclipse, and three seconds later Athena had punched her ticket to the title match at 20th Anniversary against her fellow Booker T trainee, Rok-C. Winner and Number One Contender: Athena Time: 15:58 Rating: 54 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Joe Hennig vs. The Titan After seeing his Narrative teammate Mia Yim fail to earn a title match at 20th Anniversary The Titan came out even more focused that he normally would be. That meant a heap of trouble for Hennig, who to his credit used his brain a lot more than most men in this situation do. Instead of trying to meet the train headfirst on the tracks Hennig used a strike and avoid strategy. He didn’t hit many high impact moves on The Titan, but he didn’t stick around long enough to get swatted down by him for awhile either. Eventually like most plans, it blew up the first time Hennig got hit in the mouth. The Titan got a small opening then exploded through it, spelling doom for Hennig. Hennig tried his Perfect-Plex on Titan, but it wasn’t happening and Titan threw him half way across the ring in retaliation. After some vicious clotheslines and shoulder blocks he locked Henning around the throat, then delivered a chokeslam to earn another victory. Winner: The Titan Time: 14:40 Rating: 60 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match EC3 made his way out on the ramp to give a round of applause to The Titan, who he trusted to come down to the ring on his own and take care of action in this match. Just as EC3 had a triumphant look on his face it turned to sheer panic as the World Champion Jonathan Gresham snuck up behind him and locked him in a dragon sleeper. Ian Riccaboni It’s the champion! He’s had enough of all the nonsense that EC3 has been spewing! He’s going to choke him out! Gresham knelt down with the dragon sleeper locked in deep on EC3, who was struggling to try to escape, but was having no luck. The crowd was going crazy, and The Titan who was busy talking trash to a downed Hennig was too busy to notice that his leader was having the life choked out of him on the stage. Gresham let out a roar as he pulled back on the move, causing The Titan to finally notice what was happening and quickly step over the top rope and try to come to the rescue of EC3. Gresham gave him a big grin as he released the hold and stepped back behind the curtain, and the final scene we see is The Titan scrambling to assist EC3 and he looked like a fish out of water after the surprise attack from the champion who’d had enough. Final Rating: 60
