1. I'd like to suggest what I can only call a Constants Modifier. I've seen talk from time to time about various things (financials, ratings, etc.) that would have various algorithms to determine them obviously. So I propose doing something like OOTP Baseball does (though, to be fair, the only version I have of that is '16). For instance, in that game, they have options for Batting Average, Walks, Hits, Strikeouts, Homeruns, etc. Just as the very basic examples -- there's actually a fair number. By default, these are all set to 1.000. But if, for instance, you want walks to increase, go ahead and bump that to 1.100. Now you'll see approximately 10% more walks in the game. I think something like this could be applied to TEW fairly well. Things like base injury rate, base financials, base ratings (and/or effects of various stats) could all be available to tweak as the player desires. I'd definitely include momentum shifts and stat adjustment rates as parts of this as well.
 2. In theory (meaning I haven't tried it, but it should work), you can export your same game to a database, then edit the database that created, then create a new game with that edited database.
 3. I was thinking recently of a new 'backstage' rule that would benefit historical mods. "Enforce Kayfabe". Should be limited to companies that have a strict face/heel divide. As for benefits/drawbacks, I have a couple ideas. I'd say that relationships forming would tend to be limited to your actual side of the divide -- a face could only develop friendships only with faces, and hostile relationships with heels. You'd also have to have a possibility of your workers ignoring the rule, which should affect prestige and popularity negatively, and probably the worker's respect and popularity. On the other hand, I think that it should give a *slight* boost to segment ratings, and it should make it so that fans are more tolerable of gimmicks, allowing them to last longer before shifts/turns.
 4. Are workers not allowed to be in multiple storylines any longer? I could have sworn in 2016, you could be in one major role and one supporting role, but I can't seem to do that in 2020.
 5. Yeah, this is one of the reasons I was advocating for no sizes during the dev diary. I'd much rather have everything just kind of scale relatively smoothly. First, you wouldn't have those huge jumps from 200-1500 etc. (though maybe that comes from another production option). Secondly, they're kind of arbitrary when it comes to how and why you change sizes. Finally, I'd much rather see things like "will sign written contracts" be based entirely on the wrestler's opinion of your company than just a generic "you've hit medium".
 6. Random thought that the current design wouldn't allow for, but might work well in future iterations. Multiple short names. This would allow for additional variations in commentary, etc. The one that made me think of this was California Love Machine. His shortname is currently C.L.M. But I could see announcers using quite a few different shortnames for him; Machine or Love or Cali or whatever.
 7. I disagree. There's always that character who plays face to the heels and heel to the faces. Or is a 'face' in a heel faction (Colt Cabana in AEW comes to mind right now). But along this line, what I'd prefer rather than a 'tweener' disposition is for the disposition to be split into 'assigned' and 'perceived'. The assigned, as now, should probably be face/heel. (Aside, I'd probably also add road agent notes to switch assigned disposition for a segment). The perceived should be how the crowd SEEs that character, and it should be a scale. Which would allow for said tweeners -- people who are usually assigned heel acting as face for a few segments would shift their perceived disposition towards that side.
 8. I've got a game going (TEW2016) that's currently in 2028 and still occasionally going.
 9. Honestly, I'm not sure why that button exists at all. We have the ability to rearrange. Just automatically place everything that has been pre-booked in the grid when the show starts.
 10. TL;DR: Update contract negotiations window to use a Road Agent Note-style interface, and some new ideas for possible contract clauses. I'm pretty sure I've brought up similar ideas in the past, but I had a sudden brainstorm today, and have spent a bit of time mocking up the idea to see if I thought it would work. And hey, this is a BIG change so I don't think it would happen in 2020, but gotta get the brainstorms out where they can be seen. The basis of the idea is that I would love to have a lot more options for contract negotiations. Basically because I think it would add variety. Right now it feels like contracts are basically "offer as little money as they'll accept" with very little differences, and there's almost no reason to use any of the other options for any reason. I had a couple of ideas (for instance, a limited hiring veto where the company can give the worker a specified bonus to override their veto) that could spice things up a bit in that regard; in particular I'd really like the non-compete options much more robust. I started out trying to mock up some of these options, but the window quickly outgrew the current resolution of TEW2020 as I added these options. I was getting a little frustrated until I realized there's already something similar in TEW. Road agent notes. So allow me to present the mockup; it uses base windows forms and colors, but the idea is sound. http://steev.fatcow.com/TEW/contract-mockup.png A quick rundown of the ideas presented here. First, the top box moves from "you'll probably want to offer X" to an actual conversation from the worker with his contract demands, and would include any other offers the worker is considering. I don't know about you guys, but I've never gotten a job where part of the hiring process wasn't "what kind of pay are you looking for", and this simulates that fairly well. Next would be Patience/Tolerance. I'll readily (and somewhat ashamedly) admit I pondered these terms for like 2 or 3 hours while I was working today. I'm still not sure I like them, but the base idea is this. Patience is how willing the worker is to negotiate with ANYONE at this time. It should go down over time as he comes closer to a decision, or as he gets overwhelmed with offers. Tolerance is how willing he is to negotiate with you. In theory, this should always be at or below the Patience level. If it reaches 0, he cuts off negotiations with you entirely. Every time you make an offer, it would reduce slightly ("why don't you make your best offer first?"), and it would reduce more as he gets better offers from other companies, or if he decides he doesn't like certain terms of the contract. Then, the clauses themselves. This uses the Road Agent Notes paradigm. A list of clauses on the left that can be added to the contract. A list of clauses on the right that are currently in the contract offer. When something is selected (hey, pretend I selected "Area Allowance" on the left in that picture), the options for that clause are shown in the middle. Select your options, and click "Add Clause". More details about some of the clauses you might see: [Actually not in the image, because I thought about it as I was writing this -- an automatic wage increase should be included; increase by $1000 every 12 months or something similar.] Added additional bonus types; bonuses if you fight a match, if you are in a main event match specifically, and splitting appearance/tv/event bonuses into separate categories. Added termination clauses (these are basically hard-coded now as far as I can determine). Allow the worker to buy out their contract if they want to. Added "free termination" clauses if the worker violates (if we catch you using hard drugs again, we can fire you without paying you anything more). Added limited-compete clauses. A few options here (and the options in the middle show how this works). You can work for companies of a size range in a certain region (Sure, you can work in Hawaii if you want, so long as the company doesn't get too big). You can work for companies of a size range in a certain area (Go ahead and work in Japan. Might do you some good.) You can work for a specific company (You don't want to give up working for BHOTWG? Ok, fine, we'll let you work with them.) And no more guessing which company they'll chose to work for unless you want to. It can be contractually obligated to make your company the priority, to let the other company be priority (to accommodate pre-existing contracts), or to let the worker decide. I added medical reimbursements...this is kind of a bonus suggestion. Make medical procedures cost money. And let the company decide whether or not to pay for these, or some percentage of them. Similarly, I expanded travel costs to be a percentage paid by company. I put in an option to require the worker to relocate (to an Area or specific Region), and for the company to pay some or all of the relocation cost. I expanded the Hiring Veto/Creative Control/Wage Matching. The first two would have limited versions where the company can pay to overrule the worker's veto. The last I added a limited version as well where the worker would be guaranteed to be the Xth biggest salary in the company. I'd also say that you can choose between Xth highest worker in general, or wrestler/referee/announcer/road agent/etc. specifically. Once you choose all your clauses, the worker considers it for a day or two as he currently would, except there are more options to consider. When he comes back, it would come right back to this same screen, except the top text would be updated to something like: Andrews: "Your offer was decent, but USPW has improved their offer. They have offered $12,000 a month for 48 months, and will let me work for any company in Japan. They have also offered to pay 50% of any medical costs, and have agreed to automatically extend my contract if I am unable to work due to injury." An additional sub-benefit of this contract style would be that if additional ideas for clauses were found, they could be added to the GUI without having to redesign it all.
 11. Is it possible to make the booking screen in show order still (that is, main event on the bottom)? I thought I'd found it, but the checkbox didn't seem to have any effect on the show I was running at the time.

Well, I guess to be more honest, it starts in early childhood when I discovered my love for all things wrestling. I grew enthralled with SWF and HGC from the US, and the Hammer from Japan. I got lots of tapes, and devoured every moment. And then, at a family event (I can't remember which one), I met Kashmir Singh. He was family, of a sort. I mean, he was like the brother in law of a sister in law of my mother, or something like that. I was never very clear on the actual relationship, but there was a real-life wrestler, part of my family. So of course, he quickly became my favorite. I started watching his work with PSW and FCW, shelling out what little allowance I had to get some tapes shipped over. Talked to him off and on over the years, starstruck fan to indy wrestler. But that was about it, or so I thought. Anyway, back to Diwali. Our celebration was another one of those huge extended family things, with probably around four or five hundred people in the building. Everyone was mingling. When Kashmir came up to me instead of the other way around. "Heya, Baljit." Yes, my name is really Baljit. His isn't really Kashmir, but that's another story. "You still watching wrestling?" Well, go figure. I'm starstruck again. I kind of stammer for a bit before I'm able to stutter out, "Uh, yeah, a bit. The big companies mostly now that you're not wrestling anymore." And then, he dropped the bomb. "I would have thought you'd have come to the Academy when I opened it up, then. It always seemed to be in your wheelhouse. Why didn't you sign up? You're eighteen now, right?" More stammering. Yeah, really putting on an air of confidence here, Baljit. "Uh, well...I wasn't sure if you'd remember me. And trying to use family connections just seemed wrong, somehow." "Nonsense. To be honest, I was kind of surprised not to see your face. No worries, though. The MWA is just the first step to bringing the industry here, and I think you'd be perfect for the next step." He paused, and I almost certainly had a terribly confused look on my face. "The Academy is there to train people. But what good is training people if there's no place for them to put on a show. I'm starting a real federation, based in Delhi." I snapped out of my shock. He wasn't saying what I thought he was, was he? "You mean, you want me to come wrestle for you? Yes, definitely, yes!" He shook his head, but just slightly. "Baljit, calm down. I'm not here to ask if you want to wrestle, though that could certainly be on the cards if you wanted. No, I've been watching your posts. Your storyline ideas with the big guys? I think they're brilliant. And if I'm honest, my creative ideas are lacking. I don't want you just as a wrestler. I want you to run the show. What do you think?" Yep. There I am, staring at my hero. My idol, who has just asked me to book and honest to go professional wrestling company. Waiting for my answer, and I'm just standing there like an idiot. Believe me, I was yelling at myself in my head. Finally, I snapped out of it, and cautiously asked the proper question. "Are...are you sure? I'm eighteen, and I have NO experience in this. This isn't something you want to get someone more experienced in to do?" He gave me a smile then. "Not at all. Look, India's got a long way to go before we're able to even keep a real audience. I'm not sure I could even convince anyone to come over here and book a company right now, even if I did think they had better ideas than you. But they aren't the ones I want. I want your creativity. I think you've got what it takes. But I can understand your concerns. So why don't you take a look at this," he says as he hands me a manila folder. "Take a look at what I want DSPW to be. If you think you can handle it, I'm hoping to run our first show in January. Give me a call." We shook hands, and I just kind of wandered in a stupor for a while. From there...well, I guess it's pretty obvious I ended up agreeing to his offer. Pulled in the guys who'd already graduated MWA, though we don't technically have any sort of formal relationship in place, that's likely to be a good source of people for us for a while. With Kashmir's approval, reached out to a couple guys from the US who were unemployed and brought them in. Some veteran types who could help all us new guys in the ring. And just around the corner, at long last, is DSPW Genesis. Our first show. I'm excited. I'm nervous. I think I might throw up before the show starts. But this...this is the start of my story. I'm going to make the best of it.

So, this is going to be a Road to Glory diary, sort of. I might end up leaving DSPW at some point, but I'm sticking with it for a minimum of three years, assuming it survives. India is active, obviously. I have no idea how it'll develop. The avatar is "Bollywood" Baljit. The image and name come from the default Avatar, but he was built with the RTG method. He's a Brawler, and I don't remember what stats he ended up with to begin with, but the Star Quality is a 74. I don't expect I'll keep track of achievements or the mystery boxes, but I'm sticking to the "I won't be an owner" rule. Starting talents are Negotiation 2, Motivation 4, Creativity 9, Leadership 7, Diplomacy 3, and Silver Tongue 5. I kept DSPW as it was in the editor, except I reduced the popularity to 0 (after the game started -- I forgot to do it in the editor), and the money to $1,000. That means our style is "Family Friendly Pro Wrestling". We're currently using a strictly enforced Face/Heel divide, but I may change that at some point.
 16.
When talking to workers, particularly in regards to 'Are you willing to work in X region'...do they ever say no?

I was playing around in India, and every worker I approached and asked if they were willing to work there (cuz it only has like 7 workers right now) said yes. So...is this something I should post to the suggestions/bugs forum, or have I just been lucky? I have, for the most part, only been talking to the unemployed, so that might make a difference.

 17. Is there an equivalent to a locker room leader in 2020? If so, how do I find that?
 18. Nah, it's not *hard* to do. It's just a pain and very time consuming. Same thing applies for tab stops (which I admit I haven't tested in 2020 yet), and getting them in a reasonable order. It's a simple setting, but it's one you have to go to every single button you care about and update individually.
 19.
So, with the new style of getting bigger, companies are basically locked into one way of doing things, assuming they don't want to relocate. If I'm in the Great Lakes, I basically have to move east or I'm not going to grow. Moving west instead basically doesn't improve the company. And gods forbid I try to move to Canada first.

And I think this could be OK...IF I had a selection of things to choose from. Once things move from the defaults, it would be cool if there were options. So Great Lakes might have "Eastward Expansion", "Westward Expansion", or "Northern Expansion", or "Midwestern Domination" as options. There would obviously have to be limits on when you can change it, or penalties for changing. But adding just a little player choice there would be HUGE.

 20. I believe (though I'm not certain) that this has been removed for two reasons. First, the Young Lions/Loyalty that was previously tied to an area is now tied to the federations, so that wasn't needed. Secondly, regional importance has been removed (and seems to be tied to certain Locations in each region?). Industry Level and Economy Level can be found in the Database Details, the button at the bottom of the editor. Community Size is the only thing I can't find...and I'm not sure how used that was to begin with.
 21. Yeah. This was meant to be a middle-of-the-road type thing. I search once for, say, "Basics 50-100, Psychology 50-100, Technical 50-100" and save it as "ok technicians". Then when I want it again, I can just select the template and get the same search.
