  1. I wanted to gauge the interest in a fairly bizarre concept. As some of you may know, I've been running my own indy promotion in real life for about nine months now. Pro Wrestling Takeover debuted with our first event in September and we've not looked back since. I've been considering running our events in TEW and keeping a journal of things that way; comparing the grades the game engine gives each segment or match with what I actually saw/see with my own eyes. That plus the undeniable fun that is the backstage drama, the glimpses into who these people really are behind their public personas is quite fascinating. It struck me when I realized last night that I write our show scripts the exact same way that I used to write TEW diaries. Felt like reaching out to see if there might be an audience for something like that, or whether it was too far away from the center. LOL.
  2. <p>Wanted to weigh in with a concept I'm trying out, using TCW as my initial try out the new '16 C-Verse company.</p><p> </p><p> Given that USPW is a juggernaut in waiting, that SWF still has the biggest name, and that Tommy Cornell is taking up residence on the other side of the globe, something drastic needs to be done to keep TCW on the level, let alone having any thoughts about nudging USPW out of the top spot.</p><p> </p><p> Enter the COTT.</p><p> </p><p> I don't know why the fit didn't occur to me before, when I was dredging around, trying to come up with diary concepts. TCW's product fits in with the bulk of what the indy companies are trying to do. Why not make TCW the flagship company of the COTT? TCW has TV and PPV coverage across the board where the small territories do not, by utilizing the talent trade option, TCW's roster is a lot more full than it is without the affiliation. </p><p> </p><p> I moved TCW's base of operations from California up the coast to Seattle, so as not to ruffle the feathers of CZCW, and I keep my shows to the other areas not occupied by the other members of the alliance. The spillover and TV/PPV keeps me going there in lieu of shows.</p><p> </p><p> I kept Total Wrestling, but dropped it to an hour long show, to keep the focus on the top guys in TCW. The Tuesday Night Wars are dead. I use the TCW Saturday Night Showcase as the COTT Weekly Showcase, where I book matches from all over the alliance while still keeping TCW a partial focus.</p><p> </p><p> Going well so far, seven months deep I've pushed past SWF and am still growing. I get to try out all of the indy darlings. There's no way USPW can snatch them all up. Fun idea, fun game save.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

  4. <p>Not sure if this as an alt request or not; if so, would someone fancy putting one of the updated Krusher Karloff heads on King Kong Kennedy's body? I want to use it as an alt for Marat.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  5. I dig it, smwilliams. Looks like it's got a bit of clever in the recipe. I like that.
  6. Jhd1, where-oh-where might I find that awesome Terry Thunder alt that has become your avatar picture? Or is that part of the surprise? A clue, even?
  7. I fooled around with the T-Verse Platinum release when it came out and was impressed by the scope of it and the attention to detail that was obviously spent by the creators. But for the last few weeks, I've been obsessed with a savegame other than my C-Verse diary one for the first time in....well, recent memory anyway. I'm rolling with AWF and am fairly certain that I am having the most fun with TEW I've had since it came out, '13 or any incarnation for that matter. Everything is just so perfect and so damned fresh that it's recaptured my inner fanboy. So, I guess what I'm saying is thank you to the folks that put this all together for the effort and the unholy amount of time a project like this must have taken. Kudos to you all. For real. It really has enriched my gaming experience. Best, NN
  8. This pretty much hits the nail on the head. The occasional "hey, I'm still reading" post is great to let you know that someone is following along, but without any discussion of the diary, it can feel like you are writing in a vacuum sometimes. I know personally, I have always appreciated the folks that offer predictions with some small notes underneath that explain why they picked like they did. And I've always been fond of Self's assertion in his diary that folks pick who they'd like to see win, not necessarily who they think will win. That said, (sorry to ramble) I think more the more replies a diary has, the more views it is likely to get, just based on its position on the board. Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd, right?
  9. Can't say I agree with that. WWF was the only national promotion in the country and even at the outset of Turner's buying in, WCW was a distant second. Sticking to the metaphor I started with, you can't be David when you were already Goliath. WCW rose to the the same heights as WWF and then started beating them at their own game. That's the infuriating part; they never acknowledge that WCW was beating them at their own game, that they were put on the ropes when WCW used the same tactics as WWF did when closing down all of the regionals. I mean, it makes for a better story. Who doesn't love an underdog? But living through it, watching it play out as a fan, week-to-week, it's not what they are portraying it to be.
  10. Just wanted to check and see if anyone else was getting tired of watching the Monday Night Wars series on the WWE network? When they started, I ate them up and really enjoyed them, as it was my favorite period in wrestling. But as they continue, the revisionist history is almost too much to bear. They actually tend to paint Vince McMahon as some sort of plucky underdog David taking on Ted Turner's Goliath. I understand that history is written by the victors, but they are getting ridiculous. I find myself wondering how WCW would have made the same series if they had won and launched their own network. Thoughts?
  11. Sounds pretty damned awesome. I'm going to buy my tickets now and hope for front row.
