  1. I've got no issue at all with Charlotte breaking the streak, or the way it was done. It was refreshing that it was done in such a way that they mentioned it, but didn't make it this big huge main thing so that when it did end it was a surprise. Charlotte doesn't need it, no, but there is no one better for Asuka to have her streak ended to than the best woman on the roster. Also, it gets the whole monkey of the streak off her back before it becomes this huge thing that is the only thing about Asuka and they can now use the fact it has ended moving forward.

  3. <p>K-Nection, that reasoning only makes sense if the heels the faces get the comeuppance against are the heels they are facing at the PPV.</p><p> </p><p> Maybe they are building to that, but seems pretty clear so far that we're getting The Shield vs The New Day not New Day vs Owens/Zayn.</p><p> </p><p> Also, as SM82 says, regardless they should do what they are told to do. If they have an issue, talk it out with New Day and the bookers, don't agree to it, go out there, and do your own thing.</p><p> </p><p> All this is, of course, subject to what happened being what is reported to have happened.</p>
  4. <p>Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been sent home from the European Tour after 'going in to business for themselves' during Smackdown Live.</p><p> </p><p> Apparently they were meant to take a beatdown by New Day after the match but Owens rolled in hit Kofi a few times and then they scarpered. Also, apparently a few backstage sources have come out and said they have been a little difficult to work with lately and have seemed out of sorts.</p><p> </p><p> If that is the true reason, then that is pretty stupid by Owens/Zayn. Zayn is the most relevant he has ever been by a mile, and Owens is in probably his biggest storyline and is arguably the main heel on SD.</p>
  5. <p>Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae released.</p><p> </p><p> Really like Emma and Darren Young though Summer Rae is terrible.</p>

Angle to be taken out backstage before the match starts, or something.</p>
  7. <p>What was already looking like one of the poorest PPV cards in a long time has been further messed with!</p><p> </p><p> Roman Reigns is out of TLC and will be replaced by Kurt Angle!</p><p> Bray Wyatt is out and Finn Balor will now face AJ Styles!</p><p> </p><p> A very troublesome time for WWE atm. Neville walked out, Nia Jax has taken a leave of absence but will reportedly be back for the European Tour at the start of November, and Owens has left the current Smackdown tour due to personal reasons.</p><p> </p><p> Now the main match at TLC has lost Roman Reigns and Wyatt is confirmed as out due to the viral meningitis bug that he, Bo Dallas and JoJo have all reportedly been suffering with. </p><p> </p><p> No word on why Reigns is out, but the obvious assumption would be the virus has indeed spread further and I now wonder if that means we're going to see others taking time off over the next week or two.</p>
  8. I'm going to play Devil's Advocate a little here by saying that, I wasn't watching during this period as it was before my time, so I'm going off what you describe and what has been said many times when I hear this subject come up. But, I do think that Vince putting a show on the same night is different to WCW giving away WWF results. Vince putting a show on the same night means people have a choice of where to spend their money. They can still choose the WCW PPV over WWF if they want. But anyone tuning in to a weekly episode of WCW with the intention of watching the weekly WWF show afterwards, and having WCW spoil WWF for them is a shitty move, and it serves them right that it backfired.
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Blackman" data-cite="Blackman" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Yet another loss for Bray, but I assume people realize his character is not about getting the win, but rather getting into the head of his opponent and unphase them. But letting him beat up locals won't help anything, so it's kind of a weird situation.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's the thing, we get his character is all about psyching his opponent out and getting inside their head, but what is the point of that if he loses every match? Just makes you think he might want to start rethinking his tactics, if anything.</p><p> </p><p> Surely the end game of his psychological tactics is to help him win? Or is his character one that is happy to constantly lose as long as he perturbed his opponent a little in the buildup?</p><p> </p><p> Wyatt is one in a long list of characters with potential that the WWE have got completely wrong.</p>
  10. <p>I really have been enjoying Breezango since their face-turn.</p><p> </p><p> I'd really like to know who has been attacking them. Sad thing is, I honestly don't think WWE knows themselves.</p>
  11. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has voted so far, 12 people, very much appreciated and will help me shape my upcoming diary.
  12. <p>Hi guys,</p><p> </p><p> hope it is ok to ask here. I have asked in the diary questions thread in 2016 dynasties but figured I'd ask here as well as I am looking to start a WWE diary soon and wondered if people could take a few minutes to fill out a very quick poll on a few questions that could shape the direction of parts of my diary. It would be very much appreciated if you could.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://www.survey-maker.com/Q301NPM" rel="external nofollow">https://www.survey-maker.com/Q301NPM</a></p>
  13. <p>Hi folks,</p><p> </p><p> After a very long hiatus I'm looking at starting up a new WWE diary soon, and just wanted some feedback that could shape the direction of parts of my diary. I've set up a poll with 6 questions and if anyone who is interested in WWE could find 3 minutes to have a look and answer them it would be much appreciated.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://www.survey-maker.com/Q301NPM" rel="external nofollow">https://www.survey-maker.com/Q301NPM</a></p>
  14. I love HBK but please god no. He's retired and that should mean something. That's forgetting the fact he has already faced him twice. Austin hasn't wrestled for 14 years and I just don't see him ever having another match. I would be about as interested in Goldberg facing Taker as someone like Strowman. We know The Rock is going to be there but unless they go down the route of the pair not facing off before the event I can't see Rock's promos working well with Taker. Don't watch TNA but can Angle still cut it at that level? I'd pop hard if it was him but not sure what state he's in considering when he first left WWE he was being kept together with glue and duct tape. Odds are on Sting, imo.
  15. I'm not sure where I stand on Alicia Fox. I mean she is much improved now than where she was a few years ago, but I still find her a bit sloppy at times, and her Scissors Kick finisher she only gets right about 30% of the time and the rest it looks awful. But then, like others have said, she only ever gets 3-4 minute matches. I really do wish the Divas division could (be allowed to) flourish one day. They have missed some great opportunities and woefully used some class talent so for me it's hard to think they'll ever stop dropping the ball with the Divas. I'd like to think Beth Phoenix would still be wrestling if she wasn't used so poorly, then think of the thriving division we could be witnessing now if they actually put proper time and thought in to it all. Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Kharma, AJ Lee, Paige, Natalya, Charlotte, Sasha Banks. Then The Bella's, Becky Lynch, Bayley and other up and comers. But it seems they can only book one feud at a time then the challenger gets totally dropped off the face of the earth for the next challenger, and that just repeats. They may be trying to do something by having the 3x3x3 feud they've been pushing of late but it really hasn't been done very well at all. Well, this turned in to a fair old rant, but I always just get frustrated when I think of what the Divas division could actually be.
  16. So, I've been thinking back to the time when I got in to WWE properly, which was building up to WMXX. Back then you had the following who were at the top or there abouts, wrestlers who were really entertaining in one form or another, be it awesome in-ring talent, a great entertainer or both: Brock Lesnar Kurt Angle Eddie Guerrero Shawn Michaels Triple H The Undertaker Chris Benoit Chris Jericho Seem to recall Angle/Lesnar having a really good feud in the months before Mania, whilst Eddie and Benoit were getting their rewards on the biggest PPV to ever take place by that point. I've always loved HBK and I still can't think of a heel who has been built as well as HHH was since that time. The Undertaker was always good for a decent feud and match, especially his myriad speciality matches such as Casket, Last Ride and Buried Alive. Jericho is just awesome, pure and simple. Then you had John Cena who was just starting to carve out his domination of the main event scene, Randy Orton who was really coming along nicely and Edge, who was just starting to build his name as a singles competitor. Christian was around then and I've always liked him too. Now who have you got? You certainly haven't got 8 to the rival the list from back then: John Cena Randy Orton Daniel Bryan That's about the total of people I'd put at the level of the list above. Obviously you've got Jericho and Lesnar but they're both part-time or sporadic and The Undertaker who appears once a year. It's pretty poor looking at it like that, really. Punk being around still would make it 4 but that's still half of what we had 10 years ago. It's frustrating because there are so many who could be up there or at least the level below but due to awful, inconsistent booking, over pushing of the very top few, and, imo, an over saturation of tv exposure, they just haven't built a good many people anywhere close to as well as they could have. So many talented youngsters who haven't been given the proper backing to really get over, such as Ziggler, Barrett. You've got the likes of Rollins, Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Cesaro but I'm sure the WWE will **** them up, too. Perhaps I'm a little clouded by nostalgia and people will tell me that I shouldn't be adding one or another to the list from 10 years ago, but I certainly can't think of anyone else who you can put on the top list for the present. And the fact that of those 3, everyones tired of 1, the other seems to either be loved or hated, whislt only 1 seems to be universally liked. Anyway, thought this could potentially be an interesting discussion. To summarise: The roster depth is ****-poor compared to 10 years ago.
  17. With Teddy Long gone I hope on this weeks Smackdown, in tribute, that there will just be two faces and two heels arguing in the ring for two hours and no-one knows how to resolve it.
  18. <p><a href="http://gfycat.com/DeadlyFinishedBoar" rel="external nofollow">http://gfycat.com/DeadlyFinishedBoar</a></p><p> </p><p> Embarrassing. No surprise people can't take TNA seriously <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  19. <p>After what I posted on the last page I've come to the perfect compromise, having had an epiphany.</p><p> </p><p> I won't be starting my new diary the night after Summerslam, but will instead be starting it the night after Battleground. This is still more than far enough away from Wrestlemania - which will now be the 6th ppv in my diary as opposed to the 8th - and still allows me to change the things I was most keen to change with the added bonus of the feuds that I was pretty much looking to copy quite closely now being well in place rather than having to copy them from the start. </p><p> </p><p> I can start my diary and get a good few months in place whilst still waiting to see what real WWE do from now up to Wrestlemania, and I have never felt better in terms of finally starting my new diary than I do now <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  20. <p>See, I know all that makes sense but I always just end up constantly questioning myself.</p><p> </p><p> If I change too much, then it isn't realistic and I'm just changing for changes sake. If I barely change anything then I'm essentially just recapping 6 months of WWE for everyone <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> As I say I think I'll just wait and see what the WMXXX card will be, maybe even watch as far as WMXXX itself then set about starting from Summerslam.</p><p> </p><p> Absolutely no intention of starting post Rumble even though looking at it now it would be the easier and probably more initially exciting thing to do, as having Mania in my diary so early would be an anti-climax (even though my previous diary started the night after the Rumble).</p><p> </p><p> I know what 'mistakes' I want to rectify and which things I want to keep (with my own little tweaks as well). But if I start working on it now, even though I always planned on starting around now, Mania will happen and I'll be like 'oh yeah that would have been a great match to have' or 'now they've made that match that I didn't see coming, that makes far more sense than mine'.</p><p> </p><p> Also, to add, I'll be doing my diary a little differently. I won't be using the game, but I'm planning on divising an algorithm to have some random injuries now and then so it won't be a case of everyone is always available. But that's another problem, as soon as I get a random injury to Cena or Punk and it messes my plans up then I'm screwed. I guess I could follow real life injuries/return times but then everyone knows when someone will get injured and return, so I can't do that. Meh, I'll figure something out.</p>
  21. <p>Hey folks. This isn't a diary preview but figured this was the best place to put this.</p><p> </p><p> I've been wanting to start a new diary for the past 2/3 years but I can never get it started. The idea is to do a WWE diary that is realistic, but improving in the things the WWE gets badly wrong, whilst sticking with things they get right. So keeping the best things that make sense whilst putting my own spin on things. I pick out a start point that makes sense, then just enjoy watching the WWE for the next few months to see where things are going so I have a good realistic base to work off. For example what I'm currently planning on is having a diary start the night after Summerslam, and I decided this not long after the event itself. It's a good place to start with HHH screwing Bryan, and Cena going off for surgery for a while, and also the standard of the next few ppv's after Summerslam were pretty poor so I can change things up to improve them.</p><p> </p><p> However, having planned to make this week the week I sit down and look at things, I suddenly think, would it make sense to start after the Rumble? I've done this several times now and it's annoying. Thing is I absolutely don't want to start there as I don't want Wrestlemania to be only the second ppv in my diary, however I've looked at what would be a really good but realistic card given the current goings on in the WWE. I still want to start back at Summerslam but then if I end up with most matches at Mania being similar in terms of realism but with my own way of getting there and my own matches as well in some cases, will it be worth it, as 8 months in to a diary and things are still similarish to real?</p><p> </p><p> Even if I did decide screw it I'm going to start the night after the Rumble, then something else will happen that makes me think a different starting point would be better. It's a vicious cycle.</p><p> </p><p> I want to see what the card will be for Mania either way before I start as I do want it to be realistic to real life, but to be able to change what I don't think is good.</p><p> </p><p> I've got an idea in my head as to matches that should happen at Mania regardless of whether they come up in real.</p><p> </p><p> I really do want and intend to start it after Summerslam, but I always end up looking at another point and thinking it would be so much more ideal a point to start from.</p><p> </p><p> I don't expect any help with this, it was just an outlet to vent my frustrations really.</p><p> </p><p> Bah <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  22. Yeah, I could easily do without Batista returning in all honesty. Same for RVD. RVD has never done anything for me, and as you say, Batista's return was pretty lackluster. I can see why they are doing it for WM30, but I hope after this year they start to build properly for the future, stop bringing the old guard back all the time, and actually put the effort in with the future superstars so that we care about them enough for them to be the main attractions at Mania's for years to come. Ziggler, Rhodes, Big E, Sandow, Cesaro, Barrett, Shield members are some that immediately spring to mind. Drew McIntyre even, I was very hopeful for him.
  23. I never watched WCW so I don't really have an opinion on Sting. From what I've read he is highly regarded and would at one time have had a great match with Taker. But personally I would have zero interest in seeing Taker defend his streak against someone who I've never actually seen before who is coming in and immediately getting to face him at Mania ahead of current superstars who could get a huge rub from a match vs Taker at Mania. He's 54, Taker needs someone younger who can really take a lot of the load for the match. I'd much rather see him face John Cena, Daniel Bryan, or someone like Brock Lesnar. Even someone like Dolph Ziggler to get that rub. The Taker match is always one I look forward to, despite the outcome being pretty obvious. It's the quality of the match that does it, and more often than not over the past several years it has been really good, but a lot of that is dependant on his opponent. The matches with HBK being some of my favourite matches of all. I would have no interest in a match between Taker and Sting.
  24. <p>Yes, I'm really not a fan of the themed ppv's. TLC the only one I don't really mind, but desperately want to see HIAC removed and only have HIAC matches when they are as a blowoff to a mega feud.</p><p> </p><p> MITB should go back to being one match at Wrestlemania and Elimination Chamber - like HIAC - should not be a ppv, but a matchtype used only as a specialty match every couple/few years when a situation warrants it.</p>
