  2. I just brought EA's new World Cup FOOTBALL game and what grinds my gears is the same thing that always does for EA sports titles: The bias of the referee/umpires toward the computer player! really frustrating and it's never changed! :p
  3. Ignorant people like this grind my gears.

I think that comment may have been a nod to the title of the topic, the comment is a direct quote of Peter Griffin in the family guy movie when he gets sacked from his segment on the news.

  4. Anyone else gone to TNAwrestling.com and voted on that ranking system thingy? Obviously it'll be tweaked for storylines but OUR VOTES COUNT! Desmond Wolfe is currently winning the poll (26%) with Jeff Hardy in second (21%). Curiously, Abyss is in last. Why people don't think a blubbering, sycophantic hulkamaniac is world champion material is beyond me.

Didn't watch TNA (or RAW) but still felt qualified to tell them who they should push. I voted Pope, because he's pimpin'.

I voted for Wolfe just because he is Nigel McGuinness! However I think the poll looks very jobberific, couldn't they in this day and age have a poll on their own website. Maybe it's just being picky.

  5. Ok, I'll admit it! I'm the jackass driver who honks at you when you wait too long at a stop sign, who flips you off as I pass you in a double line because you were going the speed limit, and who will box you in with a semi truck for a period of no less than 5 minutes if you stray into the left lane on the highway going slower then the traffic on the right.

I'm the scourge of the road and I loathe you all, expel your hatred upon me! :D

I hate all those things when driving! :p

    5) Children who continually cry and scream in restaraunts.

    6) People in supermarkets who think it is Ok to leave there trolly sideways in an aisle while they stand in the other half of the aisle, thus blocking the entire p*****g thing.

    7) People that don't say excuse me when they walk into you. (I have a reflex and I say it when it wasn't even my fault)

I agree with those, working in retail most of those happen multiple times a day.

These construction guys were making lude comments. I mean seriously what is it with pigheaded men?

You should hear what the girls at my work talk about

I never get these people! Along with this, groups of people who must.. jsut must walk side by side and block the entirety of time from passing.

I had this happen, almost, twice today. I work retail, so, I deal with people, and the stupidest people all at once, everyday.

Another thing, along that idea, are people who walk straight at you, and make no effort to move out of your way at all. Why should I have to move?

This too, retail may just be second to hopitality in dealing with the most annoying and stupid people.

  6. That's your opinion, I disagree. I think more people should be encouraged to keep their mouths shut. I am bored of people debating things like religion on a sim game forum. I've heard debates like this since I was 13 and they haven't gotten any more intelligent. Someone always gets upset, there is always the holier than thou athiest (which is hilariously ironic but still gets old fast) and it always seems to lead to the same conclusion. Begrudging agreement to disagree ... which is pretty much where they would have been if the debate never started.

No offence to the people who are debating religion, but seriously ... is this the best place for it and do you REALLY think your views on this are any more valid than anyone elses? I think there is a difference between being ignorant and being smart enough to know when to stay out of something and just let it go.

I think it was more FINishers assesment that people who believe in a higher power are mentally ill that got people posting. However these kinds of debates are just human nature, I usually just avoid threads discussing this type of thing because of the reasons you gave.

  7. So the best franchise in the history of pro sports is over-rated? Okay.....

Well technically BHK the Yankees have the most championships in history however they have what 27 championships out of a possible 107? That comes out to winning 25 percent of their perspective sports championships.

To where as the Montreal Canadians have 23 championships in only 92 seasons. Which brings them to 25 perecnt of their perspective sports championships as well.

The Celtics have won 17 championships in 62 years of the NBA Championship. That brings their championship percentage 27 percent of their prospective sports champoinships.

The Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls out of a possible 44 bringing their total to only 13 percent.

Thats just the "americanized" sports. So its easy to look at the Yankees who have the most championships but also have the most years active as a sports team as the greatest team in the history of sports but the only criteria we could use for this is championship wins percentages with a sample size of atleast 50 seasons I'd say that the Celtics have proven to be just as successful if not technically more successful than the Yankees. Not to mention the Canadians had dominated Hockey the same way the Yankees have dominated baseball.

Greatest baseball franchise of all time? Absolutely greatest sports franchise of all time? Their in the discussion but I wouldn't say their the clear cut winner. Once you factor in championship win percetanges, decades with championships, multiple year championship wins, strength of league, opponents, etc.

I would say that you could make an argument for one of the greatest of all time, but with the differences between sports I don't think there should be a definate greatest ever.

  8. There have been alot of rumours surrounding the guy in the spoilers and his future in the company. Potential spoiler: Batista apparently was removed from the lead role in a WWE films movie in favour of Triple H, rumour has it that WWE made the decision because they were unsure of his future in the company. Batista has also been missing from the list of superstars on the cards for future PPV promotions and is nearing the end of his contract.
  9. I'd like to be able to debate this more but my written debating skills are not very good and I am not able to express my views as well as I would like to. I will just say this, you cannot make a definate view on either religion or athieism without opening your mind and trying to learn as much as you can about the whatever teaching they may have.

I try judging people on their personality, not race, religion, colour or even the sports teams they support! What I don't like are people who display such extreme negitivity about subjects like this, whatever side of the line they are on.

Yes, the bit that annoys me when I have people knocking on my door to "sell" religion is that they will always accept that there is just one true power - however, this power is exactly what they believe in, and every other religion is worshipping an incorrect interpretation of that God.

And as proof they come up with "look around you, the proof's everywhere". Oh yes, you're right, Buddha's clearly just an interpretation of their God. Proven. I've got an open mind, but really? You expect me to be sold just like that?

I know it may be splitting hairs but Buddha is not a god, he is considered a spiritual leader and teacher. I only know this because I recently watched a program on Buddha, not because I'm a know it all! :p

That's probably the best thing to do. Technically I guess I'm an atheist (not that I like to label it) so I sort of share some of FINisher's opinions, but I also find Religion a fascinating and wonderful subject, and often find myself jealous of true believer's conviction and strength of will. I could wade into the discussion on several points, but... Who am I? I'm just some random dude eating cereal in his underpants. What do I know?

I know this topic is "serious business" but that made me laugh, good work. :D

  10. I have always wondered about the star quality thing. I have never looked at Swagger and thought of him as a person who should be placed past US and IC rankings. Sheamus also in comparison to the size of other main eventers does not look like a star either to me. Pale skin and red hair suddenly works? I don't know I personally look at star quality as a way the person connects with the crowd. If the crowd doesn't care that the person is out there than they are not doing their job and should not be showcased. Someone like William Regal, who can connect to the crowds to get the reaction he wants is someone I find to be an excellent draw. You don't have to look like a ferocious monster to be one, you just have to be able to make people believe you are.

The WWE likes unique looks as I think they find them more marketable, when you add in his physical attributes Sheamus becomes a credible choice for Vinny Mac. The Triple H connection may have only sped up his rise, but if I remember correctly a few years ago there was a buzz about SO'S work on the Internet.

  11. I take it you didn't see the recent episode, not being a fan and all. Yes. The censoring of Muhammed's image was a major joke in the episode. The entire plot revolved around it. That's cool, and led to some amusement (his costume cracked me up every time) What we're talking about is how in Part 2 (and only part 2) of this 2-parter, the name 'Muhammed' was bleeped whenever it was said. It's a stark contrast to the first part (where the name was said freely and frequently) and the dudes who made the show have said this wasn't their doing. They say the network bleeped it. They could be lying. It could have been intentional. I don't know.

To me, the who, what or why isn't important. I found the bleeps annoying, because the name was said (and therefore bleeped) so frequently. It was distracting... which may have been the point "complex issues distracting from simple, harmless entertainment". Or maybe some threats were made, folks got scared, so on, so forth.

If I'm thinking of the same episode the part 2 of "Cartoon wars" the name Muhammad was not censored over here, however I don't see why the name alone would be offensive to Muslims.

Tea Partiers. Glenn Beck. Rush Limbaugh. Sarah Palin. All those people who are riding the "oh no we have a socialist/black/democrat president this is the end of america" hysteria wave and say the stupidest and most outrageous things. And then people believe them.

Thats why I find the Daily Show and Colbert Report funny, the way these people are presented means you can't take what they say seriously and it really shows you how hypocritical they are.

  12. People who can't take a joke, political correctness, religious people and people who say that they are offended by something.

The South Park censoring of Muhammed pisses me off. Once again the threats of religious fundamentalists are listened to and obeyed for some odd reason. Why can't we just stop this nonsense? It's the year 2010 and the world should be free of religion. Lets leave it in the history books, please. It's over. Religions are finished. It's a mental illness, nothing more, nothing less. Let's start treating it as such.

That post sounds like an atheist fundamentalist, it almost sounds like the religious fundamentalists you dislike. The way I see it, respect somebodies views and the fact that they may be different to yours, there is no need to say people have a mental illness because they believe differently to you. To cast all people who believe in a higher power off as some bible/koran bashing nutcase isn't the way to go, stereotyping people is a very narrow way of thinking.

As for South Park I think what Matt and Trey were trying to show is the network were too worried about offending Muslims but did not worry about the showing of somebody crapping (literally) all over Jesus and the President of the United States. They were showing the hypocrisy of the PC world we live in at the moment.

Having said all that I agree about the political correctness and the fact that people don't seem to see the lighter side of things once in a while. :D

  13. How did they try to push Shelton? He was on an amazing roll with his victory over Triple H years ago but in the typical fashion at the time, Triple H squashed him and killed all of Shelton's momentum and heat. Shelton could have been an instant main eventer for the WWE but Hunter's selfishness and politics killed him off like so many who suffered from Hunter during that time period. There are many others with far less skill and talent than Shelton who were pushed a lot farther. A good booker can make a star out of anyone, and Shelton's only missing tool was mic work. It should have been far too easy to get him to the top and they dropped the ball massively with him.

It would have been good if Shelton was given a manager to help him in this area. If Shelton does sign for TNA hopefully they put him with Ric Flair who I think could help him alot. A 4 Horseman type group of Flair (the manager), AJ Styles (the star), Benjamin & Haas (the tag team) and Matt Morgan (the muscle) would be something I'd try and do in TNA.

  14. There is a bit of talk on forums and news sites that WWE won't be able to get their wrestlers to New Jersey in time for Raw due to the smoke and ash from a volcano in Iceland. Most of the Raw roster is in Belfast, NI for some house shows and with British airspace closed, WWE may have to improvise a show. I think the Smackdown roster is is Spain which I also think has a flight ban right now.
  15. What the hell do some people have against Waltman? I already saw - dozens of times- a bunch of people here saying he's the worst thing that happened after George W. Bush, although no one used these actual words. :D I don't dislike Waltman. And i do understand that he's not anyone's favorite guy (Sure as hell ain't mine either) but he's not that bad, i think.

His ring work is okay, it's just he is the same now as he was in the late 90's. I used to like him 10+ years ago but now I just don't.

  16. Although I admit to agreeing to most of your post, I can't help saying I like Nash. I like him more now then I did "back in the day".

I really don't think he needs to be doing much in the way of match's, but maybe getting him into a more manager type role would be nice.

In fact, I like all the old guys as managers. Believe it or not, it brings me back to the older days of wrestling, when there were far more managers that actually had talent, that helped in ring talents. This is where I would like the older guys to fall into place, even Hogan. Maybe give Bischoff a swerve where he somehow gets full reigns of the company, and Hogan has to "find" someone that will stand up against him, and get Hogan's rightfull place back in controll of the company.

Just thoughts they could do before some of these guys start keeling over.

I also am liking Nash and even Hall, it's Waltman I can't stand. I always thought TNA could use the Band as a way to give some younger guys a "rub". Have Hall and Nash run with two potential breakout guys instead of jobbing to Team 3D.

  17. xD lol yeah apologies, just based on different logic to the tna one I suppose.

My answer is simple: Heath Slater.

    It's the hair right! :p

Personally, I wouldn't cut many people from the WWE just try different people to push. Possibly make the Womens div's stronger too.

    I'd cut:

    Slam Master J

Jimmy Yang (His talents are of better use eslewhere)

Croft and Barreta need to go back to FCW

More difficult than the TNA question. The rosters are of a manageable size, and WWE are pretty good at choosing their featured players and sticking to them week-to-week.

From RAW (aiming to cut to 20 males, 8 females) I'd cut Chris Masters, Chavo Guerrero, Mark Henry, Primo & Vladamir Koslov. I like them all to an extent, but they're played out. From the girls I'd drop Jillian and The Bella Twins. Kelly Kelly's on the bubble.

From Smackdown (aiming to cut to 22 males, 6 females) I'd cut Funaki, Slam Master J, Kane, Jimmy Wang Yang, Ezekial Jackson & Mike Knox. Tough choices there. Kane & Knox have a lot of value. Common sense would dictate cutting The Dudebusters, but no can do. They're too awesome. From the girls I'd lose Tiffany.

From NXT (aiming to keep 4) I'd cut Darren Young, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver and... um... Toss up between Otunga & Gabriel. Otunga's got a great gimmick, but Gabriel's got the mobility to be a good job guy. Screw it. Wade Barrett is cut. His appeal is all-Jericho atm.

I agree with alot of those, most I didn't include in my list because I like them or see other uses.

I always thought the Bella twins could be used as valets for the ultra c0cky upper/midcard heel. Kozlov could of been an awesome heel, I've missed most of his run so I don't know if he failed or WWE dropped the ball.

  18. I think it would be a fun project to make a list of who we would cut

This was a good idea brought up in the TNA thread and I'd thought that it would be worth bringing to the WWE thread.

I think we need a list like this for the WWE thread too, it would make for good discussion.
