I just wanted say thanks for this great database. It's everything you could want. You could play as intended as McMahon, or you could modify the database to have a different owner (Jerry Jarrett, maybe). Or you could even close WCW down and decide to start a company from scratch. Really open-ended.

Yep, I've personally transformed the database to make Bischoff the owner, had the Fusient Media deal gone through, and made the changes he stated in interviews he was going to do. Having a great time with it.

  3. I don't necessarily think Sinclair's debt is relevant. Their debt does not equal ROH's debt. Being in debt does not mean Sinclair is about to fold or anything anyway. They're launching a major sports streaming service next year that will cost a ton.

I would say it does hurt somewhat, as you don't just terminate all your contracts and go on hiatus for the lulz. In TEW, a move like that in-world would be like dropping a whole pop level, which maybe you could do instead of the debt. I may just personally start them at $0 instead of debt when the data releases.

So I feel like maybe everyone should be on a 1 month written contract and see how things play out for talent between now and December. But then you have the issue of the game trying to re-sign people when their contract is coming up. Since we don't know when/if they'll come back after the hiatus, maybe set ROH to close in January 2022 and reassess for the following update? (not even sure if that works, to be honest)</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Seems you can't set a company to close, as I tried it last night and it didn't happen, and I believe the manual also says you can't do it. </p><p> </p><p> The underlying cause of this seems to be a money issue, so maybe just put them in a bunch of debt and see what happens? I may just make two saves, one where I close the company immediately and have them set to open April 2022, or just do the debt thing if you want to use them as a company to try and "save them."</p>
  5. Does nobody use eras? I know it feels like a neglected feature but it absolutely helps. The way I've been able to tame the out of control PPV revenue is to set the PPV numbers for the era to lower/much lower (and just set one long 100+ year era).

I assume the same would be true for TV numbers too which are in eras as well.

Never thought of this, and testing it on Much Lower, this does seem to work perfectly. In the RWC mod, RAW got a 1.9, AEW a 1.2, and SmackDown a 2.7.

Guess I'll be using this trick for every game I start now. Great find!

  6. Currently playing as AEW in the Sep 2021 playthrough and I'm in January 2022. One thing I noticed was that in the span of a month, WWE opted NOT to re-sign AJ Styles, Cesaro or Brock Lesnar who still all have very high popularity.

    Anyone know what's up here?

I guess a way you could work around it is when it seems a contract like that is coming up, just go into the editor and just boost it back to a year or two.

  7. Is 22 people (working for $30/show and getting mad whenever they're left out) too ambitious? How can I address that? I don't want to cut down to, like, 10 people unless I have to, and I'd still have to pay locals to flesh out shows. Might as well keep a few guys around to job, right?

When I run locals, I do basically as you said in the latter personally and it works well for me. Have a low number of actual 'contracted' guys (basically the people I intend to revolve my company around), then day of show just hire locals to job. Also helps in keeping a strong focus of who your true players are.

As a side tip, I don't even bother with a tag team division in the first 3-6 months, because that simply means paying extra people for the night when you can just be saving money and doing only singles matches.
