  1. Just wanted to say that we've got an impressive amount of people who have put their hands up and braved the idea of a teamwork based mod. Work is already progressing way faster than ever before and even if it all implodes tomorrow I've already got a great deal more information and tossing around of ideas than would have happened if it was just me talking to the wall. So for that, thanks to everyone so far!
  2. As it happens, I just so happen to have a heap of bios that need doing Sending a PM your way!
  3. Noob help is a-ok We all start somewhere haha Okay, what I've decided to do is start up a Trello board. I may do a Google Doc afterwards, but this is a bit cleaner and makes it easier for me to keep track of things. It's basically a moving plan of what I'd like to do, what's still to do, and what's been done. Members can be assigned to tasks, discussion can be had, and fun fun collaboration can be made I'll send a link to those who have shown interest and we can go from there. Continue to let me know if you're interested
  4. Great to see all the interest and that the fans have followed over from 2013 Fleisch, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on the data conversion process. I'm usually so busy with data that I don't get to play test the data as much as I would like Everyone else, I think I'll create a Google doc or something similar and we can start looking at getting this ball rolling
  5. Another post reserved. May come in use, because who knows?!
  6. Genadi reserves posts for writing about stuff later, so I should start doing it so people might confuse me and him
  7. #HYPE! It may have been a given at this stage, but just to make it official, the 9000-verse WILL be making an appearance on TEW 2016. For those who don't know, the 9000-verse is a mod that blends Comics & Manga; Cartoons & Anime; a bit of pop-culture & movies; GDS & some other bits and pieces and smooshes it all in your face like a giant pie, but instead of banana cream the filling is lots of modular goodness If you're familiar with my workrate you'll know that it definitely won't be one of the first mods out the gate, and it may not even be one of the fifth, but it will get here eventually HOT OPS! Hot opportunities you say?! Yes! As mentioned, my output is as slow as cold molasses on a Slowpoke (just one of the many timeless references you might find in the 9000-verse!). But you know I've got a sizeable foundation to work from and you know that historically I do eventually deliver. I've got a lot of additions that I'd like to incorporate into the 9000-verse and I'm sure you've got yours, but right now I expect that most, if not all, of my work will be tweaking and bringing the existing 3,500 workers and other other data in line with 2016's new features. That's the bad news The good news is that I have this plan (inspired by DeadCeleb) where I'm thinking that maaaaaybe we could kinda crowd-source this thing? We all work together to make this thing bigger and more incomprehensible, yeah? Bit more Detail What I'm looking for right now is people who can would be willing to create workers and the odd promotion(s), that I would integrate into the full database. I'd give you a specific area of focus and potentially a list of workers, etc. and then you'd go at it. Of course I'm open to suggestions if you have specific interests. (One thing to know beforehand is that I am pretty snobby about artwork - a worker is less likely to make it into the database if the art style doesn't mesh or isn't to my taste. Just a heads up to that cute quirk of mine) The gameworld will be undergoing some changes from TEW 2013, and that'll be a clearer separation of countries and the focus within. So generally speaking Japan will be anime & manga; America will be comics; Canada will be cartoons & as well as 'toon-style' workers; United Kingdom will be video games; Australia & NZ will be Pokemon and any other animal/monster style battling that might fit the bill; and lastly Mexico will be luchador as well as a safe haven for Real World wrestlers that may have been sucked into the 9000-verse -------- It's a half-baked plan right now, but if you're interested in contributing to the mod then leave a note in the comments!
  8. FINisher, if you complete this you'll be a legend in my eyes. Like "the guy who fixed Hercules' wifi when he had that important book report due in" status
  9. Consider the 9000-verse as freeware. (Of course I can't speak for any future DLC packs put out by people other than myself, mind)
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36188" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Crayon, I don't understand what you're talking about here. Star quality is how much the worker in question looks like a star... it makes no difference what role they are in, you can take one look at Batista and you will think he is a star. How he is used makes no difference at all, that's covered by his active roles. He wouldn't be very good at being a manager since he doesn't really have that skillset, but his star quality would shine through in every segment he is in... it's a trait that doesn't go away because you change his role to something else.<p> </p><p> A lot of managers will have relatively low star quality though... most of them are relatively small or are older than their clients... with star quality being a stat that drops with age and tends to favour people who stand out (big men do this more obviously, though anyone can have SQ) then a lot of managers will have less of it then their clients. But they'll make up for it in another way, usually with entertainment skills or a great look in another way (Sex appeal or menace).</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Hey Derek. What you've got above is what I was initially thinking in reference to your original write-up about skills. Although the big question is does SQ affect a worker's output as a manager (or color commentator)?</p><p> </p><p> It was just with what Flamesnoopy mentioned about the C-Verse having SQ set for managers (and the original rumor being that good Managers and Color Commentary <em>should</em> have SQ set high) that made me think that it's something that's <span style="text-decoration:underline;">definitely</span> required, although with the original write-up only mentioning wrestlers and what you've noted above it's now making me think that maybe it's not actually a requirement (purely in terms of results).</p><p> </p><p> Naturally, as a modder I'm less interested in whether or not a worker should have this or that SQ based on general perspective of my impression of them, but moreso how much SQ I should give them to see a certain kind of results in the gameworld.</p><p> </p><p> Hope that makes sense <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="FlameSnoopy" data-cite="FlameSnoopy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36188" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Default CornellVerse database has star qualities set for managers so that's a firm yes - which makes sense since it's a "camera" skill <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ah true. Definitely muddies the waters a bit though, since it then becomes "SQ in a manager sense" and "SQ in a wrestler sense" (i.e., Batista may have high SQ as a wrestler, but I'd have a hard time saying "whoah, that guy looks like a kick ass manager")</p>
  12. Hey Derek, just checking in again and wondering if you have any thoughts on the below quote? Cheers!
  13. Awesome to hear; I'm definitely more keen to think of it in terms of how a mod will play out than capturing "real life" as it were, so I'm keen to see the write up. One other thing: in relation to Star Quality, should that be a factor when configuring Managers/Valets, Personalities, or Color Commentators? Rumor was that it was in the past, but I wondered if it's still the case.
  14. Fantastic read Derek! Any chance you could expound on the Personality stats, and specifically what they relate to in-game and what the medians might look like? For instance while I can see how how egotistical someone is might increase likelihood of backstage incidents, what does a worker's optimism play into? How well they take losses? A prerequisite to being a locker room leader? Or is it just a general thing to help add to that backstage harmony rating? In reference to medians I tend to look at 50/50 as being the average for most, but skew a little higher for Dependability and Drive, (the former assuming that having the majority of workers who are flaky 50% of the time would make for an annoying experience). Not sure if this is correct though.
