ME, UM + LM vs ME, UM + LM, where the Main Eventer pins the Lower Midcard guy, no one is really meant to go over, just a nice little match to fill in the card? <p> </p><p> Do you have to Keep Strong both the ME and UM on the losing side to make sure they don't bleed a bunch of overness?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm not 100% but I think just putting the Lower Midcarder to be the loser should be enough. Since it is a Main Eventer getting the win, it shouldn't hurt the other team much at all. Maybe add the Open Match note to make sure everyone is seen as being at the same level. </p><p> </p><p> Now to my question: What is the difference between losing a match and putting someone over when talking to a worker? I asked Sting if he would mind losing to Jeff Jarrett at a PPV, and he said he would have no problem with that booking. I then asked if he would mind putting Jarrett over, and he said no. Does this mean he would be upset if he came out of a feud looking bad against Jarrett?</p>
  2. http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=544952 That's a thread where people talk about broad or specific goings on in their saves. It's a good place to get ideas. There is also a "booking committee" thread I believe. It may be a few pages back, but in that you can ask for ideas for workers or stories in your game. Another great place for inspiration is the dynasty section. You can either find a dynasty based on the promotion you are running, or just pick one and start reading. There is a near unlimited number of creative ideas in those threads.
  3. Does this mean that there is no way to do an out of the blue heel turn then?
  4. A completely different question for TV Tapings: Does is still increase the fatigue and chance of injury to workers to have them in multiple matches even if matches are on different shows but taped on the same night? So far I've only ever booked 2 shows at a time to avoid crowd burnout, but am guessing that worker fatigue would work the same.
  5. <p>What is the difference between losing a match and putting someone over?</p><p> </p><p> As an example, in the "talk to worker" section I asked Jeff Hardy(Star) how he would feel about losing a match at an event and at TV to CM Punk (Unimportant). Both times he said he would have no complaints about that booking. I then asked if he would be willing to put CM Punk over, and he responded that CM Punk is way down from his level, so he would be unwilling to put him over.</p>
  6. I use "Open Match" for every match unless it is specifically a squash match. Am I using that note wrong? Wow. In all my years playing TEW, I never once thought about using a flash pinfall together with a tainted win. Actually, I've only ever used it for a face getting a win. In my mind, I've booked many nut shot/roll-up finishes, but I've always just put tainted win as the note.
  7. <p>I usually only ever use Keep Strong when I want someone to lose without being pissed off about it. In my current TNA 2004 save that means The Sandman losing to anyone below him. This is what I assume the game intends for this note, as I could give less than a shit about Sandman, but want lower card guys like CM Punk, Abyss, etc. to suck up as much pop from him as I can before he quits. </p><p> </p><p> Reading through this thread, however, got me thinking about a real life example and how the game would handle it. I'm thinking about the Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy Ladder match for the title years ago on RAW (I think?). In TEW I would think you would run this match and give Hardy the Keep Strong note so he comes out looking like a champ even in a loss, but that would ding the match rating. In real life, that match was a damn good PPV match, and the fact it happened on free TV makes it even better. If you would book this match in TEW, would it be as memorable in the game world as it is in the real world?</p>

It seems like it is so much more to do this than just pay them per show.<p> </p><p> Also what is the point of them being exclusive if you have to pay them more?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The point of being exclusive is so your competition can't sign them away from you.</p>
  9. So I was browsing through all the different product settings for the game and came across a seed that has been growing in my head for a week or so: Comic Book Dark! No matter what save I am playing, I can't stop thinking about the possibilities for this. Since I can't think of anything else, I decided to just play around with it. The basic premise is Marvel vs. DC in the CVerse. I think I'm going to go start the save off with normal wrestling and slowly build in a Super Villain invasion using the NWO blueprint. Of course, since the good guys are just regular wrestlers and the bad guys have super powers, the good guys are going to lose badly. They will just get beat on no matter what they do until eventually the Super Heroes so up to even the odds. My first problem is if I want to start a new company from scratch. or take over as owner of an existing one and change it over. I'm going to try it by taking over as the owner of NYCW because NYC is a great place for this all to go down. They would also need a full year for the product change to take effect, giving all the time in the world to set up my "Universe". The downside is they are a Tiny company with no money to start. This project is going to be heavily reliant on entertainment. All of the heroes and Villains will wear masks, so do I toy with the alter-ego feature and basically double my roster for free? Do I eventually just wipe the fed free of "normal" wrestlers or do I keep them around for fodder/entertainment value? And the best part of it all...coming up with tons of hero/villain identities and keeping them all as far from plagerising actual DC and Marvel. So if I can help it, no Super Kid. Wish me luck!
  10. <p>So I'm wondering if Aaron Andrews got hit with a bad destiny roll to start my game. I was given the owner goal of keeping him above 71 pop, which I thought should be easy enough. He's the face of my company and the top title holder, but after only 2 months, his pop has already dropped from it's starting point of 82 down to 77. He's been in the majority of my best rated angles, has white hot momentum, and has a record of 6-2-0. His two losses came when Sammy Bach took a tainted pinfall from Doc Hammond in a tag match on the first show of the game and a tainted loss to Killer Shark after interference from Jay Chord. I only had him lose to Shark because he offered to put him over and it was a decent way to build his match with Chord at The War to Settle the Score. </p><p> </p><p> The rest of my save is going pretty good, but at this point I am worried I won't even make it to Total Mayhem before being shit canned for not meeting what I thought was an easy owner's goal.</p>
  11. <p>This is a pre-emptive question I guess, but how would you go about extending a contract for a short term worker on limited dates by adding one or two extra dates?</p><p> </p><p> Playing Rising Storm as a created company, I signed Big John Studd to a short term contract with only 4 appearances. After finalizing the contract I thought of an idea that would need at least one more appearance. Can I extend his contract by apearances? If he has 2 appearances left and I re-sign him for 1 will the game register that I want him for 3 more appearances or just the 1 I resigned him for? He is being used specifically to feed to Sid Vicious to give Sid something to do on a PPV that doesn't involve my World Title or the guy he is in a storyline with, so I have no intention to keep him long term unless he sets the world on fire.</p>
  12. <p>There are no rules as to which mod you use. I've done these in the past, and they have all been Real World mods. This is my first one in C-Verse.</p><p> </p><p> As far as posting goes, I may be speaking out of turn here, but I'm pretty sure there are no rules on that either. I never posted much on my old RTG's. The reason I am doing yearly recaps this time around is more to keep me focused on the game then letting others know about it. I tend to get destracted pretty easily with this game. When I play one game, I am thinking about what I could do with a different mod. So posting my progress here kind of keeps me focused on sticking with it through some of the boring patches that you can hit when running small companies.</p>
  13. Year 2 in the books. This year I spent more time focusing on my roster than I did my UC. That coupled with only running one show a month means the stat gains were pretty minimal. I'm thinking $30,000 should be a pretty decent cushion to make the jump. Or I could wait until my Importance hits 15 so it can take the impact of losing a couple monthly battles to PSW. Right now I come in second regularly between myself, PSW, and NYCW. I'm well ahead of NYCW, but just as far behind PSW so it will take some time to climb that mountain. The Mystery Box: 14. "Painkillers are mankind's way of saying 'just watch me'" +20 to your pain killer habit. Edit: Some game world news: - SAISHO, BCG, and MAW went out of business. - ACPW were given $25,000,000 by a dieing fan
  14. I made the jump to small and three months later got knocked back down to local. I went from putting on shows in the mid 40s to struggling to hit 30. Does the production values effect the show grades that much? If so, I'm going to have to cap my growth at local until I get enough money to afford the higher production costs so I have a shot at competing in the regional battles.
