1. I would LOVE to take advantage of this (if you decide to post it at a later date)!
 2. It's less 'giving up' and more embracing reality. I enjoyed the theory of LAX Wrestling; however, booking the first show was a daunting affair. I couldn't get behind the characters like I thought I could and, before I knew it, I felt like I was just spinning my wheels for the sake of spinning them (as if, I can't survive without a TEW Dynasty in my life). Deadly Overloaded Action is relatively the same product. While the original was 'key' on modern, I'm thinking of dropping that down to 'medium' or 'heavy' in the new version (if I went that route). I've come to realize that booking 'niche products' can be really hard. I tend to do better when the product is wide-open (allowing for big men, small fliers, technitions, etc.). I've come to realize that I like booking big brawler types and the original 'key modern' approach doesn't allow for that really.
 3. I thought that but part of the reason I'm running with DOA is there's already logo/belts available. That makes it much easier.
 4. I don't know where else to post this; so, I apologize if this isn't 'the right location for such'. That said, after a lengthy thought process, I've decided that I will no longer pursue LAX Wrestling as a project. I know that I did a lot of work leading up to the point; however, as I continued to flesh out the company, I felt like it would eventually falter (I just had a feeling). I don't want to just start a project in which to have it fail right away as that's something I have, thankfully, grown out of with age (WAR & SWF being too examples of this). That said, I would like to think that there's a project out there left to do in whatever free time I have available. I know that I will never be able to write the kind of depth that I once did. I also know that I won't be able to update my projects as much I did in the past as well (most likely only getting to it when I really have time; which could be a month in between shows if it had to be that way). I feel, at this point, that readers would still be okay with a project if they knew it was going to be a slow-burner. I know that waiting a month isn't ideal and, in some cases, may cause you to forget what's been happening. I think I could construct a few ways to remedy that (ie: possibly having a 'storyline section' of the dynasty where there's a brief synopsis of what storylines are running at that time). This is where I'm starting to think aloud... I've recently contemplated resurrecting Deadly Overloaded Action. I had fun with the product and it posed a great challenge (being #4 in the US being the 'Big Three'). I don't know if it would be under the same manner as before (owned by a TV Network) or if I would take some liberties with the company itself. Part of me wants to just re-boot the entire thing with a new background, new owner, new wrestlers and have it stand on its own. However, there's also part of me that is afraid of the dissonance that would follow with doing such a thing (anyone who read my previous attempts may feel it's weird to see DOA in a different form than they once saw). Then again, time may alleviate the last issue. If I kept it with Arcadia, I would most likely still re-boot the series. It would start at 'day one'; voiding out the '1st season approach' that we put up before. In the new version, there wouldn't be 'seasons' per se. It would be more about being a wrestling company who just happens to be owned by a TV network (as if TNA was bought out by Spike or something). With the latter approach, I have even considered going back 'into the well' of sorts and possibly having John Greed or Victor Page as the headbooker. If this were the case, at least with Greed, it would be John Greed as the cornellverse has created up until now (not the injured, drugged out, loser-face). Again, I don't know if this would feel weird to others to see (envisioning DOA, much like it was, but in a different way -- Cornellverse 13 or 14). I guess, I wanted to let you know that LAX Wrestling isn't going to happen. That said, I also wanted to talk about what others might think about a potential DOA return, possible change of backstory, and/or the whole thing. (Again, sorry if this isn't where this is supposed to go).

Instead, Bischoff and Hogan came in and now, leading out of that era, it looks like the company is struggling to stay alive. Hindsight is always 20-20 but there's a lot that went on since Hogan/Bischoff that have really pulled this ship downward.

Would Heyman have done anything better? Was TNA destined to flounder and eventually die off (regardless of who came along -- the WWE is just too powerful to challenge)? As a wrestling fan, I wish it would have gone the Heyman way.

 8. After much thinking, I believe I have the make-up of LAX Wrestling. With that said, I won't overtake this thread much longer (Just wanted to talk through some things and see what others thought before I go into true development). The company will be owned/created by Carl Batch. While an East Coast guy to start with (DaVE), he's spent a few years in the lucha world down in FCW. Plus, his pre-set business sense has him preferring a "MTV-Styled Modern" style (which, in a way, will work great with LAX). The final product will be: KEY: Cult HEAVY: Traditional & Modern MEDIUM: Risque, Lucha Libre, Daredevil, and Mainstream I know that "Traditional" (by the name) seems funny to have it so high; however, it's to create good storytelling. Plus, Mainstream at "medium" still gives you an ability to have some not SO grungy characters (as I want to have a good, well-rounded, feel that way). The show will be full of colorful characters indicative of Los Angeles. I really want it to feel like the city itself; full of a LOT of different people (egotistical people, off-beat, fame-driven, fame-hungry, underground rebels). In a way, it'll be a slightly more 'extreme-like' Underground (from my SWF dynasty). I'm not sure what MY user character will be but I'm guessing he'll be a created person (as I don't really like what I have out there). This figure will become a protege of Carl Batch & brought in as a 'pet project' (more or less) as his headbooker. I'm pretty excited about this one now. All I need to go ahead now is a logo, some belts, and then start writing!

Examples like Remmy Honeyman as the masked Honey Man, The Atlantic Connection, Curtis Jenkins and Riley McManus, as hipsters, Achilles The Mighty as the Spartan came out from 300, Ben Williams as Sponge Ben, Cal Sanders as El Medico Canadiense, Philippe LaGrenier and Canadian Crusher as Les Quebecois or the indy darlings KC Glenn as a Cyrax-like robot and Mainstream becoming the emo Cult Hernandez.

As a suggestion, I would like to see Chess Maniac and DeChiper as Los Hombres Pensantes, The Thinking Men.

I like unknowns but not an entire company made of them. That said, for the most part, the roster is extremely new to me (haven't booked any of them). My main event scene is Hernandez, Insane Machine, and possibly a "ship jumper" from CZCW (one story I'm working with). Outside of that, LAX is made up of a bunch of luchas, unknowns, and KC Glenn (who I'm thinking of putting under a mask).

I'm not pulling many, if any East coast guys, and keeping it mostly regional wrestlers (keeping with the culture I'm looking to create).

The product still weighs popularity over performance; so, I need my 'over guys' to help the shows. That said, there won't be many over an E in overness.

 10.
I think I've found a project that I'm extremely interested in (that will work with my extremely limited schedule).

It's a high-small/low-regional company based in Los Angeles (LAX Wrestling -- Los Angeles Xtreme Wrestling). It'll be a cult promotion with heavy modern, medium Lucha/Daredevil/Mainstream/Risqué.

It'd be more of a throwback approach for me (user character based like Evolution of Greed).

Colorful characters, grunge feel, Lucha-inspired...

The roster doesn't use current CZCW wrestlers or major Indy darlings (Hernandez and Insane Machine being the real 'stars').

Would this be more of interest to readers out there (versus the internet darling approach).

 11. I'm on my phone; so, my response will be brief. You all bring up good points. There is a tiresome feel to running with names like this. I thought these names would give the company more of a "I need to see this" feel; however, can totally understand the "already done that" feel. I'll have to think about it further. After so many dynasties, you start to run out of ideas. Haha
 12. Yea, that's what I was thinking as well. It really lends itself to the writer's creation versus "fitting in a box". I totally see what you're saying. These guys are typically picked up by most anyone writing a dynasty. I guess it's for a reason though; being the most talented guys on the indy scene. The hard part I'm looking at is, to create a scenario where a company is centered around promoting "home grown" talent that are the future stars of our industry, you kind of need these guys to develop around. Sure, there would be guys who aren't at that level on the roster but, banking on 'the future', you want the guys who will provide the best return. That's what I wanted a project like this to feel like... "We are a new company, bringing a new feel, and bringing you the BEST up-and-coming talent in the industry that you haven't seen before" (While they show up in dynasties, they aren't 'known' to the average cornellverse viewer due to never working in the big three).
 13. QUESTION: Do you, as a reader (follower), find interest in created companies in the cornellverse? I know that companies like SWF, TCW, and USPW have built-in interest due to familiarity (and the ability to be played by everyone). That's why, I believe, my SWF project was more followed than projects like DOA/WAR (I still had great followings, just not to the same widespread level). That said, would you still read a project centered around a company that is not in your default game? My time is super limited but I believe I could write for a company if... 1) They were small enough to have less frequent shows, 2) A smaller roster, and 3) wouldn't need updating every (or even every other) week. It'd be in more of a recap scenario (promos are not written out); so, not to my typical depth. It'd be a regional company that's focused around elevating the best of the Indy world; creating the Faith's, Strong's, Keith's, etc. of tomorrow. So, essentially giving depth to people like Remmy Skye, The Cali Dragons, Mainstream Hernandez, etc. While there would be a few people who've been seen on TV in one of the big 3, the majority of the roster would be 'new' to the mainstream wrestling fan (making them "home grown"). So, it's more of a "concept project" versus just booking a known company/wrestlers. Would this be of interest (even with the more recap results) to you?

 16. Honestly, part of me wonders if they pulled the trigger on EY because of all the press the WWE has been getting as of late (ie: Wrestlemania, the streak being broken, new talent rising, etc.). Then again, I would hope not as TNA/Impact Wrestling can't get into that game (trying to compete with the WWE). I, for one, haven't really been watching as of late; so, I'm unaware if they've made EY into a legit threat. That said, from what I remember in the past, he's always been booked as somewhat of a joke. Now, he's the World Champion? That just seems like a terrible choice if you ask me.
 17. Yea...... It's probably only my opinion, becoming a crinkly 'old' wrestling fan, but that just devalues the wrestler/finisher. The "super" vibe of the show, kicking out of finishers, is a sad reality for storytelling in wrestling.
 18. A trillion percent agree. I find it so undermining to have the constant 'kick out of a finisher' scenario with WM. It devalues the move in doing so. I didn't watch it but I think I read Bryan kicked out of a pedigree? If so, that's ridiculous.
 19.
I must say, I was certainly shocked by Lesnar beating Taker. The build-up was really poor for such a huge victory. I guess, what I'm saying is, I'm not annoyed that Lesnar broke it (as, honestly, not to sound like Madden but it's 'fake wrestling'), it's just that I would expected more of a lead-up; so, the win felt more powerful in nature. From here though, I really hope that the WWE & Lesnar have worked out something where he can be utilized more often. If Lesnar breaks the streak and then goes back to wrestling 2-3 matches a year, then I'm afraid it will feel a little bit of a let down.

That said, if Lesnar sticks around, shows his face more often, and possibly even comes away with the belt at some point (with a nice build-up) then I'd say it was well worth it. He's only 36. Honestly, if he really wanted to, he could go slightly more full-time (not totally but closer than what he did last year) and really be the centerpiece of the company as a whole. Will that happen? No idea.

For those who wanted someone like Reigns to 'break the streak', I just don't think he was ready. He's exciting, don't get me wrong, but he needs a lot of in-ring & character development to 'get there'. Honestly, I'd rather see a Reigns/Rock match before I would see a UT/Reigns match.

Is there anyone else who could have been a good choice to 'break the streak'? Honestly, no. I really like Bray Wyatt but it's, again, too early for a win like that. Sometimes, those 'big wins' can crush you more than it can 'make you'. There's a lot of pressure on your shoulders if you do something like 'break the streak'; some guys aren't cut out for that. As someone said in this thread, can't remember sorry, the last thing you wanted to do was break the streak with a guy who may fizzle out & never quite get there. We've seen WAY to many instances of that over the years.

All in all, I was shocked, yes, but Lesnar winning makes sense. Now, let's see what happens from here with Brock. That could be what really 'makes or breaks' this win for me (overall).

 20.

Unless pro football offers you a special level of joy that the college game just doesn't get for you than i don't see a single reason Madden 25 is more apt for a long term game.

In fact I find the computer is more likely to build superteams and stay competitive in NCAA than in Madden, where unless you runt he team players don't develop properly and (generally speaking) most of the teams wash out to a level of medcority. And unless you are a complete fool in ten years you will have BY FAR the best team in the game.

I find in the NCAA game it's a lot harder to be and stay the best.

I think it's more of wanting something new. I've been playing NCAA Football 14 since the summer and have done 2 different 15+ season careers with my coach. In the last one, I won 3 National Championships in a row with Colorado and pretty much have the sliders all set so I should lose (Heisman; heavy on the side of CPU for sliders). It just doesn't seem as much fun.

I was looking at Madden 25 because I hear it's a pretty good in-game football game. Plus, the owner mode gives me something new to work on versus just doing the same old song-and-dance-and-dominate that I get in college.

At least, in the NFL, you get contracts, drafting, etc.

I'm not 100% sold on buying the game yet though. I've bought Madden almost every year in the past; however, swore to never do it again with Madden 13. It was unplayable to me with the terrible stats (too high). It felt arcade-like; where I like more of a realistic approach.

 21.
How is the long-term play-ability of Madden 25 (xbox360)?

I just finished a long-term game with NCAA Football 14 and am burned out at the notion of playing another go-around. That said, I'm, for whatever reason, contemplating buying Madden 25 (even though I decided, in August, that I wasn't going to given the reviews I read).

Is it a solid game for multiple season play?

Thank you!
