So as posted in the Thwarted Plans thread, my "World" title plans just got scuttled by injury and I'm looking for some input. It's currently December 2020, with my Season Finale show not until June. The biggest event in the meantime is in February, the Rip Chord Invitational, which the winner gets a title shot at the Season Finale (usually). Here are my 4 candidates to win the belt at the next show:

Mobstar: Usually pulls the best ratings of the show, 2 time champion under a written contract. However since dropping the title, he's been staying out of the main event scene more. At age 34, if he starts slowing down, he might start going towards the Grand Slam next (he needs 1 midcard title & the tag titles).

Steven Parker: The former champion, he's the oldest candidate at 36, but also pulls match grades at Mobstar's level (low-mid 80s match performances). Part of 6 of the company's top 10 matches despite only having been around for about a year and a half.

Lenny Brown: On the rise, loosely associated with a pair of youngsters that could become a stable (Fro Sure & Bret Heartbreak). Just signed a written contract to stay instead of going to TCW. Hasn't been champion yet. Match performances tend to be in the high 70s to low 80s.

Aldous Blackfriar: The new top ranking member of Scythe's heel stable, The Black Night. Autopush puts him at Upper Midcard, but the endgame of the Black Night story would have had him beating Scythe for the belt and taking control of the stable. He's definitely the lowest on the totem pole of the 4, but has some story claim to the belt.

Thoughts, opinions, ideas?

Gotta be Lenny Brown. That way there's time to tease Blackfriar properly.

 2. Something akin to these? https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/40/c3/f0/40c3f07bfbff85d2251e1b7ba28ca20b.jpg
 3. Could I get a reworking of a Sammy Bach and a James Prudence with 90s surfer headbands et al?
 4. These days I have a spreadsheet with the worker's name next to the link for the current pic associated with that worker. Nice and simple.
 5. That depends on how your diaries are doing and who's following them to begin with, but I honestly recommend not getting too far ahead of your readers anyhow. There are a few reasons for this. First, it encourages you to focus on the writing more, making for a better diary that pulls more folks in. Second, and more important, your game has one audience but your diary has two; the digital numbers of your attendance and how they like your shows, and the way your readers grab onto a given wrestler's story. Being able to throw a stronger spotlight on someone when he catches fire with your readers is well worth doing in terms of building something enjoyable. Have a long term plan by all means, but be ready to modulate for feedback. If you're steadily months ahead, you miss opportunities.
 6. The trick is to remind yourself that the good stuff works when it's been built up to.
 7. Yeah, I get the intent behind the phrasing. But people don't call themselves 'seemingly' unless they're doing intro narration for their own TV show, and that's all I was picking up on.
 8. The basic concept is sound, the voice is mostly there, and I do like me some Mayhem Midden. He probably wouldn't describe himself as 'seemingly' retired, though. People don't tend to. "I was unemployed, a lot of folks thought I was retired..."
 9. Personally I've always written in my text program of choice, then cut&pasted.
 10. Personally, I love it. Thanks, Bolt - this is likely to debut in my diary at the next PPV.
 11. That's awesome, though his gear's supposed to be a full body suit - any chance of the first one with his shoulders covered up? Electrico is a really strong midcarder for my HGC game...
 12. So at the moment I'm running an MAW game where I'm taking the 'make new stars' bit seriously. But what I've done is develop a split-tier show format, where the second hour has the big name contests that bring in the audience and sell the DVDs, while the first half is the MAW HomeGrownRookie Hour, with a great many 'showcase' bouts. Every so often someone emerges from the first half into the second. I expct the next will be Cheyne Martel, a Canadian rookie super-heavyweight with great Performance skills and rapidly improving Brawling and Aerial/.
 13. This is definitely true, and one of the things I keep saying about diary advice in general. But I'm also with Self in terms of... Hell, even if your projects were other strong names like Austin Smooth, I'd be more excited to read about them. Cali Dragons are prime-time ready instantly. Mainstream Hernandez has had 4-5 different takes on them in big-name diaries. Austin needs work to get him there. So do various others. Maybe sim a couple years forward into the database to unlock some more less-often-seens?
 14. To me, E-V, this is kind of like saying "I'm going to start a company that will promote home grown US talent of the sort WWE and TNA will want to hire. My first home-grown picks will be Kevin Steen, Green Ant, and the Young Bucks."
 15. I like 'em, but just and upright men need not hide themselves. All shall be well. And all manner of things shall be well.

I like it - much obliged!

 17. So here's a weird one. Anyone feel up to the task of making Mammoth look younger? Just signed his regen in my MAW game.

 19.
I've got a yen to do a very light diary.

Specifically, I'm chewing over doing a MAW diary done entirely in backstage shenanigans, not talking about the shows in any great detail, but intercutting my user character's booking conversations with workers' retrospective shoot interviews.

I'm not sure this actually works, though. Thoughts, folks?
