2.
Is there a way to see which of your developmental guys are at a training facility? The only way I can tell is if I click to send them to the training facility and get a pop up that they are already there.

If you send them straight from the main roster to the training facility it says in their status box they are at the facility, but it doesn't if you send them to a developmental territory first.

  3. So I found another thing I'm not so hot on for EMLL - and really while I want products to be adjustable - Fans are put off by cheap endings. This promotion has people from Hell, undead, a trickster god. Wouldn't they be expected to cheat to win. It doesn't really seem to match the theme of the promotion.

Despite the LU feel, the in game description mentions comic books and fighting games. I think the no cheap finishes thing is a nod to the “must be a winner” aspect of fighting games.

  4. Yeah there are a few I haven't figured out yet. Some that just say "from elsewhere in the multiverse." So far i've got them separated into mostly Prime, Dark, and Hellmouth with a few outliers

    Prime

    Anarchist

    Aprendiz Jr.

    Blue Wolf

    Boriken Love Machine

    Captain Lucha

    El Bandito Jr.

    Hijo Del Vigilante

    La Estrella

    Powerful Man

    Pyromaniac

    Scorpion

Snake King - It says that he is a follower of the Snake God who broke the universe into the multiverse but not that he is from another realm

Tarantula - It says he worships the Spider god but not that he's from a different realm

    Hell Mouth

    Calavera

    El Hijo Del Fantasma

    Guerrero Muerto

    Hellfire

    Dark

    Charron

    Cyclops

    La Bestia Morada

    Malefic

    Samael the Accuser

    Trickster

    Future Prime

    Rey Soldado

    Time Stream

    Screamer

    Water World

    Dolphin Master

    ???

    Death's Head

    Decipher

    Delirium

    Demon King

    Goblin Prince

    Noxious

I'm thinking about making Goblin King from a Fey universe and giving him a bunch of Fey followers like Redcap and stuff. Death's Head is part of the KoB but not sure if the KoB is from the Dark Dimension or not.

I also like the Zebra Man is the only sane one among the field of Chaos.

If anyone has a different take or I missed something I'm all ears. I love this stuff but I'd like to get at least the given canon stuff right.

Nice. As far as Death's Head, I don't know what you would call it but I read it as the KoB emanating from its own universe.

  5. So EMLL seems ripe for factions and faction wars. Does anyone else see the only singles matches thing as a hindrance to good stroytelling?

I am for sure doing away with the no tag thing. It's a hindrance for storytelling and making use of your roster, IMO.

My general plan is to eventually have three rudos with unclear backgrounds join the Kingdom of Blood. They'll kidnap Cyclops, and Death's Head will force him to melt down the ring he created into three. They'll serve as the trios title. I'll probably make the Avatar of Chaos the new title-shot cash in option.

Also, they don't allow managers. This seems like a perfect place to have them. Gonna swap that out too.

  6.
A ton has changed for EMLL since 2016. What was a vague hardcore-theme lucha promotion is now an absolutely bonkers comic book/fighting promotion with storylines that make Lucha Underground seem normal. I've compiled all the lore from the game and ran through what makes this promotion tick. It's far more interesting than it was previously, despite some weird mechanics.

    The Product

EMLL uses Dark Fantasy Lucha, which is a type of Grindhouse Lucha Libre. It is rated on a 60-40 split between match quality and popularity, depending on what is rated highest.

So as to not bury the lede, the most important factor is that they only run singles matches. There are no trios and no tag teams. In fact, they only run one multi-man match each year. It is a four corners match where the winner obtains one of the three mystical rings the promotion uses for secondary titles. More on those later.

This product is heavy on hardcore matches but isn't a deathmatch product. It's hard to get TV, but you get a rabid fanbase that will accept all types of matches. Mask and hair matches are also huge, so it's a fun product.

    The EMLL Multiverse

The central theme behind EMLL's stories is the Multiverse. It's the idea that there are countless other timelines just like our own, and for some reason they have become intertwined in a Mexican wrestling promotion.

Most of the workers come from their own timeline, where Earth is very different. Dolphin Master comes from a version of the planet that is completely covered in water. Snake King comes from a timeline where earth is controlled by the powerful Snake God.

It remains unclear what timeline many of the workers come from. However, there are a few timelines that are big parts of the EMLL story. The Dark Universe is arguably the largest; at least five members of the roster hail from this mysterious, evil place.

Another shard of the multiverse central to these stories is the Hellmouth, a land of undead that is the source power for multiple wrestlers.

The rest of the story has not been fleshed out, although there are some hints in the wrestler bios.

    The Roster

The roster is large, with more than 30 regular workers for a promotion that runs once a month. If you stick the only singles match thing, you've got more people than you need. That said, your roster is very strong given the size of the promotion.

The top of the card is heavily tilted to the Rudos however, with 5 out of the 7 top stars and stars being heels. However, top technico Captain Lucha is the centerpoint of the company. Formerly Angel de Mexico, he was unmasked only to re-mask as the cartoon superhero version of himself.

You have quite a few good workers, with 7 or 8 guys that are rated 70 or above with their best style. The mic work isn't as strong, but you have a few guys that could probably improve quickly. You also have a fairly young roster, with your oldest star at 37 and most of them under 35.

    Roster Moves

There is no one that is a huge drag, skill-wise. You do have several green rookies that aren't great, but they all are cheap. If you are sticking with all singles matches, you have more guys than you can use already. While I wouldn't make any roster moves, adding a top face would be your best option. Chess Master is a good fit both for his popularity, his work, and his wacky gimmick. El Orgulloso is a strong option if you need a new face. He is popular enough to jump into midcard and would be arguably your best worker from day one. Unless you open tag teams or fire a bunch of people, you're pretty set with the workers you have.

    Titles

In 2017, Guerrero Muerto unified all three of the EMLL singles titles at Mortal Combat VI. Since then, Campeonato del Mundo EMLL has been the triple crown world title, and by far the top prize in the company. It is currently held by your top Technico, Captain Lucha.

For secondary titles, there are now three achievements known as the Rings of Power. Each of these rings is earned at annual events, and they are all a little different. In canon, these rings are immensely powerful objects taken from other parts of the multiverse.

The Ring of Life is considered the most powerful. It is won in EMLL's only non-singles match, a four way match that cocurs at the Battle for the Ring. It is not defended, but many stories revolve around workers trying to take it. Dolphin Master currently holds the ring. In canon, Charron is obsessed with the Ring of Life and believes he can destroy the multiverse entirely with it. It appears vacant ingame since it is not defended. Its origin is unknown.

The Ring of Chaos is earned each February by winning a battle royal. The winner becomes the Avatar of Chaos, although there is no mention of what that means. The Ring of Chaos has been used to control other wrestlers, however. It is currently held by Anarchist but is vacant ingame since its not defended. The Ring of Chaos comes from the Dark Universe, brought here by Trickster.

The Ring of Destiny has the most tangible benefits and is most like a secondary title. It allows the holder to cash in the ring for a title shot, and it can be defended in matches. It is also defended each December in a tournament. It is currently held by Deaths' Head. It was forged by Cyclops in the Dark Universe.

    Stables

Incredibly, there are none. Despite much talk of factions like the Kingdom of Blood, they are up to this point entirely made up of single members. Even the wrestler from the same part of the multiverse are not aligned. For example, Cyclops is a tecnico fugitive from the Dark Universe that does not get along with others from that shard of the multiverse.

There are hints of stables forming, however. Demon King is currently feuding over the title with Captain Lucha, and has vowed to build an army. Anarchist previously used the Ring of Chaos to control La Bestia Morada, but his former lackey is now his rival. Death's Head also seems primed to introduce more member of the Kingdom of Blood.

    Wrapping up

You have a ways to go before you can get TV or PPV, and your options are limited. However, getting popularity into the 20s in one other region gets you onto PPV, and two other regions gets you a TV deal. It's possible.

You are the only promotion based on Noreste, but you have potential regional battles with CILL and OLLIE depending on where they run. You also have a friendly relationship and talent trade agreement with CZCW, but you can't steal their guys.

This is about as wacky as it gets, but once you're on TV and making some money it's a perfect fed for making heavy use of cinematic matches. You also have a 100 percent backstage rating with no one proving to be too problematic. You could become a national player if you survive the poaching that is bound to happen along the way.

  7. Running some tests, and i'm struggling to get new deathmatch workers. After running through about 40 dojo graduates (for a dojo owned by a deathmatch promotion), none of the school trainees is willing to do a deathmatch.

Ideally, I would say a larger percentage of workers need to be willing to do deathmatches. Even better would be if companies with a certain risk level own a dojo, their graduates are far more likely to take on these matches.

Looking forward to trying something like GCW with a wrestling school constantly polishing up rookies.
