  1. Just wondering how those tweaks are going to the movesets and whatnot.

Are you planning to reduce the number of cards for some of those promotions? I ask because I'm getting close to finishing 1984 in my Lyger diary and I'd like to update with the best possible version.

Also, in a game I'm playing with Rookie to Legend, ASW and PPW keep cancelling touring shows due to a lack of workers. Is this because they are Garbage promotions? Anyone else had this problem? Maybe some more Garbage style workers are needed?

Anyway, love the changes so far and anxiously awaiting the next step! :D

  2. I'd say drop a few of those lower level promotions shows as well, DBG.

The progress can be a little unreasonable.

The problem I see though, is that as a rookie, it might be difficult to make enough money to survive. I guess it would take a little fiddling to see if it would work out. I think it could, but it might be a little tight.

As far as the progress being too slow, people who want faster progress could overcome it by joining more promotions and editing the scenario.

  3. I'm just wondering how much you guys think you might continue to update this scenario? The reason I ask is because in my career diary, I'm still using version 1.35!!! I'm thinking about updating the diary to the latest version, but I'm considering waiting until these updates slow down! Just curious about future plans!

Anyway...keep up the awesome work! :D

  4. An "unlace mask" move that stunned would also be a safe bet. As a Luchador whose mask is unlaced suddenly has other things to worry about than the guy in the ring with him, leaving him open to all sorts of mischief.

This sounds like a good idea, though it would be up to the player to role-play it a little so as not to try the move on a wrestler who doesn't wear a mask. The concept is cool though! :D

  5. I've got a question about the DOTT scenario.

As time goes on, do more workers get added to the database as they do in the Cornell-verse? What I mean is rookies who were too young at the beginning of the game.

On a related note, what would happen if one added a worker, say with a birthdate of 1970, who was much to young to begin wrestling? Would they appear later down the road? Is that even possible? Anyone tried this?

  6. You better try and repair it with Meada, he broke Choshu's orbital bone shooting on him in a match. He once tried to shoot on Andre the Giant too, and the match turned into Andre trying to gauge Maeda's eyes out, and Maeda just laying in kicks to his legs, Andre collapsed at the end and Inoki had to rush out and stop the match.

I'm trying, I'm trying! I know all about his rep so the last thing I want is to have him go all shoot on me in a match, especially since I see the guy 3 or 4 times a week! :D By the way, has anyone every repaired a bad relationship? All I do when I see him is say hello, tell him he looks good, and wish him luck. He generally ignores me. I must have talked to him 10 times in the last month of game time and he's not warming.

  7. Making friends

Is it just me or is it harder (almost impossible) to make friends if you're starting a game using a wrestler from the scenario rather than doing your own (Rookie to Legend).

I'm three weeks into my career as Jushin "Thunder" Lyger (check the dynasties ;)) and I've already made 6 friends, only one as the result of a tryout. The key here is to take the time every show to talk to everyone backstage and butter them up. Some guys take a lot of time, others only need one "Have you been working out?" to become friendly.

On a side note, be careful how fast you click when you're talking to people! I accidentally made an enemy of Akira Maeda by bragging and now I'm doing my damnedest to repair the damage but it's not going so well.

  8. Stats peaking issues

    Hey guys.

I'm having a problem with stat peaking again! :(

In my Lyger career I have peaked at 23 mic and 62 (or so) psychology. While Lyger maybe isn't so well known for his interviews, he definitely should have higher psychology, being one of the greatest lightweight wrestlers of all time. It only took two weeks game time to peak.

I know you guys are aware of this issue, so the only thing I can think of if you want a true rookie experience is to recreate your desired real-life rookie from scratch and hope over time he meets your expectations.

  9. A few tweaks

I've just started playing a career with Lyger (Liger? Personally I prefer the "Y" spelling. But the mod has both in different places.). I happened to notice a few adjustments that could be made.

    1. Lyger has no Running Lyger Bomb in his moveset! Since it is called a Lyger Bomb, I would think he might be the originator. In the description it is mentioned as being a move used by Ultimo Dragon. While that may be the case, I have changed the description in my game. Please correct me if you think I'm off-base here.

    2. I tweaked the moves list by copying Fisherman's Buster and renaming it Avalanche Brainbuster for Lyger. He doesn't seem to hook the leg Fisherman's Buster style in the excellent photo I have of the move in action. (Once I figure how to do all this zip file stuff, I'll send you some excellent move pics! Any tips on how to do that would help as I'm using a Japanese computer and I'm not too good with reading the language!)

    3. I changed Polynesian Pro to Japan and it seems to be going okay so far, but when I went backstage at the first show, Peter Maivia was there and when I clicked on his stat sheet, he had zeroes across the board! Not sure if this was my fault for messing with the data, but I checked the original DOTT files and zeroes there too.

Anyway, thought you might like to know! Time for bed! :D

  10. Title suggestion

Being a big fan of Stampede Wrestling, I'm planning to add the British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Title, held from 1978 to 1989 by mostly Dynamite Kid, Bret Hart, Bruce Hart, Gama Singh, Chris Benoit and Johhny Smith, among others. Just wondering if it was a choice for you guys to leave it out or if it was an oversight?

If you do decide to add it, The Cobra was champion at the start of this scenario, followed by Sonny Two Rivers (Junji Hirata as a Native American. Gotta love the eighties for political correctness! :D ).

And I'd also like to thank you guys for igniting my passion for a lost (almost!) promotion and the research that goes along with it. It really gives me an appreciation for the superb job you've done in creating this mod!

  11. Lower level Japan feds?

I'm wondering if there were any lower level feds in Japan at this time?

It seems a little difficult if you want to start a rookie career in Japan to get signed since the two available promotions are both Cult level. (I haven't tried, just anticipating! :D )

The closest thing I could come up with was Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling(?) which I believe didn't start up until '89. This was Atsushi Onita's garbage/hardcore fed famous for it's Death Matches.

I'm tempted to start it up myself as a local or small promotion a few years ahead of it's time, or switch Polynesian Pro to Japan for balance.

Any other suggestions for small Japanese promotions around this time?

  12. Great stuff. I'm doing a career as Bret Hart now.

Me too! and I was wondering if your stamina has peaked yet? Mine peaked at 62, which in my opinion is a little low for a guy who has seen a few Iron Man matches in his day.

Also, does anyone know if this will happen in every career with Bret or is it random in some way? Maybe Adam could answer that.

  13. Fan-freakin-tastic!

    You guys are incredible!!!

I was incredibly pleased when I checked the mods forum this afternoon and saw that version 1.0 was complete!

Your passion for the 80's is evident and I commend you on a job well done!

I'm hoping I can get Stampede Wrestling up to a higher level and keep Vince's grubby paws off my favorite 80's promotion.

And for those who are wondering about Rookie to Legend, I started a career with a super heavyweight and was able to get looked at or signed to at least six promotions. The only drawback is that each promotion has so many shows it can be difficult to keep up with the demand on playing time. No 12 match years with the scenario.

And again, D Boon's and Rick, thank you, you beautiful b*st*rds!

(Not sure the status of that word ;) )
