  2. You put this particular data into Wrestling Spirit 1 and keep getting that error message. Does it happen when advancing from Day 7, Week 1 to Day 1, Week 2? I just ran two weeks of simming and haven't run into anything out of the ordinary. Except for the booking... egads! Remember, there are three versions of D.O.T.T. now; one for the first Wrestling Spirit, one for TEW05, and one for Wrestling Spirit 2. I know it might be confusing to someone new, but make sure that the correct data is matched with the correct game. If you've already ensured that isn't the problem, drop me a PM - we'll work something out where you can send the problematic data to me and I'll try to see what is wrong. Sorry about the hassles!
  3. I wish I could find that information for you, Modernday - but I am unable to at present. I snagged that particular picture from the Wrestling Furnace Picture Gallery, a site devoted to British wrestling. I've poured over it and just can't seem to find out who it is. Sorry!
  4. The converter only works for files coming in from TEW'04. That game used .dat files, rather than the .tew files that TEW'05 runs on.
  5. From the read me file in the data - hopefully this makes some sense to you: Installation: 1) Place the unzipped ‘DOTT’ Folder (DOTTv3.5.zip) into your C:/Program Files/GDS/Wrestling Spirit/Data directory. You should now have Default and Territories folders in the Data directory. 2) From the Default data, copy the existing wave files from the Sound directory and place them into the ‘Territories’ Sound directory. 3) Unzip and place the Moves Pictures (Moves1.zip, Moves2.zip, and/or NewMoves.zip) into the Moves folder of your ‘Territories’ directory. 4) Unzip and place the Worker Pictures (Worker1.zip, Worker2.zip, and/or NewWorkers.zip) into the People folder of your ‘Territories’ directory. Note: Some Worker and Moves Pics are provided by Grey Dog forum member ShootTheMoon – thanks, Moon! 5) Unzip and place the Logos Pictures (Logos.zip and/or NewLogos.zip) into the Logos folder of your ‘Territories’ directory. 6) Unzip and Place the Belt Pictures (Belts.zip) into the Belts folder of your ‘Territories’ directory. Note: A great majority of the Belt pictures are provided by Troy Perry. * If you wish to use the Optional Arena Backgrounds, make sure you back-up the original pictures (lockerroom, arena_national, arena_cult, arena_local, arena_regional, and arena_small) before installing, as you may want to use these while playing the original data – located here: C:/Program Files/GDS/Wrestling Spirit/Backgrounds 7) To Install Alternate Backgrounds, Unzip the AltBackgrounds to your Wrestling Spirit Backgrounds directory (after making backups of Originals). 8) Enjoy
  6. Thanks, Cap. And I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that D.O.T.T. will be making its way onto Wrestling Spirit 2 upon release. Hopefully, those of you that enjoyed this scenario will make the jump with us and continue to support our efforts in celebrating the kayfabe period. Thanks!
  7. I corrected the first post links, but for those interested, here are the new links to the D.O.T.T. mod for Wrestling Spirit. Main Files: DOTT.zip Logos: logos.zip Belts: belts.zip People1: people1.zip People2: people2.zip People3: people3.zip People4: people4.zip Moves1: moves1.zip Moves2: moves2.zip *the wrestler profile pics come from the TEW05 DOTT scenario. As some of the name structures were changed, a few of the profile pics might need to be reassigned.
  8. Looks as if PCPages finally deleted those files. If you check back later, I'll upload the files to my server space and provide a link for them.
  9. Sorry -- someone PM'ed me for the links to this, so I am bumping it up.
  10. Heh - right. I can not remember the name of that game - Superstar Wrestling, or something like that? I ordered that game back then, as well. Ended up being horribly disappointed. I had made a game that my group of friends used to play that was a lot like Wrestling Spirit, actually - a pen and paper system that broke down wrestling movements into turns; move damage charts, strength v. weight charts for slams and such, 'desparation chances' - for when trying to save your stunned guy, even Kevin Sullivan's hypnosis - lol. I saw that SW game in the Apter mags and figured it had to have been better than the one I made. I was wrong. Not to disrespect it, as I know a ton of people have fond memories of that game. But I disliked it so much, I sent back the second set they sent to me in error. Heh. Not that I was an honest 13 year old, mind you. Anyway, about Dr. Red Fang: Supposedly, it was the game creator's dog. He created an entire character around the mutt that was his poking fun at the Sullivan devil angles in Florida - though this one, as you said, was from Transylvania. It's actually really funny, when you consider how many people have wondered exactly who was this cape wearing madman.
  11. Not sure if anyone would be interested - but I am in the process of assigning the TEW05: DOTT worker profile pics to Wrestling Spirit: DOTT. The newer pictures seem to look a lot nicer, imho, if only for the conforming aspect. I'll be uploading the results/data to my site. At the very least, I'll be able to get the stuff off of PC Pages. Thanks!
  12. I've been going through my videos and have cut 24 new Move pictures for the data. While not the highest quality pictures, considering the sources, there are quite a few pretty nice ones. Newest Move Pictures: Top Wrist Lock, Leg Ring Post, Inverted Piledriver 2 (Spinning), Camel Clutch Sleeper, Super Fallaway, Suicida (sweet Multi-Use picture), Splash Mountain, Second Rope (Multi-Use pic of HTM on 2nd rope), Grounded Punch, Collar and Elbow, Grounded Facelock, Grounded Elbow, Standing Double Arm, Figure Four Cross Leglock, (Terry Funk's) Bob and Weave Jab Flurry, Piledriver, Camel Clutch 2 (Iron Sheik on Backlund), Back Suplex 2 (for Back Drop Driver), Extended Wrist*, Short Arm Scissors*, Knee Drive Arm 3*, Measured Knee, Backslide, and Somersault Plancha. * = From a super Nick Bockwinkel v. Jumbo Tsuruta match. Newest Worker Pictures: Randy Hales, Cory Maclin, Eddie Marlin 1.75 Data; move pics assigned, 3 new workers (see above), 3 new movesets (Clive Myers, Steve Grey, and Joe Malenko), & 10 new moves Thanks!
  13. Ah, Shucks! Frankly, I'm just glad you musketeers are still enjoying this. Here is the latest data set. I haven't had the chance to get too far into testing it, but it sure starts off nice. I really dig the first week of signings - especially by the AWA; Backlund gets a new lease on things, as it should have been. And yeah, Dwight - you did inspire me to at least look into Sabu more. I happened upon about 5 matches of his not too long ago and came away greatly impressed by a couple of the bouts. At the very least, I can now make an informed opinion on the guy. While I do not grok that style of wrestling, I have so much respect for The Sheik that it is impossible for me not to appreciate Sabu - especially when Sabu breaks out the Sheik's mannerisms. It doesn't seem to happen very often - but in this one cage match against Jerry Lynn, Sabu literally became Farhat. I found that particular match wildly entertaining, heh. Take care!
  14. Thanks for the anxiousness, Ash. At least I know this 'mic is on'. My experiments in cutting shows resulted in the AI actually adding shows to compensate. As soon as that was found out, I kicked myself and mumbled about the other reason I chose the amount of shows I did 4 months ago. So... shows being cut are out. The positive to that is that I did get to balance out many of the lesser promotions - Calgary, Florida, Southwest, Pacific Northwest, etc. Tomko's All-Star has been switched to Sports Entertainment, as anyone with Lobster Man on their roster is entirely justified. I'm hoping that switching those two local feds will help them in the long run. PPW has been set to Traditional. I also lowered the Visibility of every 'house show' to Poor, as well as the television for many lesser promotions. I've also added a heaping helping of moves to better the illusion; a ton of ground strikes, a lot of limb marksmen helpers (Claw Hand Ring Post Slam, etc.) some chain moves (mucho float-overs), and the kick butt Sit-Down Running Plancha Dive (Sabu's move where he sits the groggy victim down on a chair and does his flea antics). I'm still not too sure what can be done to stem the tide of overness gain that some people are experiencing, with the exception of what was mentioned above. The bane of regional wrestlers, with this subject in mind, is that almost every territory had a roster of stars that received regular press in the wrestling magazines of the day; the Von Erichs, for example, were well known to most wrestling fans - whether you watched them or not. If I lower the regional stars to levels that offer better retarding of popularity, I essentially remove what made the territorial days great. Frankly, though - I just don't experience the 'rapid growth syndrome'. I'm currently about six months into a test Sabu career (which is a heck of a lot of fun with the new Sabu moveset, imo), and I'm still toiling in Canada. I do play under the Socko Rules, though - 1 country worked at a time, no more than 2 promotions at once (my own slant on Socko's limitations), can only apply to work promotions where your friends are employed, etc. Anyway... I should have this ready for release this weekend. Take care!
  15. That's the reason I initially gave the smaller feds a couple of shows per week. 4 shows per month, when working for someone that pays $20/night, is a killer when you need to pull in at least $500 per month to survive at the lowest level of Current Lifestyle (Paying Your Dues). Another reason for so many shows was that I was hoping to inspire people to stick with those lower feds exclusively while building their worker up. If a Player works 3-4 promotions at the same time, there's not much that can be done to slow progress. Another option, perhaps, is to lower the overness levels of regional-type workers. Considering that overness comes from beating people higher up the food chain, lowering the non-stars might allow slower progress. Then again, your wrestler might be stuck working with people like Gypsy Joe and Jules Strongbow a lot longer than anyone might want to see.
  16. A question, for those interested in the scenario: After reading the debate going on in the WreSpi section, do you feel that I should drop a lot of events for the lower promotions? GardnerFTW and teakle brought up an interesting point that the amount of shows for lower feds abnormally raises overness for the workers. I'm thinking that if I limited the smaller promotions to one show per week, it might extend careers. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks!
  17. Thanks for taking the time to pass along the kind words, chaps; its mucho appreciated. Info on Dougherty has been updated, cap; thanks for that. I've also recently been given a heaping helping of Japanese, Lucha, and other various matches. With this newest 'research' (heh), I've been tweaking out a lot of movesets. And because I've actually grown to respect the character, having finally seen the man work, I've really done a job on Sabu; new moves, reworked moveset, yadda, yadda. I'll release it for those interested as soon as I finish going through these matches, as I'd like to get as many them tightened as I can.
  18. We'll see how long it lasts, but I've uploaded the scenario files to pcpages. Several people have expressed annoyance at my sending the files through email, so I figured this would be best. v3.5 Data Belt pictures Logos Moves 1 Moves 2 People 1 People 2 And here are the latest pictures that came with v3.5: New Logos New Moves New People Again - I doubt it will last long, but it should do for now. Hope you newer guys enjoy the scenario. And thanks to all of those that have left kind remarks in that direction. I've gotten to know quite a few of you throughout the work done on this project - and for that I have to be thankful. If I could spread a bit of the love and/or history of territorial wrestling while expanding the possibilites and enjoyment of Wrestling Spirit, I consider all efforts worthwhile. Heck... just the fact that I helped inspire some of the fantastic diaries in this forum makes everything worthwhile. An honest tip-of-the-hat to every one of you that has expressed interest in the Death of the Territories scenario over the last eight months. I certainly hope each one of you enjoyed the data as much as I did making it. Kudos.
  19. I'm not sure why those .zip files aren't extracting properly, KaySeeDubya. I've got both Winzip and Winrar installed on this machine, and both programs are opening them up fine for me. I'll resend those particular files to you, though. Who knows what may have happened in sending and/or receiving them.

  21. If the last round of requests can hold off for another day (or so), DOTT v3.5 is almost ready to be released. I've been running some extensive testing and roster tweaking to get the booking within reason. For the most part, I'm happy to report, it seems to be looking pretty good. There are a couple of promotions I want to continue work on, but it is just about close to completion. Not to spout off typical hyperbole, but this version of DOTT is the best one yet (imho). Initial 'Big Name' signings by the 3 main promotions should really please old school fans. Plus, there's just something really cool about seeing Hogan take on (and defeat!) this series of opponents in the first two months of gameplay: George The Animal Steele, Big John Studd, Jesse Ventura, Paul Orndorff, Cowboy Bob Orton, Don Muraco, and Rowdy Roddy Piper. From Movesets to High Flying Moves, AI booking to New Wrestler additions, v3.5 is substantially better. Thanks for the continued interest.
  22. Files sent, guys. Thanks for the (continued) interest in the scenario. I hope you enjoy!
