  1. There is no way of the game knowing WWE splits there roster over the 2 nights… NJPW do 2 nights for wrestle kingdom and have the same roster on both.

Maybe in the next TEW it will be a feature

The best workaround for now could be to set Night 1 to be a Raw event and Night 2 to be Smackdown one (or vice versa). Wouldn't fully fit, but would stop the same titles being on both nights.

  5. I'm looking at a few of the 90s mods and thinking of booking a women's division for ECW, but I'm struggling for names for the title.

There's not a lot of hardcore women's wrestlers active in USA at the time, at least not included in the mods, so I'm guessing I'd be building the division on largely eye candy and/or brawl matches with a handful of brawlers, at least until I can start coaxing some of FMW's wrestlers to America.

Stealing from TNA and calling it the Knockouts belt is about the best I've come up with so far. Does anybody have any other ideas to help out a long-time lurker?

  6. My other big piece of advice would be to start as a small company instead of a big one. Whether it's one that already exists or one you make yourself.... at the smallest levels it is easy to do things right OR wrong and still learn something without feeling like you are struggling. The Cornellverse has several small companies that are good for that, with the main issue being finances. If you use the editor to give yourself more money you can learn so much about the game without pressure.

Hopefully this helps a bit. Big companies are hard to run because they expect and need big ratings, which requires big talents and an understanding of the engine. So use the dirt sheet, don't pressure yourself into succeeding too much and keep asking questions. We're here to help. :)

I would echo this - if you are planning to stick to real world mods, go somebody like ROH or Shimmer, give yourself like $10m in the editor and learn the game in a stress-free way. Looking at the Cornellverse, you've got small and regional companies offering a variety of wrestling styles, playing around with a few of those to learn the game is fun too.

I've got to the point where I prefer running smaller companies (with or without a large cash injection) more than I do someone larger like a WWE or USPW.

  7. I make it up as I go along, seat of the pants style. I generally play as small/regional companies, so one show a month and spend most of the month praying that nobody important to the company gets snapped up elsewhere on a written deal.

I keep my monthly shows simple - open the show with an angle setting up the main event, ie face champion thanking the crowd for being there and making them the champion they are, heel challenger steps out and calls the champion a moron for liking the idiots in the crowd. If I've got a heel champion, they'll call the locker room cowards for not having the balls to fight them, until our brave face steps out to defend the honour of the company. Old school as hell, with all the cheap pops you could ever want no matter who the champion is. I'll sprinkle promos, confrontations, etc throughout the show to either further the main event build up or set up my other title matches.

If I'm running storylines, I'll typically have two heels and two faces face off in various combinations over maybe 6 or 7 months - so half a dozen main events. The matches would often run in a sequence something like top face vs no. 2 heel, no. 2 face vs top heel (no. 2 heel kayfabe injures no. 2 face in interference), 2 heels vs top face in a handicap match while no. 2 face is "injured", tag team match once no. 2 face is healed and ending up with top face vs top heel.

Can i give them money to keep buying fighters and putting cards out ? i dont want to shut down the companies cause im using them like farm leagues i guess.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If they lose money in a month, your company will cover their monthly costs. If they make money, that'll be added to your company's finances.</p>
  9. Anyone played Sheltered yet.. Proper dark territory.

You play a family who shelter (hence the name) in a fallout bunker after the bombs drop and the world becomes a wasteland, and its your job to make them survive by any means possible it seems.

The boy met a survivor called George while scavenging in the wastes who joined us and took up the post of scout. However food was nowhere to be found and eventually George keeled over and died..

I was given 2 choices on what to do with him... Bury him or... well lets just say he tasted good with some Peri Peri sauce

I'm all about impulse buys...this sounds interesting!

It's the canadian version. What do you think ?

That's Alex Morgan, so I would assume that's the US version, not the Canadian one. I think it's a good idea though, she's the most high profile player in the womens' game.

  11. Picked up the TellTale collection today. I've played Walking Dead S1 and Wolf Among Us on PS3, but not Walking Dead S2, Borderlands and Game Of Thrones.

I thought £35 ($54) for all 5 games wasn't that bad as well as 5000 really easy Gamerscore

That's a really good deal. i bought all 5 on release at full price, I got a lot of enjoyment out of the various series and still feel I got a pretty good deal.

Well either that, or when I do catch up in a few years, Fallout 4 will be one of the first games I buy - I did that by getting Fallout 3 and Bioshock among my first purchases when I bought my 360.</p>
  13. <p>Has anyone been playing Life Is Strange? I know episodic games won't be to everyone's taste, but Dontnod is doing some interesting things with the gameplay: decisions made have an impact on how the story develops, to an extent at least.</p><p> </p><p>

Episode 3 came out yesterday and left a pretty big cliffhanger...the next six weeks or so are going to feel like a long time!</p>

  14. So I stumbled across a game on my iPad and I'm addicted, then I found out it's on steam. I have to say it's probably the stupidest waste of time I've ever found, but it's so addicting.

    It's called Adventure Capitalist.

It seems to be a free download on Steam - I'll see you peeps next week!

  15. I must admit I once had a friend who brought Avatar:the game just for the sake of letting me get 1000G in a couple of seconds. That was hilarious.

I've heard about that, but never seen that game. It sounds ridiculous though!

  16. I never got how people got obsessed with it. The fact that it's publicly visible makes me believe it's the nAch (need2achieve) coming up. For me (old-school), I see achievement tied to unlocks (think Goldeneye64 cheats or F-Zero GX unlocks).

Some people are just weird. I heard someone asking whether the 'WWE booster' can be turned off so he can unlock things himself. Why? Can't he motivate himself to play the game for the enjoyment? I must say I somehow got 'addicted' to the Raid mode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 and played till I got the awesome L100 weapons (it has RPG aspects).

I did however play x360 with some attention to achievements, but when I stopped enjoying the pursuit, I stopped the pursuit altogether. I know people who raged for hours trying to get one. Why? Because of the 'prestige'?

I am an achievement hunter on the 360, but only if I am interested in the game. I've known people buy/rent games they have no interest in, purely because it is an easy 1000GS (Hannah Montana: The Movie anyone?), but I never saw the appeal of that. I typically aim for around 50% of the gamerscore in a game, as a well balanced achievement list should allow me to hit that point by completing the game, without grinding the hell out of it.

On Steam though, I haven't really bothered with the achievements.

  17. People who think £20 is too much for a game as high quality as Prison Architect are absolutely laughable.

The internet is so obsessed with price nowadays. Unjustly so.

I've bought games at full price: some I felt were worth it, others were not. Other games I've bought on sale, and again had a mix of experiences in terms of their value. Such is life!

  18. So i've gotten back into Prison Architect recently and just received my first Legendary prisoner

Christopher Ward. Only 20 but sentenced to 94 years in jail for a combination of murders, GBH, aggravated assault, assaulting a police officer and perjury.

He was in my jail for 3 hours....

I've dipped in and out of Prison Architect for ages, but I haven't touched it in a while. I guess it's time to try it again.
