  1. I don't hate or hold any ill will toward anyone I've never met. As for my disdain for dirt sheets in and of themselves, I don't care for the I'm better than you because I knew something before it happened attitude it breeds in some people. What I mean by shamefully promote is I had never heard of Dave Meltzer before listening to 83 weeks, and conrad for the first few episodes repeatedly said he barely knows him, but would defend him to the point of sounding angry when Eric would call him scum. Fast forward several episodes Eric says I know Dave is your good friend so I won't bash him but I'm going to tell you what really happened, and conrad didn't contradict him. So to me I look at it like this, I have a friend who says he has inside information but while talking to someone who was undeniably there, I keep saying well my friend said this, after about the third or fourth time of the guy saying no what happened was x, y and z, i might stop bringingup what my friendsaid happened. I watched wrestling for entertainment and didn't need someone telling me what was going to happen or how good a match was, I was more than capable of knowing what I liked and what I thought was trash. I agree that Eric is not infallible but at least he was there. Nothing against conrad either clearly his formula works otherwise he wouldn't have multiple long running podcasts. So kudos to him. As for what else would he ask about? Well contracts and pay were mostly made public after a law suit. He watched and has the ability to re watch the shows, he could ask about things from them, several wrestlers have done unaffiliated ( by that I mean were free of contracts) shoot interviews ( I personally recommend Kevin Nash RF shoot interview ) he could pull questions from those, ratings were and are public info as well. I didn't mean to offend anyone that was meant totally tongue in cheek. If I really felt that way I would think every author was a spineless schmuck.
  2. These wouldn't be the same dirt sheets that said Mable was the third man in the NWO, would it? Sorry I couldn't resist. I gave up on 83 weeks once conrad admitted that Dave Meltzer was his good friend. Every time he said Meltzer wrote bischoff would say it was total bs 99.9% of the time. As much as I enjoyed the stories I wasn't listening to someone shamefully promote someone I'd never heard of before listening to the podcast. Because of this I modified an old saying: those who can't teach and no guts to try write about it...
  3. For the first time sine the original release of death of the territories, I've gotten into a real world mod. I've been playing as WCW, just after the nwo formed. I just stole Shawn Micheals and The Undertaker. After a whole locker room drug test Shawn went to rehab before making his debut. Undertaker was put in a feud with Hogan in the for whom the bell tolls storyline. Sting won a triple threat match for a shot at the title due to outside interference making sure it wasn't Taker or a recent NWO defect the giant. During a post match beatdown of sting, a new music hits and out walks HBK and this is how I envisioned it happening: "(HBK comes out with sunglasses and a leather jacket on, carrying a steel chair) Tony Schiavone: "Oh my god! Do you know who that is?!?" Bobby Heenan: " Of course i know who that is schiavone! Do you think I've been under a rock these last 10 years! (The nwo clears the ring as HBK enters wielding the chair. As sting gets to his feet he gets blasted by the chair. The jacket is unzipped revealing an NWO shirt. The nwo join the ring they lift Sting for a superkick as the NWO pose over a bloodied and beaten Sting to close out souled out.)" That sets up the Crow cometh storyline. And apparently the best hire I made is Raven. All the main eventers keep telling me what a great talker/worker he is and some have offered to put him over. Lastly on the bad side of things I don't think the road agent note should ever say in terms of in ring work Lex Luger carried the match.
  4. Haven't caught all the way up yet but I just want to chime in and say this: Dan Lambert; It was a stupid storyline when Impact/GFW did it and it's just as dumb in AEW. Other than this I'm loving everything the company has done so far ( only halfway through January and trying to avoid as many spoilers as possible )
  5. Maybe this is how it's intended to work, maybe it's other personality traits causing this but here's the situation: Playing WCW in a real world mod. I get notice that Shawn Micheals' contract is expiring. I win the bidding war and he signs. I run a company wide drug test (stupid on my part, but there was talent I wanted to unload.) Dealing with his results I roll the dice and send him to rehab. He becomes happy, loyal and will return drug free. The perfect Trifecta of an outcome. But then I see a morale warning on the home office. Kevin Nash is livid and no amount of bonus money has moved the needle. Why would he be so angry at my handling of an incident that his friend apparently couldn't wait to happen? At best maybe annoyed that his friend won't be joining him for a few months, but to become angry? Doesn't make sense. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

  7. Rather than start a new thread I'll ask here. Is WWF ( yes I still refuse to use the vowel) worth watching. I lose interest everytime they "bring back" the brand split. I just think it's immensely insulting when a smackdown guy shows up on raw and the announcers say " he can't do that he doesn't work here" like we're supposed to think his contract doesn't say the company name. But I digress, I started watching awhile ago and was starting to get back into it ( a long while) back when enzo & Cass teamed with Cena at a ppv. Still think there should have been a one night return of the doctor of thuganomics. Anyway is it entertaining or is it still a rotating schedule of the same 3 people constantly feuding?
  8. So I've been watching a lot of AEW. I'm almost caught up to January of this year ( I never knew it was a thing for almost the entire first year of its existence ) and I've managed to avoid most spoilers ( hint, hint.) I don't troll the internet or pay some schmuck writer to get his garbage newsletter I watch for entertainment. Before I get off on a whole separate tangent, watching the formation of the Pinnacle; when AA came out on stage and flashed that oh so recognizable hand gesture to Tully it made me wonder so I propose the following. If you could select anyone, from any promotion in the last 10-15 years in their prime in any persona to revive the Four Horsemen and have the stable be impactful who would you choose. With one caveat, you must pick of the original as an inactive JJ Dillon role ( the manager for those unfamiliar): Manager - " The Enforcer " Arn Anderson. Simple enough his promos were intense and believable. Not to mention he still looks like he can take and deliver a solid punch. Leader - The man with undeniable kavorka. The Namer of Dummies. Yeah! E-L-I Drake. His promo skills are insane. His ring work is polished. In my opinion his persona is a better Rock, than The Rock. (No question who is more successful just my opinion on character/ring work) Tag Team - I had to resist every urge to simply reunite one of my more recent favorite tag teams and slightly modify it. Robert Roode and Hangman Adam Page. ( I thoroughly enjoy James Storm character and promos but I think page has the edge.) Roode is arrogant, cocky and confident and Page is intense and physical. Muscle/Mid-card title - A bit of a dark horse I feel. But I would choose Big Cass. While not the most versatile I think he's got the size, power and intensity on the mic to round out the group. So who would you pick? Anyone else want to throw out their choices...
  9. tried posting this in another thread and haven't received a response yet hopefully someone else will see it here and can provide the answer: Not sure if this is a bug or if it's just not designed to work this way but here's the scenario I ran into. 1) I ran an angle leading to a pre-booking, 2) I booked the match presumably for the following week as it was one of the rare times I ended the show with an angle 3) Final grade for what was otherwise a stellar show was tanked because "fans were mad that promised match xx vs xx didn't happen." So is it not possible to create a pre-booking for the following weekly episode while in the show? If not is it because the show shares the same name or was this a bug?

  11. I created a child company. Hired an owner/booker. They generated a schedule and for four months in a row haven't ran a single show. What am I missing? Are they ghost shows - being ran but I can't see what happened at them? Would workers improve while there?
  12. How much money do house shows really make? I'm half way through the year and signed some of my staples Cobra and Hell's Bouncer and some new faces Storm Spillane and Marvel Malloy for tag team help. The reason for my question is all 4 of them along with seemingly half the roster are working fatigued. Should I cut a day of shows or narrow the road show route? To make things worse Malloy was injured in his third TV match, so much for the tag team help. Is there a certain stamina stat I should be looking for?
  13. I did a search and couldn't find anything with the information I was looking for. I have had this happen a few times. Playing as TCW I wanted to let some of the aging workers who I had no use for go. Rather than fire them I simply intended to siphon their popularity onto the rising talent. This of course angered them. Then when it hit 7 days remaining, the website loads up and I see that "wrestler x has renewed their contract with TCW." Oviously I didn't do that. So I then see two emails. 1) Wrestler X signed a new contract. 2) TCW CEO Kyle Rhodes has stepped in and renewed Wrestler X's contract. The first time it happened I thought maybe it was a a relationship thing, perhaps strong friendship or loyalty, but there was nothing. So why would an owner want a roster full of grumpy old men with rapidly declining popularity? Does anyone know what causes this or has anyone else come across it?
  14. It's not an exact "create-a-kliq" but you could edit the relationship of 3 or more people to give that sensation. Make them all best friends with each other. Then create the stable. Unless you were wanting this to occur organically, in which case it would have to be coded into the game. Maybe something similar to the news stories, like the tsunami that hit Japan. But instead of being set to occur at a certain time have it set to occur as an if>then. I don't know anything about the coding language used for the game and not much about code in general but having a constant loop running to check "if TCW hires Edd Stone and Matt Hocking and Ernest Youngman >then stable Reckless Youth is created" (just an example pulled from my ongoing game) seems very labor intensive, if possible at all. Would probably slow down the game for a rare occurrence. If organic creations aren't what your after then you could just edit and create. Or if you would prefer it to be a little less "controlled"; find a worker and hire some of his/her close friends. That way you don't end up picking your top guns and throwing them together. One of the many great things about this series is there aren't many things we can't do with it to make it as enjoyable as we want it to be. I agree it would be a cool thing to see pop up in the news feed. We get messages about people who say they are carrying companies or about their politics bringing others down. So why not about a couple of workers who are partying with each other and bringing their friendship in front of the camera.
