1. In general, this usually means that your security software on the new computer is blocking the game from launching. You'll need to first, make sure that you are running the game while asking for administrator permission (just logging into the administrator account doesn't automatically give the game administrator permissions when it's running). To do this right-click on the icon you use to launch the game and select "Run as Administrator" from the menu that pops up. Then go into your security software and create exceptions for both fbcb2010.exe and C:\windows\Runservice.exe (this is the eLicense service) so that they are allowed to run. After doing that you may have to reinstall the game on the new computer to put back anything the security program has removed. If that doesn't work then try this: 1. Right-click on "My Computer" 2. Select "Properties" 3. Click on the "Advanced" Tab. 4. Click on the Performance "Settings" Button 5. Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab 6. Verify that "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" is selected. If it is not, select that option and click "APPLY" and then try and run the game. Note: Even if you see that option checked already, go ahead and uncheck and then recheck it to ensure that it's activated! 7. If the problem persists, go back and select the other option "turn on DEP for all windows programs and services EXCEPT those I select" and ADD the following files: "fbpb3.exe" Normally found in C:\Program Files\GDS\Fast Break Pro Basketball "Runservice.exe" Normally found in C:\windows 9. Click APPLY then Reboot and then relaunch the game.
2. Yes, that is correct and I received each of the messages.
3. My usual computer had to be sent out for service... which took along with it the support emails for the last couple of days. If you are still awaiting a response from me, you can resend it to our support email address (support at greydogsoftware.com) or my email address (scott at greydogsoftware.com). I should be able to get back into the gmail account in the near future as well, but if you don't want to wait, feel free to resend.
4. Hey Scott I sent you a message yesterday about restarting my elicense because my last computer crashed

6. Typically this is because your license is being blocked from activating by your operating system. You need to disable your DEP (Data Execution Prevention), which can be done by: 1. If it is not, select that option and click "APPLY". Restart your machine so that the changes take effect and then try and run the game. (Note: Even if you see that option checked already, go ahead and uncheck and then recheck it to ensure that its activated!). The setting should be set to "on by default." 7. If the problem persists, go back and select the other option "turn on DEP for all windows programs and services EXCEPT those I select" and ADD the following files: "runservice.exe" (Will be found in C:\Windows) "bb2005.exe" (Found in your game folder) 8. Click APPLY then restart your machine and then relaunch the game. Please note.. the restart of your machine is important... these settings won't take effect until you restart the computer fully!
7. We have gotten word to our support emails that are there are scammers advertising fake artist jobs with Grey Dog Software. There are NO CURRENT OPENINGS with Grey Dog Software. They will use various tactics and/or different names for the contact people, but we don't use Telegram and there is no one named Benjamin Baker or Nathan Mason working for us (if you don't see their name on our website here: https://greydogsoftware.com/our-studio/ then they aren't authorized to speak on our behalf with any such job offer). As always be very careful when someone reaches out to you unsolicited and do your research on a company claiming to offer you a job. Be especially skeptical if they are offering you a position within days of an unsolicited contact and especially if there are conditions like you have to buy equipment for any such job; or remit money for "background checks" or any other purpose. When in doubt if you receive an unsolicited job offer, you should always go to the companies website and see if you can find the alleged opening advertized, and if worst comes to worse contact the company separately to verify that the offer or opening is in fact legitimate before you send them any personal details.
8. New updater uploaded here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/bpjq7rzrftvldp4/FBPB3Update3032.exe/file
9. it is worth noting that Hotmail addresses do frequently get spoofed by spammers, so it's possible that the detection will pick them up (similarly our emails will occasionally be dumped into spam by hotmail, gmail, etc)
10. I go through my spam folders constantly, so while they may be delayed, I can generally find them if they actually get delivered.
11. This is typically an issue with proxy or firewall settings. It's an eLicense specific error message here is their guidance on the matter: -3 or -4 Unusual. Indicates a problem with the data returned from the license server. This may be remedied by correct proxy settings. Sometimes it can be caused by the presence of personal firewall software on the computer. Contact us using this Support Form link. Please provide exact details on the steps leading up to the error occuring.
12. One common thing is if you have already purchased the game, if you see the eLicense screen, you should be pressing the smaller License button just below the "Buy" button. That will allow you to enter the order ID that you should've received in the email above. Also if you have had a failed transaction, most banks are going to show a hold on your account in the amount of the transaction, this hold will go away on it's own in a few business days (typically one or two; although they warn you it can take 5-7 business days). There is nothing that Grey Dog of eLicense can do about the hold, it's something that your bank does on its end, trying to reserve the money to ensure you can complete the transaction. Bank holds are the #1 cause I get for double purchase complaints.
13. In general if it's a planned computer change or you plan to reformat You simply need to unlicense the game from your old computer. To do this follow these steps on your old computer BEFORE uninstalling the game (if you’ve already uninstalled you can simply reinstall it): 1.) Go to the shortcut you use to launch the game. Right-click on it and select Properties. 2.) In the target box, at the end of the path, add a space, and then: -unlicense 3.) Hit Apply and close the box. 4.) Launch the game, this should pop up the unlicense window.
14. this should all previous updates and I would expect your on-going save to be ok. If you are concerned you can backup the FPBP3.exe file to a different folder temporarily while you verify it's all ok
15.
This typically means you are double clicking on the update .exe and not copying it into the proper location. When you double click on the .exe in the update zip; you are actually trying to run the game and since it's not with the rest of the game files, it throws an error.

The patch is just a new copy of the game executable, it must be unzipped into the main TEW2020 folder, overwriting the old one.

Typically this is C:\Program Files (x86)\GDS\TEW2020
