Update in my CWB game in 1977. It's Sunday, W1, October. We've been growing steadily most of the year. Now at 69 in NE [up from 58[ and 31 in the Tristate area [from 23]. Recently we've been running weekly shows in the Tristate, and moved our TV show from afternoon to early peak. So our rate of growth has increased. We should be heading for medium [tristate at 35] in the next 2-4 months. Financially we're solid. We've got about $2m in the bank and we're making ~$200k per month. Wild Man Sullivan is still our heavyweight champ. He's a machine. He's defended the belt against The Boston Bomber, Big Ted Munchak, 10 Punch Buck Winslow, Angus McCloud, Corporal Doom and Flapjack Flanagan in various ways and combinations. our fans just love to hate the Wild Man. The tag titles have changed hands much more often. Currently The Stomper and Bobby Linquist hold them. But most of the year they've been held by various combinations of the Britannia Wrestling Alliance, our heel stable of Brit guys. The Bomber is right up there with Wild Man as a star. Those two remain head and shoulders above everyone else and can put on brilliant matches with almost anyone. So long as one of them produces a good ME we're in good health. Behind them 10 Punch is right there, but Angus McCloud [signed in the summer] has come up fast. He just [produces regularly on the mic and the mat. Future champ potential. Behind him Corporal Doom is a really fine worker, but not quite had the real run he surely someday will. Major Kaos and General Havok have come in to support him, but frankly he was better alone. I think he'll be running a stable of lower-card guys, rather than in a top-heavy group in the future. He's still just 19, so he has glory all over his future. Identity Black is still on the roster, but I havent got much to do with him tbh. He's reliable as a UM guy, but given how key our main event is in grade terms... doe it matter? The Stomper is coming up fast. He continually outshines everyone in tag matches, and I think I'll need to give him a solo run sooner rather than later. In the lower card, Charlie Homicide has been turning heads. He's still pretty much a nobody, but hes got a big future. Absolutely loving this game!

Having a blast playing as CWB in the '77 Cverse. I've just completed about half the first year. I really like the style of booking. It's pretty simple, and I can churn out shows fast. Basically the fans are really happy so long as either Wildman Sullivan or the Boston Bomber kicks someone's ass in the main event. Unfortunately Bomber is a total tool, and has caused issues with pretty much everyone else on the roster. And Wildman's contract just came up. I don't think I can justify a fully written deal, so it's likely a matter of time until USPW nab him. We've been rising steadily in size in both New England and the Tristate area. If we keep it up we might get to Medium by the end of the year. But growing new stars has been slow work. Wildman, Bomber, Identity Black and Corporal Doom's pop have all been steady as a rock. 10 Punch & Flapjack, and The Stomper have been rising. But very slowly. RJ Danzig came in for a mini-run, but I stupidly allowed his contract to expire so he won't be back for a while. I've just put some aggressive bids in for Sam Strong/Stragavelli and a couple of others. I've got a ton of workers at the bottom of the card who are slooooowly gaining pop, but they're years away. Demon Spite/Anger [under normal names] are learning the trade. I've just bid for the debuting Captain USA. A few other really nice talents are developing fast. Loads of fun

In game terms... we dropped to medium and lost most of our TV presence. UK Broadcasting are terrible people. Jeff still thinks I'm doing a good job, but frankly I'm not. So for the rest of this year I need to keep Tommy and Adam at the top [their physical abilities are clearly declining] while getting my next tier to be able to hit 80+ matches ASAP. So Leigh, Wade and Seb need to get over the hump

Coming into May here's a quick update on some stuff going on: Tommy still holds the belt and is beset by Leigh Burton and War Machine who just won the Cornell Cup. They're going to have a triple threat match at London Calling. Which I expect to be a retention. Leading to Tommy facing both men in specialist matches. Tommy vs Leigh in an Ironman or I quit match. Tommy vs War Machine in some sort of HC/streetfight brawl. Adam Matravers is still trying to rescue his missus Phoebe from Edward Cornell. Eddy kidnapped her to try and blackmail Adam into joining his group. Which is crumbling. It's just Eddy and BW now. Because the Red menace is stalking Eddy in a classic Communist vs Capitalist idealism clash. I think I might set up an Eddy alliance with JB Cash. Some sort of money, money, money thing. Jonathan Faust and Hellbound [Gravedigger and Blackheart] are still trying to steal the soul of Wade Orson. Or Seb Koller. Or both. Not really sure how to end this one. Might have a 2 vs 3 at London Calling. Wade and Seb both need a nice, juicy feud. Roly Muckletruck is getting hounded by Apollo Prince and Brickhouse Balder. Lots of backstage ambushes and interference. Poor Roly is never sure if he'll get a savage attack [Brickhouse] or a glitterbomb [Apollo]. We're going to have Apollo vs Roly at London Calling. The Underdogs want to prove themselves as serious contenders. They're both vying to take the UK title from Bedlam. This will be another triple threat match at LC. Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu hold the tag belts. But Absolutely Flawless and the Men of Steel are hot on their tails. The Martin twins just churn out really solid matches. I think I'm going to give them the belts. They should be able to do a pro job as I develop some more heel teams to fight.

Well... The Cornell Cup was a bit of a disaster to be frank. The final was Tommy & Roly vs Leigh & War Machine. But tommy/Roly's terrible chemistry between proved insurmountable and the Main Event only rated as a 61. 🤢 In the SFs: Tommy/Roly beating Eddie and Viktor was a 71. Viktor turned face afterwards, upset at Ed's cheating and money-grabbing nature. Viktor is now the Red Menace. A soviet throwback. Leigh and War Machine beat Absolutely Flawless and graded 75. Really strong work for the Martin twins here. In fact, the Main Event was the 2nd-worst rated match of the night [Tommy & Roly beating Apollo & Brickhouse was ropy] SO basically my PPV was stunk up by the Tommy Cornell matches. Which is odd.

OK. About to run the Cornell Cup. Which wrestler turns on his partner?

Well funny you should say that... I've now got 3 proteges: Dark Angel: Beau Bolder Darin Flynn: Adam Matravers Compton Valence: Edward Cornell ___ Valence also happens to be my only Next Big Thing. I'm thinking about running a programme about this. A nod to kayfabe and internet chatter. Maybe a 3-way tag match with rookie/vet? Maybe a 'legend in each corner!" thing. Whaddya reckon?

Yeah. I could easily keep him around. But in my experience you just end up with a lower-card stuffed full of guys you like and want to develop. And someone's got to lose right? I prefer a rotating cast of all those guys I love and want to see employed and developing. Rather than some of them, with loads more I can't use. Just my preference. And I've never been good at this game even when I was in practise!
