  1. It's not canon. I just wanted to do something similar to Dragon Gate USA back on 2010, and made a thread to discuss a potential roster. http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=510592
  2. Once I finish my current run I might start again and see how the patches have affected low level companies, but in my attempts prior to my current game running multiple shows a month seemed to be the only way for the starting company to survive. I am curious if it is possible to book anywhere near 'realistically', 1 or 2 shows a month, 4 or so matches per card using different workers in each. If anyone is going along these lines I am curious to hear how it is going. Running many shows a week/month is definitely overpowered, but I can't bring myself to book a 4 man show. I couldn't ever imagine a real company doing it and being even halfway successful with it. But on how overpowered running loads of shows can be: http://i.imgur.com/vlKuU6K.png?1 Hitoshi Hori (performing under a mask as Dragon Takashi) : SHOOT - Regional Game date: January 1998 (1 year in) Best UC Match so far: vs. Human Arsenal (December 1997) - A (90) Year 1 Roll: 34. “Healing Hands” Over the holiday season you book yourself in for several massages and physio appointments. +7.5 to all Physical Condition. Could have done with a top-row stat boost, but after a long year I won't complain at being able to get my physicals back to near perfect.
  3. Good luck. And just since we are on the topic, running a ton of shows is the way to go for this challenge in my opinion. You might run yourself into a load of debt initially, but once your shows begin being profitable it is very easy to dig yourself out of the hole as long as you don't go overboard on increasing production. In addition the growth your character will see by being in so many matches/angles can make for insane skill growth. Running 3 shows a week I dug myself out of debt by September, however I had the favourable sponsorship patch for most of it. On the other hand I also had a 12-16 person roster and was using every wrestler on every show. Could probably get out of debt earlier if you use talent more efficiently. Currently running 6 shows a week to speed up my rise to cult. Got one brand working my home region 3 times a week, and a second brand working a second region. (CV 97 mod) Rip Chord was involved in a scandal and released by HGC so I am hoping I can get to cult and lock him down before any other company is interested in him again.
  4. Congrats Soxfan, any chance of a look at your characters stats?
  5. Having ran through the first 7 months of my game on the sponsorship favourable 1.05 patch, I caught up to the newest patch today. Having run myself into big debt in the first six months, and only starting to be profitable in month seven, I was worried the sponsorship drop would send me back to making a loss. However despite my sponsorship decreasing over 50%, I am in love with the new patch's reduced show costs which will are making my shows turn bigger profits now. So now its my time to dig myself out of my mountainous debt, accumulated by running far too many shows, by running another ton of shows. Don't know how the patch affects the early game struggles, but it seems like a good patch for small companies. Edit: Also running a ton of shows is quickly turning my character, and most of my young roster, into some of the youngest veterans in the world.
  6. http://i.imgur.com/MF8Ozgh.png Just had this happen in the second month of my save. Fortunately I created a backup at the end of the first month, but losing quite a few shows progress since I am running loads of shows to raise my sponsorship money. Human Arsenal is my Champion as well.

This is an event that I doubt anyone in Japan will even see. ROH may be the #3 promotion in America, but that means next to nothing these days. Even with declining attendance, Wrestling Dontaku still drew more than double ROH's average. I would be surprised if New Japan sees this as anything other than stupid gaijin promoters willing to shell out ridiculous amounts of money for men no one in America, outside hardcore smarks, even know about.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm not saying its a huge event for NJ, but its a good opportunity for exposure that I feel is being somewhat wasted. New Japan obviously want exposure in the States (They have done their own shows in the past, and now working with ROH), and I felt this could be a good opportunity to put on two huge cards to get atleast the internet talking.</p><p> </p><p> Even give us that one match that could be a new Joe/Kobashi and the excitement would be off the charts. The tickets sold out before any matches were announced, but the anticipation has cooled off completely following the announcements (and even more now with Elgin/Styles instead of Okada).</p><p> </p><p> While I feel most ROH fans are probably already familiar with New Japan, I still felt they could have converted some fans across with bigger matches, but I can't see Bennett/Tanahashi convincing anyone to check out New Japan shows.</p><p> </p><p> Its just too much New Japan protecting their guys. Its not just having big stars in matches they will (should) win, but them being soft matches. Bennett/Tanahashi and Okada/Alexander wont be classics, and seem like rest matches for those guys. And Liger, although legendary, should not be in the ROH title match. Fair enough if they didn't want Tanahashi/Nakamura losing to Cole, but someone like Naito/Goto/Suzuki couldn't do it?</p>
  9. <p>It really seems NJ don't see these shows as that big a deal. Tanahashi and now Okada in smaller matches, which I don't expect to be classics. Liger and Kushida challenging for the ROH titles instead of bigger names. Seems Nakamura is the only NJ big name that may be putting on a big match against Steen (or Cole).</p><p> </p><p> And how does Roderick Strong not get a match against someone from NJPW?</p><p> </p><p> Bizarre booking.</p>
  10. <p>New York card a lot more like what I was hoping for, however wish New Japan were willing to have a top guy lose (Unless they really shock me). Putting Liger and Kushida in the ROH title matches is a bit disappointing, I guess they didn't want Nakamura or Tanahashi to lose to Cole (or Steen if he were champion, but I doubt he will win in Toronto since Cole/Liger & Steen/Nakamura seems better than Steen/Liger & Cole/Nakamura).</p><p> </p><p> Steen could beat Nakamura, but I don't see it, and Bennett obviously wont beat Tanahashi. Would be cool if either IWGP title changed hands, but Okada is damn near untouchable, and the Briscoes would probably already be in New Japan if they were ever going to be.</p>
  11. Anyone else disappointed in the card so far for Global Wars? Guessing they are saving inter-promotional matches for the second show, but putting New Japan's big guns in tag matches is very disappointing. Cole/Steen and the 3-way tag should be good, but outside that the show is weak for what it could have been.
  12. <p>Not a single bad thing to say about that 'mania. Great show all around.</p><p> </p><p> Hoping Brock becomes a bit more regular now to capitalise off ending the streak.</p>

Ever since the announcement their stock has gone through the roof.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> While the network has probably helped, I think the biggest factor is the TV negotiations. No idea what the current expectations are, but in the past I have heard they were expecting to double (or more) their domestic TV rights.</p><p> </p><p> I am curious to see what happens to the stock price when something gets announced about their TV future.</p>
  14. I'm signed up now as well. Worth it just for the old PPV's, let alone the current ones.

If so, Okada vs. Styles plz.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Would love to see that and Cole vs. Tanahashi. Possibly a tag match on the first show with Cole/Okada vs. Styles/Tanahashi to lead into those matches.</p><p> </p><p> Will be interested to see who comes over. The video revealed:</p><p> </p><p> -Okada</p><p> -Tanahashi</p><p> -Nakamura</p><p> -Kushida</p><p> -Liger</p><p> -Jado and Gedo</p><p> </p><p> Hoping a few more are added. Would love to see Ishii have a match with Elgin. Would also like Shibata on the shows, a match with O'Reilly would be great.</p>

He's not Henry or Kane but he's well above average</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> For some reason I had it in my head Big E was taller than I have now realised he is. Would be curious to see Elgin in a WWE ring now to get a grasp on how big he looks compared to some of the roster.</p><p> </p><p> On Bryan, I have heard 5'8 in the past, although I can't remember where. Pretty sure WWE bill people 1 or 2 inches above their actual height.</p>
  21. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Teh_Showtime" data-cite="Teh_Showtime" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Elgin is a top 3 big man in the business</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Great powerhouse for sure, but hardly a big man in WWE terms.</p><p> </p><p> Got to agree on the PWG love. I would say NJPW are top right now for wrestling, but PWG are putting on the most entertaining shows right now (including great wrestling), the atmosphere and wrestling coupled with the less serious spots they do make for great shows.</p>
  22. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="bigtplaystew" data-cite="bigtplaystew" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Might not be a bad time to buy as the network will surely see that stock boom up.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Just because I feel like talking about stock.</p><p> </p><p> The market has reacted to the network already (and is continuing to do so). The stock price could continue to rise if the network does better than expected (or people think the network will do better than currently expected/or other factors such as TV deals), but the price already reflects the fact that the network will be launched.</p><p> </p><p> The stock price is the highest it has been in over ten years, and the value doubled in 2013, due to expectations surrounding bigger TV deals when they are re-negotiated. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://snag.gy/kFF5c.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> As I said the price could continue to rise, but the price definitely seems close to a peak right now. And while I feel Punk leaving could have had an effect on the price, I think some investors probably recognize the price is high right now and are cashing out.</p>
  23. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Blackman" data-cite="Blackman" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I personally don't understand why everyone is upset. Instead Batista comes back and wins the Rumble after one appearance, and now even if (although it won't happen) Bryan takes the title at EC we still get Bryan vs. Batista instead of him getting revenge on Orton. And I don't see how its going to get any sweeter, he already has whole arenas chanting for him and disrupting other matches (Both the rumble itself and the title match).</p>
  24. <p>No idea how WWE can continue to be so out of touch with their audience. Batista might drag a few more casual fans back for 'Mania, but why anger your core fan base.</p><p> </p><p> Ridiculous.</p>
