Not sure if this has been asked already, but is there any way to turn off the negotiations restrictions? Playing the real world mod as PFL and trying to sign Rousimar Palhares but apparently i'm not big enough, even though in real life he has fought for PFL (WSOF) several times and was their champion.

How can you be an MMA fan and not love Ben Askren? The guy is incredible. I love how he just mentally breaks his opponents in the middle of a fight. In no way could anyone put the blame on MacDonald, and it actually bothers me that some people are doing so! I thought Rory looked great to be honest. Maybe it's not what Dana White wants for the UFC, but i would prefer to watch one guy showcase excellent technical martial arts to win a fight rather than watch a Chris Leben type performance/fight. It may not have been the most "exciting" fight to watch, but the level of technique that Rory MacDonald displayed in the fight was fantastic. -

Anyway away from the UFC 151 saga.. Anyone see Bellator 135-pound champion Eduardo Dantas getting knocked out by Tyson Nam in Brazil. Bellator got to be kicking themselves right about now. It's one thing having your champion lose in a non-title fight in your own promotion (M'Pumbu) but to have your champion lose in an other organization has got to hurt. To make matters worse for Bellator, It looks like Tyson Nam is UFC bound. -

Please explain to me how it's Jon Jones' fault that Zuffa created an entire PPV card solely reliant on one man, or one single fight, to carry the whole event? Dana White/Lorenzo Fertitta chose to scrap the whole card, nobody forced them into anything! In the entire 11 year history of the UFC under Zuffa they have never cancelled an entire event, yet this is certainly not the first time in those 11 years that a PPV headliner has dropped out of a main event! Fair play to Dana White though.. Once again he's made a controversial decision & has deflected the blame away from himself & onto others! Charlie Brenneman & Jeff Hougland should be tweeting at Dana & Lorenzo, not Jon Jones. -

The difference is that Jon Jones was in shape & ready to go.. Machida wasn't! Lyoto was expected to meet the winner of the Jones/Hendo fight so i would imagine he has spent very little time in the gym since his fight with Bader. It's absolutely fair for Machida to want more time to get in shape & prepare for that fight. Shogun also turned down the fight before it was offered to Belfort. I keep hearing people bring this up about whether Sonnen deserved the fight or not, yet it's not even relevant in the circumstances. Jones didn't turn the fight down because he didn't feel Sonnen deserved to fight him, he just wasn't prepared to fight him on 8 days notice! He has already said he would've fought Sonnen at UFC 152 if they offered that fight to him. Personally i'm really surprised at the backlash against Jon Jones over this! Lets get it right here, Jones hasn't turned down a fight with anybody.. He's just not willing to fight a new opponent with 8 days notice. The question i ask is, why should he take the fight? Had he accepted the fight then he would've had just 3 days in Albuquerque to train for Sonnen before going to Vegas for the week of the fight, where training is normally very limited as all the work has been done in the week prior. Also lets not forget that both Greg Jackson & Mike Winklejohn (Jones' main coaches) will be in the Philippines with Andrei Arlovski for the majority of fight week ! Personally if i'm Jon Jones & i'm the #1 LHW on the planet & those are the circumstances i'm faced with.. I'm not taking that fight either! -

I see your point if directed at the Sherdog forums, but not so much the people who work for them. There radio shows are mostly very good & Jordan Breen is one of the most knowledgeable guys covering the sport. -

Lets be honest, Nobody competing in mixed martial arts, especially at this level, is scared to fight anyone! Anyone who has the balls to step into a cage/ring to fight for a living isn't scared of anybody. -

Overeem has only ever failed for roids once in his career, & it was a random test almost 2 months before UFC 146, not immediately before or after the fight. Not that it's ok for him to do it inbetween fights, but still there's no reason to suggest that Overeem would fail a test following any future fight's in the UFC. Again not that it's an excuse for him, but Overeem failed the test due to "elevated levels of testosterone" yet there's a ton of guys in the UFC, including Frank Mir, who replaced him in that fight, who are being legally allowed to elevate there testosterone levels by the same commission that busted Overeem. -

That fight was a huge let down when you consider the hype around the debut of Hector Lombard. I was definitely excited for it but it was certainly bizarre! That said, i do believe he won (albeit barely). Although i don't think either fighter comes out of that one with there stock raised. I'm surprised at the amount of people criticising the Faber/Barao fight.. That was a good fight, surprisingly one-sided but still, it wasn't bad at all. I was very annoyed at the "bullshit" chants towards the end of that fight! Extremely disrespectful! -

Well Chael's manager has said he knows nothing about the appeal. I would think if there looking for a rematch then he would know about it. -

I agree that Tito deserved that one last moment with Joe Rogan & i have no idea what Forrest was thinking. Was a little bit disrespectful but then again Tito Ortiz is the last guy who should be complaining about someone being disrespectful. I believe that was the last fight on Tito's contract with the UFC so i don't expect to see him back. I don't even think they would've giving him this fight had he not said it would be his last bout. -

Interesting! I was sure that this 'The Smashes' season would be geared towards showcasing the Australian talent, much like the USA vs. UK season was pretty much set up for the UK to win. Hopefully there's some decent fighters from both sides. Any idea on coaches? -

Wow really?? I agreed with the decision in the end but that fight was never a clear loss for Edgar in my opinion,. Extremely close fight that alot of people actually scored for Edgar! Alot of opinion's on this fight seem to be clouded by the fact that Edgar took alot of damage in the fight whilst Bendo took almost none, but that holds no bearing on the judges criteria, or at least it shouldn't be under the current rules, however whether the judges that night looked at Egdar's face & assumed he was losing is another story. But yeah that fight was very close in my book & i can't wait for the rematch, although i think Bendo will get a clear-cut decision this time around. -

I've never been one to complain about fights that are perceived to be boring / slow paced, or fights that are controlled via so called lay & pray / stalling as you have to understand & accept as an MMA fan that sometimes styles do not match up well & sometimes fighters find away to be able to do just enough to get the W whether it's exciting or not. That's all apart of the sport so i personally hate when people complain about those things when you know what your getting yourself into when you watch this sport. However last night was really the first time that i've ever felt frustrated & annoyed whilst watching MMA! I think the amount of heat Clay & his team are getting is unfair & smacks of the 'you’re only as good as your last fight' / 'what have you done for me lately?' fanbase, however last night Guida fought a terrible fight & absolutely deserved to lose that fight, even if you could make an argument that he actually didn't. Agree with you on the Condit thing. It's pretty much only hardcore Diaz fans that complained about it in the first place but yeah i thought Condit fought an excellent fight that night, & i personally love when MMA fights become so technical that it's almost like a chess match at times. Guida/Maynard had the potential to turn into that type of fight but as the fight wore on Guida resorted to just running more & more. Whilst i have no knowledge of the FX schedule in the States, i would assume that they were running from 9PM to 11PM ET & therefore also ran over. They had 3 fights go the distance, one of which being a 5 rounder, they didn't have any post-fight interviews with Stout, Ebersole or even Guida which they usually do when it's a main event, & when you add in the amount of commercials on these shows it's no wonder it ran over so there's really nobody at fault on this issue. However ESPN are running the event again tonight before UFC 147 so you will be able to catch it again if you wish to do so. -

The sad thing about the whole WMMA / UFC discussion is that Rousey/Kaufman would do better ratings on FOX than Shogun/Vera.
