  2. Miz is well underrated, and this bit with Daniel Bryan is fantastic. https://streamable.com/yvwz

I know I never watch the show live anymore because I blatantly can't digest 3 hours of what they are putting out. Is it really that many people are watching it on Hulu or is it a sign that we are on a continued downward trend?</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's a lot of factors. Streaming sites like Hulu, illegal streaming sites, DVR, a lot more options in cable channels, a holiday that involves people being out at night...</p><p> </p><p> Other than the last one, WWE goes against all those other things on a weekly basis. It's not a surprise that ratings are lower. Obviously though they do great because USA is promoting their move to Tuesday nights and going live, if they were falling hard USA wouldn't have even bothered picking up Smackdown less than a year ago, let alone be marketing this move to Tuesdays like it is a big deal.</p>

How did you manage that!? Must of been one hell of a video package, especially using mid-80s technology...</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I still love the Hogan vs Andre promo from Wrestlemania 3. It's simple and it builds hype for that match. Also, people in 1987 thought video packages made with top line tech from the time would probably think it looks great because they don't know anything better yet. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> That being said, for an opening video and pyro the rating probably is still a bit high but I am generally okay with historical mods having inflated stats. Typically I play them for the nostalgia so a lower challenge in favor of being able to build more super cards and things like that is perfectly okay in my view.</p>
  5. <p>Guys, please lighten up on tydezno, they appear to be new here (welcome to the forums!) and will learn soon enough that probably the most annoying question for a mod maker is about release dates, because obviously making the mod isn't like your job and is done in free time around the rest of your life...which we all appreciate. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Also, as a heads up Fleisch, you'll probably get that question a couple more times if you don't sneak the information that right now you're looking to get a rough draft of sorts cranked out mid-summer, especially as excited people keep posting about their excitement which makes your response harder to find. I'm personally guilty of checking the first couple post for release dates and then just checking the last couple post by the mod maker for updates on approaching that ETA.</p><p> </p><p> Anyway, Fleisch, glad to hear you're bringing this to 2016! I'm stoked for it too. I'm glad I've got a little time before this rolls out...by the time this hits hopefully I'll be ready for a change of pace from the C-Verse!</p>
  6. <p>Look, I get all the Ambrose love and I really enjoy him usually too, but am I the only one who absolutely hates his selling?</p><p> </p><p> It's really gotten to me lately watching him take the F5's from Lesnar and Pedigree from Triple H. He just lays there not really moving but just leaving his eyes open and wandering around...doesn't really look hurt just bored.</p>
  7. Wow all this hate on SummerSlam. Insane. The ending wasn't as bad as everybody is making it out to be IMO. I didn't NEED a clean ending. Taker gets the win in the books, but Lesnar gets to stay looking strong by not having the tap out noticed by the ref, and then refusing to tap out when he got locked in Takers hold. Undertaker hasn't been acting like a good guy very much during this return, so it makes perfect sense that he would steal a win while the ref and the others were trying to figure out what was happening. Lets see where this goes...the ending give us some wiggle room to keep the story going. And can we get over comparing NXT to WWE? They are different, judging them against each other is just pointless. I watched and completely enjoyed both shows, but WWE isn't stupid, they want them to be different, that was obvious in the small changes between the shows in regards to things like lights in the arena. NXT can keep its brands identity with its darker look and more work horse style. SummerSlam (and the general WWE main roster brand) was obviously designed to be more pomp, drama and glamour and there is NOTHING wrong with that. WWE strives to be a variety show, and I think they are well aware of the variety between their shows as well. That being said, if you don't think WWE is making a shift and changing tides, you're also just being blind and ignoring the good things happening. 6 matches tonight featured guys previously in NXT. Change is coming along, but you have to work it in. You can't just shove it down the vast majority of fans throats overnight. I watched both shows with my cousin who hasn't watched wrestling in a long time, but is getting back in to it. He completely enjoyed both shows and even he noted that they both had different feels to them. If I was going to rate the shows, I'd give them both an 8/10. NXT was slightly confusing to me in terms of start time. I thought it got switched to a 3 hour show with more matches? Even the last promo WWE published to YouTube led me to believe the show had an extra hour at the start. When I tuned in at the time mentioned, I was greeted with a Balor mini documentary and and then it said we had a preshow. Me and my buds just played video games through the next hour. I thought the matches they taped for a NXT tv episode were going to be on the regular show. The run over on time didn't help me in terms of confusion. Other than that, the show was fantastic for the most part on its own. A couple things that I didn't like, but overall it was great and yes, Banks vs Bayley is definitely a MOTY contender. SummerSlam was good too on its own. Amell did better than I expected, the main downfalls of the show were the double count out (but it wasn't too bad, as there were no titles on the line and it was a lower card match), the initial main event confusion, and the IC title match in general. On another note, can we talk about how amazing everybody who used the white/black/gold color scheme looked this weekend? Bayley, New Day, Rollins all looked great!
  8. Just to be clear, my response was more to the statement of your previous comment of not being able to tell the story of pro wrestling without Chris Benoit. I was trying to say that ripping out Benoit's pages isn't really comparable to Hogan's or Flair's. Benoit when compared to those two is extremely easy to remove from the story of pro wrestling.
  9. You want to compare Chris Benoit to Hogan or Flair? Let's be honest, as accomplished as Benoit was in the ring, his lasting impact in the business isn't nearly the same...Hogan and Flair were top draws in wrestling for soooo long. Benoit was considered a top guy in a company that didn't really have any competition for only a couple years.
  10. I went to Smackdown the other night. Boring show. I'd blame a dead crowd, but there was absolutely nothing to get excited about. Cesaro vs Rollins just didn't seem like they went well together. Maybe it'll come off better on TV, but the show just felt flat. That probably has a lot to do with basically every bit of fallout from Battlegrounds involves guys who only work on Monday. If you don't want Smackdown spoiled don't read any more of this post! Opening match Sheamus vs Ambrose- Sheamus wins after Ambrose is distracted by a Bray and Luke distraction. No physical interaction between Ambrose and the Wyatt family. Neville beat Adam Rose in a match that didn't last long at all. It was what you would expect from anyone going against Adam Rose at this point in terms of time. Rusev vs Kevin Owens- This was good for the action that was in it. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I like both these guys alot, but Owens walked out on a match again bringing it to a unsatisfying close. I know they can't give away all the big matches on TV, but its getting old watching Kevin Owens dip out of each match early and then lose when he doesn't. Sasha Banks and Naomi vs The Bella Twins With Paige doing Tough Enough on Tuesday, the Bellas are face for a night again...and they win. Cesaro vs Rollins- As I said before, something just felt like it was missing in this match. This should by all means be excellent and it just felt flat. Maybe since the rest of the show didn't have really good action the crowd was just bored out of it. The crowd did get excited at the end. Rollins won cleanly, but Kevin Owens who had verbally got in to it with Cesaro before this match backstage came down and laid some boots in to Cesaro. Rollins decided to come back and become best friends with Owens until Ambrose's music hit and he ran down to the ring. Ambrose with a kendo stick makes the save and Cesaro recovers. Owens runs away, and Rollins gets elbowed through a table. I think the Owens attack on Cesaro will probably be what closes Smackdown, since he kinda posed over a downed Cesaro for a while before Rollins came back. There are two matches on that show that should have been highlights of the night, instead the highlights were a Stardust promo and a verbal spar between Owens and Cesaro. Cesaro just felt like he was sinking in his promo before Owens walked in, but then he picked it up. Locally, a "Lincoln Street Fight" was advertised on the radio from what everyone was saying, but that obviously never happened. If this show comes off on TV like it did in person, this will probably be one of the worst Smackdowns in a while.
  11. My RAW summary- John Cena hates foreigners and basically pulls the MITB tactic on a challenger. WOOO Also, does what tag team you're allowed to be part of somehow involve skin color? PTP need a tag parter? Mark Henry! Naomi and Tamina need some help? Sasha!
  12. So if WWE pushed DB as hard as people want (at least people on the internet that is) wouldn't he just wind up being quotes from Batman movies? I have to imagine that people would wind up getting upset because he would always be winning, then that would be how WWE would become so predictable then. A weird situation we would potentially eventually run in to...Remember a time when John Cena was a fresh face who drew cheers from the crowd? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/DaMegaFish/hero.jpg
  13. I'm okay with Lesnar vs Reigns in all honesty. It probably won't be the best match ever, but it'll be two guys who look the part hopefully allowed to tear the house down and have a war. A big, punchy, hard hitting war. I think the WWE did everything they could to get Bryan out of the match the easiest way possible. I've seen people say he should be in the final 4. Insane. Could you imagine how much worse the boo's would have been to tease him that far in? I think they dumped him out earlier to try and let the crowd calm down and move on. Even then, they did it with Bray, someone the crowd doesn't want to boo to try and make the impact less. It was a tough spot, but I think they handled those aspects correctly. That being said, the most upsetting part of Daniel Bryan for me, by far, isn't that he isn't in the title match for Mania but more that he isn't fighting Rusev. To me, that would be the money. Bryan has already taken the title at Mania, it wouldn't be anything new to do it again. Instead, let him come back from injury against the monster who has spent basically the whole time Bryan has been away being unstoppable. Heck, with his neck surgery you could even play up the whole angle of Rusevs finisher potentially being able to put Bryan out of action again. Ooh well, as said before, we don't always get what we want.
