  1. There's no TEW 2020 review threads yet but as i looking at 411Mania's website they put up a preview for the game. https://411mania.com/games/grey-dog-software-releasing-total-extreme-wrestling-2020-this-month . The buzz is real. I've got my money stashed away for the release.
  2. Great to see ya back London. I was waffling on getting the TEW 20 but seeing that the londonverse is gonna make the jump, it's an easy buy. I'll see about adding to the thread at a later date.
  3. <p>I'm currently running CPW and i just brought in Jay Omega. Jay is fantastic and pretty cheap for what he brings in with him. </p><p> </p><p> My current run with CPW isn't anything special. I started out just working on getting Adrian Hurst a last run with the big title and that has gone really well, Hurst is way past his prime, but with good promos and a hot storyline he's been a great champ. At this point the boys Young aren't really fueding but they are continuing to fight it out to get a shot at Hurst. Doing so has given Lucas Fernion an edge as he's grown past his his Jr heavy weight belt status. </p><p> Kaz has come up enough for him to steal Fernion's Jr belt. I don't see Kaz a man eventer but he'll he a solid gatekeeper with the Jr belt around his waist.</p><p> </p><p> I brought in Jay to start a youth movement of a sorts, Jay isn't a young man but he's still got a lot of time left. He's working with Fernion and his lackeys in the Heart Breakers. So the plan is to have Fernion win the belt then feud with the Youngs.</p><p> </p><p> The Skullcrushers have been gold for me as a team, i brough in the Ripper from SJW(my personal fav promotion). I do need a Bray Wyatt to be their manager but that might come in later. They do great in meance angles as well as in the ring. As the Warpspeed Calvary and Heavy Duty are getting long in the teeth, i'm pushing Coast 2 Coast and the Heart Breakers as my future teams. I got a good note for Cassanova as a future star, so he's winning matches.</p><p> </p><p> As always there's at least one and usually more that gets lost in the shuffle. I wanted to get Fred Daniels and Julian Olsen higher up the card, but both are opening show curtain jerkers. </p><p> </p><p> It's been fun. Great characters and it's a solid WCCW/NWA feel that i dig in most of my companies that i play.</p>
  4. Name: Eva Sofya, The Northern Valkyrie Age: 25 Ethnicity: Caucasian. From Norway. Appearance:A tall well muscled woman with long blond hair. She typically wears a fur cape and a large helmet in the style of the Norse Gods. Eva is attractive and has a sharp angular face, making her appear to be serous and stern in her looks. Almost like she's judging everyone and everything, kind of arrogant. Think, Charlotte Flair. Bio: Eva grew up around a large family of athletes and entertainers. She was teased early since she was nearly 6 feet tall at the age of 15. Taking things in stride, Eva started training for power lifting and dreamed of the Olympics as her future goal. Things changed after her Aunt, who had been a woman's wrestler a decade ago showed her old tapes of herself. Eva was instantly hooked and much to her parents chagrin, started training that day to become a wrestler. Eva carries herself like a proud warrior. She cuts promos like she's the old school comics Thor, plenty of thee and thou with a few smiting slipping in. Wearing her fur cape and helmet, she's cuts quite a figure standing 6 foot 3 and wearing a serious look on her face. Finisher:Batista Bomb. Sit out power bomb. Her move set is mostly power moves, clotheslines, slams and the like, she does use a good STF and Cloverleaf when she's wearing down her opponents. Personality:In ring Eva comes across as a very intense woman. She's no non sense in the ring, lining up her opponents and knocking them down with power moves and some submissions. She rarely backs down and tries to intimidate her opponents with her phenomenal strength . Outside the ring, Eva is a very nice and eager to learn. She's constantly around other woman, taking tips and tricks to add to her style and personality. I see Eva as a heel in the ring but a face behind the scenes, she isn't jaded about the biz and her cheerful demeanor makes it hard for some of the other girls to treat her as a heel in the ring. She's tall and when she turns on the menace, she gets a great reaction from the fans. Though young at 24 she's quickly learning the ropes. She'd have good but not great star quality, great power for a woman, and solid menace.
  5. <p>The Londonverse lives. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Good to see. I've just started to play TEW again after a long break and of course i went the L-verse route, getting to book CPW. I find that CPW is a straight forward old school NWA almost WCW set up. They need new starts but i'm pushing Hurst to take the Heavy Weight Belt even if he's 9 years into decline. It's been fun to book so far. Once i hit a full year i'll do a recap in the thread. I'm no good at a full dynasty but i figure i should at least drop something to show i'm still happy with the mod. My SJW save got corrupted and i had to delete it, but i had a ton of fun with it. I put a write up in the thread. </p><p> </p><p> I'm glad there's more to come and looking forward to it. O</p>
  6. Just got back into TEW, this angle pack is great. Just what i needed.
  7. GDQ is running all this week. I find the speed running to be pretty cool. It's always a good time and worth watching people destroy your favorite game. It's running on Twitch.
  8. <p>I'm starting a Luchasuarus X game. In the first month Sky Ant breaks his hand, Blood gets a tummy bruise and Pharaoh got a minor concusion. Life is tough in the big leagues. </p><p> </p><p> My only incidents so far, being a month in, is Predator telling Supernova that he's a noob and will never get over. Hashiro Mori left me a note on my desk saying that Devin Flash doesn't have it and would be nice if he was quitely let go from the company. Flash is a bad infuenece but maybe Mori is overreacting.</p><p> </p><p> Love Lucha X.</p>
  9. <p>I've seen the world burn. </p><p> </p><p> I've been running SJW off and on for since the mod launched and it's been quite a ride. As you can imagine, running SJW is a lot of fun. As i see it, it's the old WCCW and purely a Texas style product. Plenty of Hoss' and brawls. </p><p> There's not a lot of subtle points to be made. </p><p> </p><p> Before i get into the Year of the Hoss, lets do the End of the Year 2015 awards.</p><p> </p><p> Wrestler of the year:Shou Wantanabe.</p><p> Company of the year: Honor League Grappling.</p><p> Team of the year:Azul and Senior Mexico</p><p> Match of the year: Senior Mexio vs Santanas</p><p> Show of the year: LLLL TEREMOTA</p><p> Young Wrestler of the year:Makoto Masayoshi</p><p> Veteran of the year: Senior Mexico</p><p> Female of the year: Linzie Adorn</p><p> Most improved company: CPWE</p><p> Independent wrestler of the year: C. J. Hunter</p><p> Manager of the year: Bobby Sweet</p><p> Announcer of the year: Brent Adams</p><p> Colour commentator of the year: Reyes Numez</p><p> --------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> A year of living dangerously.</p><p> </p><p> After i took over the promotion things started looking up, for a while. </p><p> I took the base roster and made a few decisions that i thought would go over. The company is a family business and pushing the Cartwrights is the way to go. The best that i had was the returning Havok and a few solid stables. You won't get a ton of Technical Masterpieces out of the guys but plenty of brawls and fiery promos. Play to your strengths they say.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Two months in Q-TV picked us up for an on demand showing, we created SJW Hard Times show for them as well as our monthly events. Hard Times being our set up show to the monthly events. They've gone well in helping guys improve and get over. The only bad spot is a few botches that have happened. Nothing overly serious other than Chubracabra working through a bad shoulder. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The lower card workers have been a blessing in that they never complain and have been getting over well with the crowds. Some have been making their way up the card and a few have been dropped into make shift teams. Dale Watson and Christopher Spratt have become the Winning Combination and they've even gotten a title shot or two. I found a few promising young guys that fit the mold for SJW. We don't need a lot of new talent but you have to grab a few younger guys when the appear.</p><p> </p><p> Tag teams are a big part of the show and we have a great set of them. Twisted Monstrosity held the belts for a few months before the American Outlaws took them, with Chubracabra taking a bad fall and tearing his shoulder the Monstrosity have been relegated to working singular or when teaming, Chubracabra has had to hold back. The Outlaws fought off all comers for 7 months and their promos focused on their dominance of the division. Even with their boasting, correct as it was, there were tough challengers in the Texas Blackhearts as well as The Devil's Duo. At the end of the year the Hillybilly Wasters won a 4 team elimination match and took the belts. It was a shocking surprise but the Wasters have been winning matches and even got a tough and bloody win over the Twisted Monstrosity. We'll see if the have what it takes to keep them.</p><p> </p><p> The upper card featured the rise of Cannibal. Destruction Inc in an of itself lost the tag belts and took a few injuries but Cannibal's rise up the ladder proved that Al Jabar was far from finished with the SJW promotion. Destruction Inc became a thorn in the side of all the midcarders and even poked their nose into the Cartwrights feuds. While they were never in the title picture they got close once or twice.</p><p> </p><p> The battle between Beau Cartwright and Jimmy Rich held most of the attention this year. The battle between Cartwright's and Texas Hold'em kept the fans watching and grabbed us some new fans as we had to change venues to make room for the fans and for the massive brawls. After a few months of battles things change with the return of Havok. Havok was content to batter a few wrestlers around but Beau make a the mistake of trying to save a beaten William Kent. This sent the big man on a collision course with the Cartwrights. This put Jimmy Rich on the back foot but he was able to pull Niel Cartwright from the family causing massive turmoil in the fold. With those distractions it wasn't long before Havok and his new partner in Destruction felled Beau and won the Heavyweight Belt. </p><p> </p><p> The end of the year found Havok punishing Beau and the rest of his brothers. The matches went from solid efforts to massive brawls that could only be contanted in a Steel Cage. The 20 minute match had everything, great brawling, weapons and Texas Hold'em being held off by the Cartwrights as well as William Kent and West Bradly. This left the two big men, Beau and Havok to fight till Beau was able to fell the giant. To the surprise of everyone in attendance, after the match Havok held out his hand and shook Beau's. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Backstage was as much of a brawl as the shows were. There were a few botches that causes some friction. We run tough shows but we've had to reprimand a few guys for being less than safe in the ring. Sadly Joshua Cartwright and i didn't get along in the least and after Neill got into a heated argument with Al Jabar that led to him attacking the manager, things got so bad that Joshua handed in his contract and quit in anger. Neil got some time off and more from me. The clan nearly kicked me out of the promotion but i calmed them and let them know that we were sucessful and if they wanted the promotion to continue, they'll have to listen and work together.</p><p> </p><p> So as things stand, we are usually 1st in our region and have steadily grown from the beginning of my tenure.</p>
  10. <p>You know there's that time when you want to run a Tag Team Tourney and then you realized every team is Heel but your Champs. Yeah, those are bad days. So had to bring in another team and while i can't turn the rest because they aren't geared for a face run, so the Tourney is off but i'm gonna work something out. If not then the American Outlaws might hold the belts for a long while. </p><p> </p><p> Oh, and the game said that Cleatus from the Hillbilly Wasters was rising and had great potential. This mod is broken. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Plans continue as poor brainwashed Neil fights his family, with Jimmy Rich laughing in the background. Havok fights Beau and should take the belt shortly as poor Beau fights back his feelings of bulling his brother into a life of heeldom. </p><p> </p><p> The American Outlaws wait for a true challenger. Either Leo Trigg and Magnum Westbank or a retooled Twisted Monstrosity once The Rippers tag partner heals up. Though i want either the Devil's Duo or Blackhearts to rise up from the hole they are in. </p><p> </p><p> On the plus side only 4 people have morale problems. Of them Edgar and Joshua Cartwright, so yeah, lets get the Main Eventers all pissed at me. It's what i do. My idea roster is 20, so i've gone up to 30. I'm so good at this booking stuff. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> It's still fun.</p>
  11. <p>A diary is a bit beyond my meager writing skills. I can update this thread from time to time. </p><p> </p><p> I'm a fan of CPW as i've done some of the bio work for that promotion. CPW is very old NWA for me, a lot of old guys that don't want to move on to give their spots to the younger guys. Mainly because they aren't quite ready to move up. So you end up pushing guys you'd really like to have as gatekeepers.</p><p> </p><p> I've started a WCW run but i'm gonna restart it to get a better feel for the ladies promotion. I'm a huge fan of Joshi and it's one of my faves that London put in. It's what kept me excited as the mod progressed. I might give that a run as well.</p>
  12. <p>I hear ya. I am slowly going through my SJW shows and i'm about 6 months in after restarting a few times to get the feel of the new systems. Getting shows together and even how to get tv slots and make B shows, still a little confusing but i'm still learning and having fun.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Currently in SJW, 6 months have past since i too over and and there's been a few changes. The American Outlaws have taken the Tag Team belts from Twisted Monstrosity. After a few hard fought battles and taking the number one slot from the Dallas Blackhearts. Then win was slightly cheapen when Cubacabra got injured and took the fall. So we'll see a rematch soon. </p><p> </p><p> Then under card is doing well with only my jobbers really having any problems. Dale Watson is not happy at losing so much but he's just good at it. I gave him a tag team partner in Christopher Spratt. The Winning Combination, though they don't win much. </p><p> </p><p> My tag teams division is pretty deep. I'm look at 8 full teams, most are units. I'm sad to say that the Hillbilly Wasters aren't doing well. I had plans on them being my Godwins and at least getting a short title reign. I've used them to keep the lower card teams in wins. So far they haven;t complained and i might just let them win the belts in a 4 team elimination match just to say thank you. </p><p> </p><p> At the top of the card is Beau Carthwright. The plan was for little Neil, to turn heel and then feud with Beau. So Neil does turn but instead of having Beau as the upstanding nice guy, he's been a real jerk to his little brother. Jimmy Rich took the kid aside and they had some nice talks so while Neil did the heel turn, it's mainly because of Beau being a jerk to him in matches and making sure any loss they took, it was Neil staring up at the lights.</p><p> </p><p> So my plan now is to have Jimmy Rich protect Neil from the Cartwrights and work Neil to an upper midcard slot as he's just a midcarder right now. He'll reluctantly help Jimmy and his buddies until Nancy sets him right in a few months. I'm thinking a double turn, but it'll be Joshua going heel and Neil coming back to the fold. I will have Neil cost Beau the belt and it should have happend already but a missed booking note kept Beau with the belt when Havok should have taken it. I wanted to give Havok a short run with it as a thanks for being a badass and really spiking my ratings with his menace and solid in ring work.</p><p> </p><p> Havok gained a tag partner and i gained his replacement in Destruction. Guy is solid all around and he's following in Havok's footsteps. This is good as i'm sure Havok isn't going to be around all that long. They get to beat up jobbers and a few Cartwrights from time to time. It makes the big men happy.</p><p> </p><p> My only problem is the upper card guys. West Bradely and William Kent. I could see those guys taking the top spots but this isn't the place for them to do that. I'm trying to keep them busy and i think i'll interject one or the other into the feud with Beau and Jimmy. They should be able to lock down a few main events or at least the semi mains. </p><p> </p><p> Destruction Inc are falling slightly to the wayside and becoming my Monster Jobber Squad. Only Cannibal is getting a push as he's on my hot prospects list. I am trying to keep Twisted Monstrosity in the upper card but they are falling downward and i'm thinking of pushing either the Blackhearts or the Devi's Duo. I don't think i can go wrong with either. </p><p> </p><p> So far i'm having fun and the shows are going well. So many ways to go with SJW.</p><p> </p><p> Timber</p>
  13. <p>SJW is great. I like where you're going with the company. It seems like there's a ton of shake ups in the first few months as the other companies find their feet and move people around. Once you're settled it's game on.</p><p> </p><p> In my story lines, it's Neil, that's i'm gonna turn heel. I feel that as the black sheep he's left out a lot and being a smaller guy gets a bit bullied by his big brothers. I'm using Destruction Inc as my inbetween guys. They are the top fued with the Cartwrights while Texas Hold'em with Jimmy Rich are sniping at them from the outside. I'm going to have promos between Jimmy and Neil with Jimmy trying to sow the seeds of Neil's turn. </p><p> </p><p> I figure that i'll get and lose a lot of guys so i plan on having Destruction Inc changes it's roster often. We'll see when i have to later on as things are calm so far. I was surprised Cannibal is on my hot prospects screen so i've been giving him wins and pushing him above the other guys. The Ripper has chemistry with Edgar and Beau Cartwright, so i've got that going for me as well.</p><p> </p><p> I have Heyman E Danger as my avatar and he's got Havok as his client, i lost Miss Chase quickly. I'm doing the Brock Lesnar push for him. Havok is just menacing his way up the roster and i'm bringing in local guys for a quick beat down.</p><p> </p><p> It's fun.</p>
  14. <p>I got the game and next thing i know the mod pops. After i figured out how not to suck at adding mods to the game, I got to looking over the mod and got straight to work. </p><p> </p><p> I started with SJW, had to though XCW or DOA. The draw of booking an old school WCCW or NWA style promotion. After a few rough starts i got down to booking and ran about 2 months of shows. Got on Q-TV so the show is broadcast in Canada but no where else. The shows went ok and i'm just over Heeled at the moment. </p><p> </p><p> I did have to make a change, i put the Cartwrights on written deals because i lost the entire clan after two months to other promotions, lost my Announcers and a ton of staff. It's rough at the start.</p><p> </p><p> Having fun and loving the mod.</p>
  15. Just saw this review from 411Maina. http://411mania.com/games/total-extreme-wrestling-2016-pc-review . I'd say the guy kinda liked it.
  16. I've got to admit that i've wanted to see the Magi show but haven't gotten around to it. I'll have to check it out now. Great review as always
  17. I was looking forward to the Disgaea PC release but then i read how buggy the whole thing was from Destructiod's site. I was really bummed cause i wanted to really play it. I've heard good things about the whole series and here was my chance. I'll have to wait to see if it gets patched one day. For those who love Digimon, The new Digimon Cyber Sleuth is out. I like it and it's fun but it's not worth the $60 price tag. Get it on sale if you want it.
  18. Good, i've found some great stuff from this thread. Good to see you're not letting it go.
  19. Sounds good. I too found the scourge that is a Cold. Had to work through that and all the fun aches and pains that go with it. I'll check back and read that new review.
  20. Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is live at 3 am est. I bought it and i have to work on Friday, but then 3 days off so i'll be on it all those days. I liked what i played of GW2 and while i don't get all of it as i only started about 3 weeks ago. i'm looking forward to the expansion. They are currently on Twitch, just look up guild wars 2 on Games and you'l find the official dev's stream.
  21. I watched this off of Cruchyroll a while back. I didn't make it through the whole thing as it just wanders and wanders around with too much exposition and never seems to end. IF the show was about 12 to 15 episodes it would have been pretty good. As it stands, it's not worth it to go through the whole thing for little reward.
  22. No problem. We all know how it's easy to get burnt out on these things. The last few reviews haven't been my cup of tea but i'm always glad to find new stuff to check out if nothing else.
  23. I just picked up a Turtle Beach wireless headset, seems like a good deal. What i'm looking for is a solid and sorta cheap PC controller, what's out there for a poor poor man such as myself?
  24. I've been on the fence with this show. I've seen it on CR for a while but always skipped over it, gonna take some time and watch it.
  25. I finished watching Waiting In The Summer, and i'll have to admit that i liked it over all. From your review it seems you wanted to give it more than the Mild Recommendation, and to be honest i'd go full on for recommending it to anyone that likes rom/coms that are good. This is a good and solid show. I feel that i didn't waste my time and by the last episode i was almost certain to start yelling till the show was over. To explain, i've seen more than my fair share where the ending is just garbage and it seemed to be going that direction. The Feels were real and then it saved itself for me at the end. The whole show over all isn't too over the top with the romantic cross overs and drama, the drama is there but the show spaces it out and doesn't drag on it. With only 12 eps it's short but effective. I do think the plot was good and as you said it really doesn't matter what Ichika is, she's the lever that moves the show and gets things rolling as the others are just slowly moving forward. The ending works, sorta. I would really like to see an OVA or second season of the show just to see where things go from here. I do have to really agree that Remon is such a laugh, her sly style and FuFuFu! laugh really got to me. She's awesome. Not to spoil things but i would dig a side OVA that just focused on Remon, that would awesome. As much as i liked Ichika, i must say that i dug Kanna the most. Guess i like the tomboy girls. Kaito himself is a good MC, not an action guy but just a dude in high school. I didn't find him annoying or lame. Mio seemed to be the shy reserved girl but gets to be deeper than that. Tetsuro is the cool dude that all the ladies love and he gets some good development as well. The show was satisfying and ended well. I've watched a ton of anime like this that end either a wave of the hand or the crappy harem ending. It's nice that this is one of the exceptions and all the better for it. So a hardy go watch this from me. Thanks for the review because i'd miss this little gem. Carry on good sir.
