1. I'm going to give a modified version of this a go, created a fighter with great boxing technique, chin, toughness (etc). I did give him great takedown defense, as well as being good at scrambling/sweeping but lacking any ground control, sub defense, or wrestling. Also lacking in boxing power so fights go longer. Basically tried to make him in a way that his fights are back and forth striking affairs. First fight was a Great 3 rd UD. Curious to see how far being a technical boxing with slightly heavier than pillow hands will go.
 2.
Going to be lazy on a full write-up but started a GAMMA save and being me, had to take over XCC too, as the sort of child company to GAMMA. Basically hoping it keeps me from feeling like hoarding every half decent prospect.

The first big event was at the end of August 2002 when ALPHA-1 got busted for laundering Yakuza money, which saw a few guys cut (that I can't remember and didn't write down) and they've been pretty toothless since, even with XCC it doesn't take much to get guys to want to join/stay over ALPHA-1.

Also that month Rubenstein was supposed to have a title defense against Soldo, but he got hurt and saw Sorkin come in on short notice only to get smashed BUT Soldo then gets popped for doing recreational drugs.

In January 2003, ALPHA-1 opened a featherweight division so GAMMA also opened a featherweight division, funny how that works <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.

May 2003, Rav Kapur beats Foster in their rematch (after beating him in 0:32 the first fight). Foster made it almost 2 minutes this time! After the fight Kapur continues to my biggest PITA champ as he decides to take a break from MMA. In 2 years he's defended once, first due to a year long injury and now because of the hiatus.

2003 also had the first corner stoppage I can remember, and a Calf Slicer submission.

WVTC opened in South America, so got the deluge of South American fighters.

Napier took on Dean, lost, then like a week later started visiting Dean's gym which I thought was funny. At the end of the year Dean became toxic due to his love of prostitutes, not sure what to do with him now (thinking I'll chance it in March and see how bad the hit is) but it now explains why Napier joined his gym <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.

I have two unnamed divisions I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for what to call them. I was really trying to avoid the Super title that is in boxing a lot. My divisions would look like

Heavyweight- 226-265

Light Heavyweight- 206-225

Unnamed- 196-205

Cruiserweight- 186-195

Middleweight- 176-185

Welterweight- 166-175

Unnamed- 156-165

Lightweight- 146-155

Featherweight- 136-145

Bantamweight- 126-135

Flyweight- 116-125

For between Welter and Light, the only thing I could really think of (but kind of like) is maybe Floaterweight? Kind of like the fighters who would float between Welter and Light.

For the other I couldn't really think of anything other than mogulweight (but don't really like it). Other option would be to move LHW and HW down, and make the top division Heftyweights <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.

 4.
I swear my lighter weightclasses at GAMMA are all wonky, first had Blood winning the Welterweight title over Regueiro with a TKO, then defending against Silva. Helio won the lightweight title and beat Lermontov on a Leg Kick TKO. Now, in the COTT finale, Lobo Laguera KO'd Ziskie for the Featherweight Title (mind you, as well, Laguera was a +800 underdog).

Last still my biggest shock, I can think of, so far in 5. Ziskie had controlled Lobo pretty well for the first two rounds, then uppercut and bam! Lobo wins.

 5.
Made it to 2003 finally, if only work could stop getting in the way of play time =p.

GAMMA

Decided to ax the SHW division, moving anyone who could make HW down and cutting the rest. We also started our first TV show, GAMMA Fight night, in November as a special post-Thanksgiving thing featuring Adam White vs Buddy Garner. The success of that lead to the decision to run more shows, starting with the New Years special in January. Also COTT will redebut in January, featuring Featherweights to jump start the new GAMMA division. Ziskie and "Lobo" Laguera will serve as coaches and fight for the belt at the finale.

HEAVYWEIGHT

Foster remains the champion, beating Tim Boyer by RNC at GAMMA 59 in front of the home town crowd. He'll be facing George Pickering at GAMMA 64 for likely another win, but I felt like Pickering deserved a shot being the former SHW champion. Souleymane Ya Konan sits at #6 with 2 wins so far, and Sharp is rebounding his career with 2 wins against carefully picked opponents. Ekberg and Rimando are going to co-main a Fight Night despite being unranked after their war of words hit Nuclear heat.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

Rubenstein made his first title defense in July, knocking LeToussier out with a knee at GAMMA 56. Following which Rubenstein decided to go on hiatus (thanks, buddy!). Which lead to Marlon John vs Fantoni fight at 61 for the Interim title. Fantoni got the win with a 1st round armbar and I took a -12 credibility hit for letting him fight for the title but what can you do =p. De Vries finally got a win, beating Strange, and jumped to #7. Slowly working William Harrison up, and was trying to move Sorkin up before he got popped for drugs in November after beating Pedro Sousa.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

It's the Dean show as usual, having beat Mizwar at GAMMA 58 by TKO. He'll get Moura in a rematch at GAMMA 63. Adam White is working on making his case for being my Garner, so far beating Garner and Ballard but dropping to Dean. Darling got popped for drugs in June, because he also hates me. Everyone else either hasn't more than 1 fight in 2002, or is deathly afraid of win streaks. Oh and Garner is 0-2 losing to White and Mizwar so far.

WELTERWEIGHT

Who is this Darin Blood dude? Blood took on Regueiro in August (GAMMA 57), in the I needed someone to contend fight, and ended up winning with a 1st round TKO. He'll have his first defense against Silva at GAMMA 62 in February. Gallego has won two straight, knocking out Henson and Sipatov, with Crumb potentially next on the list. Stephens still trying to find a win, and otherwise not a lot of movement yet. Hopefully by next year some of the young guys start shining.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Helio was scheduled to make his first defense of the title at GAMMA 60, against a resurging Gleeson, but Gleeson missed weight. Instead Helio finished him with a 1st round KO in a non-title match. Keane in his rebound fight managed to somehow get manhandled and eventually beat by Bud Brockett. Trying to get Morrison built up a little bit to make one last shot at the title but he's a PITA to book. Other than Helio and Brockett it's just the slow build of some former XCC guys and younger guys.

ALPHA-1

My testing ground =p, tried seeing how running the major shows on a subscription channel would go, it works but the money is eh, so switching back to PPV in January. Outside of that, ALPHA-1 also started up their TV show, currently called ALPHA-1 TV, with the first card set for January. The plan is it'll change to ALPHA-1 Premier and be a Televised PPV basically. Warriors is also slated to run it's first card in March, which is a lesser show focused on Welterweight and below.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT

Not a lot here, Lette was going to defend on ALPHA-1 TV but he doesn't want to fight anyone so it's just trying to build up name values til we get some guys for him to fight.

HEAVYWEIGHT

It's the Fezzik show as usual, after he beat Cabal in their 3rd match, with a 1st round Kimura. Otherwise, it's not much going on here either. Most guys have had a whole 1 fight last year so working on getting some names built up. Archer will be facing Fezzik next after beating Fujimoto in June, and likely Arai will get the winner of that if he avoids defeat to Cabal.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

After winning the title in May, Asanovic made his first defense in November beating Van De Moot with a UD. He'll likely face Villar next who KO'd Soldo in their match-up in September. Elsewhere Sho Kit lost to Aldez...somehow, and trying to build some name value up for Taneyev. Going to try to get one more fight for Yamada and if he wins that, he'll likely get the winner of Asanovic/Villar.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

da Guia managed to be Endo by UD in August to take the middleweight title. He'll get Yamashita in March, probably the last shot for Yamashita. Taffarel will likely get the winner of that match, after he beat Roby by UD and has built his name value to a decent level. Fjodor managed to lose to Miyazaki, putting him at 0-2 with ALPHA-1 so far.

WELTERWEIGHT

Noach got hurt like 2 days before his title fight, leading to a stinker of a card and moving his fight against Funaki back. Now Funaki will face Tan in February to crown the interim champion. Nothing else exciting to talk about, so we won't =p.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Sukarno knocked out Hamacho to defend the lightweight title, and will face Atep in April in their rematch (after Atep beat Ong Ka Ting). Go Yamamoto is back and will likely face Hamacho in March on the first Warriors card. Anzai is slowly climbing with 2 wins so far, and sits at #7. Plan is to have either Go Yamamoto or Fumiaki Hayashi take on the winner or Atep/Sukarno.

FEATHERWEIGHT

A Champion has been crowned! The first GP was held in December, featuring 8 featherweights vying for the title. I was expecting a Takeuchi/Ho final, buuut instead Jokichi beat up on Ho in the semi's, only managing a UD but still. While Akita won a split decision over Takeuchi, leading to a Jokichi/Akita final, with Jokichi winning by TKO. He ended up knocking out the world rank #5, beating the world rank #4 by UD, and then TKO'ing the world rank #6. Not bad, not bad at all.

In general news, TOP opened up in Russia leading to a flood of Russian fighters now. The Mexican fighter generation is slowed, mostly Super Heavyweights still popping out. Japan is now regulated as of December 2002, I was already paying for drug testing as ALPHA-1 anyways so not a big effect. Finally the awards are out:

Fighter of the Year: Hassan Fezzik

Female Fighter of the Year: Pamela O'Neill

Company of the Year: GAMMA

Rookie OTY: Gene Peck

Team: Brazilian Estrela Academy

Oh and the Akita vs Takeuchi crapfest took worst fight of the year, it was the two basically wrestling against the ropes for 3 rounds.

 6.

You've never had other companies open in either 4 or 5 before that? I'm doing a GAMMA game that I'm three years in and TOP, OMEGA, WVTC, and EMMA have all opened in my game

Not in 4, I didn't get super far in my game on 4 either granted, but farther than I have in 5 haha. The joys of randomness.

 7.
Had my first new company open up since like WMMA 3, with OMEGA opening in Mexico in June. So now my scouting with GAMMA has ballooned as the glut of Mexican fighters being created happened.

SIGMA is fun to play with, kept most of the settings the same, which quickly learned means hating wrestlers and grinders (refs don't separate, so had a couple fights that were just wrestling against the cage for 3 rounds). Can't wait to get to High Regional to stop having to fight off BCF to keep my fighters. Though it was great when they signed up Luis Basora, who in his last SIGMA match lost his title to Nouri by decision (take that BCF!). Not much else, Stian Agedestein almost beat Basora by lost by a split decision.

GAMMA going as expected, got our North America Prime deal so making decent money now. Did have Helio beat Keane for the lightweight title, which I didn't expect. Especially as the fight went the full 5 rounds. Mizwar also beat Garner (again by decision).

ALPHA-1 had Katou get TKO'd by Asanovic in the first round in their title fight, sending Katou to the hospital for the night. Van Der Moot beat Lim, another one I didn't expect, and did it by basically destroying Lim's leg with kicks to boot. Hino almost took out Jokichi but couldn't manage it and ended up getting TKO'd instead. Lette made quick work of Takaoka in their rematch, getting the TKO victory in just 41 seconds.

Lastly, in June, saw my first Kneebar submission by Ebisawa with ALPHA-1, which GAMMA and da Costa replied with a Toe Hold submission.

 8.
Started my save for the full game a few days ago, through the first two months and starting the third. So far nothing really shocking going on (especially compared to my GAMMA test save).

Took over both GAMMA and ALPHA-1, with the game idea being the two agree to leave each other alone and GAMMA focuses on the Americas and Britain while ALPHA-1 has Japan, Asia, Australia, and Russia. With the two splitting Europe (though still debating a future with SIGMA getting involved as the European company). I do allow ALPHA-1 any non-US based fighters with the Savage Stomps and Kicks attribute.

GAMMA

Not many changes here, foot stomps are outlawed but otherwise everything stays the same. Working on eventually disbanding the super heavyweight division but will be awhile. Card wise had GAMMA 50 and 51, sticking with just PPV cards for now.

GAMMA 50 had the rematch of Watson vs Rubenstein, with Rubenstein winning from a 2nd round TKO. Rest of the card played out as expected, Silva beating Kendall, White beating Ballard. Big Magic did pull and upset by TKOing Ricky Heath. Had my first Majority Decision, and a technical submission as well.

GAMMA 51 was another rematch, this one being Regueiro vs Brubaker, with Regueiro winning by an RNC in the 1st. Nothing else exciting, Boyer beat up on Tank, Dreck got a submission win from the bottom, Drew Jenks won by a TKO somehow, Carlos dos Santos was beating up on Franco in the prelims til he broke his hand (still won though).

Outside of that, moved to Mid National now and trying to get a deal with North America Prime Select.

ALPHA-1

Bit more changes over here. Set up a featherweight division and a women's bantamweight division. Also working on a women's featherweight division, only because I hired a few women accidentally that didn't fit in the bantamweight division. Rule wise, thought about switching to cage but decided (for now) to stick with the ring. Changed the round length to match GAMMA, and wavered again on elbow strikes but decided to outlaw them, at least for now.

ALPHA-1: Fezzik vs Sarkisian was the first card, with Fezzik unsurprisingly winning, TKOing Sark in the 1st. Arai beat Oktay in the co-main and the rest was pretty much favorites winning.

ALPHA-1: Fontes vs Endo was next, with Endo winning pretty easily with a first round TKO and calling out da Guia. Funaki TKO'd Xie Ming in the 1st, and Abe beat Akera. The card did end up having a corner stoppage after a broken jaw, followed by the next fight being stopped due to a cut (both on the main card) so yeah, imagine the crowd loved that.

ALPHA-1 also hit Mid National, but a month before GAMMA did. Otherwise not much else to report.

Really tempted to add SIGMA into the mix, as I said earlier, and have the world split with GAMMA's roster being mainly North America and South America, SIGMA having Europe, ALPHA-1 having Japan and Asia. Possibly then giving GAMMA Australia instead of ALPHA-1, Africa can be split between all three, and ALPHA-1 gets the middle eastern fighters.

 9.

Hi all, maybe in being thicker that a jeremy kyle guest but what is a "Throwaway Show" as i notice this in the match making.
Any help for this idiot would be welcome

Got curious (as well) so did a bit of editing to get a look, apparently Throwaway shows don't gain your company any popularity but let you have a main event three sizes lower than your current popularity (in my file the company was Low International, so could have a main event that was Low National).

Didn't say if fighters will gain popularity or not from the show though.

 10. Started a GAMMA game just to test things out, see how the match engine is (and so on). First title fight saw James Foster vs Rav Kapur, with Kapur winning by knocking Foster out. Big Magic is already suspended, added a couple extra punches after a KO and got about 8 other fighters to dislike him (also dislikes himself, humorously).
 11.
Mine's nothing special, mostly ranking based with considerations made for match-up and streaks. Try to keep it striker/striker, grappler/grappler, etc. in 3 I used to mix it up more with Sprawl and Brawl vs BJJ guys and the such to really test everyone (plus it made for some fun results), but haven't felt it worked in 4 =/.

Streak wise, took that from the forums here, but try to keep it with guys coming off defeat facing each other, and people on win streaks against each other.

Show wise I only have 3 right now and being I'm playing GAMMA and ALPHA-1, have them running different set-ups to make it fun. With both the PPV is the "premier" card, with mostly ranked fighters on win streaks making up the card. GAMMA then has Fight Night which is like a mini-PPV with just 4 main card fights of mostly ranked fighters. Showcase is the lesser TV show.

ALPHA-1 runs Warriors and Shockwave as the TV shows, with Warriors being all weight classes below Welterweight and Shockwave being Super Heavy-Middleweight. Thinking of making the eventual 3rd show into being all female weight classes but haven't decided yet.
