  1. Friday Week 2, July 2020 San Juan High School Gymnasium, San Juan, Puerto Rico 300 [SELL OUT] Opening Match Tag Team Turmoil For A Future Tag Team Title Shot Long Beach Crew vs. Dead Men Walking vs. Notorious vs. The Puerto Rican Boys The opening contest of the FREEDOM Movement pit three teams that have newly joined the FCW roster against former Tag Team Champions in an elimination bout with a future shot at the Tag Team Titles on the line. The match was contested with four-way rules – one wrestler from each tag team was in the ring at a time and they could only tag their partners. It was a chaotic contest with lots of brawling in and around the ring. Notorious, most well known from their work in CZCW fit right in with the brawl-heavy style of FCW. Cali Slick stood out from the Long Beach Crew, but Aces High was pinned by Mobstar. Island Boy Apollo was able to pin Gravedigga to eliminate Dead Men Walking and then Notorious and the Puerto Rican Boys had several minutes of back and forth tag action that ended with Miguel Rivera pinning Kid San Juan to gain the victory. In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Notorious defeated Dead Men Walking, Long Beach Crew and The Puerto Rican Boys in 18:24; the order of elimination was Long Beach Crew first, then Dead Men Walking, and finally The Puerto Rican Boys. (44) Singles Match Mr. Lucha III vs. "The Triple Threat" Davis Wayne Newton Mr. Lucha III was announced as the newest signing of FCW and there was some attempted fanfare in his entrance. Lucha III’s uncle, Manuel Prieto had several big matches in Puerto Rico in the late 90’s against Puerto Rican Power and it’s clear that there is hope that they can recapture some of that popularity with the sensational luchador. His opponent, the newly minted King of the Caribbean, Davis Wayne Newton. Newton has had a fire lit under him recently – perhaps from the trust to win the inaugural tournament has reinvigorated him. Newton and Lucha had an incredible match, including Lucha hitting a plancha on Newton when Newton was on the stage (the highschool gym also doubles as the high school theater). Newton suplexed Lucha from the stage to the wooden floor and the people really started to come unglued. It was clear that these two men have excellent chemistry with one another, it really felt like they were made to be opponents. After twelve minutes of great action, DWN hit Lucha with his trademarked Fisherman’s Suplex and kept the bridge to get another big win. In a bout that had superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Mr. Lucha III in 12:31 by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex. (55) Semi Main Event Singles Match Ox Mastadon vs. Xavi Ferrera © w/ Clare South Xavi Ferrera is in the midst of an incredible run as People’s Champion. The former stand out track and field star has really come into his own as a worker and his work in House of Handsome has been rewarded with this People’s Championship reign. The big Ox Mastadon is always reliable and as the protégé of Dread he knows how to use his size to his advantage. Ox controlled the bulk of the match, using his size to pummel Xavi with heavy forearms, big slams, and even a series of corner avalanches that Xavi sold like his ribs were cracking from the impact. With some assistance from Clare South, who has really flourished as the valet to House Handsome. She narrowly avoided being knocked off the apron by Ox, but the distraction allowed Xavi to chop the big man down. Xavi’s offense was short and quick and when he hit his beautiful Frog Splash, he got the win and got out of dodge before Ox could inact some post-match revenge. In a bout that had decent wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Xavi Ferrera defeated Ox Mastadon in 11:55 by pinfall with a High Impact Frog Splash. Xavi Ferrera makes defence number 5 of the FCW People’s Championship. [38] Main Event Five on Five War Games Mutant, Kip Keenan, Bradford Peverell, Marco Gonalzez, Carlos Gonzales vs. House Handsome w/ Clare South The main event of the evening was a big contest with massive implications for the shape of FCW. On one side of the ring, five of the six members of House Handsome who have seen their monopoly on the titles of FCW end as Mutant took the Puerto Rican Championship from Handsome Stranger and Relentless lost the Tag Titles to the Gonzalez Family. Frederique left and now Handsome Stranger and his legion find themselves trying to get power back, while the Mutant-led side has been looking to completely dismantle House Handsome. Kip and Rob Reynolds started the match and House Handsome had the advantage. The match was very bloody with all ten men bleeding by the end of it. The crowd was really into it as they called for Mutant to take care of Handsome Stranger once in for all, but in the end, Handsome Stranger locked in a Figure Four Leg Lock on Carlos Gonzalez – whose knee had previously been rammed into an exposed ring buckle several times and Gonzalez was forced to submit – allowing House Handsome to win back some prestige that they had been losing. In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, House Handsome (Handsome Stranger, Rob Reynolds, Ricochet Ramone, Dreadnought and Juggernaut Jones) defeated Kip Keenan, Mutant, Bradford Peverell, Marco Gonzalez and Carlos Gonzalez in a Cage Wars match in 48:21 when Handsome Stranger submitted Carlos Gonzalez. 2. As far as I know, no. I believe it's only stable or company borders. I suppose this question is dependent upon what kind of promotion you're running. You can do a variety of things where someone is trying to establish themselves as the face of the company and have multiple workers competition in that storyline/angle until you've established all of them and can spin off. You can bring in workers who have history within the universe and play off of that. 1. Affordability. Companies lower down the totem pole need road agents they can afford -- those road agents typically have lower psychology than others because non wrestlers are paid based off a combination of popularity but also skill (to avoid people being able to hire someone with zero popularity and 100 skill in something). 2. Assuming that you're feeding them to talent with low popularity, yes. If being squashed by established stars, it doesn't matter. It also has to do with the attributes of the person you're trying to get over. 3. I don't believe so. Check the road agent notes for the bonuses and penalties though to be sure.

  4. We can report that FCW has released King Kong Kennedy, Martyr, Cobra, Kanishoki, Curtis Shaw, and Harlem Haynes from their on going deals with FCW. We wish them continued success in their pro wrestling careers.
  5. I have been acutely aware of the value of my name for a long time. I would say I was born with it, but that would be a lie. I didn’t become aware of it until I was old enough to realize the looks my father got when we were out. I was amazed that so many people knew who my dad was. It felt like people knew him everywhere we went. Then one day he wasn’t there anymore. Just gone. I saw my mother cry and I knew something was wrong. Terribly wrong. At his funeral, so many people showed up. They told my mother they were sorry. Such a terrible loss. It was a terrible loss. I was nine. I spent years going to therapy to learn how to process my grief. When your superman dies, you have to pick up the pieces and go on. Thankfully, my Uncle Carlos was there. He stepped in to help guide me. When I had trouble in school, even though he had barely graduated high school, he did his best to help. When I need advice, he was there. He took me to the gym and showed me how to lift weights. He taught me how to build muscle mass and then how to wrestle. He took me to shows so I could be in the locker room and meet my father’s brethren. Have you ever walked into a place and known that you belong? I’m not talking about learning to belong, but that instant feeling that you are where you are supposed to be? That’s how I felt in the ring. The first time I tucked my chin and fell to the mat while throwing my arms out – I felt at home. The first time I drove my body into electrical tape and garden hose covered quarter-inch thick galvanized cables – I knew I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. I was never a great student, not in the classical sense. I was smart enough, sure, but school wasn’t for me. It was what I did to make my mom happy. I got that high school diploma, but I never had any intention of going to college. She had wanted me to go to Universidad del Sagrado Corazón or Universidad de Puerto Rico. She never wanted me to follow in my father and uncle’s footsteps. She never wanted the life of a wrestler for me. It broke my heart to break hers. The look on her face when I told her that I was going to be a pro wrestler is a look I never want to see again but I couldn’t deny what I was or who I was. It’s in my name. It’s in my blood. I am a professional wrestler. I am my father’s son. I am Marco Gonzalez.
  6. This really isn't a suggestion for TEW -- it's a suggestion for mod makers of specific mods. Adam can't control how mods do worker personalities.
  7. I mean, there is no way in game to replicate owning the video tape library. You can have the active company purchase the defunct company belts -- and really that's all you have to do for the purpose of the game. Company relationships won't do anything for this particular scenario.

  9. I wanted to let people know this diary isn't dead or even on hiatus -- it was just a busy couple of weeks for me (the lead-up to winter break is always a busy time as a teacher) and then family commitments for the holidays. I hope to have the show posted in the next couple of days now that things have settled down.

  11. FREEDOM or Death 13 Friday Week 3, May 2020 San Juan High School, San Juan, Puerto Rico 300 Fans in Attendance SELL OUT! Opening Match Singles Match "Hands of Stone" Bradford Peverell vs. “The Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton The thirteenth annual installment of FREEDOM or Death started off with a match that was clearly put together for the internet fans. Peverell and Newton have long been regarded as two incredibly talented wrestlers, both of whom have never managed to make it onto a bigger stage despite their obvious skill. The two men went out and had an absolute barn burner of a match. It featured lots of action and really got the crowd going. Throughout the match, Peverell (who has been working recently for Gateway Championship Wrestling – which is why he has been missing from the past few FCW shows) kept looking for his big punch, but Newton kept finding ways around it. Newton got to really show his technical skills and really targeted Peverell’s punching hand. While holding onto Ryan Holland, Newton mule kicked Peverell in the crotch and took him down to the mat and locked in his STF for the victory. In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Bradford Peverell in 9:40 by submission with a STF after blatantly cheating. 54 Tag Team Match The Gonzalez Family vs. Relentless (c) w/ Clare South The Tag Team Titles were second on the card. The Gonzalez family has been surging in 2020, capturing victory after victory while Relentless has done a good job of holding onto the titles despite attempts by The Latino Kings and the Puerto Rican Boys to dethrone them. This was a solid tag team affair with The Gonzalez Family starting off strong and controlling the first few minutes of the match before Relentless was able to gain the upper hand. Relentless showed real solid team work – they’ve really been developing into a fine team. Ultimately, the Gonzalez Family was able to pull out the victory when Carlos hit the Flat Out on Ricochet Ramone to get the pinfall and get the Gonzalez Family the victory. In a decent match, The Gonzalez Family defeated Relentless in 11:12 when Carlos Gonzalez pinned Ricochet Ramone with a Flat-Out. The Gonzalez Family win the FCW Tag Team titles. Marco Gonzalez was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance. 37 Flanked by Juggernaut and Dreadnought, Handsome Stranger came to the ring. Stranger had a samsonite briefcase with him. In the ring, Stranger said that it doesn’t feel right for FCW to not have Frederique in it and he blames Mutant for running Frederique out. Handsome Stranger vows to run Mutant out of FCW and that’s why he has taken ten thousand dollars of his own money and will give it to any wrestler around the world who can come to Puerto Rico and put Mutant out of wrestling, out of Puerto Rico. 49 Singles Match Kanishoki vs. Hell's Bouncer Hell’s Bouncer continues to look to rebound after his shocking loss to Ox Mastadon a few months ago. The big man had his way with the former Sumo star Kanishoki, who looked like he was really struggling to keep up through the contest. Bouncer won it with his trademark Damnation Drop. In an extremely short match, Hell's Bouncer defeated Kanishoki in 5:19 by pinfall with a Damnation Drop. 29 Singles Match Cobra vs. Xavi Ferrera (c) w/ Clare South Xavi Ferrera looked to continue his successful reign as People’s Champion against Cobra. This was another solid contest all built around allowing Xavi to show off his athleticism. Cobra is a solid hand himself and was able to feed for everything Xavi wanted to do. In the end, it was Xavi’s High Impact Frog Splash that got the victory and gave him his fourth successful title defense. In a decent match, Xavi Ferrera defeated Cobra in 11:36 by pinfall with a High Impact Frog Splash. Xavi Ferrera makes defence number four of the FCW People's Championship title. 43 Bull Wrecker comes to the ring. He’s been out of action recently with an injury but he’s back now and he’s ready to rid FCW of Ox Mastadon. There can be only one bull of the woods in FCW. Ox comes out and the two men exchange heated words back and forth before agreeing to wrestle each other next month in a loser leaves FCW match. 40 Semi Main Event Trios Match The Latino Kings vs. The Council of Decay (c) The World Six Man Championships were on the line next as OLLIE’s Council of Decay – Hijo Del Mephisto, Slayyer, and Hellspawn 666 made their FCW debut taking on the FCW mainstay Latino Kings. This was a real clash in styles as the Latino Kings – who present street fighter-esque characters who throw hands and have some wrestling ability against three consummate luchadores. The Council of Decay had a little name value from internet fans but many in the crowd weren’t really familiar with them other than they came with the World Titles so they must be a big deal. This was a physical match, a lot of brawling on the outside of the ring. Hijo Del Mephisto really shined – he was able to make it clear why he’s been a big deal in OLLIE for years, but in the end, he was hit with the Shooting Star Press from Hector Galindo and The Latino Kings won the World Six Man Championship. In a decent match, The Latino Kings (Rudy Velasquez, Hector Galindo and Jesus Chavez) defeated Hellspawn 666, Hijo Del Mephisto and Slayyer in 19:06 when Hector Galindo pinned Hijo Del Mephisto with a Shooting Star Press. Jesus Chavez and The Latino Kings win the COTT World Six Man titles. 38 Kip Keenan came out to the ring. He was fired up when he said last month was supposed to be a statement win. He survived a Texas Death Match and got the victory over Giant Brody. He should be in line for a Puerto Rican Championship shot, but instead his body still aches with the pain of being thrown from the ring through the time keeper’s table. The bruises just went away. It’s been hell. A hell that he can’t forget. He tells Brody that they have to end this, once in for all. Since the Texas Death Match didn’t do it – since that didn’t finish this – since Brody is still an animal, Kip wants Brody in a Dog Collar Match. 50 Main Event Singles Match Ash Campbell vs. Mutant (c) The main event featured PSW’s Ash Campbell (doing a favor for an old friend of his father) challenging Mutant for the Puerto Rican Championship. Since the passing of his father, Ash has been a different wrestler. A more motivated wrestler and he and Mutant really went at it. Mutant had the size advantage and controlled the beginning of the match with his size and power. Ash went to Mutant’s eyes and took control. Ash showed flashes of his father as he brawled with Mutant to the outside. Mutant sold his ass off for Ash. Ash whipped him into the barricade and Mutant hit it so hard that the portion he hit collapsed in on itself, bent and broken. Security was quick to get there to keep any fans from surging through. Ash was even able to snap suplex right onto the hardwood floor of the sold out San Juan Highschool Gym. Ash even hit a flying crossbody from the top rope to the floor. The crowd really started to get into it as Mutant made his comeback – all power spots. Ash flew around the ring for Mutant’s offense and when Mutant hit The Tina-Turner, Ash looked absolutely flattened as Mutant got his second title defense. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Mutant defeated Ash Campbell in 25:06 by pinfall with The Tina-Turner. Mutant makes defence number two of the FCW Puerto Rican title. 48 Overall 48
