He also tells Joe that he hopes Joe is going to win tonight because he want to take the belt way from Joe so that he can show that what he has said tonight is the truth. Firstly he aknowledges Smooth´s promo from earlier, saying that he has been around long enough to realize that Smooth is going to come after him again, as will everyone else ragardless how often he wins. However, Smooth isn´t top on Joe´s mind tonight as he will ahve another tough title defense in front of him against two opponents, one that he´s very familiar with and one that he haven´t faced before, and he has to beat them first before he can concentrate on Smooth. As you can see, in the end, I decided to give Cobra the push by having him go over Ramone (mainly I felt it just made the most sense since he´s the one feuding with Ramone), although I did make it via cheating mainly because it fit into storyline I was building. Other than that, I gave Joe another defense while at the same time progressed another feud by having Seth and Jolson get a title shot, perhaps not the most logical choice considering that Jolson have had three shot this year thanks to his feud with Joe but it served it´s purpose. I did compliment Ramone, Jolson and Seth this time as all three of them had higher performance than normally.</p><p> </p><p> Now lets see how the popularities look at the end of the first year:</p><p> main event: Smooth: 18, Cobra: 19, Joe: 19, </p><p> upper midcard: Jolson: 18, Queen: 18, Seth: 18 </p><p> midcard: , Mortimer: 17, Reeves: 17, Ramone: 18</p><p> lower midcard: Kid: 17</p><p> </p><p> So, Cobra gained two points and Ramone lost three? Fair enough. Everyone else stayed were they had been. I think I´m slowly getting a hang on this one, doing this after every show had really helped me as earlier I just tended to be annoyed on seemingly not getting any progress but writing these things down really seem to help me concentrate more and notice the small changes that happen (and also helped me realize that the flip side being popularity ain´t lost quickly either making the low progress easier to accept). </p><p> </p><p> Funny fact: Guess who has the best momentum out from my guys? Did you say Justice Jolson? Because he´s the right answer being the only guy with major positive momentum. Joe, Seth and Queen all have positive while Smooth, Cobra and Ramone have minor positive. Reeves has negative while Kid and Mortimer have major negative, not that it matters as they seem to be able to stay on 17 popularity regardless and have zero chance getting higher right now. As for finances, I took yet another 5 372$ loss this month.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="foolinc" data-cite="foolinc" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45829" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Mad Dog Mortimer is complaining about booking decisions? He also had than incitend with me on first show (he was late) and had his behavior worsen when I gave him a warning so he´s slighly worse backstage presence than what he would normally be (he´s not positive backstage influence anymore) He also had poor starting rating with his gimmick too which I believe affect his mood as well.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BHK1978" data-cite="BHK1978" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45829" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Of course he's going to complain, you can't job a talent such as the Mad Dog and expect him to take it.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I admit that there´s were little appeal to Mortimer to work for me as he´s not getting paid that much and all he does it put others over so he´s own career (he´s not on time decline yet so there might be few years left for him) doesn´t really benefit from this either. That said, I was thinking of ways to put Ramone somewhere in here as I kind of wanted his extra popularity elsewhere (remember he´s still classified as jobber/midcarder while being main eventer thanks to his popularity gain) but the number one contender match I had last month kind of painted me into corner as far as Joe´s next title defense was concerned (no storyline reason to add third guy or have Joe face Ramone first). I was also considering who I would want to gain Ramone´s popularity (spoilers, he´s going to donate some of that to somebody else in near future) as Smooth was the obvious choice but with him also being in FCW, I don´t think he needs the extra help. Joe or Queen would be the next most logical choice but with Joe tied to Austin and Queen not being in storyline (and thus not being a priority for a push right now) made those unlikely options as well. Oh and also those would both had been face vs. face matches and while I´m not completely against doing those, I still like to avoid them if possible. Cobra or Jolson would be the next logical options then but I´m uncertain if putting either one as my most over guy is any better than just having Ramone be on top. In the end, I decided to postpone a decision here a bit and see how that extra popularity helps Ramone. And yes, the dynamics of this save did chance surprisingly much with those two FCW signings. I did praise Queen (more because he´s unhappy than for him doing something great) Joe and Austin (again, two best rated segments in the show included them). </p><p> </p><p> Here´s how the popularities stand after my show:</p><p> main event: Smooth: 18, Joe: 19, Ramone: 21</p><p> upper midcard: Jolson: 18, Queen: 18, Seth: 18</p><p> midcard: Cobra: 17, Mortimer: 17, Reeves: 17, </p><p> lower midcard: Kid: 17</p><p> </p><p> So no gains (other than Kid and Mortimer getting back to 17) but no losses either. Mortimer complained the recent bookings after the show but that won´t change anything. Also, some contracts were close to ending with Jolson, Seth and Mortimer or being on last month of their current contracts. I resigned Jolson for 500 per show for 2 years (100$ more than before), Seth for 400$ per show for three years (was 270$ before) and Mortimer for 300$ per show for a year (was 260$ before). Next ending contracts will be Kid Fantastic during 2 months and Ramone and Reeves after three months. Everyone else has at least a year left for their current contracts. So, I will lose slighly more money than before (and that will potentially increase with the trio of contracts ending soon) but all three were reasonable demands and I made sure to grab Seth for a 3 year contract as that will hopefully be a steal in a year or two. Speaking of losing more money, we had another 5 202$ lost this month. In FCW, Ramone had another match, this time beating Mutant but it didn´t change his popularity, Smooth on the other hand, didn´t have match this time either so he´s still stuck on were he was.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

I complimented Seth, Jolson and Joe after the show, Seth and Jolson for the best grade of the show (the angle, of course, they always seem to do better than matches) and Joe for developing a new spot. Kid Fantastic complained after the show that I need to book him stronger, I guess he haven´t figured what he´s role is just yet. </p><p> </p><p> As for booking of the show, this one was mainly there to set up the next three feuds (Smooth vs. Joe, Ramone vs. Cobra and Seth vs. Jolson). The main event happened mainly since I wanted a good one and it made sense to put Austin and Queen into number one contender match after their big feud ending wins in the last show. Well, "made sense" in terms of them being booked decently strong, doesn´t really make a lot of sense to book first contender match on the first place for two of your top guys when guys like Reeves get one for free but hey, it gave me an excuse to put them against each other´s in a meaningful main event match so why not? Leaving Queen out from the feuds might be a bit of a mistake as putting Ramone in feud means I have essentially just one face jobber which might lead into problems when I need to keep the feuding guys and Queen all looking strong. I´m considering bringing two new guys in to fill the roster up a bit but on the same time, I slighly hesitant doing it while still losing 5000$ per month (4920$ this month, mainly because Ramone wasn´t used) as like I said before, I would like to keep the spirit of 0/0/0/0 alive a bit and that would mean being financically on profit or at least losing as little money as possible. Now mind you, adding new guys doesn´t instantly mean more expences as I could just leave guys out from the show to keep costs down, but top guys tend to get unhappy about that and I´d like to book as many guys into show as I can so it´s not something that I would like to do either. I do need to eventually bite the bullet on that (if nothing else, I would need new feud options at some point) but right now, I´m still on wait and see mode for the roster expansion front.</p><p> </p><p> Roster popularity:</p><p> main event: Smooth: 18, Jolson: 18, Joe: 19</p><p> upper midcard: Cobra: 17, Queen: 18, , Seth: 18</p><p> midcard: Mortimer: 16, Reeves: 17, Ramone: 17</p><p> lower midcard: Kid: 16</p><p> </p><p> Still going decently nice on popularity front, so nice in fact that I´m kind of starting to question my earlier complains. I mean sure, it´s kind of a brick wall compered to getting up to 17 popularity but it also seems that youd don´t really drop more than a point from were you stand so losses have been small as well. Then again, it remains to be seen how hard the drop is when say, Joe loses his next match which is going to happen at some point. As for gains and losses Smooth not getting a point when beating Queen was a disappointment but Queen not losing any somewhat made up for that. Seth/Jolson got one by beating Mortimer/Kid who fell a point as a result while everyone else stayed were they had been.</p><p> </p><p> Or that´s how things were afte my show, however, Ramone´s popularity actually rised to 21 after FCW show (he was in a losing effort against lower midcarder Kip Keenan), thus pushing him as the most popular guy in my roster. So it seems that Austin and Ramone being signed by FCW will certainly affect my booking on the future as their higher popularity gains in FCW mean that I can have them bleed popularity to my other guys and just trust that they are going to regain their popularity with FCW. Smooth didn´t have a match with FCW this month so he stays were he was popularity wise.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

I´m using terms "main eventer" and "midcarder" loosely here with everyone sticking around the same popularity level. Anyway, We did manage to get D- rating despite both main and semi-main event not making it past E+ rating, so dodged a bulled there. I coplimented Seth and Austin for having the best match of the night (and in fact, best match of ESE´s hirstory so far) and Jolson for his good angle (monster unleashed so it was expected but no-one else didn´t overperform either) at the start of the show. Alright, it´s time to see how the popularity points did swing after this one:</p><p> </p><p> main event: Smooth: 18, Queen: 18, Joe: 19</p><p> upper midcard: Jolson: 17, Mortimer: 17, Seth: 17</p><p> midcard: Cobra: 17, Reeves: 17, Ramone: 17</p><p> lower midcard: Kid: 17</p><p> </p><p> Not that bad actually, Seth and Jolson dropped a point but that was expected, Ramone and Queen stayed were they were and everyone else got a point. I do find it a bit funny that Ramone didn´t rise on popularity despite winning the tag match and was in fact passed by Mortimer (simply because of better fitting wrestling style, but still) who ate the pin there, which kind of underlines how much easier it is to get into that 17 popularity compered to actually trying to get past it. On finances, there was another 5 192$ loss meaning that I now lost full 50 000$ since the start of the game. On the plus side, finances are going on the right way as we had lost less money than month before four months in a row now. </p><p> </p><p> Also, between this and next show, FCW came calling (after moving up to regional) and signed both Austin Smooth and Ricochet Ramone to p.p.a deals, making them the first guys in ESE that were signed by some other company. FCW have had their roster raided twice during the year with USPW signing Kirk Jameson and Hell´s Bouncer in January and TCW getting Rudy Velasques and Davis Wayne Newton during Septemper. Jesus Chavez also walked away from the at July so I can see why they wanted new talent espesially after crowing on size and with them being in Puerto Rico, it was only a matter of time before they sign some of my guys and that could either be good or bad news depending how they are used in FCW (here´s hoping that at least Smooth would get a bit of a popularity boost working with them). </p></div><p></p><p></p>

So feuds were forwarded via angles here and pretty much everyone faces jobbers expect Joe and Cobra who faces each other´s as I wanted strong main event and title defence againt strong opponent for Joe and Mortimer or Reeves (the two heel jobber that I could happily throw under the bus) weren´t going to give me either. That said, while there weren´t many big matches here, ratings were still good, espesially main event and the first two angles so I´m happy about the results. I complimented Joe and Cobra for the main event (and Joe also had a good angle with Jolson) and Queen for dragging Mortimer into E+ match while also putting up good angle afterwards. After the show, Mortimer complained about his recent booking, which is understantably with him pushing into upper midcard before the show, but lets face the facts, it ain´t going to get better for him. </p><p> </p><p> Popularity Check after the show:</p><p> Main event: Jolson: 18, Joe: 18, Seth: 18</p><p> Upper midcard: Smooth: 17, Cobra: 16, Queen: 18</p><p> midcard: Mortimer: 16, Reeves: 16, Ramone: 17</p><p> lower Midcard: Kid: 16</p><p> So Joe and Queen gained one point from beating guys with equal popularity while Mortimer and Cobra (being on the losing side against Joe and Queen) both lost a point. Jolson is suddenly interrupted by Cobra (O´Hara tells the fans here that Cobra is Jolson´s tag partner tonight and wonders what he´s doing here?). Jolson wonders the same but Cobra takes a microphone and says that he has a plan how they can stack the deck to their favor tonight. The semi-main and main event on the other hand delivered (3rd and 4th best match during company´s history, with Seth vs. Smooth edging the tag match), as did all three of the angles so happy about the show overall. On booking side, this month´s main agenda was to give win to the three guys feuding against my top three (Jolson, Cobra and Seth) as so far I had mostly concentrated to keep Queen, Joe and Smooth strong with the being my main trio. All six on these guys sit on 17 popularity (as did Ramone, and yes, i did which to numbers in order to check) before the show, expect Joe who had 18 so they are about equals in terms of popularity. This has always been a problem for me with TEW2016, getting into 17 popularity is easy but trying to gain anyone popularity beond that has proven to be quite much harder, hopefully I do eventually figure a way to get past the barrier. Smooth was unhappy about him loss but I felt that I had to go with it anyway plus Smooth should still be pretty happy overall with me praising him after almost every show (he´d deserved every single praise but still). I complimented Cobra (I wasn´t expecting him to have the best performance rating from the main event), Joe (took a loss without complains) and Smooth (despite his complain, he turned up another D- performance and thus deserved a bit of recognition for that). They all were very happy about it, which is a clear indicator that I have praised them probably more than I should (and perhaps ignored few other guys in the progress) but my Modus operation is to praise those who do well as I feel that they deserve it most. I checked the popularity levels after the show again to see if any progress was being made and this what I found: </p><p> </p><p> Main event: Jolson 18, Joe 17, Seth 18. </p><p> Uppermidcard: Cobra: 17, Mad Dog Mortimer: 17!, Queen: 17. </p><p> Midcard: Smooth 15, Reeves 14, Ramone 17, </p><p> lower midcard: Kid 14</p><p> </p><p> Good job Zergon (yes, I´m sarcastic here <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)! My so called top three aren´t top on popularity which is kind of a sure sign that I screwed up somewhere. Sigh, well I knew this wouldn´t be easy and at least Jolson and Seth both got a point of popularity but I really need to learn how to manage popularity in this game. Smooth dropping to 15 ain´t really an issue as he´s almost certainly back to 17 after next show. Mortimer auto pushing as upper midcard guy is the main reason why I hate this log jam on 17 popularity, it just messes up my plans when a guy that supposed to challenge for the belt sits on midcard or even lower midcard simply because everyone has the same popularity and he happens to have a style that doesn´t fit for the company (yes, I know I could move them around manually but I prefer not to do so). This time I made sure to pick guys who have favorable styles, while most of the jobbers are high flyers who don´t so roster spots should stay about how I want them to be (well expect Mortimer somehow making it into uppermidcard by sucking in-ring and loosing every single match he had). I will keep closer eye to popularity going forward just to see how it goes and if I can figure out how to make any progress and since popularity levels will affect my booking I will show them at the end of every show for now on. Also if anyone want to help me here, feel free to share your wisdom with me of how you manage to work with popularity gains after hitting the E- threshold. Now, that probably won´t help me this time since I´m booking way ahead on were I post so you will hear me whining a lot about this (or just skip it, it´s kind of your choice <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) but could well make any future save easier and more enjoyable to me. So far the only way I have figured that would work is to hire someone more popular to bleed overness to others but that´s not a way I like to work in general (although I´m not above doing so if I feel it´s necessary to keep things going forward). </p><p> </p><p> Me complaining about popularity being harder to gain after certain point (not necassarely a bad thing mind you, just something I haven´t learned to handle yet) than before aside, things are going alright, I have gained 0,5% popularity with each show and thus making steady progress towards small. On finances side, I lost another 5 906$ so losses keep coming but that was expected and I do have the money after giving myself more than enough (at least I really hope so, would be kind of embarrasing to get bankrupt after cheating and giving myself million dollars extra <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />).</p></div><p></p><p></p>
  7. June 2016 Friday, week 3 ESE Eternal Storm San Juan High School (Puerto Rico) Attendance: 21 ANGLE: Show starts with Justice Jolson in the ring, stating that tonight, he will power through Regular Joe in order to become King of the Network champion and start he´s long reign as the champion. After all, he´s the biggest and most powerful man in the roster so how could anyone hope to defeat him? D- 1 vs. 1 vs. Kid Fantastic vs. Cobra In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Cobra defeated Kid Fantastic in 6:13 by submission with a Viper Vice Notes: - Performance: Kid: E-, Cobra: E+ WINNER: Cobra by submission in 6:13 E ANGLE: After his match, Cobra has few words to Queen, telling him that he was right about Cobra not being done with him as while setbacks do happen, this snake is far from dead and plans to prove that very soon. D- 1 vs. 1 vs. Quentin Queen vs. Rex Reeves In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Quentin Queen defeated Rex Reeves in 6:41 by pinfall with a Q-Ball. Notes: Queen was off his game Performance: Queen: E+, Reeves: E- WINNER: Quentin Queen by pinfall in 6:41 E 2 vs. 2 & vs. & Seth Whitehead & Ricochet Ramone vs. Austin Smooth & Mad Dog Mortimer In a decent match, Ricochet Ramone and Seth Whitehead defeated Austin Smooth and Mad Dog Mortimer in 8:29 when Seth Whitehead defeated Mad Dog Mortimer by submission with a Minnesota Stretch. Notes: - Performance: Seth: E+, Ramone: E+, Smooth: E+, Mortimer: E- WINNER: Seth Whitehead & Ricochet Ramone by submission in 8:29 E+ 1 vs. 1 for King of the Network belt vs. Regular Joe vs. Justice Jolson In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Regular Joe defeated Justice Jolson in 6:02 by pinfall with a Joe And Behold. Regular Joe makes defence number 3 of his ESE King of the Network title. Notes: - Performance: Joe: E+, Jolson: E WINNER: Regular Joe by pinfall in 6:02 E+ ANGLE: Joe doesn´ get to celebrate his victory for long as once Jolson has recovered enough and realized that he lost, he attacks Joe from behind and beats him down to mat befoe leaving, still visibly angry about the loss. D Show Rating: D- Comments: Decent show again, this time none of the matches managed to break E+ barrier, but angles were good enough to put us on D- range anyway. Before this show, I was thinking about whatever I should continue the current feuds or end Joe vs. Jolson here and have the other two end theirs next month as Joe had now beaten Jolson clean twice so there weren´t much left to prove on his part, while I wasn´t sure if I want to put Cobra and or Seth over Queen/Smooth either (since I´m still building them as my main guys) which would need to happen for those feuds to have legs to continue. In the end, I decided to continue current feuds bit longer and hence the assault angle at the end of the show, I know I could have just put Joe over via DQ to keep Jolson strong but with last title defense being draw, I think I want to give Joe clean win here and just make Jolson looks strong via post match attack and likely tag win next month to keep this feud rolling. Not much suprirses on the booking front this month, Seth got a tag win over Smooth to keep feud going while Cobra and Queen beat jobbers in order to stay strong. I praised Jolson (two good angles and decent match), Cobra (good angle and decent match) and Ramone (E+ match rating from a guy that is essentially counted as jobber). On finances, we again lost 6,321$

Smooth informs that tonight, a wrong will be righted as he have been given a King of the Network title shot against current champion Joe the Average. Oh, and there was some third nobody in there as well but he matters even less than Joe (guess he already forgot who beat him in the tournament then?) because how could anyone withstand Smooth and his perfect combination of skills, looks and power? Smooth also remembers Seth Whitehead with few words, telling him that he´s a forgiving man and despite Seth costing him his first opportunity for gold, his willing to let is slide after proving his superiority two months ago and if Seth is a wise man, he will take this out and be done with Smooth. Regardless, it´s second D- show on the row so can´t be too unhappy about it. I booked the main event in order to have a good rated match on a show were none of the three feuding pairs collided. I was first thinking about putting one of the feuding pairs in the title match instead (classic set-up that always works well) but in the end, I felt that Smooth and Queen were the more logical choises with both being on winning sides on every match expect one and even that one included interference in both cases, thus they simply had most reason to be in the title match and making it three way meant that I didn´t lose 1 vs. 1 match with Joe in case I want to feud one or the other with Joe after the current feuds end (more likely to be Smooth thanks to Queen and Joe both being faces). After that decision, rest of the booking was pretty simple, Joslin and Seth got wins in order to keep them strong while Ramone is rated bit higher that other jobbers (Kid, Mortimer and Reeves) and thus had a win in the show were half of the top guys fought against each other´s. Queen was unhappy about the finish on the main event, wanting to look stronger, but that´s not happening as he wasn´t on the losing side and I felt that there´s no reason to protect him any better than the other two. Queen´s complain that I found unreasonable also ment that I didn´t praise him after the show (which I otherwise had done as he had the best angle rating). Petty perhaps but I´m not going to complement someone for being pain to deal with, espesially when I found their request being unreasonable. So instead, I praised Joe, Seth and Smooth for being the three guys who got E+ (or better) performance rating and didn´t complain. As for finances, it was another 6,182$ lost. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="foolinc" data-cite="foolinc" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45829" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Nice show! <p> </p><p> On a side note, I've never have used the post event speeches. Queen vs. Cobra was also out best match to the date, passing Queen vs. Smooth on top 100 matches list too so impressive work there, espesially from Cobra who isn´t counted as one of the top three guys. I complimented Cobra (outperformed Queen in main event), Seth (Ok match and D- promo) and Joe (match was only ok but he was against Mortimer so not much was expected, his two angles both scored D- though and that´s nice considering Joe is likely better in matches than angles). On booking perspective, I guess putting the title match as semi-main event deserves some notes. Now I´m sure no-one weren´t surprised that I didn´t trust Mortimer to deliver good grades (even on ESE´s standards) so that one is kind of easy to explain, however it was for the main title and thus important match so I did wonder it a bit and of course I could always put someone else than Mortimer in the title match if I was scared of bad ratings. At the end, I did come up with a plan of Joe wanting to be a fighting champion and putting his belt on the line even when not required (thus giving an excuse that the match shouldn´t had been a title match and thus didn´t need to be main event). This serves two purposes, first of, there´s only so many creditable challengers for the belt at any given time and those challengers are usually ones I want to have storyline build around so that would mean that there would only be one challenger at the time and that the belt would be defended only few times during the year that being basically when ever the champ and challenger face one vs. one and since I typically like to have at least 2 - 3 shows between singles matches (might be more around 1 - 2 with roster so small) that would mean that belt would be defended around 3 - 5 times per year. On the same time, I do want the belt to be defended decently often so deciding that my champion puts the belt on line even when not required allows me to give him well... basically "fill-in" defences between the storyline ones to keep the belt more active while not having the need to rush storylines because of it. On minus side, this means that my champ cannot lose 1 vs. 1 matches at all, hence the need to sign two extra guys so I can always put my champ into tag match to eat a loss since how else I could make challenger to look good if he never wins a match against the champ? On finances side, we took another 5 841$ loss this month.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

While Ramone got signed simply because of his one shot use on last show, he was someone who I actually looked on original roster as well, partly because he had been doing well in Voeltzwagon´s AAW diary and partly because he´s in Puerto Rico so there´s no travel cost. Ramone is also familiar to me from earlier diary but he was just a jobber there and will unfortunately be likely to either have the same role or to be midcard guy at best. This is mainly do to him being cruiserweight and airial skills being less effective with my product but he gets a decent chance to at least fight for number three face spot against Seth Whitehead and will likely get some storylines going forward even though he´s more likely to be in the losing end when all is said and done. Ramone wanted 600$ per show, which is bit much but he doesn´t have travel expenses which evens it out a bit. He got a one year deal. Ramone gets to use his default gimmick as it´s different enough for the other three main faces. Also, after looking creative meeting, I found out that game actually states that Ramone is show stopper and ring general (Regular Joe being the only other one who´s on those categories) and that might well mean good things for him as I do rate ring generals highly but we have to wait and see were he´s career go with me.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="xv97ilD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xv97ilD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Rex Reeves</p><p> Age: 36</p><p> Popularity in USA: F</p><p> Heel, Evil Doer</p><p> Reeves ain´t going to be anything else than a jobber here, but he´s reasonable cheap with 400$ per show demand and while I´m certainly not hurting on cash after giving myself the million dollar bank, I still like to at least pretend that I´m on tight budjet and thus try to sign cheap guys for now. Like Ramone, Reeves got a one year deal. He gets Evil Doer gimmick mainly because that´s kind of how I see him, villanous but not a major level one and likely won´t ne in many storylines so there likely won´t be much character development for him. Reeves is also in time decline (somehow Mortimer isn´t) and considering his stats aren´t great to begin with it doesn´t promise good things. Luckily, it´s only early state and he´s not on my long term plans either so it won´t affect too much, just makes it even less likely for him to get a push (which was close to non-existent to begin with). </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p>

I had plans on bringing him into starting roster but his cruiserweight style is a bit of a bad fit for my product and that kept me from signing him originally. Other than that mishap, I was happy about the show. Lucas Danger is out from the company after wrestling waisted for the second month on the row and you won´t be seeing him again, he did improve his behavior though but that´s too little too late. I complemented Smooth (giving us the best rated match while wrestling the hazard that is Lucas), Queen (for turning a good performance in losing effort to less popular guy, I did use keep him strong note but still nice to see that he was willing to take the pin) and Whitehead (better performance than last month and decent promo with Smooth as well). On the booking side, another surprise on Queen not being on finals either (pretty sure Queen vs. Smooth would have been the expected final if I asked who you would expect to see in the finals). Reasoning being the same than with Smooth, I just feel that Queen needs a bit more time in the business before I´m happy to put a belt on him. Also, while Smooth and Queen are part of the "top three", I´d like to keep them apart from each other´s and Joe for now so hence all three of them will be feuding with member of my "second three" (or midcard guys whichever you want to call them) for now. He then continued awful night by having awful on his gimmick rating. Not the best way to start with new company but Mortimer isn´t important and can be easily replaced so not a big worry. Bigger problem was that Danger was wasted on drugs, I keep him for now (gave him a fine which didn´t result into anything) since I don´t think I have anyone else that works as cheap to replace him but I won´t tolerate that for long and that pretty much cuts any chances on him being resigned after current contract ends (assuming he even stays that long which is unlikely as I´m likely just going to cut him at next offence). We also didn´t have enough interesting storylines , mostly because I only had two, Seth vs. Smooth and the top 4 tournament guys and the tournament one actually didn´t have anything going for this show. And yes, I know I said I have three at any time and that will be true after the tournament. I actually originally made the three starting storylines I wanted and then realized that two of them wouldn´t go anywhere until like third show so decided to get the tournament out of the way first and simply made a second storyline with top 4 guys from the tournament. Unfortunately, I failed to actually progress the storyline here so that´s a mistake on my part. I complimented Smooth, Joe and Jolson after the show. Smooth and Joe got one for their good performance and Jolson is more of just thanks for working with that wasted idiot award (I would had otherwise complimented Queen instead). On the plus side, the trio of top guys (Smooth, Joe and Queen) performed well and Cobra, Joslin and Seth didn´t give any problems either so everyone actually important performed at least alright. </p><p> </p><p> As for booking perspective, I´m sure having Smooth lose on the first round raised some eyebrowns as he was probably the most likely guy to be the champ. My reasoning for that is that I´d like my champions to be slighly more seasoned veterans than what Smooth currently is and thus decided to wait a bit before pulling the trigger on him. I also normally have one feud starting in first show by one of the guys costing a tournament match for the other (either by outright winning a match or with run-in) and in this case it was Seth and Austin that got that particular storyline. Other than that little surprise, I´d assume most of the rest of the show did go about what anyone could expect with Lucas and Mad Dog losing and with Seth vs. Cobra being a bit of a toss up that was decided on the fact that I needed second heel in the semi-finals (could have been interesting to see how predictions would have gone on that one as the Smooth vs. Queen match was likely to throw some off). I did introduce Regular Joe as well here with a generic hi I´m Joe promo just to establish his gimmick and character a bit since the way I present the matches doesn´t allow much character development on that front, meaning that I need to do those in angles. </p><p> </p><p> Also, like I said in my opening post, I found out that the finances don´t quite work on my favor as I was - 5,109$ on depth after first month while sponsor money was 366$ and is estimated to be 536$ next month so... yeah, even if I cut O´Hara and Reese and have off months, I´m not going to be out from depth so I decided to go on easy mode instead and gave myself 1 000 000$ on bank. Yeah, I know, that´s way more than I need but I decided that if I´m going to cheat, I might as well give myself enough money to not to have to care about costs too much. I will still try to get as close to profit as I can so I won´t just start signing guys and spending money but this at least gives me enough so that I can have fun instead of needing to care about every penny. In future, I might decide to cut million of my cash once I´m profitable (if that will ever happen) and can affort to lose that money but not certain on that either. I did minus my lost money from first month from the million so current balance is 994 891$. Sigh, I´m not particularly happy about this but it´s better than killing this project after just one show so I take it. On the plus side, this means I can run a show every month and thus use a schedule that I´m most comfortable with.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

  19. Yeah, I kind of screwed the start as I didn´t realize how much this type of game had changed from TEW2013 and thought I could get away with the old one show a month, keep an off month when needed strategy (should really have waited for your diary to progress a bit but I was too impatient for that ). I did knew about announcer and road agent not being needed but thought I could get away from it as I was kind of tired to have to manually assign road agent on every match (done that a few times with my empty database runs) and a show without an announcer just doesn´t sound right to me. How I had managed to miss the lack of sponsor income for so long is a mystery to me but that certainly catched me offguard here. As for referee, there would had been few that could be signed for 400$ so I could had indeed safe about half of the money there too. Graveson is a great find with his locker room leader skill though and is decent enough referee too so certainly happy to have him now that money isn´t a real issue. I was also surprised by lack of really cheap wrestlers, no-one I looked wasn´t willing to work under 260$ and most demanded 400 - 500$ which I feel is bit too high for this kind of start, perhaps waiting few months for some fresh workers to appear would be better way to go in the future as I think the fact that almost everyone has at least F popularity around the USA is making the difference and foreign signings aren´t any cheaper with the travel costs adding up either.
  20. Thank you for your kind words guys, it´s good to be back. Before showing who I signed, it´s probably reasonable to tell the search criteria. Basically, I narrowed it down to to unknown guys (in USA) who are based on USA and are unemployed. Also I guess I should point out that I tend to give myself hiring restrictions on who I can sign, in this case, I decided that I can only use wrestlers based on USA that are unknown and are unemployed and this restriction will stay until I get to small. This is mainly since I like to work with slighly more shallow pool (forces me to be bit more creative with my choices) and it also makes getting my promotion up on size will feel more meaningful as it will open new hiring options for me. Now, on the downside, it does make progress a bit slower and likely escalates the popularity gain problem that I mentioned in the previous post, but this is how I like to work so I do it. I decided to take advantage on the fact that local promotions don´t have minimum number of wrestlers they need to hire (it used to be 12) and decided to start with just 8 mainly because I almost always start with the title tournament and 8 and 16 are the easiest number of starting wrestlers for that by far. Also, this hopefully means that I can make few extra signings later (assuming that the finaces allow me to do so), thus helping to keep things fresh slighly longer. Actually, I have always been interested on how other´s build their roster and while I said that this won´t be a diary where I talk about my decision progress, how about I still give you a run downon my whole decision making progress (or lack of it since it´s not that deep) on signing guys (yes, I know, second post in and I´m already chancing my mind, we are up to a promising start ). Oh well, here it is anyway: First of all, using the above criterias gave me the following guys to choose from: Annihilus, Austin Smooth, Barry Griffin, Ben Williams, Brimstone, Buck Graham, Buzz Reid, Cip Conduit, Cobra, Cowboy Buck Wincester, Crash Lewis, Desert Storm, Elijah Harris, Extreme Deluxe, Fearless Blue, Hardcore Killah, JOJI, Justice Jolson, Kid Fantastic, Lucas Danger, Mad Dog Mortimer, Mark Smart, Melvin Otto, Mercutio Sleep, Mercy Michaels, New York Red, Penfold Perdition, Quentin Queen, Ray Snow, Regular Joe, Remmy Honeyman, Rex Reeves, Richie Riggins, Ricky Turner, Ricochet Ramone, Roger Monteiro, Seth Whitehead, Steel, The Silencer, Whicky Jack and Vicky Victoria. Straight away, there´s quite a few names that jump out for me, either because of me booking them in one of my earlier games or because of me reading someone else´s diary. Austin Smooth is the first guy I look for (yes, I know, he´s kind of obvious and bit overused but there´s a reason for that too). He wanted 500$ per show which is a bit deep but he does have F+ popularity to warrant that request so I signed him instantly (3 year contract with 500$ per appearence) as my main heel. He just screams a cocky heel to me although looks like he has a new alt that doesn´t make that quite as obvious as the old one did (at least not for me). The second guy that I signed straight away is Cobra, he´s just one of those characters that I really like and he´s decent enough talent for local company to be more than a jobber and was quite cheap too with 300$ per show. I gave him two years contract and look so slot him behind Smooth as number two or three heel (depending who would get the last two heel spots). Next, I looked at few other guys that I could see being the top guys, namely Quentin Queen, Ricky Turner, Remmy Honeyman, Regular Joe and Ricochet Ramone. all of them wanted at least 600$ per show potentially making them quite expensive signings so I decided that I can´t affort more than one or two at max. Queen seems like most likely bet to become a lead star (on my opinion at least) so I gave him three year contract with the asking prize of 600$ per show. I then decided to look at if I could find some cheap jobber guys in order to try to figure out, if I can affort to drop more money on guys like Remmy or Joe (who would have good in-ring abilities but not much charisma, thus likely not making them as great fits for my product). I found out that most guys I´m interested on demand at least 300$ per show and with no idea of finances, I decided to try to keep the costs down for now and add more expensive guys later if finances allow me to do so. I first looked at Kid Fantastic but he wanted 400$ show so I passed. Lucas Danger on the other hand settled for 260$ per show so I gave him one year contract, frankly, he´s unlikely to be more than a jobber but at least he now has a place to hone his skills hopefully helping him to find work elsewhere if/when I cut him. Lucas is better as heel than face but will likely play face for me probably with some kind of underdog/fan´s own gimmick. It proved to be really hard trying to find guys willing to work for less than 400$ but I did manage to find two. First one is Mad Dog Mortimer... yeah, not a star for tomorrow that´s for sure but he make a fine heel jobber for now and is good backstage influence too. Mortimer was willing to work with 260$ per show and got a year contract. The other guy is slighly more intersting to me as Seth Whitehead was willing to work with 270$ per show so he will also get a year contract. Looking at the rest of the options, I decided to sign Justice Jolson for a year contract as he was willing to work for 400$ per show and then signed Regular Joe as my 2nd face behind Queen for 600$ per show (2 years). As for non-wrestlers, I signed Brett Graveson as my referee for 700$ show, mainly because he´s locker room leader and only referees cheaper than him weren´t very good at their jobs. As for road agent and announcer, I know they aren´t needed for local but I want to sign them anyway (likely a big mistake that I will regret later) so I signed Reese Page as road agent since she costed 700$ a show (Giant Redwood was the only other one I could find that demanded less than 1100$ but I don´t want any backstage troubles so I kept well clear from him) and Dana O´Hara as announcer (since the two cheaper options weren´t very good) for 800$ per show. Both got two year deals since I´m not sure if I want to keep them longterm or replace them once finances allow me to do so. So here´s a quick recap with who I signed and their aligment, gimmick and starting popularities: Quentin Queen Age: 22 Popularity in USA: E- Face, Blue Chipper Queen is going to be my main face going forward (or at least he gets the first chance for that) and hopefully will stay as important player while the company grows. I decided to go with the default gimmick as it worked pretty well for what I have in mind for him. Regular Joe Age: 26 Popularity in USA: F+ Face, Blue Collar Joe is by far my second most experienced guy (Mortimer being the most experienced one of course) and will be looked to fill not only number two face spot but also overall third top guy on the company and his veteran status will net him some benefits early on. However, unlike Queen and Smooth, I don´t expect Joe to stay on top and foresee on him moving more into midcard status once we grow and better talent becomes available. Still, even if he eventually fall from the main event scene, I would expect him to stay relevant midcard workhorse who can be expected to bring good match ratings as I always want few of those around. Seth Whitehead Age: 22 Popularity in USA: F Face, Bad Ass Seth is someone who I have no previous knowledge and who thus ranks behind Queen and Joe on the face side. Still, while number three face spot ain´t the greatest (after all there´s only one guy below him) it does mean he´s going to be part of storylines as I like to run three at any time meaning that top three on both face and heel side will pretty much be on the spotlight all the time and that gives Seth a chance to show his skills even if he´s more likely to be on the losing end of the feuds. I gave him a bad ass gimmick since that´s kind of what the alt scearms to me and with my top two faces being more of the Blue Collar side, it gives Seth a differend style and helps him stand out a bit. Lucas Danger Age: 21 Popularity in USA: F Face, Clubber Lucas starts with low popularity and airial skills being less great for my product doesn´t help his case. Based on his bio I would also assume that he´s not that great in-ring either (I´m playing with fog of war on so I don´t know for sure). All this means he ain´t likely going to be anything but a jobber and will likely be released at some point after his momentum tanks too low for salvage operation so don´t expect much from him. However, he will hopefully develop his skill set while looking arena lights and maybe that will help him be signed either by another company or me again later on. Austin Smooth: Age: 21 Popularity in USA: F+ Heel, Prima Donna. If Queen is my main face, then Smooth is the gyu who I look to be my main heel and like Queen, I´m hoping he will stay on top and grow with the company although I wouldn´t be too surprised if he eventually leaves to bigger company. I planned on using arrogant heel gimmick on him eventually but the default Prima Donna works just fine and is more or less the same thing in my mind so I just decided to keep the default one with him. Cobra Age: 25 Popularity in USA: F Heel, Snake Cobra will fight with Justice Jolson on the second heel spot, I initially rate him higher but that´s simply because I like his render and while that does help, he has to prove that he deserves the second top heel spot. I gave him a Snake gimmick, mainly planning him to be more of the cunning, cheating heel with Smooth having the arrogant one and Jolson being the brute force guy, thus gicing me a nice range of differend heels to work with. Justice Jonson Age: 27 Popularity in USA: F Heel, Strongman Jonson is by far my biggest guy, being big heavyweight while no-one else isn´t bigger than middleweight. That weight advantage makes him pretty much monster heel by default and I gave him a brute gimmick to back that up. Jonson will fight with Cobra on the second heel spot and only time will tell which one if either is going to get that spot. Still, like Cobra and Whitehead, he will get plenty of opportunities early on to show his skills thanks to three feuds running at any given time. Mad Dog Mortimer Age: 38 Popularity in USA: F Heel, Old School Heel Mortimer has the same fate than Lucas so count on him looking arena lights and don´t really expect much else from him. Still, he brings veteran presence in the locker room and should be good job guy down the bottom of the card. Non-wrestlers: Brett Graveson Age: 47 Popularity in USA: E+ Face, Staff member Dana O´Hara Age: 41 Popularity in USA: E- Face, Staff Member Reese O´Page Age: 40 Popularity in USA: E Face, Staff Member I don´t have much to say about non-wrestlers, ech can be expected to hold their jobs for at least until we get small with Graveson being likely kept as long as he stays do to him being locker room leader.
  21. Hello all. I have gotten itch for writing diaries again for sometime now and have actually done one of two failed attemps to get back (didn´t bother to post those since I failed to keep them up for more than few shows). Before I go any further, I want to say that I´m using WordPad instead of Word that I used on my earlier diaries and since WordPad doesn´t seem to have any spellcheck, I'm sure there´s going to be plenty of spelling mistakes on this diary (nothing new then since there always was those but it´s worse than usual so consider yourself warned). There won´t be any backstory since I´m no good at those, and while I thought about making a diary where I would discuss my decision making progress before each show, I just suck at this game so badly that it wouldn´t have anything else than a small comedy value of how someone can be so bad at this game. So instead, I will simply use same format than in most of my earlier diaries, posting a show and then commenting the show at the end of it, telling what I think went well and what didn´t and why I booked the way I did. There won´t be any prediction contest this time, mainly because I have already booked well ahead (full first year is done and written already) since I wanted to make sure that I´m committed enough for this one. So without further delay, here is the information of what the company is and why I made the choises I did make. My user character is Grand Avatar and user stats have 5 points on each of them. I have been hovering over what ever I want to start with cult level company or smaller one but in the end, I always backed out from cult level companies because me just not being comfortable with them so I decided to try 0/0/0/0 company again since that´s what I was mostly doing before and I had some of my best games with those...well, that was the initial idea but after the first month I realized that it wasn´t goign to work as I was 5000$ on dept and sponsor money was around 500$ so yeah that was going to bea short game. So, I gave myself one million dollars after the first show in order to survive and make the game more enjoyable to me (I learned later by reading foolinc´s great diary that I actually could have survived, since the bankrupt rules were way differend than I thought but at that point, I already has 3 - 4 shows done and didn´t want to restart) so just a heads up, this is not actually a 0/0/0/0 game even though I so state in my early posts. The reason why I thought about doing something else is that I feel it takes quite a long tome to push your company up to small and I never really enjoyed being local because of thight finances that restrict roster size and match boooking. Also, for whatevet reason, I really struggle to get anyone over low E- popularity or 17 if using grades (although that might partly be because I mostly played TEW2016 with empty database with just generated guys) and that obviously would come into play with local pormotion as your wrestlers will start below E- popularity (spoiler: I will spend some time looking at the popularity levels for my guys during the second half of the first year as this did became bit of an issue to me as predicted). However, I also don´t enjoy competing with other companies (Did I remember to tell just how bad I am at this game? AI usually outperformes me by at least one grade level so I certainly don´t look to pick a fight with any AI companies if I can help it) and being local gives me enough time to build my guys up (hopefully past that E- barrier that I always seem to hit) before needing to worry about fighting other companies and also the fact that I need less guys at once hopefully gives me a chance to set them up properly and give them actual personalities instead of just being generic wrestlers so I´m hoping that this will give me enough to look up for in order to get past the booking problems that local sized company usually gives me. So basically, it´s easy mode so that I can book more freely and don´t have to consider too much of grades and hiring the best talent possible though I do have some restrictions of who I can hire and how many guys I´m allowed to have in the roster to make things slighly more interesting. As for starting position, I was always goign to choose between UK, Australia or USA and while most of my failed attemps were on UK, I decided to pick USA this time, mainly because of best talent pool (to hopefully combat against that E- popularity cap that I usually hit). I decided to pick Puerto Rico as my starting area, mainly to avoid the company wars as long as possible. I well aware than this leads to me being local bit longer but I hope that it gives me easier time when getting small as falling back to local after fetting small would likely be a game killer, espesially if AI does it´s usual tricks and just have way higher grades than what I can ever produce. As for the product, I chose preset American Pro Wrestling product, which is the following: Mainstream: Key Traditional: Heavy everything else: none Match intensity: 15% Match danger: 10% no T&A or Women division, face and heel divide is on Match ratio is 70%. (should probably be lower but angles are more work than matches and I´m lazy so... yeah.) This means that wrestlers are rated more on popularity than performance and that Puroresu, hardcore and airial skills are less effective. Popularity over performance might be yet another mistake as I´m usually favor good in-ring work over entertainment skills (not to mention that I will start with punch of nobodies) but we have to see how it goes and this hopefully gives me a chance to use some older guys who have seen time in national companies more effective down the road. Right, with the basic things out of the way, let´s see the roster of nobodies that I decided to hire to accompany me for this latest trainwreck, shall we?
  22. <p>Great diary so far, loving to see guys like Jester, Quick Silver and Australian Devil as some of the top guys.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> League of Tag Teams Match</p><p> <strong>D'n'B (D-Pod & Francis Burke)</strong> v Forces of Dude (Fuzzy Freeman & Jesse Tasman)</p><p> <em>Forces of Dude is still pretty new in YEPW so obviously evaluating were they stand is terms of roster spots is bit unclear (losing to Soul Collectors doesn´t really tell much as they are the main heel group at the moment and likely expected to go over anyone who isn´t main player). That said, D-Pod has been pretty strong so far and at this point, that´s enough for me to pick D´n´B over Dudes.</em></p><p> </p><p> League of Tag Teams Match</p><p> Music Mash (DJ Panther & Lerone Slim) v <strong>The Australian Party People (Marcus Kerr & Matt Stoppard)</strong></p><p> <em>Well, it´s two new teams who both lost on their first match so not much to go for yet. That said, pretty sure Music Mash ain´t default team so Party People should have tag experience advantage and thus I go with them. Also they have a bit more story going on with their association with Sturt.</em></p><p> </p><p> League of Tag Teams Match</p><p> The Entourage (Blake Bushwell & Lothario) v <strong>The Soul Collectors (Bile & Eraser)</strong></p><p> <em>Entourage is too busy looking into mirror to win this one.</em></p><p> </p><p> League of Tag Teams Match</p><p> Dick & Morty (Mortimer Pyle & Felix Harding) v <strong>Sturt & HoBoo (Vance Sturt & HoBoo)</strong></p><p> <em>While Boo certainly gives hanticap with his gimmick, he´s still too talented in-ring for me not to pick him against most opponents.</em></p><p> </p><p> Gregory Grace v <strong>Quick Silver</strong></p><p> <em>Could see either one winning here but Silver has been more on the spotlight so far while Grace has been seen mainly in comedy angles so I go with Silver with this one.</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Australian Devil, Jackson Slade & Lone Rider</strong> v Jester, ??? & ???</p><p> <em>Hoping Horror Show are the mystery guys but regardless who they are, I think this is one of those "challengers need to look strong here since they aren´t going to beat champ in 1-vs-1 match" type of deals.</em></p>
  23. This guy has a cool name and all but he might have had one too many hits on the head. Either that or that head booker´s job is bit busier than he would like. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag421/zergon_81/Death%20frustrated_zps9zv8mknh.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag421/zergon_81/Death%20frustrated2_zpsxktizzci.jpg
  24. I´m going to say views. Replies are nice and might help motivate the writer (or at least it helps for me) but those aren´t always the best way to measure success. For example, diaries that won´t have prediction contest will likely have less replies than one that do but could still be more popular/succesful one.
  25. Yeah, those licenses can be a bit of pain. I just looked up every show Tigerkinney had reviewed here so far and found that less than 40 of them are actually ones I could watch in Crunchyroll (guess that those narrow my list down nicely though ). Not a big deal since if I really want to watch certain show, I can just watch somewhere else (for free) but still a bit annoying as the cost of Crunchyroll is actually one I´m willing to pay and would rather watch those shows there and support them instead of... well "cheating" for the lack of better word.
