  1. I have recently gotten into reaction videos of people hearing different music for the first time on YouTube. I am not sure why I am interested in it, because more often than not the reactor offers no real insight but I do enjoy those videos.

One channel had these two college-aged guys talking about how they had never heard of the Rolling Stones. That completely flummoxed me, how could they have not heard of the Rolling Stones?

Yes, the Stones were last relevant in the 1970s but their music is still played to this very day in various forms of media. It is like when a buddy of mine saw a clip of the Beatles and he said, "Dude is that guy right there the old dude in that Kayne West/Rihanna song?" I seriously thought of strangling my friend right there and then. The jury would have probably found me not guilty due to it being a justifiable homicide.

After all, how does someone who is in their late 30's not know who Paul McCartney is? And the only way my buddy knew him was through the worst song Paul has ever been on. That song was trash and nobody could convince me otherwise.

My point I guess is, am I the person who is not normal? After all the Stones and the Beatles were big years before I was born, yet I knew who they were. Growing up I knew who Buddy Holly, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline were. Hell, I even knew who Louis Armstrong was and he was big way before I was born.

Is it that younger generations are not exposed to older music or am I just an exception to the rule?

Have you watched Spider-Man : Far From Home? There's a scene there that kinda speaks to what you're talking about. I'm like half(?) a generation younger than you and while I'm familiar with the names of the classics, I don't always necessarily put two and two together. :o So MAYBE younger generations are exposed to older music, but not necessarily know who sang it?

Sucks that Connor lost but that low blow could at least lead to one more match. Maybe a lumberjack match? Lucinda in a shark cage to even things up? </p><p> 2. I like how your tag division is building up organically. It's like it's rejecting the fact that you have zero(?) plans for it <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> 3. YES! Onslaught and SJW aren't done yet! My dreams of an odd-pairing tag team are still alive! The Marginalized Allies are going to be the first-ever NEW tag team champions!</p><p> 4. I don't really pay attention to match grades, especially since NEW is a small company, but did the main event get the highest grade ever?</p>
  3. Real life REALLY sucks right now (see what I did there? lol) so i fully understand not wanting to write. But then again, if you do ever need an escape, this might be the perfect avenue. Just my two cents. :)

    For the NEW Championship:

    Conner Threepwood vs. Raphael ©

This HAS to be the draw, right?

The LA Stars vs. Manny Alvarez & Reggie Bishop

You did say they won't be jobbers, so let's push em TO THE MOON! Err... to the stars?

Mullet Mike, Nate DeMarcus, BP SWOLL vs. The Jet Set

Maybe this is the draw? But I dunno, I think we'll see some cracks forming from inside TJS

    Devil Dog vs. SJW

Don't wanna do it but he keeps letting me down every month :(

Paulie Pelton & Jerry Pepper vs. No Remorse

Would agree with Zergon and say tag name > no tag name, but I have a feeling you just don't have a good name for them yet. How about PP&J? Get it? Like PB & J? I'll see myself out

    Onslaught vs. Sasquatch McGraw

If our hero SJW has to suffer the indignity of a loss, it's only right that his ally Onslaught do so as well.

  4. Finally found time to sit and read the show:

    1. Mullet Manny and Mullet Mike in a mullet-off? More like it's a tag team in the making! Mullet Men assemble!

    2. Yes, the LA Stars look cool. Sucks that they're jobbers (for now).

    3. About making a Q-Anon character-- you're right. Don't need to give them any more pub than they're already getting.

    4. I can see Connor getting another shot then winning via DQ. Maybe Masked Mauler joins up with the Golden Hair God and you hit two birds with one stone by giving him (sort of) an angle.

    5.

Bump it all you want. I mean I try not to bump it up, but I cannot control what other people do.:D

Ride Like the Wind is a pretty good song. I am not sure if that would be considered Yacht Rock or not. His Sailing song is the very definition of Yacht Rock though.

What did you think of it the song?:D

What would be funny is if all of a sudden all of the different songs I have mentioned here start playing where you are. If Johnny Mercer's Accentuate the Positive (Though the chances of you hearing a song on the radio that was written during WWII would probably be very slim.), ELO's Mr. Blue Sky, or some Skid Row starts playing on the radio one day, you'll have me to thank.

The song was okay, but sounded like generic 80's music IIRC. I really hope I don't hear any of those songs in the future (although the radio station I do listen to has started to play older songs). They were playing late 90's and early 00's songs the other day and I was like, "damn, I'm (we're) getting old." But reading your songs now... well, you're older LOL :p

  5. Sadly he has an exclusive contract with TCW right now. Plus, I don't think I could afford Frederique even if he was free to sign.

Well, there aren't really two. I named Taylor Kidd it in a test game and he was just god awful. His stats killed any segment he was in. The reason why I chose Zippy to be SJW was that Zippy was one of the best talking young free agents in the game.

Please tell me you got the Christopher Cross reference, that would be hilarious if you got that and not the Crisscross reference.

I did screw up the spelling of their name though it was Kris Kross (I should probably go back and correct it, but I have to own my mistake. I thought it was the incorrect spelling but I was too lazy to look it up). Oddly enough the site I went on said it was Crisscross. So that might be why you did not get the reference. :o

Kris Kross were two teenage rappers who had a hit in America in the early 1990's. The song was called "Jump" and they wore their clothes backward. From what it said in Wikipedia they had a second hit called Warm It Up. I don't remember that song personally. Jump was big when I was a kid because the two kids in the group were my age and so that meant that me and my friends thought it was so cool that people our age could have a hit song.

Christopher Cross was a Yacht Rock singer from the late 1970's and the early 1980's. He had a slew of hits during that time period but soon his success sort just ended. I have heard it was because he was not the most visually appealing guy (Just a normal looking dude) and at that point MTV was becoming the big thing and with the industry shifting towards a visual medium, a normal looking guy like Chris was just not appealing to look at when you could look at the guys from say Duran Duran.

Well now I have gifted you the useless knowledge of Kris Kross and Christopher Cross. Do with that knowledge what you will...

I mean it is totally useless but you know, it might be good for something.:p

I'm.... happy(?) to say that I don't know who either Kriss Kross AND Christopher Cross were LOL I thought they were the same person :p

I know of Karrion Kross, does that count? LOL

Well I do enjoy the SJW gimmick and you're toeing the line perfectly that we KNOW he's a heel and stuff... looking forward to seeing your take on a Q-Anon believer LOL

    For the NEW Championship:

    Conner Threepwood vs. Raphael ©

French Lick's Finest gets the win via DQ or count-out but Raphael keeps the title, I think

Mullet Mike vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Astro vs. The Masked Mauler VII

    BP SWOLL vs. Manny Alvarez

Nate DeMarcus vs. Seth James Wilson

AAAAGH I really want to pick SJW but dammit there's a C-O-N-spiracy against him

Jerry Pepper & Paulie Pelton vs. Brutality Incorporated

  6. Interesting that there's another SJW out there... maybe this SJW finds himself an ally soon? (Would love for you to throw in a swerve of sorts and make it be Frederique Garcia lol)

Dammit I was the only one who didn't get a perfect score! Damn you, Onslaught! *shakes fists*

I liked Jet Set hanging out on a yacht in October lol but the Crisscross reference(?) went over my head (thankfully?).

Hopefully the snow storm wasn't as bad as expected. Stay safe!

  7. Onslaught vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Via DQ when SJW snaps? *TRIGGER WARNING*

Nate DeMarcus vs. Seth James Wilson

Via count-out when Onslaught wrecks SJW's safe space? *T-t-t-TRIGGER WARNING AGAIN*

Astro, Paulie Pelton, Jerry Pepper vs. The Jet Set

TBJ is really being a huge buzzkill but Sgt. Pepper's friends are... not ideal

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. "The Man's Man" Cip Conduit

Cip got screen time so he should get the win lol

    Conner Threepwood vs. Sasquatch McGraw

    The vendetta continues!

    For the NEW Championship:

    Mullet Mike vs. Raphael ©

Mike can take his Mullet and shove it up his butt 'cause there's no way he's winning against Canada's favorite son.

EDIT because this is just too important not to ask: Is SJW's finisher called the Trigger Warning? It should be IMO. But then again he doesn't really hit it so it doesn't really matter, does it? :D

  8. I wanted to make the character of Onslaught be more than just the gay wrestler and more of a wrestler who happens to be gay. I am not gay, but if I was I would not want to be defined as just the gay dude.

That is why I wanted him to not have that one part of his life be the one thing to define him. I mean sure it is an important part of his life but it is one of many important parts of his life.

I totally agree with this sentiment :)

    BP SWOLL vs. SJW

Probably wrong since you said he hasn't improved much but what the heck lol

Paulie Pelton & Astro vs. No Remorse

Onslaught & Jerry Pepper vs. The Jet

Nate DeMarcus vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Devil Dog vs. Masked Mauler VII

    Conner Threepwood vs. Deathwish

    For the NEW Championship:

    Jerry Martin vs. Raphael ©

  9. Sorry for being MIA but I'm all caught up now.

    1. "Hick From French Lick"? Nice Larry Legend reference lol

    2. Gotta echo the love for Jet Set and SJW. Though, I feel like you're trying too hard not to offend people with SJW, and it's diluting him a little.

    3. A bit predictable with Raphael winning the title. But I understand, it's a popularity thing. He's a good heel and at least he's got a bunch of storylines ready. I think we'll see Jerry Martin (aka Tommy Dreamer?) as his first challenger.

    4. I hope you've got more stories written!

    5. I think the Onslaught name doesn't fit the character, but then again, his character isn't "gay Latino," so what do I know. Maybe do something where SJW tries to force a "socially acceptable" name for him?

I had a few other thoughts but forgot to write them down. :o

  10. ...And Season 1 is officially a wrap. Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to join me on this ride.

Unfortunately this is where I am in real life, too. So Season 2 might be a while, if ever.

Now let's take a look at your comments:

Great 1st season. I called Lucy to be the winner.

Smart move, too! I was tempted to give it to Art Reed and Waylon Walls (that re-render is absolutely awesome) but in the end there was no denying Lucy Stone-McFly.

Did you have Lucy win just to screw with me?:p

LOL I swear I didn't :o I knew you wouldn't be a fan of the inter-gender stuff, but like I said, just think of it like Survivor, with the matches being the challenges and stuff :p

Nice ending to the first season, it's definitely a concept that grows the more history there is, and the more everyone is used to the format. As someone who over the years would go from religiously reading the many shows you posted, to not being on the forums at all, the idea that in theory someone who hasn't checked this out yet, could start reading for season 2 and in a sense be starting fresh is a real strong point.

I also love the idea of a reunion show.

How many people will be returning for Season 2? Will they be in the same teams? If these are questions you can even answer yet!

I really appreciate the love, my friend. Thanks for the DOTM nom, too!

As of now, the plan is for Lucy Stone-McFly (as Champion) to join Season 2. Still debating the teams, though. Looking to tweak the format a bit to give the contestants some room to breathe, as well as incorporate some stuff from kanegan's Warrior's Road game. ;)

All this to say... fingers crossed that I start to get the ball rolling now that Season 1's done.

Dunton Hall Announces a Few Changes For Next Season

Dunton Hall makes his entrance, calling CWF Champion Lucy Stone-McFly into the ring. Hall shares that plans for the second season are already underway and that he and Roz Larren had big plans for the Champion and her gold. Lucy Stone-McFly would be the only returning member of the season one roster, and that the second season would be running the full gauntlet: forty-eight weeks! The Champion would only be expected to defend her gold every four weeks, with Hall ending this segment by asking the fans to stay updated via the CWF website.

This was the first tag team match for the current incarnation of CWF featured some high-flying, fast-paced action, with both sets of duos looking to outdo the other in a thrilling contest that goes back-and-forth. Art Reed and Waylon Walls work splendidly together, a combination of precise timing and efficient teamwork making sure they come away with the victory, Reed running interference as Walls floors Simony Sentinel with the Dirty Deeds for the three-count.

This was an interesting title bout for the CWF Champion, going head-to-head against her closest friend and confidant, Zach Rudge. Neither competitor went easy on the other, the two wrestlers going all-out in a spectacular match that saw Zach Rudge almost come away with the gold. He counters a hurracanrana attempt into a hard powerbomb-- two-count! The Champion was on the defensive from then on, yet Rudge struggles to put this one away, failing to connect on the Freak Out and ultimately leaving himself open on the top rope-- Lucy Stone-McFly blocks it and causes Rudge to lose his balance! Lucy Stone-McFly was on the defensive for much of the match, Reed's veteran prowess shining through as he duked it out with one of the top young prospects in the country. Reed comes away victorious in the end, a late miscue from the Champion resulting in an inside cradle that costs her the gold. Art Reed is once again the CWF Champion!

CWF: Welcoming our guest on the final edition of the Weekly Contestant Interview, Lucy Stone-McFly.

Great to be here, guys! For a moment there, I thought you'd forgotten about me! (laughs)

CWF: Let's address the elephant in the room, namely, your parents.

Getting right to the point, are we? Well, can't say I didn't expect it. Yes, my parents are the "great" Sean McFly and the "great" Victoria Stone, but to me--? They're just "dad" and "mom." Yes, it was certainly a... challenge, growing up with not one, but TWO world-famous parents-- I'd like to think that they kept me grounded, though. They raised me right.

CWF: And here you are, making a name for yourself.

Of course! I love them dearly, and I know they love me. I
    also
know that this is something that I have to do. I have to succeed or fail on my own terms. It's only a matter of time before I try and step out of my parents' shadows, and what better way to do it than with the Canadian Wrestling Federation, right?

CWF: No arguments here. Your grandfather, Dan Stone Sr., was the most recognizable figure on the roster during CWF's initial run--

Oh, I'd love to be the same, to a new generation of viewers. He was a force to be reckoned with, for sure, and I'd like to think I've already learned a lot from him. He, he's a great man, my grandfather.

CWF: Changing course to more recent events-- you'd formed quite a friendship with Zach Rudge.

Zach was sweet. He looked out for me, so it was sad to see him go last week. Solomon Gold earned his spot in the final four, so I have to focus in my match against him tonight, to make sure I stay alive.

CWF: You've beaten Solomon Gold three consecutive weeks now, how difficult will it be to stay on track and avoid from underestimating him?

Here's the thing: people are always the most dangerous when their backs are against the wall, and Solomon, he's all backed up. I've never taken him lightly, and I don't intend to start now.

CWF: Well, one more win and you're in the final three, Lucy. We wish you all the luck in the world.

Thank you. I take things one match at a time, so yes, one more win and then it's on to the next one.

Seven days after escaping with a win against Waylon Walls, Art Reed's reign as Champion was again in jeopardy against a highly-motivated challenger: it was win-or-go-home for Solomon Gold, and he fought like it. Gold battled hard, multiple times almost shocking the world by landing some improbable blows against the veteran Reed, only to score near-falls. It just wasn't meant to be, however, and the Hillbilly Heartthrob's run in CWF comes to a close with a valiant effort in a heartbreaking loss against the still-undefeated Art Reed.

Dunton Hall makes it official: Solomon Gold is going home! Gold goes oh-for-three on the night, cementing his departure as well as the cast of the final three. Gold gets a round of applause and takes a bow, making his exit and trimming the field to three.

    NOTES:

Solomon Gold was slightly over-used. The general feeling is that CWF don't have enough interesting storylines going on. This show increased our popularity in 1 region.
