  1. I'm having problems getting worker pictures to show up. I'm kinda scratching my head because the company, TV show logos, etc are all seemingly in place but I cant seem to get worker pictures to show up. I had this happen with two other real world mods so somethings telling me this is a user (me) error. Can anyone think of common mistakes that would lead to this?
  2. I'd like to play this on my twitch stream. I can't seem to be able to capture the game properly for streaming in OBS. I tried using "game capture" but that doesn't work at all. I've tried using "window capture" but it only captures the main game window. Anytime I click on anything it creates a new window within the game and that new window won't show up on my stream. I've tried playing with the limited number of settings available to me and every combination of it and it doesn't work at all. Display capture is always a black screen no matter what i do. That has nothing to do with TEW and probably more to it being my laptop's internal display. Any help is appreciated.
  3. I always get Greg Gauge and Fro Sure. But theyre both kinda good. Annihilus and Prometheus fit this bill more for me because I really do push them JUST BECAUSE. Actually in my last (and longest) 2016 game they developed quite nicely and became huge stars in time and weren't terrible in the ring. Like... mega huge stars. Arguably the two top dogs in the world at one point. They won multiple tag team of the year awards for me and both had stellar singles runs before they finished their careers as a reunited tag team again. In this game... I got em over easy enough (SQUASH!!!!) but they are both just... not very good in the ring. BUT I HAVE TO HAVE THEM
  4. I do a max length show once a year I call "Marathon". Super original and edgy I know. But yea I do one a year. If you have guys with stamina its nice to have an event when they can go long and you can really challenge yourself and see what they can do. Super fun with Perfect Crowd Theory on. I'll admit if I were trying to go for nothing but perfect A+ "99-100" events all year it wouldn't be effective because its the show I'm most likely to bomb all year but it's fun. Some years I do a tournament some years I just have a bunch of really long matches. In this save I've made things quite easy for myself so I'm not bragging. I have a massive developmental system I can borrow road agents and refs from but if you run a show where lots of local workers are unemployed you can do the same thing without spending a ton of money to do it once a year for fun like I do.
  5. Yes but their morale isnt effected. Road agents only complain if they are also wrestlers in my experience maybe im wrong. When they complain about "developmental being too small" which is what I think youre seeing (I havent seen any other complaints in my saves), the game is telling you that the worker is working in a company thats too small for them and will effect their popularity growth and cap the financial returns you could be making off of that worker, etc. I've never seen it effect their morale negatively like it used to in 2016 nor do I see it effect their segment ratings. The old system saw workers complain for being in developmental "too long" but "too long" was arbitrary based on their personality and things like that. So a worker that was promising if egotistical (and what young brash wrestler wouldnt think they are special and dream big?) could find themselves with tanking morale long before they are ready to mix it up with your big stars. There were tons of issues with the old system. This system is vastly improved IMO. So the complaints arent indicative of a negative impact. They're just telling you that you could be making more money off of said worker.

On their profile where is discusses their morale click on that.</p><p> </p><p> Ont he next screen to the righthand side there will be a window that says "Give bonuses or time off". 7. <p>I've played around with it on a few different saves. I myself like the popularity changes if its worth anything. My very good workers are getting over better. My excellent workers are now stars. My more boring workers arent getting pop for no reason. If i put the right people consistently on TV in a positive way they seem to gain popularity properly and if I dont they dont. </p><p> </p><p> Everything with this last patch seems perfect to me.</p><p> </p><p> Broadcaster size definitely matters. </p><p> </p><p> As far as you making "too many" stars... this WOULD happen in real life if WWE booked people properly and had consistent win streaks and gave more of their top stars better momentum. As they used to. When the company has hot angles and books with consistency they make stars. And if you think they arent making stars today I just dont know what to tell you but this current crop of upper talent from Seth down to Braun and ladies like Charlotte and Becky is probably a more recognizable "top ten" then its been in decades. Cena was always THE ONE GUY everyone knew but due to podcasting and major sports sites picking up WWE and stuff like Barstool... regular people know who Kofi Kingston is and they didnt used to. </p><p> </p><p> WWE has problems but making popular and entertaining talent is not one of of them. The talent is fine. Its the TV show that sucks.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Anyway rant over. You're making too many stars because youre good at the game. Seems like theres other ways to make the game harder for YOURSELF if YOU want to than tying it so closely to the Star Quality stat for everyone else. Maybe play around with preferences and settings to tune it just right for you and see if that helps. I'd try that over reverting to an old version of that game.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Donners" data-cite="Donners" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="51405" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>People have been finding it in the Cverse, with dozens of workers at 90+ pop after a few years, which is clearly broken.<p> </p><p> Looks like 1.18 has improved things, though it'll take a bit more testing to be sure.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Where was this outcry? I missed it in the forums. I didnt see this much unless I had my cheaty mega broadcaster with enormous coverage everywhere but I admit I only simmed a year or so in most of the saves I toyed around with.</p>
  8. I THINK open match effects the level of success for the individual workers involved. I think in a regular match between a Major Star and a Recognizable worker, running it normally with the Major Star winning will see a bigger pop or momentum gain for that star than it would if you used "open match", which makes it a more neutral segment for both talents as the Recognizable will lose very little momentum or pop if any. Rather than a major or minor victory for one over the other. I dont know if this makes sense or if its even right. Its something I think I've noticed. So it could be seen as a negative if used improperly. I've generally found it most successful in matches with workers at the same level of perception. It might be redundant or even a bad thing depending on what youre trying to do if youre using it in a match with workers at different levels of perception.
  9. Hey man thats as good of logic as any thanks! I might have been doing something wrong I'm gonna do some experimenting and see what I can come up with Thank you!
  10. The reality TV show feature you described is in WMMA not TEW 20202. You can create round robin tournaments. You can create a new TV show and feature nothing but that round robin tournament and you could replicate something like that fairly closely with a lot of control over wins and losses and pop shifts. than the "Reality TV show" format of how WMMA does it. IF you have your own broadcaster you can even cancel the show for a few weeks after the tournament ends to mimic "seasons" of the show. All kinds of things you can do.
  11. Story lines are a little trickier in 2020 so I could be totally wrong here but I dont think they have any direct effect on pop increase. At least not that I've noticed. AFAIK story lines exist to boost (or penalize) segments and to make entertainment based companies more of a challenge. Would you mind getting into the kind of popularity gains you've seen and how you did it using storylines? I may be doing something wrong I love picking the brains of other players I've learned so much that way.
  12. For what its worth I agree with Remi 100%. I was literally coming here to say everything he said based on the title of the post.
  13. Yes. You want two workers with very high stamina and psychology, use the road agent notes open match and slow build. Other skills are obviously a plus but if the workers involved dont have very high stamina and psychology it'll probably bomb with those show notes. I've done it with and without "call in ring" but I've gotten weird penalties even when dudes had really high psychology. Maybe I accidentally threw a bad road agent on there or something I wasnt paying attention to but it happened enough times that it scared me off of using that note for very long matches. I could very possibly be wrong about that though I dont know. Match aims get a little trickier. I've done it with epic but I've seen "epic" bomb when I felt like it shouldnt so I'd actually just have a "regular" match aim if i was desperate to get a 99 rating out of an hour long match. The thing is just check your product. I'm pretty sure a garbage deathmatch wrestling product will cause fans to never want to watch a one hour long match under any circumstances so even if you have the two best workers in the game go at it for an hour it'll bomb. But if your product doesnt say anything like "Fans wont tolerate lengthy matches" or "Fans will want matches to be kept short" or however its worded you should be good to go. Actually a good question. Skills trickle out over time in this game. They dont just get the boost is stats right away after the show like they used to. So its hard for me to pick up on exactly what segments are doing what to help my guys. I THINK... yes. I've had jobbers grow in entertainment skills and the only thing I did with those guys for promos was stick them in there with one guy who was rated on Entertainment. But... theyre all very young so its possible they just grew naturally. I dont know for sure. See above You can set up an angle either Freestyle or you can program it in with Angle Writer where you have eight workers on screen in a segment but only one of them is rated. So you could have 7 total jabronis in an angle thats rated 100 if you have a prime Rock being rated on entertainment. The real world application of this had been debated for years. I would say it would be like maybe early Nation of Domination promos where Farooq came out and talked and everyone else just kinda stood there looking mean but by being present and identified clearly to the audience it did... to a point anyway... get them over. Would those promos be considered worthy of a 100 rating? Probably not but I like to think of it like it's possible that a promo like that COULD be that good with the right guy doing the talking. I dont know. Is it gamey? Totally. But thats what that would mean.
  14. <p>No one is saying there should be no rules. No one is saying everyone should be a star. I dont know where you guys are coming up with this but it seems like youre arguing against points that were never made.</p><p> </p><p> Some players would simply like the option to turn off the worker cap as they find the new system cumbersome. </p><p> </p><p> I'm personally on the fence. I find the pop cap to be an interesting challenge and I don't fully understand it yet. considering I've been playing this game a lot I'd say thats a GOOD thing that it's kept me hooked. But I like options so if the option to turn it off was available I'd be for it but if it's something that cant be done or it's something Adam thinks is part of a better game design and he doesn't want to change it because he disagrees with those players, I personally would totally understand.</p><p> </p><p> I've said many times TEW2020 is an amazing game and with all the new things I love I can deal with a few things I don't love. I've yet to play a game that was total bliss. While i find the new pop cap system to be frustrating at times, frustration is part of gaming and always will be.</p>

If it does, this seems like the easiest solution. That way if a worker who you want to push has a cap, you can basically eliminate it, while not upsetting game balance and having everyone become uncapped.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You can directly edit the popularity of a worker up as you want. IF you have The Rock with a pop cap at 92 for instance, if you edit his pop to 100 he will stay there if you keep him hot and winning. So you can edit yourself PAST the cap but the cap remains in place. If he loses he will start to naturally drift down towards 92 until he stays there. At least in my experience I may be wrong.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="ShaunGBD" data-cite="ShaunGBD" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="51227" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It doesn't because adam saids the cap always changing.<p> </p><p> I just say give us an option to turn it off</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I THINK it's always recalculated but not always changing. There are things that happen that give your workers sudden boosts in skills, so the cap will be recalculated based on the worker's stats the day of the show you are booking. But in my experience pop cap doesnt go DOWN until the workers start getting old.</p><p> </p><p> Unless you directly edit his skills or something catastrophic that never happened to me exists in the game your workers skills wont decrease until they get old so I'm guessing thats why this happens.</p>
  16. I personally find this game to be great. I like the added options and more importantly the ability to turn them off. What is best is simply the things you can do from a corporate standpoint. All the companies you can create, broadcasters, etc I just love all that stuff. I really adore the way developmental works now. I feel like not enough praise was devoted to how great that new system is because people got hung up on having to staff the entire company on their own. But its a system that gives much more benefit and much less hassle overall than it did in 2016. Anyway. For me there are times when I like booking a really challenging save but in my main save I kick back sandbox style and just see what the game can do. Its like my own little wrestling universe in which I am omnipotent. Love it. And I've made the game very easy on myself in doing so. Being able to directly edit chemistry and basically every stat but hidden destiny values this game is, to me, easier than ever if you want it to be. So I hope its not sounding trite I genuinely am trying to help. But have you gone into preferences and settings and played around with things to make the game a bit easier for you? I think changing the company product to no style style in the editor and turning off match aims would basically give you the sandbox you are looking for. You could book Steamboat and Flair for an hour and as long as they are popular enough it'll be a hit. You can book Vader to have a monster squash in as little as 6 minutes and it'll get him over if you do it enough. I feel that particular setting (no style style no match aim) to be the easiest, most free way to book because you can essentially do anything the game lets you do. It may be worth exploring an alternate save with these setting simply to learn new information then apply that to the save youre more emotionally attached to. TLDR: I had frustrating moments when I was still learning too but I find 2020 genuinely easier and more fun to play sandbox style it just took me time to adjust my strategy to this game. When I did I found enjoyment playing both sim style and sandbox style so If I were you I'd "cheat" every way I could to make the game as easy as possible before I gave up on it.
  17. So what about the topic at hand? The ability to someday turn this off as we can with other parts of the game like Perfect Crowd Theory and Match Aim Requirements. Is it possible? Something that can be looked into? Even if its not possible or its something you simply dont want to do for artistic reasons I would get that but it would help either way to know which direction you're taking on this issue. Thanks for the info though it always helps. I knew SQ was a factor. Charisma for me was a little dicier. There were a few people who I editted up JUST their SQ or JUST their Charisma and the ones whose SQ increased... I was able to greatly impact their pop cap. The ones with just charisma... I didnt see the dramatic gains at least not immediately. Obviously the ones where I editted both saw big gains in pop cap but it was hard to tell if it was basically just the SQ or what. While I'm at it if this question is too gamey and inside baseball just ignore it but it's worth a shot: Does the experience stat factor in? I'm pretty sure it does based on my time with the game but itd be wonderful to know if I'm wrong.
  18. One thing to remember is that the game works in decimals but hides everything but the whole number. So if a guy goes from 70.1 pop to 70.9 pop you're going to see the pop at 70 even though he gained some. Another thign to remember is your pop cap. If you are a small company and not on TV... your worker will only get so popular. Even in a big company with a huge broadcasting contract... some guys with really great stats just cap out at 70 pop and thats that. A big thing in 2020 is to think of popularity shifts in terms of Major/minor success or defeats among the individuals. So if Worker A has a pop of 65 and beats Jabroni Joe with a pop of 35, thats a minor success for Worker A. He's going to get a little bit of momentum gain. If he's super hot he might see a little bump in pop. But thats not going to shift the needle in a major way. Meanwhile Jabroni Joe only had a minor defeat. Depending on how hot he is he may not see any noticeable pop loss at all. Now if Jabroni Joe beats Worker A... Jabroni Joe just had a major success and if he has good momentum you will see him with a massive shift in popularity. BUT.... in TEW2020 a big pop gain is based on the individual not their opponent. SO... a big shift for Jabroni Joe might only be from 35 to say 39ish. He had a major success and gained a ton of pop. What happens to Worker A in this scenario is he loses a Major Defeat and he takes a huge dump in pop. But again, youre going from like 65ish to say 62ish or so. These numbers are off the top of my head but my point is you wont see a gain of 20 points of popularity or anything in one match or anything like that no matter what you do. Or at least I dont. They key is to think of the individual not the opponent. Jabroni Joe isnt going to be in the 60s just because he had one victory over a guy at that level. Point is it takes time to build momentum but when you do you will see big gains when they beat more popular workers. The momentum system and popularity system are explained well in the handbook the challenge is finding what you're looking for. Popularity is explained under the "Workers" tab and The Momentum System is explained in the "Running Your Company" tab.
  19. While overall its a vast improvement, there were numerous changes made to this years game that I didnt like. Generally they highlighted realism in favor of making the game more tedious to play. I can turn off all of them ala carte if i want to except for the new pop cap system. Now.., in a way you can get around it. You can go in an edit everyones pop to whatever you want. But still... it wouldnt be horrible to turn it off if it was possible. The cap is simply too strict. Star quality is way too important for a stat that you essentially cant train much and wont improve much. It's silly to have a 19 year old worker that I know I can literally never use properly. I get that everyone cant get to 100 everywhere but too many guys cap out at 70 and its way too fickle as far as how and why people get above that naturally. It feels imbalanced. To me. Just my opinion. And its made more difficult by the weird emails I get after a show. A vet will tell me a young 28 year old is a star in the making for years and I should push him or that he wants to put him over and this and that. It made me feel like I was doing something wrong but its just another mechanic that doesnt jive with the pop cap system. It's a frustrating part of the game but one I've learned to work around. I still play and enjoy 2020 a lot with no intention of going back to 2016. SQ DEFINITELY effects the pop cap in a huge way btw. The only way I can immediately force the pop cap on a worker to increase is by boosting their SQ in the editor. If you increase a guys star quality in the editor their cap will improve. It just may still be too low based on hiddens.
  20. I always start with a promo and end with a match. And I rarely have back to back matches without a promo. Only if I need to cool off the crowd. The only exception is my season finale, which is a four hour show generally with very few matches that are very long. I like to keep promos to a minimum and focus on giving my elite talent a ton of time on that show so I usually start and end with matches but have promos in between to break it up for the crowd. I start with angles because as someone from the "Tri State" region of this game world, its how I grew up watching wrestling but there is a strategic benefit. I need to have at least two matches I can bank on and one of them will be the last match. But the longer the show goes theres more that can screw things up. It takes time to get the crowd heat management / perect crowd theory down so you could easily botch that while youre learning (this took me YEARS to learn properly so I respect this is no small task for some but very common sense easy for others). Plus theres injuries, bad psychology and selling, bad manager work, all kinds of stuff can gunk all that up your matches. Promos are much lower risk. Having a promo with reliable workers in segment one makes segment 2 an EXCELLENT low risk place to put a match you need to bank on.
  21. If you check out the help file on the subject, it tells you that broadcaster size, company size, worker skill, and a random element factor into the popularity cap. The one skill I know DOES contribute is SQ. I think experience does as well but I KNOW star quality does. They arent a direct conversion though. So if HBK has a SQ of 76 you may find his pop cap out at say 82. Or it might be 70. Depends on those other factors. However I can tell you this as fact: If your worker has hit a cap in pop and cant gain any more, increasing their star quality by enough will increase the cap eventually. How much so is not an exact science thats all. And high SQ doesnt guarantee high cap. I dont know exactly but its around 1 point per match. Sometimes less. It's a decimal system but the decimal is actually hidden. So if their experience goes to from 10.1 to 10.9 I'm pretty sure the game doesnt round up. You'll just see the 10 for two matches. They get experience every time they are in a tag team match together. They seem to get experience in multi man tag team matches (3v3,4v4,5v5) as long as they are on the same side too. They always gain some experience. How much so specifically, I don't know for sure. Generally, I see a 1 point per match gain but not always. As I said, I'm pretty sure they ARE gaining that experience but its not a full point for whatever reason and I just dont see it. I might be wrong though.
  22. Yep. Totally normal. If you sign a worker who has 21 days left on an old contract to an exclusive written deal you will wait those 21 days before he becomes available to you. In the future if you wanna cheat the system you can edit the old contract to 1 day BEFORE you finalize the deal and you'll get em right away. It's a total cheat but its your game... if you want the guy thats one way to get them right away.
  23. When i was getting it I had plenty of "major stars" on the cards. The issue was that my company was more popular than my talent. Of those eight or so "major stars" most of them were at around 70 pop due to pop cap and my company was getting into the high 70s depending on the region. I THINK you basically have to two matches populated with talent that is at least somewhere close to your company's pop at a minimum or you get this. So I had one or two guys that were over 79ish for sure, but for months they were either in the same match or both of them were fighting guys that were at 70... and i would get this. They put on great matches and I got great ratings... but i got this message. I could be off on those numbers and the specific criteria I'm not like examining the databases each month or anything like that... this is just me learning as I play.
