1. Is there a way to turn off or get around the size requirement when hiring fighters? Example, if I'm an American company and Unknown I can only hire fighters based in America, if I'm Regional I can only hire in America, Canada, and Mexico. I'd like to be able to hire worldwide if possible. EDIT: Found it! It's in the Eras section.
 2. Does anyone know the default settings? I can't remember if I overwrote mine ages ago...
 3.

I love a good tournament style promotion. Is it just single night tournaments that lead to a title fight, or does the winner get a title fight at another show?

It's been a blast! I don't do any single night tournaments, instead I do them across multiple events - basically, I seed them out, so if I'm doing an 8-man tournament I make it something like this for a bracket:

1 vs. 8, 4 vs. 5, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 for the quarterfinals, and then do the semifinals on another card, and then the finals on another card. The finals are always for the belt, no other fight ever is.

So my champ is always seeded #1, but he isn't putting the belt on the line unless he makes it the finals. If he happens to lose before the finals, I strip the belt and it's vacant until the finals roll around, and then that's for the vacant belt. I also do 12-round title fights, which can be pretty wild.

The one exception is that if my champ is hurt and can't participate or continue in a tournament, I'll bench him and let the tournament proceed without him. The finals are then for the interim belt, and then I unify them on another card.

I've done up to 16-man tournaments so far, but as more fighters debut (I'm only in Feb of 1998 in my real world mod without fighter generation on, so the database is still a little slim) I plan on doing 32-man ones.

 4.
I'm running a tournament based promotion in a real world mod (kind of like old Bellator, multi-night tournaments with the winner getting the belt), starting back in 1993.

Welterweight has been pretty well dominated by Jose Landi-Jons. He's 8-1. Akihiro Gono is a clear #2 in the division even though he's 6-4; three of those four defeats are at the hands of Jose Landi-Jons in tournament finals.

I do 12-round title fights, and Landi-Jons and Gono have met in three different tournament finals, with Landi-Jons winning the 12-round decision each time. In the third meeting, Landi-Jons broke his wrist during the fight and still pulled it off.

The next tournament was to crown an interim champ to fight Landi-Jons when he healed up. Gono wins it and earns his FOURTH shot at a 12-rounder with Landi-Jons, this time to unify the belts.

Finals scores: 114-114, 115-113 Gono, 115-113 Gono. Hard to say if the broken wrist had a lasting impact or if Gono just finally made the right adjustments...but with them being 22 and 23 years old, we've got a lot of time to see how this rivalry shakes out!

 5.
Interesting scenario - I'm running a real world mod where Royce and Renzo Gracie are blood relatives.

Typically, they always refuse to fight each other. I've tried to match them up a couple times, and they understandably turn it down.

However, I did a multi-night tournament and they ended up meeting in the finals. I went to book it (also for the MW belt) and they surprisingly accepted! What would've caused that? Is it that it's for the belt? That it's the final of a tournament and they knew this might happen? My user talents haven't changed at all, so it has to be other circumstances.

(As an aside, pretty fun fight for my Low Level Regional company in 1997! Royce is 9-0, Renzo is 2-1. Both made it through the 8-man tournament to meet in the finals, they're cousins, and it's for the MW belt. Lotta hype behind it.)

 6. I read through the fight engine pretty quick, it would really help if the fighters' names were colored either red or blue depending on what corner they're in. Something like: "Silva can't hit a set-up left jab, but then he hits Belfort with a straight right."
 7. I'm playing through with just a single openweight class - basically, all my fighters are in one 90-600 lbs division. I'm also the only company in the game world. It's just a fantasy sandbox run where I'm making fun fights. It's pretty great and I'm enjoying it a lot, but it seems like some features just don't work. For example, no one ever gets ranked - there's no world rankings at all. No one ever calls anyone out either, so I'm wondering if that's typically tied to ranks. Since no one is ranked, no one is calling anyone out is my guess. Is this by design, or do some features just plain not work with a single weight class in the game world?
 8. Whoa, I had no idea you could right-click to jump to delegate. Are there other shortcuts like that? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
 9. In the roster screen, you can start typing a name and it'll jump you to that fighter. For example, if I type, "Mat" it'll take me to "Matt Hughes". In matchmaking, though, it only jumps you to the first letter. If I type "Mat", it'll take me to the t's, since that's the last letter I typed. It makes having a large openweight roster a bit challenging.
 10.
What goes into betting odds? I'm assuming not just record, but also skill? It just seems a little weird when two fighters making their debut have a massive odds discrepancy, despite neither of them having a pro fight.

I suppose it can be hand-waved away by saying the bookies watched old amateur fights <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 11.
It's August 1997. Royce Gracie is the VFC (Virtual Fighting Championship) welterweight champ and has been since his debut December of 1993 when he first fought for the belt. He's 15-0, with 12 of those finishes by submission. No one has more defenses than him. He is, without a doubt, the greatest fighter in the world.

He is 30, though, and he's starting to lose a step - he's not dominating like he used to.

Enter Matt "The Law" Lindland, a wrestler out of American Kickboxing Academy. He's only 2-0, but Gracie has all but cleared the division at this point, so he gets his shot. A +430 underdog to Gracie's -540.

It's VFC 36. It's an 11-round welterweight title fight main event. We're in Brazil. Here we go.

Round 1: To everyone's surprise, Lindland wins it definitively. Gracie can't take him down - every time he gets close, he eats some shots. Nothing too damaging, but it's a shock. Gracie better buckle up...it's looking like a rough night.

Round 2: Another clear round for Lindland. It's the same story. He's boxing the champ up. An upset is in the air.

Round 3: More of the same, except for a shining moment - Gracie gets the takedown with ten seconds left. It's not enough time to do anything, but he shows it can be done. Still, Lindland's round. It's 30-27.

Round 4: Lindland slips a right and lands a HUGE right of his own. Gracie's jaw breaks on impact and he goes down. Lindland charges in with a soccer kick, narrowly misses, and a seriously hurt Gracie scrambles to his feet. They start brawling. Gracie lands a couple of shots, but nothing troubling...and then Lindland lands a 1-4 combo right on the jaw. Gracie goes down for the second time this round. Lindland follows him to the ground this time with two minutes left and starts pounding away from side control. Gracie desperately ties him up and survives.

Round 5: Fourteen seconds into the round, Lindland hits a crunching straight to the jaw - again. Gracie is dropped for the third time, but Lindland is exhausted. He cut 21 pounds to make the welterweight limit, and it's catching up to him. He follows Gracie into side control again, and starts going to work with right hands. 3:30 left in the round, Gracie miraculously gets half guard. Lindland passes immediately...but a scramble starts. Gracie gets his back with 2:59 left...and then the body triangle with 2:26 left. With 1:48 left in the round, he sinks in the RNC and Lindland gives up the tap.

Whew. My favorite fight so far <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 12.
How does sorting work when you pick catchweight?

For example, if I sort by "Reputation" and pick catchweight, which weight class' reputation value is considered when sorting? Is it the highest of the eleven, or the weight class their currently in, or something else?

 13. Do shows without broadcasters generate popularity for the company? If I wanted to take a company from Unknown to Mid Level Regional before I signed with a broadcaster is that viable, or would it be way too slow of gains to be reasonable?
 14. I know reach has an actual in-game effect on the fights, but does height? I didn't see it mentioned in the in-game help text, but I might've missed it.
