It's actually probably worse. The RIAA and other copyright infringement groups basically shut down music sharing sites about a decade ago. Vevo is similar to GEMA. The general rule is that using music created by somebody else is a violation of that copyright. That said, a lot of smaller companies can probably get away with it (ECW and "Enter Sandman" come to mind) because frankly it would cost the RIAA and media companies more to sue than they'd receive in restitution.

I've thought about doing this for whenever I start my next dynasty. You can use it to call major points of the match and further the story line. The problem is avoiding being repetitive with the commentary and making sure the announcers stay in character so to speak. I say give it a shot!

That's why, I believe, my SWF project was more followed than projects like DOA/WAR (I still had great followings, just not to the same widespread level).</p><p> </p><p> That said, would you still read a project centered around a company that is not in your default game?</p><p> </p><p> My time is super limited but I believe I could write for a company if... 1) They were small enough to have less frequent shows, 2) A smaller roster, and 3) wouldn't need updating every (or even every other) week. It'd be in more of a recap scenario (promos are not written out); so, not to my typical depth.</p><p> </p><p> It'd be a regional company that's focused around elevating the best of the Indy world; creating the Faith's, Strong's, Keith's, etc. of tomorrow. <p>I echo many of the above sentiments, but I think there's a lot of things that go into a "successful" diary (define success how you want, but I think a high number of readers probably would be most writers goal). To take two very different examples, one of whom posted above.</p><p> </p><p> I had no history with CGC. Never played with them. Never read a CGC diary. Nothing. But, I checked out Self's CGC, loved the characters and his writing style and now I can't wait until another show is posted. On the flip side, The Final Countdown's WWF diary is from a time period most, if not all of us, know very well. That said, if I found the characterization lacking or the story boring, I would've stopped reading. A good writer makes a good diary.</p><p> </p><p> Pictures help for me because it makes the diary visually appealing as opposed to giving off the vibe that I'm reading a book. </p><p> </p><p> What I will tell you is that a lot of new writers find it tough to draw in readers at the level of some of the veterans, but that if you keep at it, one of your diaries will strike a chord and you'll have the board eagerly awaiting your next project.</p>

Over the years I've developed a style carried over from EWB. It's very basic, but works. Although I've adapted some other people's formats into my own (smwilliams was the one I saw doing all of his angles in quotes, I totally ripped that from him sorry bro) and I've tweaked things to make it my own. But that's my format, another GREAT format is PS' or Self's. Then there's the people with crazy good presentations... </p><p> </p><p> I think it's a mixture of both writing and presentation, 70% writing 30% presentation. I've seen some good presentation but horrible writing before and I said "eh, forget it." But that's just me.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Haha, no worries dude.
