  1. Actually, having WWF not owning WCW and just having them as Sister companies with Talent Trading activated may still be the best way to go.
  2. Anyway, I think the way around this is to set WCW as a Development company (I didn't want to do that) and then have WWF found another child company (the 2000 version of NXT) and then shuffle people around accordingly. Only issue with this is guys like Austin and the Rock won't want to go down to WCW.
  3. That's only for Development, I can't get that to work when it's another company I own. As an example, I can "Take" a worker from WCW on the Child Company Roster screen (note that's different than "Recall" when it's Development), but I can't find a way for WCW to take the worker back. It seems to be a one-way street unless there's some other screen I should be looking at.
  4. Yeah, I thought about doing an alliance, but I'm not sure I like how alliances work in this game for what I want. I think I've almost got it set-up as I'd like, I just can't for the life of me figure out how to send a WWF worker back down to WCW.
  5. Ok, so I'm starting a new game, with a new concept and I'm hoping for some suggestions here, guys. So, essentially, I'm going to play with the very excellent 2000 mod by TheCoolestJedi, and my idea is that Vince has bought WCW and plans to run them as separate companies. So what I've done is set Linda as the owner of WCW and I've set the two companies to have a close relationship and my plan is to play as the booker of both companies. But here's the tricky part... I want to be able to use workers (and possibly belts, not sure I can do this) on both shows.. I'm going to run Raw on Monday and Nitro on Thursday (and get rid of all other A and B shows), but what's the best way to make this a thing? Talent Trade seems like an ok option and is probably my fallback, but in experimenting I've found if I make WWF own WCW I can effectively "call up" (it's not development though) WCW workers to the WWF roster, but I can't find a way to send them back down. How would you handle this situation? Would you use Talent Trades or WWF owning WCW (you can't have both, unfortunately) or even WCW as a development company of WWF? Or some other approach I haven't thought of here?
  6. Yeah, I think I'm boned, I've tried absolutely anything and there's nothing I can do to save the company mid-save.
  7. Has anyone else played the "WCW Goodbye and Goodnight" mod and found WCW inexplicably closes at the end of the first month due to their parent company (Fusient Media Ventures) closing or something? I'm currently stuck booking Slamboree on the last day of the month and whatever I do, when the show finishes my company closes. I've tried using cheats to add money, but nothing stops them closing. Does anyone have any idea of how I can somehow sidestep this issue in PM mode? I'm happy to try anything to save my game, I'm really happy with how well I've booked the first month. I have a funny feeling I'm juicy-fruited here, but just thought someone else might have an idea.
  8. I remember once I had Foley fight two people in a Handicap Match (can't remember who it was now) and I changed his name to be "Mankind, Cactus Jack & Dude Love" before the match. It then showed up on my card as Mankind, Cactus Jack & Dude Love defeated Team X in a Handicap Match

  10. Good start, I really enjoyed the format! One small thing, could you show the results for each match just a few seconds longer? A couple of them were really short, and I think there was one you didn't even show. Apart from that though, your format was really smooth and I thoroughly enjoyed your first Nitro!
  11. This is true, although I think you're still better off not having any unimportant vs unimportant worker matches because I think they benefit more from having higher rated matches and they just don't get that when facing other unimportant workers. That's the way I've always viewed my B Shows anyway, although to be perfectly honest, I hardly ever play with B Shows. I usually cancel them at the start of any new save.
  12. You won't get penalised if you have a recognisable worker in the match, it only happens when they're all unimportant.
  13. Cheers man. As with most converted mods, I’m having quite a few problems with steroids and drugs in my workers, and it’s belting around my backstage rating a bit, particularly now that I’ve split the roster back into Raw and Smackdown. For some reason Smackdown has a much lower backstage than Raw which is 100%, even though I’ve tried to balance the personalities. And then literally yesterday, after reading a comment on this very forum I realised I could try and talk people out of doing drugs. So I worked through the whole roster talking everyone out of every drug that was an option. I reckon I got about a 50% success rate, so that’s hopefully going to help quite a bit. The big one that refused to change was Triple H with steroids and I’ve already fined him several times. I suspect a suspension is coming up next, so plan on getting the US belt off him next Raw (Plus I stuffed up the draft and that title’s meant to be decided by “coin flip”). I plan to be pretty heavy handed with anyone who refuses to quit drugs moving forward... I’ll make sure they don’t have any belts so I can suspend them/send to rehab next time they test positive.
  14. My angles are almost always six minutes, unless I get to the end of the show and have to cut time, then I cut the lesser workers’ angles down to five or four minutes until everything fits on the show. Same with matches, most matches are five to eight minutes, main event is usually twelve minutes or so. On PPV’s the good matches are 16 minutes so I can use the Slow Build note, other matches are 8 to 12 depending on who’s involved. It’s Sting and Undertaker, man. I assume Sting flew in from the roof to a tremendous applause and Undertaker straight up walked out and murdered somebody.
  15. So it's the first Raw after WrestleMania X8 and the landscape of the WWF is about to change forever! As there's never enough characters available to flesh out angles as much as I want, here are some of the cliff notes to explain my head canon: - At the start of the show, Vince comes out, rebrands from WWF to WWE and announces a new brand split. - He appoints his daughter Stephanie to take over the Smackdown brand, but in the interests of competition, he appoints his old foe Eric Bischoff to take the reins of Raw. - The major titles will be decided by a "coin flip", essentially the WWE Title and World Heavyweight, US & Intercontinental, both sets of Tag Titles and the Womens/Cruiserweight divisions will be on separate brands. - All other workers will be drafted as usual over the next few weeks. So without further ado, welcome to the first Monday Night Raw of the "brand split era"... I have to admit I've made a big mistake here, I forgot Triple H was the US Champion and he's been drafted to Raw already. He was supposed to be drafted as part of the coin flip for US vs Intercontinental titles, so that's something I'll have to rectify somehow in the near future.
  16. And almost two weeks later I’ve caught up entirely on the series and read the two episodes of season 2. And my god, this diary keeps getting better and better! Fantastic work, man... really looking forward to seeing where you take it from here.
  17. Fantastic work Fleisch, I’m really pumped to play some Attitude era WWF at the time period I love the most (Forlan’s 97 mod, while good, is just a little early for me) Agree with Jaysin though, real life always comes first. We can wait
  18. Inspired by Christmas Ape’s AMAZING diary (seriously, go read it if you haven’t already), I’ve decided to start up a new RAW save, I just love this company so much and it’s the only C’Verse one I play. So I thought I’d fire this thread back up at the same time. How has YOUR RAW save progressed? What have you done with it and what’s the most interesting things that have happened? I’ve played the first month of 2020 so far and here’s my high points: - my user character is Professor Avatar (the bald one with the beard) but renamed to “Rince Vusso” who’s currently running in as a Masked Man and attacking Swoop every show. He’s about to start his own faction once he reveals who he is, probably called TNA or S.E.X or something like that (if you know, you know). - Swoop faces Frogue for the TV Title next week after he beat Rahmel Goode and Luke Steele in a No 1 Contender match but got horribly beaten up in the process. - the Kerry Wayne and Will Beaumont vs the Wayne Brothers storyline took an interesting turn. After Kerry and Will beat the brothers in what was meant to be the “blowoff” match, they then won a four corners tag match for a shot at the tag titles, but Will Beaumont broke his arm during the match and is now out for three months. So Kerry still got his title shot the next week, but his brother Kian ran out to join the match and they won the titles! So now Kal will need to confront Kian about what he was possibly thinking, which will eventually lead to a Kian Wayne face turn. - After the Next Big Things rejoined for “One Night Only” to beat Tombstone and Monty Croft, they’ll both get a Quest Title shot next week on RAW. Nicky is going to win and Rod will turn heel in a jealous rage. This will start a long feud between the two ex partners. - George LiberTeen has poor chemistry being managed by Raymond Royce so the story is Raymond’s interference keeps costing him matches, which will lead to him splitting from the group and turning face. Not quite sure what to do with him then, might even release him. - Matty Wills has poor chemistry being managed by his sister Rose so going to have him turn heel because he hates Brodie flirting with Rose and then a feud between the two with Rose taking Brodie’s side and them becoming “official”. - Echo has poor momentum so he’s turning heel (he’s a better heel anyway). Storyline is he’s frustrated with losing so he starts to cheat. - the starting storyline between Nathan McKenzie and Monty Croft now has the RAW Giants involved beating up Big Mac. He’s hurt his arm now (botch by Skyscraper) and is injured for another 20 days (can still work, but needs to take it easy), so undecided how to play this one out. - Spin Doctor (manager of the Master Minds) just handed in his notice for no apparent reason, and because my roster is a bit bloated I’ve retired the Master Minds from active duty and they are becoming Road Agents only. Probably should work that into a story somehow. As I’m typing this is seems like the perfect opportunity for a “Loser Leaves Town” match to get a young team over, probably 3am Boys or JT Ice and Gladiator. - other notable storylines are Blake Belushi vs Loxley Robbins and Captain Wrestling II vs Maurice Jackson. Not much happening here besides standard feuds, the stories are intertwining a bit, they just tagged together heels vs faces on the last RAW which the heels won. The idea of both these storylines is to propel both heels to Main Event status and I just discovered they have Great tag team chemistry, so I sense a faction forming. Rince Vusso’s A.S.S. faction anyone??
  19. I generally use “storytelling” for the most throwaway match on the card, usually the one not connected to any actual storyline. In my head the storytelling aim is essentially saying the match itself is the storyline, there’s no big overarching one.
  20. This is fantastic work, Fleisch. I know the mod is driving you mad, but we’ve all been crying out for this time period to play. Thanks so much again for all your hard work on this.

  22. And here are the results for WrestleMania X8!! Following WrestleMania X8, WWF now has full control of the company and WCW ceases to exist
  23. I'll post the results for Mania soon, just arrived in the office so need to fire up the game and take some screenshots and upload. As for the mod... it's Genadi's "Death of WCW" which commences in May 2001, but I rolled it back to start in April 2001 (the night after WrestleMania X7) but made it so that Austin beat Rock clean and never did the whole heel turn/Two Man Power Trip thing. I wanted him to be a face in the upcoming war against WCW. I then played it in TEW2016 up until January 2002, before converting the save game to its own mod and then converted the mod to TEW2020. That then took a LOT of work to mainly get the personalities right, but it seems to be playing pretty well once I got the hard yards done. I've played the save in TEW2020 from January 2002 up until now (April 2002).
