  1. Thank you so much to Quest, John, and everybody who puts their time and effort into this project. Top stuff.
  2. Founding member of the nWo, Mirai. Mio Momono big Hart Foundation guy too. Thank you for your sensational work on this project. edit: just noticed the Diamond Egoist frame. Did they not just form yesterday?
  3. Thank you for the release and all of the hard work that made it happen!
  4. Agreed to both of those. I would also add in some angle time for Strong Puroresu, as NJPW featured quite a bit of angles and promos over the years, more so now but also in the '80s and definitely the '90 onwards. My suggestion is for something representing joshi pro-wrestling of the '80s and '90s. Stylistically it would be like the Fast & Furious product but with some larger than life characters that joshi often featured, such as Dump Matsumoto, Bull Nakano, and Akira Hokuto. A little bit more orientated towards entertainment and larger than life characters but not all the way. Blood wasn't featured often but it certainly didn't turn off viewers and added to the drama when it was used. Hair matches should carry extra weight, and overbooked matches shouldn't be penalized because they often featured weapons and some interference though nothing crazy. VICTORY THROUGH GUTS was AJW's motto and would be a very cool product name if that's allowed. Apologies if something like this was suggested earlier.
  5. That's the one. It's like the high school pretty boy jock vs. the ugly duckling dork underdog with the FANTASTIC Hakata Star Lane crowd pulling, as per the usual for them, the underdog like their lives depended on it. Sadly, there are a lot of UWF matches that involve a lot of laying around in the guard or even in a dominant position like mount (TAKADA!) but when done right there isn't much better than a great worked shoot match. Once MMA came to the forefront, particularly PRIDE, the need for a worked version of wrestling kind of died off and every promotion trying to resurrect U-Style has died a death. Even RINGS which started as a work eventually became a shoot (brother). If it's something like Big Mouth Loud in 2020, I'm all for it though there are not so many freelance legends these days and they need their Shibata to get beat up by them. Battlarts was cool because they combined worked shoot with stuff like lucharesu and it was awesome.
  6. U Style is worked MMA that pretty much led to real MMA, so it may not be your cup of tea. I love it, however. To see the heights of what it can be, I recommend checking out Masakatsu Funaki vs. Tatsuo Nakano from the second iteration of UWF.
  7. Historical venues would be amazing! Love that idea.
  8. <p><strong>Anti-Modern</strong>: This worker is outspoken about disliking the fast paced, high flying theatrics of modern wrestling and will not want to sign deals with companies that present a modern product.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Conspiracy Theorist</strong>: This worker can stir up drama in the locker room by spreading constant tales of flat earth, hollow moon, and other conspiracy theories.</p>
  9. Just want to thank you, Questlove, and the team for doing such an incredibly thorough job on attributes. They are pretty tricky to nail down quite so well and you've done that and more. It's easy to forget aspects of wrestlers when looking at the dropdown menus. Fantastic work!
  10. Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate the hard work gone into the mod.
  11. I can't think of a single memorable thing Michael Cole has ever done except for get bullied by Stone Cold. As somebody who has really disliked him from the get-go, that made even me uncomfortable.

Want to say thanks for all the work your putting into these mods Fleisch.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, Justtxyank's '91 and '92 mods were among my favourites and of an era that I find interesting because of the transition going on in so many different promotions and regions. Thanks so much for bringing '92 forward!</p>
  13. You love to see it. I can only imagine how big of a pain that must've been. Thanks for doing it.
  14. Great ideas, Arber. I would suggest "_85" and "_96" type suffixes just on the basis of people radically changing looks within decades and it being easier to find exactly which of the 20 Hogan_80s pics belongs with the '85 mod or what have you, but then not every picture's year is known, so it's not perfect.
  15. <p>Was thinking of how to best replicate somebody like Brock Lesnar who often has his best matches against significantly smaller opponents...</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Flat-Track Bully:</strong> This worker receives bonuses when wrestling against opponents at least two sizes smaller than they are.</p><p> </p><p> and the inverse:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>David-vs.-Goliath:</strong> This worker receives bonuses when wrestling against opponents at least two sizes larger than they are.</p><p> </p><p> Did a quick search of the thread but couldn't find anything about smaller opponents, so I apologize if this has been suggested earlier.</p>
  16. This is fantastic! Love a great location mod. Thank you!
  17. It's a nice middle ground because they are just gifs cropped with those interesting angles but still have the organic background so you get the best of both worlds, right? And it should not be too difficult to do either. What a fantastic little trick, super impressive! The backgrounds are dynamic, no?
  18. <p>That looks spectacular! Really gets me in the mid '90s vibe.</p><p> </p><p> Edit: Not sure if this was from BH's data or not, but didn't Liger just book the juniors and Choshu was the head booker during this period? He was the one who booked and negotiated the UWFi feud and was later criticized for how he treated Liger and the juniors having them always get smashed by heavyweights.</p>
  19. <p>I am adoring a lot of the new game now that real life mods are starting to release. As much as I try, the C-verse just isn't for me. </p><p> </p><p> Most of the new features are already clearly present and having a strong positive impact. Attributes are an absolute game changer and I love the gimmick system. I also really like the ratings being a bit less predictable than they used to be in terms of people having off nights and money promos not always being in the >95% range.</p><p> </p><p> There are things I hope get a look at before patching becomes almost entirely bug squashing and I think all of my current gripes have been brought up numerous times:</p><p> I really hope we can eventually click and drag matches and angles around in the show order or there are bigger buttons included because it's very frustrating as is.</p><p> </p><p> Japanese and Mexican companies tying down foreign stars to long term exclusive written deals. Touring contracts returning and/or adding in hiring rules to address this would help a lot. </p><p> </p><p> Show and match grades being so small. </p><p> </p><p> Skills on bio pages not being organized into their groups. </p><p> </p><p> Nothing game breaking and the return of the mouse wheel and keyboard in road agent notes was a game-changer for me no joke. I LOVE the different eras having unique homepages as I do the return of non wrestling tv shows. Helps with immersion an awful lot. I haven't really touched the editor so maybe some of the complaints raised about it would throw me off too but I've yet to feel that pain.</p>
  20. December '96 is when Fighting TV Samurai launched and I know AJPW shortly signed a deal with them and that's where we see a lot of the full matches that are around today (well that and Classics as well as commercial tapes). I don't have access to the giant book of Jeff Lynch but I'm just about positive NJPW was also on Samurai early on. But yeah, that's not until December. I think during this time it was just the clip shows and commercial tapes.
  21. Okay, so I fired this up running it as Flair in charge of WCW and gave Herd a swift kick out the door. Signed up a bunch of upper card free agents that make sense but the roster is already fun as is. Then WWF pulls a dirty trick on me claiming WCW is backed by an evil cult, haha. Nice. I'll remember that when Savage's contract is up in a bit here. I do have Sullivan. Maybe he can head up a Heaven's Gate type cult with weirdos like Sabu and Cactus. I'll lean into it. Having a blast so far! Thank you for your hard work on this! You're working with a helluva base to start with but I can only imagine how much work goes into converting and fine tuning. Game world looks great so far. NJPW went on a bit of a spree signing up five or six foreigners on 2 year deals like Eddie, Stan Lane, and Mark Rocco. Hopefully a future patch gives us something like touring contracts to avoid such situations.
  22. I am excited for this, as it seems super promising, and I really think the google docs system is brilliant. Best of luck and thank you for the work!
  23. Tremendous work here, ropacm. Thank you so much. I totally forgot this was a feature until I saw it included in the '91 mod. It really helps make the game world feel alive and part of its time if using historical mods.
  24. It's neat we'll have options for '91. The more the merrier, so thanks for taking this on. I love justtxyank's mods to bits. Quick note: I recommend looking at Jumbo Tsuruta's attributes. He was loyal to AJPW and had no problem putting over Misawa when the time was right in '90, so I don't think mercenary works for him. In fact, I think I recently read that both he and Hansen roughed up Tenryu when they found out he was leaving the company. I was going to say "Professional" would be better but perhaps "Stalwart" along with "Loyal"? And while he spent a huge part of his career as a babyface, when Tenryu left in '90, Jumbo was the defacto heel of sorts in the resulting Misawa/Jumbo feud. He could play cranky vet really, really well and I would say that feud was his career's best work and that's saying something. Right now he's got the 100% babyface attribute (probably a holdover from the conversion) when he could play a heel very, very well. I'd also get rid of "can't play dominant" attribute because he was excellent as the dominating cranky vet legend by this point of his career. Hmmm, looking around more, yeah, it looks like the mercenary attribute is a conversion thing. Jerry Lawler I would add "straight edge" because he was a notorious teetotaler. Age is not a number and wrestling in the blood probably make sense for him too.
