1. It sucks for Batista, but I guess that's what happens when 95% of the audience boo your big return. He's had altercations with fans since and has just generally acted extremely childish over the audience's negative reaction towards him. Him tapping out to Daniel Bryan does not redeem him in my eyes, when a professional wrestler is told to do the job, he goes out in front of those fans and he does it. Now if Batista specifically asked to be the fall guy because he wanted to put Bryan over, then that's a different story but if I'm judging the recent dirt sheet reports, it certainly seems like he's got his tail between his legs and he's gonna skulk off in a huff because he didn't get what he wanted.
  2.
I thought Bobby Roode vs Eric Young would have been a great Slammiversary main event.

They could have talked about Team Canada and how both have been in TNA for so long and how both have climbed to the pinnacle of the promotion and how much they respect each other but then they could talk about the different paths both have taken to get to the top - Eric Young doing everything by the book, earning the fan's trust, earning his opportunity and then finally grabbing the brass ring. Bobby Roode by smashing his best friend and tag partner with a beer bottle to win the belt and then how he's been corrupted by success and his own ego. It would have been a fantastic storyline, a great match, a great spectacle and it would have been fitting of the Slammiversary legacy by having two TNA originals go head-to-head for the promotion's most prestigious championship. I'd certainly be more interested in that than what their current plan is.

  3.
ECW World Television Championship Match

Rob Van Dam vs. Juventud Guerrera

    ECW Lioness Championship Match

    Alexis vs. Nathalie

The Briscoe Boys vs. Nate Hatred

    Shawn Michaels vs. CM Punk

    Vito Thomaselli vs. Rhino

  4.
I would say that Sheamus responding to it would mean that it's probably false. If I got beat up by somebody smaller than me backstage, I wouldn't go out of my way to comment on it.

http://www.cagesideseats.com/2014/5/2/5660234/damn-cameras

Anyone else agree with this article? The first time I really noticed the use of chaotic camera work was when the Shield debuted. Lately it seems to have progressed from being a stylistic choice to poor decision making from the director(s). Extreme Rules was poor at times. It's not so bad that I hate it but sometimes they just need to keep the camera still and let the action unfold.

I think it's to hide just how much WWE's wrestlers protect each other. If they didn't shift the cameras, you'd probably see how much Sheamus misses the Brogue Kick and stuff like that.

I'm not sure what happened there...

- Taguchi needs a new finisher IMO. Every time he goes for the Dodon, they counter it into a victory roll every single time. However, I did like the later spot where he blocked the roll-up attempt and slammed Ibushi down on his back, I hope he does that more often.

In terms of the New Japan dojo, I read a quote from Meltzer that reported Tanahashi being unhappy with just how far behind New Japan are compared to WWE in terms of homegrown talent. They can learn a lot from the WWE Performance Center.

It might not be optimal, but to call it "really really really stupid" is a little overreacting. "Big E" lies better on the tongue and - quite frankly - so does Cesaro, even though "Antonio Cesaro" (with the triple O) is well-designed.

I think it's that stupid but it just does not work for the people they have assigned it to. I liked it with Goldberg because his first name was Bill, and in the person's mind, his first name was largely an afterthought. But in the case of Cesaro, Big E and Rusev, you have three guys with interesting full names. Plus it just sounds awkward when Lilian Garcia announces their name. Each to their own, but I really don't like it.

How long before Adam Rose is just Rose or Bo Dallas is just Bo?

I agree. It's really, really, really stupid.

  8.

I personally thought he looked great in his matches with Devitt in the Feb shows and at the April PPV, he just didn't seem to click in this one

Yeah you're right, I'll re-watch the match today and see if it was just awkward chemistry or an off day.

Anyone else reckon NJPW needs to nick as many juniors from TNA/America as possible? Bad Influence, Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin, Kendrick & London, anyone they can pick up that ROH doesn't have on lock down.

I agree and disagree. I agree that they need to freshen up their Junior division (Kendrick wrestled for New Japan last year) and if that means bringing the likes of Daniels & Kazarian then I'm all for it. I disagree because I think it's important that New Japan push homegrown talent and full-timers, I don't want to see a Junior division totally dominated by foreign imports.

  9. Taguchi was out injured for 7 months last year, he only returned in February so it'll take some time for him to shake the ring rust. I thought the entire show was good but the tepid crowd did it absolutely no favours - they were hotter for Komatsu's offence than anybody else's! Homna vs Ishii was match of the night, they beat the heck out of each other and I wouldn't be surprised if Homna has a concussion after all those diving headbutts. Okada vs Styles was really hurt by it seeming like an ordinary Okada title defence until the finish. No great finisher sequence, no prolonged back and forth counters and I didn't like the finish. Yujiro in Bullet Club is just... odd.

  11.
I have no shame in admitting that I didn't think any of that was going to happen, that was a very good PPV and an effective way of using swerves. I'm surprised Juvi vs Ultimo Dragon didn't get a better match rating, but then again I'm sure neither are that over and your product probably rates more on popularity than performance.

Considering you toy with gimmicks a lot, I'm thinking Dustin will become a lone wolf, go round the bend and start painting himself gold. He could even form a stable of weirdos and outcasts, just make sure it's better than the Dungeon Of Doom. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
