  2. Bullrope Match for the CGC Television Title: Alex DeColt vs Dan DaLay

Does Alex need the TV title, no, but this just seems destined for Alex to win. unless there's interference. I could see this setting up an Elimination match, but that's not included in the PPV schedule now, so I'll just give Alex the win, though I'm very excited to see you write this and what spots you come up with
Frankie Flame & Rash Reilly vs Eddie Chandler & Johnny Maverick

I struggle to see Eddie and Johnny co-exist at this point
    Wolfgang Zimmerman vs Howling Dog

Zimmerman is definitely a future star in the company if you want to go that way. Dog should win now though

... plus Whipper Spencer Marks announces the first match for In the Company of Legends.

Steve DeColt v Barry Bowen - First Blood Match?

  3. Grudge Match:
Jonathan Faust, Aldous Blackfriar, UK Dragon & ???? [vs] Grave Digger & The Black Hats

The Black hats are just masked jobbers

    21CW UK Championship Match:
‘The Russian Bear’ Viktor Beskov (c) [vs] ‘The Breeze’ Joey Beauchamp

A late career resurgence for Beauchamp allows him to have a final run with a belt and for Beskov to move up the ladder

    Grudge Match:
Absolutely Flawless [vs] Rolling Johnny Stones & Luke Cool

I just don't think Cool and Stones have much of a future

    Grudge Match:
‘The Squashasaurus’ Roly Muckletruck [vs] Beast Bantom

Bantom is a guy who could be the guy in the company, Roly is a star but that his limit

    Streets Of London Street Fight:
Joss Thompson & Leo Price [vs] Mark Adonis & Edward Cornell

Leo Price is probably past it to really help Thompson beat Eddie and Adonis

    21CW World Championship Match:
Apollo Prince (c) [vs] Clifford Wilson

Wilson is here to solidify Prince.

    BONUS QUESTIONS:

1). Who is the fourth partner in the team to take on Grave Digger & The Black Hats…? Adam Matravers

2). Which match will be the Match of the Night…? Joss Thompson & Leo Price [vs] Mark Adonis & Edward Cornell

3). What will the Overall Rating of the show be (within 5, one point, spot on two points)…? 70

That's something I thought about doing a little while ago. Either a reformatting or perhaps a full remastering, with all new AI art and some minor tweaks to the writing. I actually thought the entire project was lost when the forums underwent some changes and only found it again quite recently. I've been meaning to find a way to simply and quickly back it up to a PDF file, like I've done with my other projects. Just in case of another forum disaster. Losing the project really bummed me out for a while.

If you've done any work to make it readable, I have no issues with you releasing that. I have my hands full right now as it is.

I probably wouldn't release anything until it's fully done.

I can send it onto you if you'd like to see it and you can let me know if you are happy with it.

Like the soothsayer? I remember a cgc diary with a soothsayer as the big bad and the DeColts and stu Grayson going back in time thanks to a superkick. It was pretty wild.

Same writer. Self wrote that also.

I tend to reread older diaries when I go on holidays and that's one of my favourites.

Most of the old diaries on the forums have horrific formatting and code issues making them very tough to read. I had started to reformat that diary (Soothsayer v DeColts. It's called CGC: On with the Show) just for myself mostly. I could release it when it was finished if Self was okay with that. I think I have up to August or September year one complete. Was gonna do a few older ones that I consistently return to as well.

  6. Leo Price & Joss Thompson [vs] Luke Cool & Rolling Johnny Stones w/ The House of Hell

Smithie and Misery w/ Emmett Askey [vs] The Bern Boys w/ The Professor

Absolutely Flawless [vs] Vinny Vigilante and Evan Alpass

Aldous Blackfriar w/ Jonathan Faust [vs] J-B Cash

Viktor Beskov & Joey Beauchamp [vs] BW Eddie & Antithesis

‘The Squashasaurus’ Roly Muckletruck [vs] ‘All Business’ Edward Cornell w/ The House of Hell

  7. Aurelian Bradley & Welsh Dragon [vs] Kelvin Badberry & Edison Silva w/ Phil Harmonic

Michael X w/ Joe Simpson [vs] Dangermouth w/ The Booth

Kevin Jones and Jeremy Allen [vs] The Northern Lights

‘Sensational’ Ricky Storm w/ Sifu [vs] Cousin Konrad w/ The Lee FamiLee

‘Jilted’ Loxley Robbins [vs] Lone Wolf

‘Rough Justice’ Tommy Cornell [vs] ‘The Barcelona Bull’ Buff Martinez

  8. ‘The Anarchist’ Antithesis

    Squash

    Walker Van Cleer

    WVC will continue the rise

    ‘Captain Crash’ Cain Carlisle

Unless this is a big debut, Cain needs to win this

The Bern Boys w/ The Professor

    Toss up

    Chuck Frisby & Gulliver

    Another toss up

Apollo Prince, Clifford Wilson & ???

JB seems to be weak link in Eddie's armour in this match. It's very dependant on who Mr squiggles is though.

United have had a better year but that's down to Eddie being a great starting champ. Having to establish Kingdom's main event hurt to begin with allowing United to start at a much higher point. That being said it's a lot closer now, still United are the better brand.

  9. I'd have won that contest if I didn't miss Wicked.... Just sayin' 😛

‘The Master of Old School’ Aurelian Bradley w/ Welsh Dragon [vs] ‘Cowboy’ Buck Winchester w/ The Booth

Buck has actually been a really good addition to the roster despite my reservations

Loxley Robbins & Daniel Black Francis [vs] ???? & ????

Is this against local talents? I dunno and Robbins and DBF (and he had the National belt until recently) have been fairly irrelevant so far, you usually have 4 ?'s for Local lads so I'll give it to LR and DBF but I just can't see them beating anybody else

EDIT: I just realised, I was thinking of Rolling Johnny Stones not Loxley Robbins. Oh yeah, Loxley will definitely win this

‘The Real Angel of the North’ Nate Manchester [vs] ‘The King of the Cruiserweights’ Phil Harmonic w/ Badberry & Silva

Ooooh tough. Manchester has been fun but Harmonic has back up so I'll give it to him.

Jeremy Allen w/ Kevin Jones [vs] War Machine w/ Cliff King

How far Kevin Jones has fallen sickens me. I blame Allen (even though I love Monkey Business) so War Machine destroy him.

‘The Furious Bi-Curious’ Alfonso D’Angelo [vs] Stevie ‘Smasher’ Stoat

Stoat has done nothing but job, D'Angelo has been quite good, so he gets it

Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu [vs] Wade Orson & Landon Mallory

I am all for tag teams beating put together individuals but Orson has the big belt and neither of CSHS should be challenging him for the belt so he can't really lose here without looking weak and Orson needs to be built more as a threat. Also Mallory and Burton beat CSHS at Wicked and Sifu lost last week. They've kinda lost their chance. This could go the direction of Mallory and Orson can't co-exist and that'd be okay but Orson already looks vulnerable to me, the FamiLee are all over his underlings, Tommy Cornell knows he has his number. Orson has to win. Of course, that begs the question of if CSHS do lose, where do they go? Three big losses consecutively? That might just end them. Lots to think about but I... I just can't see Orson losing this.

  10. CGC Tag Team Title Match: The Flock vs Soldiers of Fortune

SoF need more feuds before dropping them
    Rocky Psycho vs Howling Dog

Feels like Rocky's hot temper will cost him over and over again against Dog
    Condor vs Mario Heroic

Condor is an asshat. Heroic has at least got something to him.

I'm running out of ideas for Frenchie's Five segments. Any ideas?

I'd love to see more about CGC history to this point. House show concepts that become PPV events (Ultimate showdown series, Elimination, Luck of the draw.). Popularity contests (who's the most over, most hated), most wins, most matches, best brawlers, best technicians, best highfliers, most charismatic, best performers, biggest draw, most beautiful (anything to tick Helen Wheels off more), most pies eaten.

Could Rash Reilly get bigger like MW? Is he a viable future star in the company?

  11. ‘His Satanic Majesty’ Aldous Blackfriar [vs] Luke Cool

Luke Cool has been someone whose kinda fallen into the background in the diary. I know he's in the House of Business but other than like Eddie, Mark Adonis and Beast Bantom the rest fade into the background

‘Captain Crash’ Cain Carlisle [vs] BW Eddie

I flipped a coin.... No seriously

Walker Van Cleer [vs] Gulliver w/ Chuck Frisby

Gulliver isn't the talent of Van Cleer but has been an ever present with Chuck so he can lose here without really losing any standing with the fans

Kenobi High w/ The Padawans [vs] Misery & Smithie w/ Emmett Askey

I like Mark Misery a lot and tend to push him when I use him but Kenobi High are the best and that's all I need to say

‘The Bear’ Viktor Beskov [vs] Beast Bantom

There is not many guys I would say Beskov loses to, Bantom is one

Apollo Prince & Clifford Wilson [vs] Edward Cornell & Mark Adonis w/ The House of Business

Cliff and Prince ain't going to be on the same page while Cornell and Adonis will have some semblance of a plan

:D Ha! If Tommy loses, you riot!?

Haha, I wasn't at that level yet but Tommy is one of my faves here. He's old but we all know he can still go. Harmonic is an excellent talent to grow in 21CW. A guy who could be your Dolph Ziggler in the future. A guy who can fill in anywhere. Main event feud, you betcha, PPV opener, works too, episodic villain for a babyface to conquer that episode, perfect. He's versatile and still very very young

  12. Cousin Konrad w/ The Lee FamiLee [vs] ‘The Quiet One’ Sifu w/ Ricky Storm

The Lee FamiLee should be dominant for a bit while the storyline shapes up

‘The Irish Stretching Machine’ Merle O’Curle [vs] Lone Wolf

Gotta go against my love for Merle O Curle but hey

‘The Real Angel of the North’ Nate Manchester [vs] War Machine w/ Cliff King

    Should be a squash

Andrew Lee w/ The Lee FamiLee [vs] ‘Sensational’ Ricky Storm w/ Sifu

Andrew should be aiming for the big title

The Underdogs [vs] The Booth w/ DJ Reason & Buck Winchester

Underdogs have never been relevant in the save

‘Rough Justice’ Tommy Cornell [vs] ‘The King of the Cruiserweights’ Phil Harmonic w/ Silva & Badberry

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAAHHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHA Oh... you're serious. Okay well if Tommy Cornell loses I'd be both angry and shocked, let's hope that doesn't happen

  13. CGC World TItle: Ed Monton vs Steve DeColt

This is gonna end in some kind of School of Tradition/Roger Rogers type shenanigans but Steve will keep the belt
Land Mass & Mammoth vs Eddie Chandler & Johnny Maverick

This is likely wrong but O care more about Maverick and Chandler than Wheels' men. Did enjoy her bubbleweight win though
    Dirty Frank vs Xander Robinson

Xander is better, but Frank has more going on after his addition to the SoT

I'm always second guessing my finishes, but this was the only version of the match I wrote and I made the firm decision to stick with it after the incident. No rewrites. No big changes in direction. Narratively there was meat on the bone of a more ambiguous finish, or a Tyler victory, but from a business perspective I think this is the way to go.

However, in the early days of the project this wasn't the plan for WrestleFestival at all. Originally Jack was going to beat Steve for the title on TV (as in canon!) and this would have been a hastily put together four way, with Bowen thrown in. The match itself was fun to write (might recycle somewhere) but nothing else about it felt right. Rushed build. Not a good main event for a marquee. I tried to jam too many plot points into too short a length of time (three months isn't as long as it looks in a spreadsheet) but wrestling needs time to sit and breathe and stretch. Not swerves for swerves sake.

But that had nothing to do with Tyler. When I made that change he was still a model employee.

I don't think it was as rushed as you think it was. I think you set things up well. The Jack element in the middle made it interesting. You say it wasn't good enough for a marquee event but what was the alternative? Tyler/Steve or Bowen/Steve were your best options unless you built a new threat and 3 months.

I think you've set it up now that you kinda have a blank slate now. There is a small sense of there being an Eric Tyler shaped hole in the middle of the show now but is he gone now? I don't know. However, I'm excited to see.

Cornell etc. - You asked, so here's a run down of the top of the card... Lots of 'Major Stars', but that doesn't necessarily mean ready to challenge Orson. Loxley is so over, he's had some big wins, but had terrible chemistry with Cornell, so I had to turn him face to avoid them having a major feud. They pulled a 64 in their two matches so far which is very poor.

    image.jpeg

This is taken straight from my spreadsheet, with one spoiler/turn removed and also one babyface debut on Kingdom removed... He's kind of a big deal.

They're the 'Major Stars' on each brand, so you see I have plenty to choose from. Lox/Blake's feud will run for a while... but there's options there for both Buff and Tommy.

On United, Roly/Beast are tied together... Faust is teaming with Aldous which is helping them both massively, Adam is out injured too, so he's due back soon. Edward, Adonis and Grave Digger are all in the new 'HOUSE OF HELL' stable, but there's plenty of stories to tell there too.

I've just written September Week 1 (Wicked was July week 3), so I'm quite far ahead... I'm planning a 'draft' at the end of September to shake things up too...

I think this proves my stance that United is a stronger brand. I think Roly and Koller (and maybe Beskov) switching brands could really help them become bigger deals. Cooper heading over there as well makes sense just to mix up the main event scene. Koller v Orson sounds really fun. Roly v War Machine, that just sound like a beefy brawl for the ages. So glad to see a draft is in the works. I do think there should be protected workers on both brands (workers that can't be poached via the draft.)

  16. Rocky Golden vs John Greed

Rocky is like the best candidate for champion. You know like when Stone Cold always said he preferred to be the hunter instead of the hunted, Golden is like the best man to be hunted. Ala Jack Bruce circa 2009 in the Man Under Pressure storyline

    Bear Bekowski vs Steven Parker

Bear has promise but Parker could be a star if SWF used him properly. Maybe you could make him into the star he deserves to be

    Brett Biggins vs The Crippler

Brett should just go to TCW. Crippler is old but can still contribute. I'd love a Lobster Warrior return in the twilight of his career

Fame & Money (Monty Trescarde & Paul Huntingdon) vs The Rock City Stars (Rockin' Ryan Turner & Stan Manna)

I'm not a big fan of the tag team scene in SWF. This isn't DAVE 2005. I'll give it to Fame and Money

Jungle Lord and Faith & Old Glory (Matty Faith & Masked Patriot) vs Unleashed Awesomeness (Randy Unleashed, Jefferson Stardust and Huey Cannonball)

The Awesomeness need to break away from Randy, they could be mega stars

    Main Event:

    Mikey Lau vs Scythe

My Anti Mikey Lau rant a few shows ago should explain this

  17. God damn I missed the predictions. I was sure I put them in.

Anyway, going back to the previous show, Cliff Wilson needs to bring the face paint out for the big match up. I'd mark out. Apollo v Angel I'm here for it.

    Anyway, Wicked analysis, let's go.

I loved the graphics a lot. Really nice job on that.

The Lee's versus Burton/Mallory should be a very good match. I like the feud that's beginning between the FamiLee and all the champs, more on that later.

The fact Bedlam brought War Machine to seven in this series is a pretty big deal. War Machine is like one of the best dudes to push to the top and Bedlam took him the distance. Maybe Bedlam could be just below that main event level, though I never saw him get there. Obviously the injury made the difference so maybe you see him as Machine's equal.

Stoat was always gonna put Konrad over. Wonder how both men performed a 62 is better than I expected. Where Konrad goes, I'm not sure but it seems he's gonna help his FamiLee members in their pursuit of...

Mallory and Burton winning makes sense. Little bit underwhelming performance from the match but hey. There's a real rivalry going with the three champs and the FamiLee. I like that. The issue, the champs are lacking in numbers. I still dig it.

Buck winning in the grudge match was not what I expected. Alfonso is quite excellent from the beginning. He needs experience but he's really good. Buck is a blow in and I get The Booth are a big deal, as they should be but Alfonso is a guy I could see be a poor man's Adam Matravers, which sounds like an insult but is such a huge compliment. Excellent all rounder, able to have feuds with the stars and have a run or two with the big belt for transition periods. Buck and The Booth could move up another bit now. Who's next for them? I don't know. I think they should separate from Alfonso now and do something else.

Little disappointed that Tommy didn't win the belt. He's probably the most interesting guy on Kingdom. Buff is kind of hurt by Tommy. Orson and his crew are good but Tommy is Tommy and I'd feel it'd be better if he wasn't here. I've talked about this before but the brand split really shows 21CW's lack of mega stars. Tommy, Eddie and Matravers but Matravers has done nothing in a bit. Tommy is vying for the world title on Kingdom and Eddie is a big part of United and is vying for the belt over there. You give us updates on the roster but I'd love to see the perception each guy is at, just to see. Like outside of Tommy (and maybe Buff, depending on your stance on him) who's there to challenge Orson. I had Landon Mallory down originally but he's by his side now. Robbins maybe but he's busy. I'm looking forward to seeing it because it is so open, but Buff needs to move onto somebody else (The Booth maybe). Tommy needs to either win the belt (which I think would be the best as there are so many great heels ready to challenge a face champ) or move onto someone else as well.

    Exciting times ahead.

  18. CGC Bubbleweight Title: Canadian Dragon vs Condor vs Jake Sloan vs Mario Heroic vs Tempest Appleby

It's either Sloan or Heroic but Sloan could carry the division
    Rocky Psycho vs Howling Dog

Psycho is on the rise. Pity about Steve Flash but hey, Psycho ain't too bad
Soldiers of Fortune & Dan DaLay vs Steve, Alex & Jack DeColt

I'd have had a much more difficult time picking if Tyler was here but Dan and the Soldiers ain't the same but there should be some drama with Steve and Jack maybe

Lotta fun with WF. Bowen/Dog, Jones/Monton and Steve/Tyler really being the only "serious" parts of the show. McClean in the hazmat was probably my fave part outside the main event.

  19. Angry Gilmore & Robbie Retro vs Atom Smasher & Des Davids

Retro is the odd man out here

    Oliver Kobb vs Zeus Maxmillion

Big Zeus fan but at 42 he's well past it

Demolition (Avalanche & Primus Allen) vs The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon & Ranger)

Allen deserves more than being a tag guy

    Charger Siaki vs Rogue

    Squash

Main Event: SWF World Heavyweight Title Shot Match

    Brandon James vs Valiant

    Seems like the only outcome

(BONUS) Which match will have the highest rating? Opener

Speed can depend on the time of day.  I usually had my best boost-free results when I'd first wake up (UK time) and would generate a bunch of images as i got ready for work. Seemed like low traffic.

Other times i generate as i write. Click the button, work on a couple of sentences, check to see if it's done. Repeat. Boosts are a happy bonus, but the bulk of my work was done without them.

I've never had slow results (a minute or two being the max) and I've done them at all times of the day. I do generally go off doing something else to just pass the time so maybe I just don't feel it being that long but I check at regular intervals and it's usually the first time I check (maybe solidifying the addage that a watched pot never boils). Maybe it's a variety of things that attribute to slowdown country, server, traffic etc but I've never had an issue with the method I've used.
