  1. Is there a way to determine when and how many new workers are created by the database because I looked and could not find the option. I'm currently attempting to fast forward a database to 10 years in the future so this might be important.
  2. One thing that is really bugging me about this game is how difficult it is to get unimportant workers 'off the bricks' and into relevancy. in 2016 you could get openers/jobbers to 30 something pop just by having them on TV on a national company. In 2020 it seems to only go to 15-20. You can't have them wrestle other unimportant talent because it will utterly destroy the match rating. You can't have them go over recognizable stars because they'll throw a fit and even if you go through with it the recognizable talent will probably lose more pop than the other guy will gain. It seems extremely difficult to push them without using the buddy system, and even then they just get overshadowed in every segment if their buddy is too popular. And furthermore it's not even true to life. Pushes like Kane or Bray Wyatt are right out. Feuds like Brandon Cutler/Peter Avalon are impossible. The Young Lions cup would be a disaster. I know sometimes game mechanics don't always match up with real life and having a guy storm out with like 65 starting pop would be unbalanced but there should have been some kind of concession here. Like B shows removing the 'two wrestlers the crowd doesn't care about' penalty in exchange for giving well known and above workers a penalty for 'slumming it' or something. The change I really do like in 2020 is that veteran wrestlers don't immediately become useless the second they hit decline. The gimmick system is a great improvement too.
  3. <p>How is having a worker train at a dojo/performance center different than having them in developmental?</p><p> </p><p> Also; is there any way to tell when a worker has hit the point where developmental/PC won't help them anymore?</p>
  4. How do I turn people with an angle without a gimmick change? I thought it was a bug that I couldn't just click 'handle turns' but there's apparently an attached road agent note but I don't know how to implement it. Edit; Nevermind I just saw the 'road agent notes' in the UI.
  5. How do I switch a wrestler's alter ego? The only alter ego option I see lets me see a worker's alter ego but not change it.
  6. Is there an easy way to release everybody from their contracts via the database?
  7. Ok there were a lot of notes for TEW 2020 but one thing I didn't see that made me sad is that I didn't see anything in regard to expanded any kind of expanded creative meeting function. I always want to see the talent reports on all my young talent but I have to constantly mess with pushes to do so. Did I miss something?
  8. <p>Ugh! Hogan just won his stupid lawsuit and sunk me for 6.4 million.</p><p> Which sets back my long term goal of creating a global broadcaster back several months. </p><p> Is there an option where I can have him killed? Sick of that selfish, greedy pile of human garbage winning out in the end.</p><p> (Only profession in the world where you can get reprimanded for starting fights 4 times inside of 3 months and win a wrongful termination lawsuit)</p>
  9. <p>Guys I did it.</p><p> I fired Hogan.</p><p> he threw a punch of Orndorf, Orndorf beat him up. Then I decided I was sick of his nonsense.</p><p> He's gone. I'm 200k/mo richer and well, I was going to lose the national battles anyway.</p><p> Edit: OR NOT! He filed suit against me despite firing him for starting a fight when it was his 4th offense in < 3 months.</p>

  11. Reasons I can think of to do this. 1) Potentially split up a clique (I don't know if this actually works) 2) Goad two workers you don't like into fighting each other so you have an excuse to fire one of them. 3) Given how infrequently that command works, do it in hopes you mess up and they become friends (i also don't know if this actually works)
  12. I have no love for the older guys either. I was willing to languish in Cult for awhile but everything stabilized earlier than anticipated and I found myself almost at International level in the US by the time I was eligible to return to National. If things are going well there is less impetus to blow things up and start over. Outright releasing Hogan and Nash wouldn't take their contracts off the books. Unfortunately I didn't fire them for disciplinary issues when I've had the chance. On the plus side I've already shed Piper and Savage, and as of today (in-game) Hall is off my books. So isn't Bam Bam, who was making 40k/mo for some reason. And Luger is coming out of Rehab in 2 weeks. I don't anticipate him coming out sober. The big problem I face is the National Battles. We're in 2000. That's basically the twilight of the true Superstars. Every worker with 90+ star power in the game is probably already active in the game world and they're either A) Too old to invest in or B) Already locked up by the WWF. That just leaves trying to steal the WWF's top guys. This means I have to maintain my national status or they won't negotiate with me. I've already missed out on Austin doing this. I've never been on the wrong side of a National Battle beatdown before so I don't know how debilitating it is. Or if it gets worse the larger the gap is. On the plus side. When I moved The Radicalz to WWF before the game started I set their contacts to random. Apparently 'random' means '7 1/2 months' for Saturn and Eddy. So I'm in a bidding war for them. At the same time WWF is fighting me for Booker T. I'm going to win all of these.

Luger and Hall were each good for all of 1 match before I shipped them off. Hall and Bam Bam's contracts will be up before they get out, they will not be coming back. Luckily nobody has tested hot in a month. Luger's coming back in a month. He tests hot again I will be more than happy to use it as an excuse to get his contract off my books.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hashasheen" data-cite="Hashasheen" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Dude, the level of miserableness in your roster is impressive. I'd almost just fire everyone who mouthed off and start over with newer wrestlers.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Actually as of right now the only problem workers I have in the locker are Hogan, Nash and Sid. My locker room morale rallied after a month of no incidents, a few stealth vacations, and Bobby Heenan setting a few other trouble makers straight in wrestlers court. So things are alright.</p><p> </p><p> I would love to get rid of Nash and Hogan, but here's the problem with that.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://imgur.com/gaY5nHn" rel="external nofollow">https://imgur.com/gaY5nHn</a></p><p> </p><p> (if you can't click the image, Steve Austin has just returned and consequently I'm losing the national battles by a score of 4368-4203)</p><p> </p><p> I can't really replace Nash and Hogan's star power. Losing either one of them would significantly widen the gap here, by at least 100 points each I figure. Then again, I'm perfectly capable of losing the national battle with or without them.</p><p> </p><p> And I can't just release them. Their contracts are ridiculous (150k/mo for Nash and 200k/mo for Hogan). I had a golden opportunity to dump them but I played the velvet glove out of fear of losing almost 1/3rd of my main event scene.</p><p> </p><p> I have the 'next generation' of main eventers in the wings but they're not quite there yet (68-75 pop for them as opposed to the 85-92 I get out of Nash/Hogan). And also one of them is Jeff Jarrett and having watched a bunch of old 2000's Nitros I can say that Jarrett is a candidate for the single worst thing about the monday night wars. I'd have buried him in-game, but he's actually useful statistically. Of course I'd feed Nash and Hogan to these guys but creative control makes that difficult.</p>
  15. I didn't give them any time. That was all the AI. I'm playing WCW. Rock had a psych of 90 and 96 pop. Foley was 82 psych and 85 pop.

The 100* match happened on the first Raw of the game. Your guess is as good as mine really.</p>
  17. <p>Alright. Just hit the 6 month line in my WCW 2000 mod.</p><p> Things have stabilized, mostly.</p><p> </p><p> Locker room morale is good. Or at least it was good before I started drug testing. Bam Bam and Buff got busted and sent to rehab. Bam Bam's contract is coming up, but he's in the early stages of decline so I'm cutting him loose. Bryan Adams and Paul Orndorf got busted for steroids. I reprimanded them but doubt it will help. I've decided to stop testing steroids for now. Lodi and Kanyon came back from rehab, but took morale down a notch when they both wrestled noticeably impaired. I sent Kanyon back to rehab and released Lodi. Unfair maybe. But Kanyon is just more useful (also now he's loyal to me). I went as far as to resign Kanyon while he's in rehab for 9 months, but if he wrestles hot again he's done.</p><p> </p><p> Hulk Hogan took Johnny the Bull under his wing. This was a bad thing as Johnny the Bull became a negative influence backstage. I didn't renew his contract because really, it's Johnny the Bull. Hulk is upset because he's the guy I put against Kanyon is an ill-advised attempt to drive Hogan to ask for his release by driving his morale down. Unfortunately Hogan is still an asset in the short term. So now he's upset and trying to pay him off is really difficult because his contract is so valuable normal bonuses don't even register to him.</p><p> </p><p> Nash decided to try starting rumors against Regal. I fined him for it. He's mad at me now. I don't care. I already had to cut the Armstrongs loose because of hm.</p><p> </p><p> Sid is on vacation (again) because his morale is shot, he's implacable because he gets a morale ding almost every show because he feels isolated in the locker room and thanks to Ric Flair he has negative relationships with 7 workers backstage.</p><p> </p><p> The WWF is still miles ahead of me in terms of popularity. Not only that but when I rise to national again I am in serious danger of getting my momentum crushed on account of Rock/Austin's nigh perfect national battle scores. I haven't been able to sign any talent away from them yet. I had my chance with Rikishi and Kane, but I didn't really want Rikishi or Kane. The good news is in my 6 month cult exile I've improved significantly and until Austin returns from his injury I'm actually winning the national battles. Unfortunately my young guys simply lack the star quality to compete with Austin/Rock's star quality. (Goldberg is 89 Star Quality if you're wondering). In order to eventually overtake the WWF I'm simply going to have to steal the Rock.</p><p> </p><p> Despite the WWF being more popular I still have the show of the half year.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://imgur.com/zoPhqbY" rel="external nofollow">https://imgur.com/zoPhqbY</a></p><p> <a href="https://imgur.com/Fnr7WpR" rel="external nofollow">https://imgur.com/Fnr7WpR</a></p><p> </p><p> And now, brief rundown of current narratives.</p><p> </p><p> - Goldberg has come back after 5 months out and he's gunning for DDP's world title. </p><p> - Booker T won a #1 Contenders Match to get a shot at Steven Regal's title. Fearing the possibility of getting ganged up on by both Booker and Stevie, Regal enlisted the help of current WCW TV champion Lance Storm. Now as Booker contends for the US Title, Stevie Ray is contending for the TV title.</p><p> - After putting Sid Vicious on the shelf in a cage, Jeff Jarrett seeks to topple another giant, this time the target is the immortal Hulk Hogan.</p><p> - Flair and Nash are feuding because...I don't know. Options are limited at the top.</p><p> - After losing a blowoff cage match against Hogan at GaB, Steiner stalked Nitro looking for revenge, destroying everything in his path. Until he found Sting.</p><p> - Somebody has sent Meng after Rey Mysterio Jr. But who?</p><p> - Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Dustin Rhodes are fighting over who is part of the greatest family legacy.</p><p> - Violence meets ultraviolence at The Endtimes (Brian Adams, Bryan Clarke) face off against Terry Funk and La Parka for the world tag team titles.</p><p> - Juventud Guerrera has...nothing to do. This is bad since I'm trying to push him.</p><p> - Berlyn currently holds the cruiserweight title, lamenting the lack of competition. But word has it that an extraordinarily talent named Brian Danielson is ready to make the leap from development to the main roster.</p><p> - Brian Knobbs, Tank Abbot and Asya have joined forces as The Beatdown Gang and have taken to beating up new WCW arrivals Shane Helms and Shannon Moore aka The Altitude Era.</p><p> </p><p> One last thing: The 2000 mod is fairly bare-bones compared to most of the other historical mods, not even containing international companies (it was clearly designed as a US-only mod). So I imported all of the company/broadcaster/worker data from Montreal Aftermath. This has lead to the annoying problem of double characters in situations where the mods use two different names (examples: Steven Regal and William Regal, Edge and Adam Copeland, that sort of thing). When I find them I take the impostor, age them up 50 years and set them to 'Out of the business')</p><p> </p><p> Oh, and now Louie Spicolli, The Renegade and Owen Hart are alive again. I would feel guilty mummifying them, I'd feel like I was cheating if I hired them (well just Owen really) but I'm not going to let WWF sign him either. Decisions, decisions.</p>

  19. A lot. I was running a 0/0/0 company and once the Wrestling Industry had dropped to single digits and suddenly it's taking me 4-5 shows to gain a full point of pop, despite putting on shows a full 30 points higher than my current popularity. Once the Industry had rallied to even 35 I was gaining a point ever other show or so.
  20. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="thadian" data-cite="thadian" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>1. In the help file, it says "Developmental Trainers are exactly like Development contracts except the worker is being specifically hired to train others." I read this as meaning that the "trainer" can help guys beneath their own skills rise to their level of skills. I would also like clarification on how this actually works. Is it automatic over time, does it involve segments? Inquiring minds...<p> </p><p> 2. Yes. It's a thing. Not everyone is going to get psychology + basics to 75, even if they have excellent potential. There's your roll for your potential, yes, but then there's a second cap set by your Destiny Roll. So, you might have a guy with excellent potential with no cap in Top Row Skills like brawling, but is capped at 60 Psychology from destiny roll. In this case, the wrestler will slowly downgrade to their new lower ceiling. Potential isn't everything, but it's a lot. You can get a clue about whether or not someone's got a good destiny roll using comments from the "Creative Meeting" screen, and sometimes the "Internet" screen will have someone give an interview revealing something about their destiny roll (they're nervous about big matches = bad main eventer, for example).</p><p> </p><p> 3. It can happen, I've seen mentors influence personality traits. Now, are you sure he developed this trait? How do you know that he didn't already have this trait hidden by FOW then you discovered it? If it starts with one personality type but changes to the opposite, you have an influenced change. But if it doesn't say anything and suddenly he's egotistical and selfish, well he might have always been but FOW hid it from you.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> 2) Really all I was looking for was to see if say, I started with The Great Khali and restarted the game 100 times, would he ever have 'fantastic' potential according to the Creative Meeting screen. So I decided to do a little experiment. In my 2000 game I started a new fed in the editor, moved in 10 prospects with terrible base stats and checked their reports. Then edited all of their potential to 'excellent' and tried again. The first time around I, much to my surprise, had one worker's report come in as 'excellent'. The second time I had 2 workers with a 'fantastic' report. </p><p> </p><p> I did this to see if there were ever even any actual point to signing the Great Khalis of the world in hope that they could turn into something amazing. Because I love signing too many people to my development territories.</p><p> </p><p> 3)I don't run fog of war. I checked Johnny the Bull's current personality in the editor against his baseline. It was much worse. Now I gotta dump Johnny out of the airlock and hope Hogan doesn't decide to mentor any young talent I actually like.</p>
  21. 1) What do Developmental Trainers actually do and what stats do they need to do it? 2) Do some wrestlers just have stats so bad that they'll never be good no matter how high their potential roll is? 3) Do mentors personalities rub off on their protegees? Because I had Johnny The Bull become a negative locker room influence after Hogan became his mentor.
  22. <p>Alright. At the end of April for WCW 2000.</p><p> Businesswise, a bit of a mess. In order to get TV I had to jump in the editor and banish TNT and TBS to Australia. I could (and in hindsight probably should) have just lowered their standards but I thought that would be cheating just a little too much.</p><p> </p><p> So I get Nitro on E! in America and on another smallish station in Canada. Unfortunately I can't get a deal for Thunder for another 3 months. I figure losing that much TV revenue will kill me so I I decide to set up a deal with TNN for a weekly event, called WCW Lightning. How a weekly event on free TV is any different from a TV show I don't know.</p><p> </p><p> Oh wait, the gate. I sell like 2.5x more tickets this way.</p><p> So I made almost a million in profit this month. I still feel like I'm cheating. But since I have that TNN deal for a year I'd feel like an idiot if I rendered Lightning defunct in place of B-Show Thunder.</p><p> </p><p> So I now have everybody back that's coming back except for Goldberg, who will be back in a month. and Luger, who will be in rehab for awhile yet. Hogan has surprisingly behaved himself and has even found himself a protege in Johnny the Bull. Nash hasn't pulled anything. Overall things have stabilized.</p><p> </p><p> In terms of in-ring product, suddenly my 4 most popular guys have seen their pop surge. Page, Steiner, Hogan and Nash are all over 80, with Hulk at 90 and Steiner flirting with 90. This is a mixed blessing, since after these four (and Sting, who started in the 80's) it's a big drop. You have Flair at 74, Sid at 71, Buff Bagwell and Booker T at 68 and then you have a few workers hanging out at 60. Not really a great spread for elevating people. </p><p> </p><p> The toughest things right now are A: Getting younger workers in the main event scene. and B: Trying to get over an 80 match rating with my current main eventers. They're old, and not really that good in the first place, even if a Pop++ company like WCW they seem to have a definite ceiling. (Excluding Steiner who is quickly becoming my MVP)</p><p> </p><p> Creatively there's really too much to name and not much of it is particularly groundbreaking. DDP is my World Champion and I'll be turning him heel to feud with Sting and Goldberg. </p><p> </p><p> Rey is my US champion, he is feuding with Dustin Rhodes at the moment. </p><p> </p><p> Kronik (rebranded as "The Endtimes" because I don't do out-of-place weed references) has defeated Kidman and Konnan for the Tag titles. Their next feud will be with the unlikely-but-not-that-unlikely duo of Terry Funk and La Parka.</p><p> </p><p> In the Cruiserweight division, Beryln is holding down the fort until some of my development guys are ready to be called to the main roster and Juvy and Lance Storm are feuding for the TV title.</p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately I haven't made as much progress as I'd like in getting certain key young(ish) guys ready for main event positions. But it's still very early in the process and I still have a few years where I'm stuck with the old guys.</p>
  23. Alright. Small update on my WCW 2000 game. I think it might be toast. 1) When the game began I only had 3 months left on the media contracts for Thunder/Nitro/PPVs. 2) After I dropped to Cult, TBS, TNT and Time Warner Cable no longer want to negotiate with me. 3) Unfortunately because we're all part of the Time Warner media umbrella it means I can't negotiate with anybody else either. 4) The requirements for TBS and Time Warner Cable were impossible to meet since it required popularity thresholds in markets I had no way to meet in the time allotted. 5) So I go into the editor and start playing around. Only to find that in no way, shape or form can you mess with a media group in an active game. 6) I wind up reducing TNT, TBS and TWC's requirements so they'll negotiate. 7) I can negotiate with TNT and TBS just fine, but when I try to negotiate with TWC, Time Warner Media Group blocks it because for some reason Time Warner Cable isn't part of the Time Warner Media group. So I have no avenue to get on PPV in America. 8) This means A: I either broadcast all my PPVs on TNT or TBS, really turning them all into Clash of the Champions OR B: After my existing contracts are up, edit TBS and TNT so they have no coverage anywhere, allowing me to get another contract. I don't know if that will have unforeseen consequences.
