  1. <p><strong>V0.5 is now out - the first post is updated with the download link</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This corrects the alignment error kindly pointed out by stevedarake</p><p> </p><p>

Couple of other amendments: when updating the data it now sorts your roster from A-Z by name (I've not got round to looking at a full sorting workaround for all columns), I've added a Power 500 Graph added to the Company tab, plus I've added a first draft of a Personal tab.</p><p> </p><p>

On the Personal tab I was going to incorporate some Road to Glory type info (starting stats vs. current, yearly stats progression, annual best match; it could also incorporate and generate the random year end roles) so if you have any suggestions just let me know.</p>

  2. I was planning on including a Road To Glory tab on my Ultimate Excel document. What info would you want to see?

It could record starting stats vs. current, yearly stats progression, annual best match. It could also incorporate and generate the random year end roles.

    What would you want?

You can see and download the current document version here:

  3. One thing I noticed (possibly a game issue rather than the excel) is that some workers are showing up on their contracts with the company I'm playing as whilst others are showing their remaining contracts with other companies.

That aside I really like the look of this & hope to be able to get some good use out of it once the full game comes out. Keep up the good work.

Edit: Also just noticed that when comparing workers the Body section of Absence & physical is matching to whatever the 2nd workers body stat is.

Many thanks for your feedback - nope the contract thing is an issue my end with the formula used. I'll get this sorted in the next version (will need to come up with a different calculation method so will take some work). I've just corrected the body issue on my working version.

If there's anything else you come across just post it.

  4. V0.3 is now out and the first post is updated with some new screenshots and the download link.

This new release included: an expanded Roster tab (added: user notes, storylines, attributes, averages for skills and popularity, and previous Power 500 Ranking), completed Workers tab (allows up to three workers to be compared), and there is a first draft of a Company tab with other elements to be expanded in a later release, and unlocked Blank Tabs 1-5 have been added for user completion.

Included in the above is the ability to make notes against your workers which will be carried over when you update the data (as long as that worker is still there).

Plans for V0.4 will be resolving the sorting issue and expanding on the company info (e.g. storylines, titles, shows, etc.)

I'll be taking a slight rest for a few days now!

Well, skin colour at least is a descriptive term. "Race" is something that doesn't even exist, but was, as the name suggests, created by racists. I absolutely agree that ethnicity is the better term though.

I'm merely exporting what is in the TEW game and MDB files, so terminology used is more a Grey Dog Software / Adam issue.

@JoMo & @stevedarake: Libre Office/Google Sheets don't support macros afaik, and this sheet heavily relies on those. No chance of using it outside of Excel.

The document can only be used with Microsoft Excel I'm afraid due to the macro needed to update the data.

This might be something you're working on already, but could I humbly suggest the ability to sort columns? :)

Yes, sorting automatically is disabled when you lock a spreadsheet (although filtering is still available). There is a macro workaround which I'll try to figure out for V0.4.

    1. Make sure we can sort.

    2. Have to add all the skills (along with what you already have).

    3. (optional) It seems that the worksheet auto-pulls as soon as the database is in the same folder. IF there is a way that we can decide when it updates/pulls data, like the button that's there... instead of it doing it on it's own, I believe we could just put it in our normal data folder, and update whenever we want, as long as we aren't playing at the time.

    1. As above it's planned for a future release.

    2. Is now addressed in V0.3

    3. Not doable I'm afraid.

Many thanks for the feedback received.

However, when I left it as "Savename_Jan2020" and then renamed the file manually outside of TEW, it worked fine.</div></blockquote><p> Thanks for that. I'll add a note to that effect in the next version instructions. Glad to hear it worked fine for you.</p><p> </p><p> V0.3 is coming along. I had to go back and rewrite some formulas to streamline the excel as it was starting to slow down a bit but I seem to of sorted that. The next version will start to allow some user input (rather than just displaying info) so the sheets will be be more useful moving forward. Should be out in a couple of days.</p>
  6. yes, I have it in its own created folder and when I go to load data, it pops up a box that says I need a password with "admin" filled in

If you've been asked for a password when updating the data it's because you've incorrectly copied the save game database into the 'C:\TEW2020 Ultimate Excel' folder. You need to use the file that is generated in the 'MDBFiles' folder kept within your save game folder.

Once you try to run the incorrect MDB it'll corrupt the excel so you'll need to redownload and try again.

  7. Quick technical question

Im trying to upload the data, it's asking me for a password? Am I just missing that in the instructions?

What am I doing wrong? It is asking me for a password.

Are you using the MDB file that is generated via the save game options screen and saved into a separate MDB folder within your save game folder?

Will look to finish the Worker tab next...</p>
  9. 10 out of 5 stars for you sir!

Thanks for the comments and glad it worked with no problems for you. Any feedback or requests would be appreciated.

Does this only work in Excel? Trying to open it in LibreOffice and I get a BASIC Runtime Error 423 when I click Update Data.

Can you see if you can open the earlier V0.1 as this doesn't have the update macro http://www.mediafire.com/file/63ooapknh7qu4cr/TEW2020_Ultimate_Excel_V0.1.xlsx/file

The problem with V0.1 is that is was reliant on an array formula to keep the roster references updated. This just drains a computer hence why I needed a macro workaround. If the previous version works on LibreOffice then I'll have a think if there's another way to update the rosters for a future release.

Looks awesome, will it work with 2016

The principle would, but this Excel is specifically coded for the 2020 generated MDB so I'm afraid not.

Well, I WAS working on my own spreadsheet, and it was pretty cool. This shits on it, though. Awesome stuff! :):):)

Your comment gave me an idea - I'll insert some unprotected blank tabs to be completed by the user in the next release. At least people can plans things out whilst I work my way through the rest of the Excel functionality.

Decided to see what I can do with attributes today...

  10. <p>V0.2 is now out as per the updated first post and screenshots have been refreshed (all based on Zen but I've tested it with a couple of databases).</p><p> </p><p>

Feedback would be greatly received along with confirmation that nobody runs into any problems with the macro. With the macro work around I can now increase the number of roster members from 200 fairly easily so this is no longer a limitation moving forward.</p><p> </p><p>

V0.3 will finalise the Worker comparison tab and include a Company tab.</p><p> </p><p>

    Thanks</p>

  11. <p><strong>Welcome to TEW2020 Ultimate Excel!</strong></p><p><strong>

    </strong></p><p>

This Excel file is made to accompany TEW2020 and aid the management, analysis, planning and booking of your promotion; using the save game generated MDB file.</p><p> </p><p>

This Excel file can only be used for single player games. Currently it is set up for a maximum roster size of 200, but this can be expanded depending on feedback.</p><p> </p><p>

The document is a work in progress with the version number noted below, so whilst only certain functions are currently working many more are planned. There are lots of things possible and I’ve had some pretty impressive docs for previous TEW’s in the past.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Please carefully read the Instructions for Use on the Excel Guide tab, otherwise it will not work.</strong></span> This includes saving the excel into a newly created folder 'C:\TEW2020 Ultimate Excel'.</p><p> </p><p>

Leave feedback in this thread and let me know what you think.</p><p> </p><p>

Note, there are some limitations due to the nature of Excel (e.g. not being able to list multiple titles per worker) and these are listed in the document.</p><p> </p><p>

  12. I think where the world is right now and where it's likely heading, this release could not be better timed and will provide some much needed entertainment and diversion.

Having played Adam's games, not obsessively but consistently, all the way back to the EWR games this release could see a revival of the modding scene which has felt as stale as modern day WWE. Not on quality but on variety. The amount of input required for current databases to be detailed and balanced requires massive effort and props to those that continue to release what is out there. But people having a lot of time in their hands in the forthcoming months will hopefully bring more new faces and ideas back to the community (one in which I myself watch but dont really partake).

    Looking forward to it...
