From British Isles to America for example<p> </p><p> I am running a Thunderverse LTG with a custom Wolf Hawkins(first c-verse character I could think of). I started with a local company, and we somehow ended up in the black after 6 shows in 3 months. So I continued to go along with my starter company as small trying to get hired as a booker any possible opening. We were stuck in regional battles, and I had to either try to stay profitable by running so/so shows or spend a ton to win the regional battles. I figured that this would lead to no movement and boring. I became the owner of GBWF, and we made cult pretty easily soon after my take over. I bought CWE, ECZ, TWR, and All Japan Joshi. So we have good popularity in British Isles and really good pop in Japan. I think we will be capped at cult unfortunetly. As Regional Importance is stuck in mid 70s for Central/Northern England and Ireland. For me to reach national I'd have to have 90 popularity, and that's not real possible. I want to slowly expand to USA, by buying out a regional company, and then try to make USA my home region as it's easier to expand there.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> No, you can add another player and start a new promotion but you can't switch home <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

A championship match with a rating lower than the titles prestige will drop the prestige.</p>
  4. Firstly it would depend on when you're playing. If you're in the pre-Internet age then you're going to have minimal, if any, reduction.

Secondly, no, you shouldn't assume that week 4's show would automatically get lower than week 1. "Adam says that the further from the taping the lower the rating" is incorrect. What the journal entry says is "the further ahead a show is taped, the more its ratings are going to get reduced". An increasing penalty does not automatically mean that later weeks will do worse than earlier ones.

To give an exaggerated example, if you do a horrible show in week 1 that only draws 100,000 viewers, and pull out all the stops so that week 4's would otherwise have drawn 2,000,000, then even if there's a 10% drop for each week of taped content then you're still going to be getting a much higher rating for week 4's show.

Ah, fantastic. I wasn't thinking you had segmented the game into pre and post internet, which is fantastic! I am now remembering you alluding to this in the journal.

  5. I'm playing Burninghamsters 96 mod and in 97 I made a player to control WCW and WWF to alter some thing that were bothering me. I decided to made an NWO and WCW brand for WCW, hired Bruce Prichard to book, they stole a ton of talent for WWF. Owen, Yokozuna, Bret, HHH, Hall, Nash, and Waltman. Before a lot of that happened at had made Austin the figurhead because they weren't using him and it was annoying to me. Then HBK got busted with prostitutes and was fired. Now the WWF champion is the recently rehired Jim Duggan who is in a year long program with Kane. Ech. They haven't used on on a PPV for like 6 months. I don't understand why this game will have bookers who don't use the figurehead all the time. Drives me crazy.

It will remove credibility out of any argument that anyone makes. I can understand the potential for losing some ratings. Live shows do attract more viewers and have no spoilers. But i also hope it is not as linear as it seems.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You're crazy if you think Meltzer hasn't influenced every aspect of this business including this game. I've read Meltzer for almost 20 years, it's something I love to do and I don't find much credibility in discrediting him so you can use your source and I will use mine. You know, the only one who has been an industry leader for almost 40 years.</p>
  7. <p>About TV taping days. Adam says that the further from the taping the lower the rating. So am I to assume that no matter what I put on my week 4 show that it will get lower ratings than week 1 because of the time between air date and taping? </p><p> </p><p>

While Meltzer has more than once concluded that tapings do not hurt ratings, I understand the old school and in game reason for the penalty. But is it as simple as I've expressed above? If so that kind of stinks because no matter what my ratings will decline. </p><p> </p><p>

Or is it just a general handicap to my ratings?</p>

I'd like to run WCW of the mid 90's with some WWF gimmicks. What should I do to make this "plausible?"<p> </p><p> For example, I'd like to turn Dustin Rhodes into Goldust but Goldust is an edgy character and in the mod I'm playing WCW has Cult at Very Low.</p><p> </p><p> Yes, I realize it's my game and I can do what I want but I'm hoping to stay fairly true to the circumstances of the time. Is it remotely reasonable that the WCW of 1994-1995 could have been persuaded to raise Cult to, say, Medium? And beyond hiring Vince Russo to reflect his influence on my Creative Team, are there other choices that make sense?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You could create a new gimmick and make sure it falls within the guidelines of your product needs. Goldust could be a "gimmick" type, or "weirdo", just make sure it's not rated too edgy. Maybe you can raise the difficulty to balance it out in your mind.</p>
  10. Trying to work out a 1990, WWE version of the Dangerous Alliance and could use some suggestions.

Larry Zbyszko, Paul E. Dangerously and Rick Rude are three guys set to reappear in this alternate version, and Sherri Martel is going to replace Alundra Blaze. But I can't settle on replacements for Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Steve Austin. A part of me is thinking Hercules Hernandez and Paul Roma to replace Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton and for Sid Vicious to replace Steve Austin, but I'm not settled.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Just something "out there"...

Dangerous "Alliance"? Give it new meaning. Make the alliance between Paul E. and crew with The Hart Foundation. Two powerhouse managers with two powerhouse tag teams aligned. Plus you can send either team into singles.

  13. How do I avoid "penalized for booking decisions"? I have match aims, repetitive booking and crowd management disabled

Perhaps you did a finis that your fans don't like. Go to your product settings and double triple check them. Make sure everything is in order. It may take some time for you to learn exactly what that is if you haven't played around with them much.

I will also say the game is more fun with Crowd Management and match aims activated.

  14. Hello, I am a fan of TEW, but I have always had questions about how the popularity works. I know a B is better than a C, but to put it into real world context who would classify as an A, B, C, and D popularity? Thanks

I think you'd have to think of an A* rating in TEW as the very best possible. So when it comes to overness for a worker at that level you are talking about Steve Austin at his height, The Rock when he returned to face Cena... about an A would be like Sting in 97 WCW or CM Punk during his championship reign... B's might be around the level of someone like Big Show or Kane etc...

So if you are a cult company you can easily main event your shows with guys that are C rated or above. If you are regional and can score someone that high, that's gold.

  15. <p>I'm playing as Major League Wrestling in BurningHamsters 1996 mod. It's a random game I started and have been playing for a month or two real time, I'm almost two years in now. We are a touring company based out of Quebec, with broadcasters and investors in France, Italy, Scotland, New Zealand and Hawaii. At the begging of 1997 I was able to pillage IWA-J and took some popularity in Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

Size: Cult (Canada) (Regional in, Europe, New Zealand, USA & Japan) (Small in Scotland)</p><p>

    Prestige: 96</p><p>

    Momentum: 73</p><p>

Money: $1,326,934 (average monthly gross, over 100k under 150k... losing money some months, starting finances were 1,000,000)</p><p>

    Figurehead: Taz (written)</p><p> </p><p>

    Product:</p><p>

    Traditional: Heavy</p><p>

    Comedy: Heavy</p><p>

    Modern: Key Feature</p><p>

    Realism: Heavy</p><p>

    Lucha: Medium</p><p>

    Pure: Heavy</p><p> </p><p>

    Match Intensity: 40%</p><p>

    Match Danger: 60%</p><p> </p><p>

    Current feuds...</p><p> </p><p>

Taz vs Gary Albright. Taz had been champion for over a year by the time Albright challenged him. After 3 unsuccesful attempts he lost again to frustration when he attacked Taz in them middle of a championship match against Crash Williams (Bill DeMott), turning the MLW fans against Gary Alright and in the corner of Taz.</p><p> </p><p>

Edge & Christain vs The Quebeccers. The Quebeccers are stables in MLW, 2 time tag team champs now looking to take the belts back from the young Edge and Christian who made a name for themselves as a comedy duo before upsetting Sudden Impact (Jericho and Storm) for the championship during a recent tour in New Zealand).</p><p> </p><p>

Mike Awesome vs Justin Bradshaw. Two big dudes that can't seem to find a 3 count before the ref stops the match. They've been brawling all over the world for the past 7 months.</p><p> </p><p>

MLW World Heavyweight - Taz (over 1 year)</p><p>

MLW World Tag Team - Edge & Christian </p><p>

MLW World Middleweight - Chris Jericho </p><p> </p><p>

I usually run 2-3 weekly shows during a tour. Each active month has a commercially broadcast event all over the world. </p><p> </p><p>

I start the year with my 16K Gold Rush Tournament, ripped from WXW and NJPW. It's a 16 man double elimination tournament with the winner facing the World Champion at Super Fight at the end of the tour. </p><p> </p><p>

I do a Middleweight trio's tournament with the winning team facing off in a 3 way eliminator to decide a contender for the Middleweight Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

I didn't expect to get to cult so fast, but my company is growing and growing fast. The income is low right now, I've yet to see the money flowing in but I can see it coming. Taz is being over shadowed by Jericho's star quality which is being a problem for me financially right now. I've put almost two years into Taz as figurehead and he's not quite clicking. Frustrating because I don't have anyone other than him that would work.</p>

How do you gain heat a little more consistently ?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Can you give some specific examples? Tell me what you're booking exactly. </p><p> </p><p> Without knowing what you are really doing I can say this. If you are trying to gain storyline heat then make sure you are choosing the right attribute to highlight for the workers. Example. Let's say you are doing an angle with Ricky Morton and Ric Flair. You could do an angle where Flair is rated on entertainment or overness (surely going to get a high rating, make sure to put SUCCESS here) and Ricky Morton can be rated on selling (should be very high if the mod is correct, have the angle be a DEFEAT for him). This is as a major angle over 6 minutes will give you a great rating unless your commentary is horrible.</p>

  18. Looking for tips on how to maximize my figurehead when it comes to merchandise. I'm international, US based, economy and business way down but I'd like to make the most merch I can so what is the best course? I've never done custom merch, should I? My figurehead has been in places for 3 years 6 months, attendance up by 11% and merch by 40%, should I do custom merch? I've got my settings currently at Just in Time and quality is above average. Making usually around 1.1 million a month and spending 350/400,000 to make it happen. Any advice?
