  1. Just posting the first show right now so I have something substantial to use to work on formatting.

    AWA Championship Wrestling: Episode 1

    Friday, Wk 1, March 1987

Pre-Show: The Midnight Rockers def. The Nasty Boys in a squash. The match suffered because Jerry Sags was high on drugs. Not a surprise, this happens a lot. Shawn was angry and I can't say that I blame him.

Pre-Show: Boris Zhukov def. Jake Milliman

Pre-Show: Cactus Jack def. Steve O

Pre-Show: Jerry Blackwell def. Mike Miller in a decent showing.

Rod Trongard and Lee Marshall welcome everyone to AWA Championship Wrestling and Paul E. Dangerously to the broadcast booth, he’ll be joining full time as a color commentator going forward. No word yet on what that means for The Midnight Express but Paul E. insists it won’t be a problem.

In a decent match Buddy Rose & Doug Somers def. The Top Guns, John Paul and Ricky Rice. After the match The Playboys & Sherri Martel hype up their match with The Midnight Rockers at this month’s Supercard.

Madusa Micelli def. Penny Mitchell with a German Suplex. An okay match that highlighted Madusa’s strengths. After the match Madusa tells Eric Bischoff that she wants Sherri to put her title on the line against her at the March Supercard.

In a quick squash Curt Hennig def. Bob Holly. Hennig really shone in this match and Bob Holly didn’t look half-bad for a jobber. He’s someone that’s worth looking into bringing in on a PPA deal. After the match Hennig gets on the mic. Bischoff asks him about Nick Bockwinkel.

Jimmy Snuka def. Rip Oliver in an alright match.

In This Corner: An interview segment hosted by Larry Zbyszko. Larry Legend interviews Nick Bockwinkel, wants him to address Curt Hennig's promo earlier about challenging him for the title. Bockwinkel says Hennig is a hell of a competitor, a great second generation wrestler like him. But he hasn’t earned a shot at the AWA Championship. He promises Larry Zbyszko that his opponent for this month's Supercard will be bigger, better, and more exciting than Curt Hennig. But he can’t tell you who it is just yet…

Back live in the arena Nick Bockwinkel def. Bulldog Bob Brown in a non-title match.

  2. <p>Some roster notes for the next release: </p><p> </p><p>

Donovan Dijak, Keith Lee, Kyle O'Reilly, Michael Elgin, and as of today Adam Cole are not with ROH. Most of them haven't been for months. </p><p> </p><p>

Except for Adam Cole, they're all now working sporadically with Evolve.</p><p> </p><p>

KAI should be on a PPA deal with All-Japan. </p><p> </p><p>

AJPW has working agreements with New Japan and NOAH, two promotions that they very rarely if ever actually work with, but Wrestle-1, a company they have shared workers with in the past eight months or so, is set to non-aggression.</p>

  3. So....I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but Rob Feinstein is still listed as the owner of Ring of Honor. Rob Feinstein resigned from ROH in March of 2004 after he was caught allegedly trying to solicit sex from an underage boy. I'm not sure if by January of 2005 ROH had already had the majority of its shares sold to Carey Silkin, but for simplicity's sake it may be best to make him the owner of ROH.
  4. Hi! A few small things I noticed right off the bat, Backlash is set to be in September when it's actually taking place in May, Bad Blood isn't on the schedule despite being confirmed to take place in July on the RAW brand, and Austin Aries is still listed as injured and on NXT despite being on RAW and wrestling for almost a month now, and The Revival have no tag team experience despite being a tag team for the majority of their time on the roster, Zack Ryder is listed as uninjured when he's been out for a couple months with an injury.
  5. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Vagrant" data-cite="Vagrant" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>WWE must have been feeling left out.<p> </p><p> Jack Swagger called into Chael Sonnen's podcast and revealed that he was granted his release from WWE and was interested in getting into MMA in the future.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> He's asked for his release, he hasn't been granted it yet though from what I can tell. I'm sure that'll change in the next day or so though so rev up that database editor and head to the contracts screen.</p>
  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="ThatKrytenGuy" data-cite="ThatKrytenGuy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Hey Fleish, there are a couple important guys in the Indy scene that you're missing in the mod. Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz are missing from the mod and they're the current CZW tag team champions, Dezmond is also about to make his PWG debut. EYFBO is another team thats missing from the mod and they were the former CZW Tag Champs. You probably don't watch CZW so I can understand it being not up to date. I can send you any updates that you need for them also. Also, you have Joey Janela still set to Star man and he hasn't wrestled as him in quite a while. I can provide stats for all 4 guys that I mentioned if you'd like. <p> </p><p> Thanks for all the work you do, considering you don't have to do it.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Love EYFBO.</p>
  7. Maybe thats because Nixon Newell, Kay Lee Ray, Viper and Shayna Baszler are currently on tour with Stardom.

That's not what he's saying, dude. He's saying it's a problem because STARDOM isn't set as a touring company in this database so it registers as a critical error and prevents you from starting the game until you fix it.

Unrelated, Fleisch, Dick Togo is set to retired wrestler, he's been active again for several months. Just saw him wrestle about a month ago in the states.

  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="joemurphy" data-cite="joemurphy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It was apparently reported wrong, he has a fractured pelvis however is still doing Apache Army's Christmas Day show because he's a bloody mad man. Whether he does the AJPW 1/2 show I'm guessing depends on how that show goes.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Dude is ****ing insane.</p>
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Questlove" data-cite="Questlove" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>They probably are slightly on the low side, but I think B would be crazy. Just because they're getting main event angles in real life doesn't mean they've actually become that popular.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I absolutely agree with you. The women have been getting main event slots, but that doesn't automatically make them more popular. If I want to roll with a lower midcard guy in a TEW game I can stick him in as many main events as I want, it doesn't mean he magically becomes main event popular. Real life is no different.</p>
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Fleisch" data-cite="Fleisch" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Wow. Waaaay too much work for a January update I'm afraid. Zero chance in fact. That's the downside of having a life. Thanks for the updates. I shall try a Feb release. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Never said it had to be for next month, just giving you some advice for when you get the chance. The WWE UK Tournament would probably make more sense to focus on for January, obviously.</p>
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="LazarN" data-cite="LazarN" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41205" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> -Chris Hero reportedly signed with WWE and will appear on NXT as Kassius Ohno.</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'd hold off on this just yet. The person who reported he was going to NXT as Kassius Ohno was Ryan Satin, a dude who is notorious for talking out his ass. Hero even tweeted about irresponsible journalism shortly after Satin made broke this "story." So take it with a grain of salt.</p>
  12. <p>AJPW Changes</p><p> </p><p>

So, I wanted to use this mod for AJPW but the state of Japan in general is a little off in this mod, which is understandable, there's a lot to cover and it's impossible for one person to know everything and I'm pretty well aware that AJPW is not the most popular promotion in the world right now. But I figured I'd do my best to give some general advice on AJPW and the state of Japan in general a little bit. </p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>General Changes</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I’d use the more traditional All-Japan logo. It’s still the one most prominently featured on their TV and on their website and merch.</p><p> </p><p>

Honestly, I think the popularity of AJPW, and probably most of the other Japanese promotions, needs to be lower, preferably to small size. Regional is way too high in comparison to the attendance numbers that AJPW actually draws. On their normal shows AJPW does around 300-400. Bigger shows like World Tag League shows can draw 400-600. </p><p> </p><p>

This, also, would allow you to remove the downsides from the contracts of AJPW’s workers. One of the biggest issues with AJPW recently was their decision to end all guaranteed contracts and switch to PPA deals, this lack of guaranteed money is what led to the most recent exodus of All-Japan’s talent, including some top stars like Akebono, so it doesn’t make sense for the entire roster to have guaranteed money in-game because in real life they can’t support it. </p><p> </p><p>

Currently they’re not set to be touring in December. But AJPW is currently running shows. The World’s Strongest Tag Determination League/Real World Tag League shows take place in December. Speaking of which, the date of the RWTL should be changed along with that to tournament title taking place in December.</p><p> </p><p>

Freelancer status has to go. I know this isn’t the first time it’s been mentioned, I’m sure, but Freelancer, at least in regards to this game, is completely broken. It doesn’t mean what this game thinks it means. A Freelancer in Japan is someone who wrestlers for multiple promotions, not someone who hops from promotion to promotion. There are freelancers in the database working for AJPW who have worked there for almost a decade, meaning unless you edit the data yourself you can’t resign longtime mainstays of the promotion. </p><p> </p><p>

The TV deals for AJPW aren't really reflective of the actual way they run tv, but I'm not certain how I'd go about correcting that just yet. </p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Roster Changes</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Atsushi Onita is set to Personality, but is the All-Asia Tag Champion. He should be set to Occasional Wrestler at least. Also, I’d argue his popularity his a little low. Onita may not have been wrestling for a while, but the dude is a legend in Japan, he basically invented the Japanese deathmatch style. 20 across the board is way too low. He's also on loan from FMW which seems to be a problem since he's leaving at the end of the month, but is All-Asia Tag Team Champ, but won't be able to defend that belt since you're currently not on tour in December, but also can't change your touring status unless you release your touring roster members. It's really a mess that requires you to jump through hoops to avoid having to vacate your belts. </p><p> </p><p>

Joe Doering is back in January, so he should probably be added in for the January release. No official word on when his debut match is so maybe keep him injured until halfway through the month or so. </p><p> </p><p>

    Masahiro Chono hasn’t been with All-Japan since 2014. </p><p> </p><p>

Suwama should be added to the AJPW Royal Road tournament history as the winner for 2016.</p><p> </p><p>

I’d argue Zeus should maybe be a little more popular, at least an Upper Midcarder given that he’s held the Triple Crown before. </p><p> </p><p>

I also assume some of these changes would have to lead to popularity adjustments for most of the workers. For instance, Kento Miyahara is most definitely a main eventer, but 70 popularity across the board for him seems a little bit high, and the above mentioned reduction of company size to small would allow his popularity (and therefore contract cost) to be lowered. Same for many other workers whose roster slots are correct, but the money paid for them seems quite steep in comparison to what AJPW is really doing.</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>General Japan Changes</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A similar adjustment in popularity for non-NJPW, Dragon Gate, and DDT Japanese promotions is probably in order. AJPW, NOAH, Wrestle-1, Zero-1, BJW etc. all draw similar numbers, so regional just strikes me as very high for those companies. </p><p> </p><p>

The database itself could really use an influx of good, young, Japanese indie workers like Takuya Nomura or Kaji Tomato, or even older guys like Super Tiger. Just to give players who want to use smaller Japanese companies some more useful talent.</p>

  13. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheWho87" data-cite="TheWho87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41793" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Just finished updating Dragon Gate, I've tweaked stats and set popularities to put them roughly to MHero's position recommendations. I've set them a little lower than suggested on the stat forum only for balancing against New Japan, Dragon Gate's main event is around New Japan's midcard/upper midcard levels and then spread out from there.<p> </p><p> I'm going to work on AJPW and NOAH workers and roster next so if anyone has recommendations on roster positions that would be helpful in sorting out popularities.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'll try to get you some recommendations on AJPW roster positions over the next couple days. Finishing up some of their more recent shows that made tape. I'll keep you posted.</p>
  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheWho87" data-cite="TheWho87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41793" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I have plans to work on Japan, so far most stuff has been updating New Japan, I am planning on working on Dragon Gate after I finish updating some personalities which may or maynot be sorted for October, all depends on me not procrastinating as much as I usually do.<p> </p><p> I'll add in an injury for Joe Doering, as for Miyahara, his card position would be based on his popularity compared to others in AJPW, Japan isnt an area I'm great in but any suggestions on popularity changes are welcome although I have been informed that AJPW right now is sort of tanking compared to other promotions in Japan.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'll try to get you what info I can on All-Japan, Miyahara is something of their ace in training so I'd at least recommend tweaking him at least barely to main event or at the very least high upper-midcard levels of popularity. </p><p> </p><p> I'll try to figure out how their TV deals work as well and get you anything I can.</p>
  15. <p>I like this database, for the most part, but there's a pretty big list of mistakes in AJPW that I could help you correct if you want. </p><p> </p><p>

The most glaring one is Joe Doering is set to be an active competitor despite being sidelined with a brain tumor since last year (and with no confirmed return in sight.)</p><p> </p><p>

Another one is Kento Miyahara, their current champion, being set as a Midcard guy when he's been main eventing shows fairly consistently for a while. </p><p> </p><p>

Their TV deals are also a little ****y but I'm not sure the best way to go about fixing those just yet.</p>

  16. <p>Actually, there's another thing I feel like I have to suggest, just for AJPW again. Too many people on the roster are listed as freelancers when the game starts, people who, realistically, would probably not be leaving AJPW within a year. </p><p> </p><p>

Osamu Nishimura, for instance, has been wrestling with them since 2007. </p><p>

Takao Omori is on their board of directors, so he's unlikely to leave just because he wants to "move on."</p>

  17. <p>Hey, Fleisch! Playing your mods for a long time, this one's coming great so far, just a couple very minor things I wanted to mention for the future. In your base database AJPW Jr. Heavyweight title is set to Vacant, but Atsushi Aoki has been champion since February. </p><p> </p><p>

Also, the tag name for Jun Akiyama and Takao Omori is just set to their names, but they go by the name Wild Burning. </p><p> </p><p>

That's it, other than that keep up the great work!</p>
