Assuming you've never installed a mod before, have you used the "create database" feature in the editor? If not, here's a step-by-step:

I have followed the development of this mod for a good long while and always admired the effort you put in (it's very noticeable upon starting a save and just having a look around). However, the mod's lack of "yet to debut" wrestlers, especially women, was a big turn off, so I never ended up committing to a save. With this most recent release, I've taken the plunge and I've having a blast. Whilst I have many periods I enjoy more as an adult fan, this era (roughly 2005 - 2009) is my nostalgic sweet spot and it is so gratifying to go back and book my own personal golden age. I'm so happy to finally be able to relive this period. Again, thanks for all your hard work. If I were to make one request it would be to add the Crockett Cup either as a classic title or a retired alliance title for the NWA. Obviously very minor and unnecessary but I imagine some players (like myself) might want to make use of it for an alternative TNA run.

I never use traditional ring announcers (it'd be cool if the game allowed you to assign them to matches like referees and road agents), so I never thought to check. He's definitely not in my version of the data, which I haven't tampered with apart from setting Bret Hart's skill potential to "excellent".

I don't know if this is precisely the kind of thing you are talking about but at the start of every save I create basic guidelines for my TV shows in the notepad (which I'm free to deviate from if and when it makes sense). The crowd seemed restless and distracted on both nights, outside of the Main Event and at least the finishing sequence for Bayley vs Iyo Sky. There were a bunch of pointless matches on both nights, especially the first night. The "six pack" ladder match was wretched, the Philadelphia Street Fight was somehow even worse. The six-woman tag was not a bad match but it still felt like needless bloat on an already tiresome show. The commentary was awful throughout (the best commentator was CM Punk, and he was just there for a post-match angle). Also, pure personal preference, but I cannot stand even the premise of the "world heavyweight championship" let alone how it's actually booked, utterly worthless title. Goofy sports-entertainment finish aside, I enjoyed the main event (the real main event), and hopefully we can get Rock v Roman and Rhodes v Rock somewhere down the line. Seeing John Cena's bald spot and the Undertaker's DIY dad outfit made me feel very old. Some of the artificial physiques were a little grotesque, and the Rock should probably wrestle in his cool vest to cover up his bacne. I did not expect to see Stephanie McMahon, and the crowd reaction to her was even more surprising. Triple H's "new era" is a very funny rebrand and I remain unconvinced.

Is it possible you are using the gif version of the data with the jpg picture pack or vice versa? Edit: If you are sure you installed the correct picture pack, it's possible you simply haven't set the right picture pack in the "database details" section of the mod. Step-by-step (skip where necessary): 1. Open TEW 2020 (make sure it's set to be opened as an administrator), and click on "Editor" (the button with a spanner and a screwdriver icon). 2. Click on "create database" in the bottom left corner, and name the database whatever you'd like (for real world mods, I typically use the year they take place in). 3. Exit TEW 2020 and install the mod by dragging the mod's "mdb" file that you've downloaded into the appropriate folder ("GDS >TEW2020 > Databases > "whatever you named the database here"), and dragging the picture folders (that should include most of the following; "Banners", "Belts", "Broadcasters", "Events", "Logos", "People", "Random" and "TV"), that you've downloaded into the appropriate folder ("GDS > TEW2020 > Pictures > "whatever you named the database here"). Some mods ask you to download the "People" folder separately from the rest, but the same principle applies. 4. Open TEW 2020 (make sure it's set to be opened as an administrator), click on the databases icon (looks like a stack of folders with the letters "DB" on top) and make sure it says you are "currently using" the database you just created. If it doesn't, just click on that database and then press "use this database". 5. Click on "Editor" (the button with a spanner and a screwdriver icon) and press "database details" in the bottom left corner make sure that you have the correct "picture folder" selected. If not, just use the drop down menu next to "picture folder", select the correct one and then press "save".

I've always wanted to try this but I don't want to have my playthrough ruined by not understanding the rules, so can anyone tell me how brand products affect storylines? If my overall product requires storylines but one of my brand's products doesn't, will the game still expect me to advance my storylines on that brand's shows (to not lose heat)? How about the reverse, if my overall product doesn't require storylines but one of my brand's products does, do storylines only have to be advanced on that brand's shows or will they lose heat by not advancing on other shows?

Just ran a SNME and Bret Hart versus Roddy Piper got a 90. I was kicking myself for not putting it in the main event but then Randy Savage versus Ric Flair got a 99! Not super remarkable, I know, but it put a smile on my face.

Three small questions I've had many times: 1. What is the purpose of low psychology road agents? A lot of databases (including the default one, if I recall correctly) are littered with them. 2. Am I correct in assuming that dedicated enhancement talent are better as jobbers than local talent? I assume that wrestlers who are on television constantly, despite losing, build up just a little bit of popularity which can be fed to new talent I want to get over (I assume for guys who are already over, it makes no difference whether they're beating a guy with fifteen popularity versus thirty popularity, or whatever, perhaps I'm wrong), whereas unemployed jobbers/rookies usually won't have much popularity to give away. 3. Do hot storylines still make a difference to match ratings if your product doesn't require storylines?

Kurt Angle is six foot, and Chad Gable is five foot eight. I adored American Alpha, and it was the perfect role for him but I've never taken him seriously as a singles guy (though, to be fair, the company has never presented him seriously as a singles guy).

Whether or not it was by design, the WWE now have an organic groundswell of support for their top babyface (in an era not known for cooperative crowds) just days after the (arguably) worst scandal in the company's history broke.

I simply have a strong aversion to the character. What would you say is his best match? Perhaps, I should give him a chance.

My first WWE show in a long time, and I have mixed feelings (apologies for what turned into a rather rambling rant in parts). The women's rumble was fun, at least in terms of the surprise factor and "feeling like a rumble" for lack of a better term. I thought having Jordynne Grace felt like a distinct departure in terms of how the WWE treats the rest of the industry (especially in terms of how the commentary team referred to her). As an aside, the commentators were just awful, and it really doesn't seem like Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn being gone has improved anything. Insipid and obnoxious all throughout. Anyway, apart from the fun surprises, the match was pretty bad in terms of in-ring quality. There were a lot of botches, even from some people who are usually solid. Sometimes these things happen, everyone makes mistakes after all, but there's no excuse for giving Maxxine Dupri, of all people, that kind of spot. There was also something awkward with Kacy Catanzaro and I'm not even sure if it was a botch or just terrible commentary, where she got dumped out but landed in a crowd of people. The commentators mentioned that her feet hadn't touched the floor, but then she just rolled off. Kofi's anti-climactic elimination later in the night reminded me of it vaguely, but I also recall a similar spot where he landed with one foot on a chair and the commentators played it up like he was going to get back in, and then he just never did. I was surprised to see Nia Jax get so much heat, from an otherwise pretty lifeless crowd, but I assume that's just because I haven't been watching. Kairi Sane was made to look really stupid with her elimination spot, one of the many things that contributed to my impression that Vince's absence isn't really going to change a lot of WWE's horribleness. I really enjoyed the finish, however, and there were a few cool spots, and I ended up preferring this match to the men's, despite the much better in-ring work from the latter. I skipped the four way because it seemed utterly pointless, and then I skipped Logan Paul (I don't get it, I don't ever want to get it, I want him to go away). As I said, the men's rumble had much better wrestling in it, and I was broadly pleased with it. The comedy stuff went on way too long, and whilst I can handle R-Truth, the Pat McAfee stuff was wretched. He seemed genuinely popular, which is presumably a cultural thing. It just annoyed me, and seemed like a waste of an entrant. Speaking of entrants, however, I'm glad neither rumble had one of those spots were a wrestler never enters the ring. The commentary got way worse during this match, with the three guys practically mocking the very concept of a rumble, "imagine if" this guy won, "imagine if" that guy won, yes, thanks for reminding me that of the thirty guys I'm going to see, only a handful are currently featured in your long-running action/adventure television storyline. When I go back to these events, I usually switch the commentary to French. There were no real surprises, and whilst I'm not someone who thinks a rumble has to give a spot to a legend, they already threw away a spot to an announcer who didn't even take a bump. The lack of fanfare for Kofi's elimination irritated me, and not just because I wanted to see him do a cool spot, but because in general I expected them to maybe start treating him like the former world champion that he is. I don't think the finish really worked, I guess because I never really bought CM Punk as a serious threat to Cody Rhodes. Like, one of them looks like a million bucks, is the cover star on the video game and has a built-in storyline, and the other one is shorter, slimmer and going grey. Not to say it was bad. I felt satisfied in the end, and generally enjoyed myself. I might stick with it for the WM build.

I used to use the AI booker on B-shows (after doing the main event myself), but I eventually became annoyed by having to babysit it. Now, I do all my planning on pen and paper (whenever I have the time) and manually book every show.

I usually use Pat Patterson as my user character, so I rarely book myself, even in angles. Otherwise, I will play a ring general type, who can work in the main event, and maybe even occasionally hold the strap, but who isn't the top guy. The sole exception is Bret Hart. I'm such a mark for him that, on the rare occasion that I play as him, I juice his stats in the editor and book him as the top guy. I haven't created a self-insert kind of character (in fictional/CVerse mods, or whatever), so I'm unsure how I would literally book "myself".

Recently got back into TEW 2020 after a long hiatus. I don't have much time to play each night but I am chugging along with a 1992 save. The premise is that I'm booking WCW as a Japanese-style performance-based company, specifically using the "Royal Puroresu" product, and making stables integral to the company. Along with the starting factions, like the Dangerous Alliance and the Diamond Mine, I've kept the York Foundation around and added "Camp Cornette" (with Vader and the Midnight Express). Once I get Ric Flair back, I'll obviously reactivate the Four Horsemen. I also want to create a classic babyface faction (though I'm not actually using dispositions) led by Sting. My initial idea is to include the Killer Bees (who I hired in my initial wave of hiring and firing), but that might be a little too corny. If I can get my hands on them, I also want my own version of the Hart Foundation. I'm really enjoying it so far, and I've also learned a lot more about how the game works. I used to bumble my way through but I wanted to get this right so, among other things, I finally sat down and hashed the maths out, regarding the 65:35 performance-to-popularity match ratings ratio. It's been helpful to think of it in two ways; 65 is effectively a cap on the rating (perfect in-ring wrestlers with zero popularity could achieve this, but not much more) and 60 points of popularity is a requirement for, realistically, getting match ratings in the 90-100 range.

You have done an excellent job with this mod, and it has brought me back to TEW 2020.
