1.
I've been playing Planet Coaster on and off for a bit. I didn't pick up Roller Coaster Tycoon until years after it had been released, and that was only the third game. But I've really been enjoying Planet Coaster. I dunno. I guess...I mean, I'm a bit of a Bioware mark - and as for the comments previous, even if DA2 wasn't a spectacular masterpiece, I don't know that I've ever felt closer to a player character than I was to Victoria Hawke, the warrior whose snark and silliness covered a well of hurt, who loved a pirate queen and tried to see the good in everyone. But overall, the older I get...the less I want to play games about destruction. I don't know. The world is full of destruction and death and division. The older I get, the more I want to create and nurture.

So, games like Planet Coaster, where I can create a park that makes virtual people happy? Or Stardew Valley, where I can turn overgrown and barren land into a living farm and help my neighbors? Or Cities: Skylines, where I can try to create a sustainable city of happy, healthy, educated citizens? Or, say, TEW 2016, where I can try and tell interesting stories and grow a company? They just appeal so much more to me than games about killing things at this point. Even the Bioware games, for me, have the appeal of trying to build something that brings people together for the common good. Maybe it's all very Pollyanna. But if there's an element of wish fulfillment in gaming, those are the kinds of wishes I'd like to see fulfilled. Maybe it goes without saying that people play the games they play for any number of reasons, and most reasons aren't any better than any other reasons, but I'll say it anyway.

That was a tangent, sheesh. Back to the more immediate point. If anyone's been playing Planet Coaster and wants to share blueprints or whatever, I'd be intrigued to see what you've built!

That they've worked this angle for Jinder & the Bollywood Boys, and Michael Hayes still has a job backstage for WWE, would not seem coincidental to me.

 3. Is there any benefit to booking a match such that the match intensity and/or match danger is greater than the settings listed for your product? For instance, if my product's match intensity is 20% and match danger is 5%, would increasing the match intensity or match danger result in a potentially higher match grade?

That seems alot longer to be gone than needed.

Not that realism is exactly a goal with TEW, but depending on the film and the role, you may have some pre-production stuff (learning how to not look like a doofus holding a gun for an action movie, for instance), then there's location shooting and the nightmares that can go with that (pray your worker doesn't become involved in something like the filming of Apocalypse Now), post-production stuff like ADR or reshoots, then there's all the press junkets to promote the movie that's usually part of the contract someone signs... so, though the shooting (hopefully!) wouldn't be 11 months, 11 months for the entire process isn't out of the question at all!

 5. Hello! I have a request for an alt, but it's part of a storyline I haven't written up yet, so I don't want to say who it is and spoil things. It'd be just one picture. If you would be willing to help out, I would be immensely grateful and when the pic gets used, I'll credit you as hard as I humanly can. Feel free to PM me if interested, and again, thank you!

I've brought in the Dudleyz as replacements and I honestly prefer them to The Outsiders IRL but I'm not sure if canning The Outsiders is logical or not at this point. They've already run Piper out of the company and I'm scared they might do the same to Flair , The Giant or someone else important if I don't get rid of them sooner or later.

Plush Nash refuses to job since he has creative control. I just don't see the appeal in keeping them around.

Well, they are definitely acting like the real 1998 Outsiders, that's for sure.

From a historical perspective, I think WCW losing both of the Outsiders would have been a giant publicity coup for WWF. After all, they started the nWo angle and it was their defection that really set off the Monday Night Wars. Heck, even getting Syxx/X-Pac back from WCW (which was actually a power move against Nash and Hall, to fire their little buddy since Bischoff wasn't going to/couldn't fire them) was something WWF threw into WCW's face. Getting Nash and Hall back at that time...I think that would be like Austin jumping back to WCW at the height of the Monday Night War. Not as big as Austin, but somewhere on that level.

FWIW, Nash seemed pretty lazy IRL and he was the person who booked an entire hour of Nitro without any wrestling. What's his promo skills + pop like? It would be entirely like Nash to not actually, you know, wrestle, but you could still potentially use him to help you get some huge angle ratings - which, if WCW's product settings are more pop than performance, will help your overall show score. You can do what happened in real life and have Nash go out and chew up a bunch of time talking or in video packages, to get the proportion of angles to matches higher, which will help a popularity-based company.

Hall is similar, though if they've modded in his addiction issues, he's a bigger liability. I assume the mod has him as a better in-ring performer than Nash, but if WCW is pop over performance, that probably makes him less valuable than Nash. WCW kept him off TV in (failed) rehab so you could give him time off and eat the salary cost. And frankly, if you're going to fire one of the two Outsiders, Hall's probably the one you want to let go of given his drug and alcohol issues - you can let him go and give the WWF's reputation a black eye if he signs back up with the WWF.

 8. Scheduling and Its Effects on Attendance/Ratings/Buy Rates I've not seen anything about this in the in-game help, or in this thread. It's possible I missed it, so if I did, pointing me towards the answers would be appreciated! In terms of holding events, showing TV, booking PPV, does day of the week matter? What I mean is, there are some slots that, in the real world, are considered prime television time (Monday nights; traditionally, Saturday nights, particularly for Georgia Championship/pre-Nitro WCW). PPVs are almost always held on Sunday nights. I think there could be an expectation that a live event on a Friday might have more people able to attend since they don't have work the next day than, say, a Wednesday. Does TEW 2016 take day of the week into account when determining attendance at live events, ratings for TV, and buy rates for PPVs? Do we have any ideas on what days of the week are better or worse? Also, does running a TV or an event at the same time as another promotion hurt one or both promotions? Or even provide a boost (as the Monday Night War boosted the size of the wrestling audience instead of splitting a finite number of viewers)? Thank you all in advance!

 10.

This is more of a "booking theory" question, I guess, but as a wrestling neophyte, I'm curious about when it would be natural in a feud to use some of the more 'exotic' match types? (In my case, primarily in TCW/SWF).

Like, I know ladder matches tend to be done when 2 or more 'equals' are fighting for some prize. And Cage matches are theorectically to prevent 'interference'.

But, outside of lucha, when would you use a 2 out of 3 falls match? Or a Cell match as opposed to a Cage match? And things like First Blood vs I Quit vs Last Man Standing?

I feel like I tend to rely too much on basic matches, when I probably should be ramping up some of my storylines, so I'm hoping that having a better understanding may help open my toolbox a bit.

I mean, there's a lot of different theories about this. The most "traditional" American take on these matches are that they are used as the big "blow-off" to a feud. Basically, when two guys (or teams, or factions) have been going to war for a while, these special stipulation matches are considered the ultimate way of ending the war once and for all. The special stipulations raise the stakes and usually the danger of the match, which serves as the storyline's climatic point.

Generally, First Blood matches are good for when a feud has been violent and the idea is that both competitor's don't want to just beat their opponent, they want to maim them and do serious, lasting injury. Last Man Standing and I Quit matches have an element of "who's tougher" - in both cases, it's not enjoy to just score a quick pinfall, and these tend to be physically grueling matches. They're good for when things are so hot between two workers that it's again not just enough to win a victory over the rival, but to show without a doubt that they are the tougher person.

2 out of 3 falls matches are actually how American wrestling championship matches in the early territory days were settled. The idea being, the championship wouldn't change on a "fluke", as having to win twice showed that you truly were the better competitor. In general, a 2 out of 3 falls match can still serve the same purpose - when you want to book in such a way that there is an undisputed victor. The recent Revival vs. DIY 2 out of 3 falls match at NXT Takeover: Toronto is a good example of booking toward that goal.

That said, that's a fairly traditional view of booking. The idea is that you use these special stipulation matches sparingly, because you want them to serve as the important climaxes to big feuds - which means audiences come to see these matches as "special" and thus will buy tickets/PPVs because they're about to see a real "treat". Do them too often, and they lose their novelty, and thus lose their drawing power.

Obviously, different points of view abound. ECW, in many ways, operated under constant "Street Fight" rules, whereas in 1981 Pat Patterson and Sgt. Slaughter met in a "Bootcamp" match that was essentially a "Street Fight" which was considered a bloody, violent spectacle because those matches didn't happen in 1981 WWF. Some promotions regularly put on Death Match matches as part of their calling card - you can rest assured you'll get blood as part of your ticket price. And the Attitude Era WWF and Vince Russo WCW products saw quite a few "gimmick" matches occurring as part of the general over-the-top, overbooked style of the time.

So in some ways, it's a matter of taste how you want to use special stipulation matches. There are people with nuclear heated opinions about what the "correct" way to book special stipulations matches is, so I don't know if there's one right and true way of using them.

Jericho's still active, Rey-Rey is too(kind of, if his knees don't explode), Eddie and Benoit are both dead, and many of the remaining cruiserweights were either Mexican or Japanese stars or lesser names. Dean Malenko also has the benefit of being a strong presence with a solid cruiserweight background, but not such a big personality or name that he would wind up overshadowing the action. I think he'd slot in very nicely in the William Regal-like slot of a 205 show.

Him winning anyway, even with giving his opponent warning, strikes me as really putting him over as an upstanding, do-gooder face champion.

 16. Building off this, you could go with Sandler having run his mouth starting the bar fight in the first place, Shawn Michaels to a group of Marines style, but Shamrock just saw one small guy vs. a group of huge dudes and saved him. You can keep with that dynamic - Sandler runs his mouth to various wrestlers, and the runs and hides behind Shamrock when he's got the other guy mad enough to want to punch him out. If you ever wanted to break them up, you could have Shamrock finally get tired of cleaning up Sandler's messes, and just tell someone coming to beat Sandler up that "he's all yours" then walk off as Sandler FINALLY gets what's coming to him.
