  1. Okay, now that I've loaded up the game about five times and had a bit of a play around with it, I have a few things to add: 1-a) I'm gonna echo what about 50% of the comments in this thread seem to be stating, and that is regarding the UI being utterly horrendous. There is some disagreement as to how bad it is, but you can put me in the camp of those who say it is simply unplayable in the current state. I mean, it really is. I've had to keep coming back to try again because I simply cannot look at that screen for more than 15 mins before I want to rip my eyes out. HOWEVER.... 1-b) I don't think the issues with the UI are quite what people think, (although I could be wrong), and I think most of it could be solved with some minor tweaking. For example, using a softer grey colour (like the border of this text box) instead of having a jet black contrast to the text would make the it highly visible without it being jarring. Also, thinning the borders of each box would help, so that it doesn't draw attention away from the information you want us to see and otherwise confuse/blur our senses. Perhaps a change of font in places. These kinds of subtle changes can make a huge difference. 2) From what I've seen (getting past the above), everything else seems pretty much what I was hoping for, and is a massive improvement that I don't think people have been able to appreciate yet due to the novelty of it all. I'm loving the sheer amount of customization that's been added, and this brings me onto my final point. 3) I've heard a lot of complaints in this thread about things that have already been addressed if you read the manual. For example, you can turn OFF match/angle ratios altogether, if that bothers you. You can also scroll through lists with your mouse or keyboard if you turn off new-style coloured lists in 'Your Preferences' (options).
  2. <p>Wow, that's awesome! This gives me hope that I might be able to actually buy the game at some point after all. Great job.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="C0NTR4l34ND" data-cite="C0NTR4l34ND" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47672" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>This is fantastic, I like it because I can read it and it doesn't feel like it's burning into my eyes, making me go blind.</div></blockquote><p> ^This is exactly what I've been feeling so far. I was well into the process of providing some lengthy feedback, but then I decided the game was never going to be what I wanted, no matter how much I wanted it. These games have always suffered major issues with the UI and that's never going to change.</p>
  3. <p>When I book WWE, I abolish the men's division... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> (Darn. I waited too long to say that, didn't I?)</p>
  4. <p>It would be cool though. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I know 90% of the people reading this are like 'WTF, why would anyone want to do that?' but one of the main appeals of this game is that it allows people to play however they want and create their own fantasy. Some people like to merge different wrestling eras, some people like to import cartoon or comic book characters, celebrities/athletes from different generations, etc. With this in mind, the more quirky features there are like this the better, imo.</p><p> </p><p> Dunno how feasible it would be though, given how crucial things like stat gains are based on a person's age. I mean, you couldn't just gain stats forever, and I can't imagine something like that being turned off.</p>
  5. True (fantasy) wrestling - I dunno if this would be viable with the nature of the game, but I'd love to simulate a game world (perhaps in an alternate universe) where pro wrestling was actually real. The company owner cannot decide who wins, because the wrestlers themselves will determine the outcome based on their in-ring performance. You would not be able to allocate a set time for each match, but you'd have a time limit before the match ends in a draw. I know this is not likely to become an option and would probably require a lot of extra work, but that would be my dream version of the game.
  6. <p>The problem I have with telling my own story is that it feels like I'd essentially be writing my own fan fiction that no one else would read. I just don't see the point. I'm not knocking anyone else who does enjoy this aspect of the game, but it's really not something that does it for me.</p><p> </p><p> Anyway, thanks for the info, guys. I'll put it forward on the suggestions forum and see if Adam will consider adding it as an optional feature. Personally, I think it would add an awful lot of value to the game, at least for players like me.</p>

You could simply never select a winner.</div></blockquote><p> Ah, that's cool. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll have to join the queue for TEW 2020 then <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  8. <p>Quick question from someone who hasn't played the game since TEW 2010. Is there a way to create a company that has realistic/competitive matches that don't force you to choose the result?</p><p> </p><p> Just to clarify what I mean, I'm coming from the perspective of someone who loved the MMA games because you didn't know who was going to win any given match, and thus the game created its own surprises. But what always put me off the TEW titles was that I had to write my own story instead of watching it evolve on its own.</p>
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cheffchantier" data-cite="cheffchantier" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44604" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Ok it is as i feared. No other Possibilities? To buy wmma4 just for one database convertion seems overkill. Puh , ok that´s it for me as i am not planning on loosing again countless hours to edit around 100 new fighters, etc.<p> </p><p> Thanks anyway.</p></div></blockquote><p> It's funny you say that, because I'm still in the process of creating my database for WMMA5 about 3 months after release and haven't yet played my first game. I knew it would take a while, but I've already spent something like five hundred hours editing it by now. It's crazy. (In hindsight, I wouldn't have bothered with things like names, which took about half of that time - that's over 10,000 names fully researched and typed in by hand)</p><p> </p><p> I completely understand why you would never want to go through that again when you've done it once, but I'm so glad that you're able import it via the free trial of WMMA4. If you couldn't, you could have always asked a kind person on here to update it on their system and send the file back to you.</p><p> </p><p> It's worth it though. WMMA 5 seems to have made sooo many improvements over the previous versions. Can't wait to actually start playing the thing. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The champ beat every single guy from rank 2 to rank 6, twice. Anyone outside rank 6 is <strong>comically</strong> inferior to the champ so what now? Give the champ another round of slaughtering top rank fighters or do something else?</div></blockquote><p> I seem to recall Anderson Silva having this problem during his prime years. The UFC matched him up with a few Light Heavyweights, IIRC.</p><p> </p><p> Run a tournament to boost one of your lower fighters into the higher rankings. One of the important things about managing your roster is to keep feeding the up-and-comers (preferably with semi-retired has-beens) to create the illusion that they are a lot tougher than they are. You can make fighters look like ranked contenders without them having to fight (and lose to) your most elite.</p>
  11. Always nice to have more female renders. These are excellent. Please keep up the great work! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  12. Is the rival company more popular? Does it have more credibility? If a fighter seeks fame and glory more than money, they might not be swayed so much by financial incentives over a chance to make a name for themselves in a bigger company.
  13. Not really. AFAIK, Potential is the maximum skill level the fighter can reach, whereas Destiny is more like a window of opportunity, (ie when they will reach their peak and how long they will stay there before their skills begin to decay). They are both randomised at the start of a new game, unless the player alters them in the editor to a specific value. I also have a query that I hope someone can answer: When a fighter profile regenerates into another fighter with similar stats, is the era taken into account, (i.e. is it all relative)? So, for example, would a dominant fighter from an early era have even greater skills when their regen appears in a later era to account for the fact that the MMA world has improved? Or would the fighter keep roughly identical stats to their previous incarnation, and thus be a less dominant force because of the tougher late game opponents?
  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="FACT 25" data-cite="FACT 25" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44604" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Could somebody tell me to what ages do the various destiny stats options <em>(Much Younger - Younger - Average - Older - Much Older)</em> in the fighter editor correspond to?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> They change the destiny of the fighter so that they will (for example) retire much earlier/later than they would have using the default setting. The best way to illustrate is with an example:</p><p> </p><p> Say, when you first begin a new game, Fighter X is generated from the default data, and they have a hidden value that makes them retire around the age of 37. This will adapt in game to whatever events take place, but the fighter will be set to retire at roughly that age. However, if you altered their destiny settings to earlier, they may now be set to retire at around age 35 instead, (still taking account of in-game circumstances). Or if you put 'much later' into their destiny setting, they may instead use the age of perhaps 42 as a average.</p>
