2. Emma Chase died pretty much immediately in January of this new game, and Eric wasted no time in inducting his fiance into the SWF hall of fame.

    MASSIVE UPDATE

I did a search of new relationships just to see how the game world's shaping up, and it turns out that by March Kristen Pearce was already giving interviews stating that she had been dating Eisen "for a short while." I don't want to be paranoid, but I definitely suspect foul play on at least one of their parts!

  3. Week 1 of the save, Yu Hashimoto storms out of 5SSW. I ring her up and ask her if she'd want to join the Q in America and she does. Two days after signing, her mentor Crusher Ichihara starts passing on tips to her, improving her weakest areas (psychology, selling) on consecutive shows.

Do mentors pass on tips even when they don't work with their protege, or did you hire Crusher as an agent?

  4. What's your problem?

I don't think he was trying to be rude, just remarking that there's a pretty big learning curve to TEW games, especially with big companies.

Could I suggest running a game with a smaller company? I always felt like I got a better handle on the basics of the game when running small promotions where there's less of a risk of shows constantly losing popularity for you.

  5. This makes no sense man, even a New Beginning in Osaka Jo Hall Main Event 46000 people Okada vs. KENTA for the IWGP Heavyweight Title 34 minutes gets like a 68 still with technical masterclass, slow build notes.

Sorry, didn't realize you weren't the one with the 99 main events. I would be careful with using match notes like technical masterclass, epic, steal the show, etc in main events. In my experience there's a high chance of them backfiring on you a lot unless you know how to perfectly manage a crowd throughout a show. I've found that it's best to just use a regular match aim combined with slow build, especially when you're still trying to learn the mechanics of the game.

  6. One thing I would suggest considering, if 99 is the best match possible, absolutely perfect, Omega vs Okada, have you ever seen a young lion match that's 1/5 as good as that outside of a Young Lion's Cup? I would say that a 20 might be in line with the product and their skill level.

Consider that there's a lot of caps that are going to be placed young lions. Depending on your product, they aren't going to come near the match time to avoid the cap, their popularity is going to be really low, their skills are going to be very low, and their experience won't be hitting 20 to avoid the penalty there for a while.

After you run a match, check the road agent notes (or dirt sheet?) to see what the reasons for the penalties are. That should give you an idea of what the problems are. Keep in mind too that if you're main events are 99s you shouldn't have much to worry about with low grades from young lions! Just keep booking them like you are and have fun with it!

  7. Thanks, alot of cruiserweight have good flashyness but lower aerial, so how much better does it make it

I'm not sure how true this rings, but I've always looked at those guys with high flashiness and low aerial as the sort of guys that can do a 630 but can't really do it well. They can flip and fly but can't make are lacking impact or do it a bit sloppy. Compare Billy Kidman's SSP to Paul London's in a way.

  8. i saw the warning, but it is so hard for me to book PPV's in this game. Crowd burnout starts after 210 mins (including pre + post show) which for a big company really isn't much, so I didn't really have any free time, so with 210 mins used, i has 65% match to angle ratio, when its required minimum of 75%. This is why I've changed the product to classic balanced, as it only takes 3 months to do, and has some nice positives over the default product, and means I only need a minimum of around 65% match ratio for PPV's, which I can do

And no. No way in hell did I think it would tank that big :D:(

Have you considered dropping the length of your angles and increasing the match length? I know that if I were to pay for a PPV from a company like TCW that's more in ring focused and I got a product that had 35% of the time are up by angles I would be pretty upset.

  9. It really changes based on my company's size.

Right now, I'm running a 0 pop company (up to 5 at the end of March!) And with those I really, really like to hire guys with next to no pop that are unemployed. Then for the main event I'll take a midcard or lower guy from a company like MAW or NYCW.

For more regional size companies, I look for a few really talented guys that I feel won't be signed to exclusive contracts and build around them. I don't like having every indies main eventers on my roster because then it turns into a "who do I push if everyone deserves it" situation, so I fill my midcard out with guys that aren't as talented but have upsides in their own. Maybe they'll grow, maybe they're really charismatic like Zippy, or maybe they're just fun characters.

For big companies, I try to fill unique roles with my hires. It's a game and it's really just about the grades, but if I'm booking SWF and I already have SoVen, Scythe, and Hellion, I'm not looking to hire Hells Bouncer. I've already got three of them, so I want someone that will fill a more unique niche.

  10. Cut it short, T-Bone is young and very talented. Arsenal is on his way out.

Definitely. And T-Bone also has a brawling skill in the mid 70s to ensure that your wild brawls get even better grades. Note, I'm note even sure if brawling has anything to with wild brawls, I just assume!

That's not to say you should push Arsenal down the card, though. He's still a reliable enough worker to fill out your midcard. It's just that he's nearly a 27 year vet that's broken down and probably on that slippery slope that is time decline.

  11.
I have a ton of fun writing midcard feuds. There's something really freeing about not worrying about achieving the best rating possible to ensure company growth that I love. It lets me use wrestlers in fun storylines that I otherwise wouldn't because they're not "great."

Like in the attitude era, everyone on the show had at least some kind of story going. Even if it was silly there was some freedom to be had because those stories weren't going to mess with ratings when you had Austin/Rock/Mankind/Taker at the top of the card.

  12. What road agent notes are people using in their regular match ? After pulling a 71 out of Andrews vs Wolf, and anything not involving them or Chord/Bach scoring a low 60 at best, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong on that front.

Call in ring, slow build, winner, and decisive. I tend to just keep the match aim as regular aside from the required wild brawl and storytelling.
