I've stumbled on it once, but cannot figure out how to get back to it.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's been a LONG time since I've done it, but the process should be as simple as going to the "Alliances" menu in your office and using an alliance loan to borrow the champ. Then on your show you should be able to put the title up for grabs on the match screen.</p>
  2. Do the e-mails from a worker that says "This other worker is super rad, push him" or "This other worker stinks, cut him loose" or such things actually tell you anything important that you need to know or are they mostly just personality based flavor?

I'm actually curious as well, because I've got conflicting messages from members of my roster at the exact same time. Some will say to write a low card guy off because he doesn't connect with the fans, whereas another worker will claim that he's awesome.

  3. Catching up on several pages of updates, and one of the features I'm beyond stoked for is the tournament tracker. I'm running a round robin tournament in my game right now, and tracking it on excel is a bit of a pain since I inevitably forget to mark down someone's win or loss once my sheet starts filling out. Having the game track it for me is going to be amazing since I run this tournament yearly.

The touring shows you're holding are chopped up and used for your television show -- so you get the normal ratings/revenue you get from a TV deal but without the added expense of needing to hold weekly TV.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ah gotcha. So no real benefit to have both, right?</p>
  5. First off, I'm stoked that area battles are back to being about show quality over star quality, because that really gives me a lot more freedom when hiring, and I think will lead to less SQ-chasing in my games (I'm looking at you, Champagne Lover).

That said, what's the star quality function now? It's been so long since I played pre-2016 editions that I don't remember! Is it just a vague X-factor type thing that gives a worker a nudge toward being better?

  6. <p>I'm about 7 years into a fun game idea. I deleted all the workers and promotions, basically everything accept the yet-to-be debuted promotions and the broadcasters. </p><p> </p><p>

The idea is that pro wrestling never existed until a retired kickboxer wanted to start doing a live action kung fu show, and that turned into pro wrestling. </p><p> </p><p>

My promotion is still the only American one, but the idea has taken off off in Japan apparently, as they're running three promotions over there. </p><p> </p><p>

7 years in and the talent pool is still pretty small. There's a decent amount of workers, there's just a smaller pool of good ones. A lot of these randomly generated guys are way more volatile than the c-verse guys. Even if someone's got a positive personality there's a good chance they're showing up to work drunk. </p><p> </p><p>

That makes sense, in a way. No one has a tv deal yet, so the guys willing to compete in this new entertainment form probably have a little carnie in them.</p>

  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="John Lions" data-cite="John Lions" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41193" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Going based on your product, in my mind I have an idea of what that "history" could be. I don't know if there are faces and heels in your company, but judging by Randy coming off as the "bad" guy I think this can add a bit of a wrinkle to the story and keep it from being too over the top.<p> </p><p> Randy was in SWF way before Mikey James was. What if Randy and Mikey became close friends in SWF - they are the same age, but Randy "mentored" him to show him the ropes, get him in with the big guys backstage, get him bigger matches and help him show his stuff.</p><p> </p><p> And you could either go a couple directions from there - maybe Mikey took all that help and gratitude, and either turned on him and tossed him aside once he was "in", or left to greener pastures (your promotion)? You could also have Randy going out of his way hurt his relationship with his brother and Randy went "all in" on trusting James, and was betrayed? Maybe Randy and Mikey became a tag team and Randy was "Jannety'd" by Mikey? </p><p> </p><p> The specifics depend on how long Mikey spent in SWF before joining you as to what makes sense thematically, but Mikey "betraying" Randy after Randy helped him get his feet under him in SWF would be the core idea. Since Randy is the "bad guy" this would give him some reason for doing things, but maybe he's exaggerating it, or maybe Mikey's changed and Randy's not willing to let go? A ton of directions you can go with it but I think it's a grounded, realistic situation that happens a LOT in not just wrestling that fits with your product.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I like that a lot. I'm actually running my fed from a draft the board did like two years ago, so Mikey was only in SWF as long he was at the start of the 2016 database. Either way, he got over there, and Randy being his bro there makes sense. </p><p> </p><p> I like the idea of Mikey kind of leaving Randy behind as his career moved on, and Randy growing bitter about not seeing the same success. Like, Mikey didn't even know there was a problem until I signed Randy, and now there's a huge feud coming.</p><p> </p><p> Thanks! You've just helped me book these guys for the next few months. I'll probably cycle some guys into the feud but I think I can stretch this out for half a year.</p>
  8. So I've run into a problem. Well, not a problem so much as a kind of writers block. I started booking an angle because it sounded cool and never planned out the end.

It's a simple angle. I hired Randy Bumfhole (henceforth known as Randy Quarry) and stuck him storyline with Mikey James. Basically, Randy shows up as the heel, and when he comes into contact, he's like "Remember me from SWF?" to Mikey and commences to absolutely menace Mikey. There's history between them, but neither is saying what exactly that entails.

I carry this on for the next month until they have a match at the next PPV (Fight Night XIV!) and Mikey comes out with the win. He's more over and frankly better than Randy at this point. Anyway, Mikey wins, but the next week, on my Friday show, I have Randy keep the trash talking up. Mikey responds by knocking him dead with a spinning hook kick backstage, and that's where we are now.

The problem is, I have no idea where to go with this angle, because I never took the time to figure out what their history together actually was! That's where you guys come in. I need to spit ball some ideas here. I'm two weeks away from the next PPV and I want to hopefully reveal what went down between them to make them hate each other so much either the show before or at the PPV.

EDIT: Keep in mind, I run a perf>pop fed, and this is my most soap opera-y angle yet. I'd like to keep it somewhat grounded.

  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="milamber" data-cite="milamber" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Charlotte is still a Flair. She's not going to knock back a golden opportunity. Characters with shades of grey are more interesting it's just that it's hard to trust WWE (outside of NXT) to pull it off with too many cooks in the writing kitchen and Vince's last minutes changes.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's not a golden opportunity though. She was put in a triple threat, where the odds are against her winning. Had she simply let Becky take the match on her own and got the next title match, she would've had better odds of winning. Remember what happened last year in the big multiman for the championship? Everyone killed Brock to start the match. A triple threat is never a good thing unless it's your only chance.</p>
  10. <p>Just booked Total Mayhem 2018, and the show went fantastic. I run two brands, Total Takedown and Total Wrestling, so I'll highlight the matches in red and blue respectively so you know what's what. Also, basically everyone is in stables, so that's why you'll see some partnerships. </p><p> </p><p>

The roster looks really different at this point. I like to fill developmental, so lots of guys come from there, and I needed a lot of guys to get to two brands, so I started to steal, steal, steal workers! </p><p> </p><p>

This was the first show I got to run on my new TCW Network after I got off Reverie, and I managed a 14.99 rating on the network and .12 on some Euro PPV service.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">$10,000 Ten Man Battle Royale: Mighty Mo defeats Atom Smasher, Freddy Huggins, John Greed, Marat Khoklov, Masked Cougar, Randy Quarry (Bumfhole), Sammy Bach, Tanyu Toshusai, and Trent Shaffer. 75</span></strong></p><p>

Started the show off with a fun ten man battle royale that saw each man put $1000 on the line. Lots of new names to TCW. I just picked up Tanyu. I'd never played Japan before but he was available and has 98 SQ, so he's a future star for me. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#4169E1;">Adonis (High Flyin' Hawaiian) beats The Architect and Lassana Makutsi to retain the TCW US Championship. 78.</span></strong></p><p>

Adonis is Hawaiian in a beautiful people type gimmick. He beat Architect at the last PPV, then Architect got himself DQ'ed in a rematch. Lassana inserted himself into the mix, and voila, triple threat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Spencer Spade and Lenny Brown beat Ross Henry and Scythe. 80.</span></strong></p><p>

All next big things here. Well, Spade has actually been champ already, so yeah. He lost the belt to Remo two months ago, and since he can't get a rematch because he lost decisively, he went after Remo's stablemates, Ross Henry and Scythe. Spade recruited Brown to help him, and they won here. Not much else to say.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">Frankie Perez/Mikey James beat Youngman/Prometheus, Cannonball/Stardust, and Running Wolf/Roger Monteiro for the TCW World Tag Team Titles. 78.</span></strong></p><p>

This tag division is hot. Ernest Youngman doesn't have a performance below 90. He and Prometheus were the champs, so I'm gonna split them up since Prometheus is massively holding him back.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Wolf Hawkins and Rick Law beat Sean McFly and Human Arsenal. 84</span></strong></p><p>

Wolf and Law both want back in the title scene, and since McFly is a recent title challenger, they picked a fight with his stable to use him as a stepping stone to the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#4169E1;">"Jungle" Jack Marlowe beats Sam Savage. 79.</span></strong></p><p>

Sam Savage is a regen from Dread's Titan Factory, and has an 83 brawl stat and a 94 SQ. His selling is still in the orange, but we're working on that. I can't remember who he's a regen of, but I gave him one of the CVFP pics of a guy smoking a cigar. Jack Marlowe is a key member in my main heel stable, the DD10 (Damn Dirty 10), and this was a basic young-guy-trying-to-earn-respect storyline. Spoiler: he didn't earn Marlowe's respect.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Steven Parker beat El Mitico for the International Championship in a submission match. 82.</span></strong></p><p>

Mitico is on the precipice of stardom. He just changed his body to muscular and no in addition to 90+ performance skills he has a 94 SQ. I had him lose here, but kept him strong in the loss. There was a ref bump, and Parker used a loaded glove to knock Mitico out. He locked a sleeper on the unconscious luchador, and when they ref came to he awarded Parker the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#4169E1;">Zimmy Quarry (Bumfhole) beat Aaron Andrews, 82.</span></strong></p><p>

Zimmy's kind of a sourpuss in my TCW, but still a face. He's just super intense. He previously lost to Nicky Champion in a title match, and when Andrews made fun of him for it as a guest commentator for one of Zimmy's matches, Zimmy snapped on him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Remmy Miller and Miller Ford beat American Elemental II and (Garry) The Entertainer for the US Tag Titles. 79.</span></strong></p><p>

Basically gave Remmy and Miller the win so I can push The Entertainer to the top. This guy is going to carry my company, and Elemental has only been pro a year and he's already one of the best in the world. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#4169E1;">Benny Benson and Greg Black beat Killer Shark and Troy Tornado. 79</span></strong></p><p>

This was my quick match. Tornado bet High Concept that he and Shark could beat them, and spent the entire month bragging about it. Shark starts the match and dominates. Tornado tags in, taunts, and is quickly rolled up for a High concept win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Remo defeated Tom Gilmore to retain the TCW Championship. 95.</span></strong></p><p>

Gilmore is the co-leader of a stable with Spencer Spade, who Remo defeated to win the title. Gilmore has made it a goal to get the belt back in the stable as Spade got sent to the back of line for title shots. That's basically it. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#4169E1;">6-Man Total Mayhem Cage Match: Nicky Champion defeats Rocky Champion, Joshua Taylor, Jay Chord, Greg Gauge, and Nate Johnson to retain the TCW World Championship. 100.</span></strong></p><p>

Not even the top match of the year!</p><p> </p><p>

This was the culmination of several storylines. Nate Johnson was the previous challenger to Nicky's belt. He's been on sort of a one-last-run quest. He lost, but Nicky cheated. Also, Nicky is the leader of DD10 and Greg Gauge is a member with him. </p><p> </p><p>

Taylor is booked as super intense, and he's been pissed at Greg because he refuses to use the Keith name. Taylor remember Sam on the roster, and respects him. </p><p> </p><p>

Jay and Rocky fought at the last PPV in a #1 contender match. Rocky won by DQ when Jay had some goons attack. Because of this, GM Floyd Goldworthy declared that there was no #1 contender. </p><p> </p><p>

The next night, there's some mix and match action between all six, and the show ends with a huge brawl as Greg helps Nicky, Rocky helps Nate, Taylor goes after Greg, and Jay gets involved to keep himself in contention. After this brawl, Goldworthy announces the modification of the Total Mayhem match. Instead of a tag, it's now 6 singles wrestlers.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, the match ends with Greg, Nicky, and Rocky tied for the lead (Total Mayhem has every fall count as a point, and the winner is the one with the most points at the end.). Greg could win, but sacrifices himself so Nicky can get an easy pin on him for the win in the final seconds. </p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Total: 96</strong></p>

  11. <p>Leading up to Total Mayhem 2018, and Nate Johnson has just put in his second 100 rated match. The first came when he challenged Rocky Golden for the world title, and this second one came when he challenged Nicky Champion for another belt. </p><p> </p><p>

In other news, Total Mayhem ended with two 100 rated matches. Sean McFly and Rocky went to a double count out in the original main event, and th ebrawl was so good it got a 100. GM Shawn Doakes came out and restarted the match, but Jay Chord came out, claiming that he should be in the match since he won a #1 contender match. Doakes conceded, and Jay went on to win the belt in a 100 rated triple threat main event.</p>

  12. <p>Starting in my second year with TCW, I decided that I'd start running a round robin tournament to decide the #1 contender at Total Mayhem. After two months of running a twenty man tournament, this is how the final scores shook out (2 points for winning, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss):</p><p> </p><p>

    <img alt="J9lRbeA.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/J9lRbeA.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I had Rocky and Law fight at Where Angels Fear to Tread with Rocky coming out on top, and he'll be heading into a title match with Sean McFly coming up. </p><p> </p><p>

The reason for Wolf not being in the tournament is that he was the champion coming into it, but McFly was able to unseat. Now he's got to find a way to get on the Total Mayhem card and getting increasingly unhinged without the belt.</p>

  13. Fastlane:

Nakmura vs Rusev - Good match. It annoys me that Rusev is forced to be a heel even though he's over enough to be a strong babyface.

Orton vs Roode © - Solid match for a feud with little heat. Orton is now a Grand Slam champion. Hopefully Roode will turn heel soon.

Women's Tag - OK but pointless match. Carmella got the pin to make her look strong before her cash-in attempt at Mania. Poor Becky.

New Day vs The Usos © - Good match but they have had better. Using each other's moves kept it fresh. The extended Bludgeon Brothers beatdown was great and they finally used the weapons. Reminded me of early Shield.

Ruby vs Charlotte © - Good match. Just what Ruby needed to prove she's better than the stable she's stuck in. Asuka showing up was a cool bonus.

Sixpack Challenge - The most entertaining match of the night.

Verdict: Solid PPV. By recent Smackdown standards they overdelivered.

I thought Orton was already a grand slam champ? Outside of the hardcore and euro titles, the US belt is the only one he hasn’t had.

  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hashasheen" data-cite="Hashasheen" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41343" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>To be fair B, that model of stocking up developmental guys just so happens to turn them out into better workers if they're on touring for a year or two. I can't count the number of games where I did just that for the sake of filling up the indie scene with better workers. Heck, I do it to SNP out of Scotland just because they can afford to blow through their cash like that.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That’s my line of thinking on it. I’ll hire a massive amount of not great indy workers that I don’t expect to want to use myself to one year development contracts just so I can pump them up and send them out into the world. When they’re contracts up I’ll usually send them out into the world but every now and then a guy will surprise me by developing stellar stats in an area I could really make use of or they formed a tag team that I can call up to use as a jobber team on b shows.</p>
  15. <p>So, question:</p><p> </p><p>

What is it about Danny Fonzarelli? I mean, every TCW game I've ever started I've received the note that I've got to get Danny up to 77 pop when I see him as nothing more than an upper card jobber. I checked to see if maybe Kyle Rhodes had a style preference for him, but Rhodes likes "wrestling as a sport" and Fonzarelli's only relationship is with his old partner sitting down on the indies. What does the game like so much about this guy that they're forcing me to push?</p>
