  1. Old, broken down workers work tour shows all the time in Japan. They just work in 6 and 8 man tags and maybe take 1-2 bumps a night(if that). That being said, this distinction would be useful for like, high-profile foreign talent.
  2. For some reason the converter loves giving the 'mercenary' attribute to anyone and everyone.
  3. Use 'tight focus' for the Angle Focus, and have one of your main eventers cut a promo at the end of a show.
  4. I agree. Nepotism is one of the most powerful forces in Pro-Wrestling and I've always said TEW needed to take that more into account.
  5. This issue has existed as long as talent sharing has been around. If you and a company you have talent sharing with have the same worker under a non-written contract, a third party can come in and sign that worker to a written contract, and neither of the talent sharing companies can stop it because offering that wrestler a written contract would be considered 'stealing' the other companies talent. If a written contract is offered to a talent shared by two(or more) companies, those companies should be able to offer them a written contract to stop them from getting poached.
  6. I agree that 'flashiness' shouldn't just be tied to the high-flying stat, like wrestlers known for jaw-dropping feats of strength(Jeff Cobb), or Johnny Saint style super-elaborate technical wrestlers.
  7. At the beginning of each save, I go through and shortlist everyone I have an interest in. Not just people I like, or want to sign, but people I kind of want to follow the careers of. It's exhausting. I also never, under any circumstances, give creative control in contracts. For those that imagine being their player character or imagine their in-game storylines while trying to fall asleep: I fall asleep imagining my character is retired and giving shoot interviews about the companies history.
  8. I'm using fictional characters and I'm in the state where I want to book a match for a PPV but can't figure out how to initiate or build the feud. The end goal match is Duke Nukem vs Ganondorf. As it stands, Dracula injured The Doomslayer, then eliminated Duke from a tournament. The Doomslayer "came back early" from injury and attacked Dracula, management won't sanction a singles match due to The Doomslayer's injury, leading to a tag match between Duke & The Doomslayer and Dracula and Ganon. After this match, The Doomslayer and Dracula will continue their feud, and I can't figure out how to spin Ganon and Duke out into their own feud.

He was going to chase the tag titles (as in Story the Outsiders "injured" Rick and took the belts from him) ... do I need to almost write the horsemen angle off and send Scott on vacation to heal or let him wrestle poorly or replace him.....<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> in the story, I'm pushing Flair back to chasing the World title ... so he can make that chase without the Horsemen, and DDP is fine by himself</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You can keep Steiner in the Horsemen, just don't have him wrestle much, and when he does, have it be in 6 or 8 man tags. He can be involved in angles, and run-ins and stuff, and still feel like a contributing member of the faction while still minimizing his in-ring time. Heck, you can make an angle of it and have him go around in a neck brace for sympathy, then the nWo can get mad heat for taking it off when they beat him down.</p>
  10. I've found myself doing the same thing in my 2001(now in 2004) WCW save, adding a new player for WWE and TNA to keep their rosters updated.
  11. Pick a retired wrestler with a history with WCW. Even better if it's an authority figure, or even a road agent will work. Call it the "<wrestler> Invitational Cup" Or if a prominent wrestler has died in your data, call it a "<wrestler> Memorial Cup."
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="crackerjack" data-cite="crackerjack" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>This is interesting! Are you running multiple companies, or everything under the WCW brand?<p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> They're all child companies. I kinda feel bad seeing all these companies go out of business, so if I can, I just buy them(except NWA Wildside, I started the scenario with them).</p><p> </p><p> I've developed a system for developing wrestlers through the different companies. They start in Wildside until they hit the end of their development growth, then they're sent to either Michinoku Pro or ARSION until either their contract is up, or I have a need for them on the main roster. Finally, I have them on a PPA contract for a year, hoping they'll get bookings in Japan to get them more experience than they would working my undercard.</p><p> </p><p> I've also started sending midcarders I don't have plans for to Michinoku Pro for a tour to mix things up.</p><p> I don't really use UPW, since they only run 1 show a month.</p>
  13. Keep things regional. Don't hire anyone who works for a company east of Texas or north of the Mason Dixon Line, or anyone unemployed based those areas. I think this means the North East, Tri State, Mid Atlantic, South East, and Mid-West areas. And no Japanese workers who don't already work in Mexico or the US. That should limit your hiring pool, and keep things thematic. Maybe relax the limitations once you get to Cult. I dunno, man. It's your game, do what makes you happy.

I'm only in October 2003, but I too have been blessed with a Ric Flair that went a long time before going into time decline. Hell, he's actually gotten a little better since the game started. He's one of the best workers in the world, and since Rock and Austin left, he's been the most popular. I look forward to him and Bryan Danielson main eventing Superbrawl XVI in a 60-minute draw.</p>

  17. <p>So, there's a couple ways you can go with a gambler character:</p><p> 1) The traditional rout: Have him just be a regular wrestler that throws in gambling metaphors and terminology into his promos.</p><p> 2)Make It Interesting: You can have him ask his opponents to put some kind of a wager on each of his matches. Could be straight cash, could be goods and services, a date with his opponent's valet, whatever.</p><p> 3) The House Always Wins: He has a valued personal possession, could be lucky dice, a fine cap, a fiddle made of gold, whatever, then he places this on the line in every match, then cheats 2 win and/or uses shady tactics to get his opponents disqualified/counted out. A good source of inspiration for these tactics would be Toru Yano vs Michael Elgin, and Minoru Suzuki from this year's G1 tournament.</p>
  18. <p>There's a few ways you could go. I mean, first off, Hogan doesn't really need the US title. But, you could have DDP win the title at the October show, or maybe even Survivor Series, depending on how you want to draw it out, Slaughter wins the belt back at the Rumble, drops it to Yoko at Mania, then Hogan at Summerslam.</p><p> </p><p> Or, have Yoko win the title at the October show, but do it via manager interference or something(salt in the eyes) to keep him strong(or just straight job him. It's your game), then have Yoko and Hogan do their thing while Slaughter moves on to face DDP without the title.</p><p> </p><p> Or, have Slaughter/Yoko end in a DQ or other non-finish, have Yoko lead a Japanese, or "Japanese" team, against a Hogan team at Survivor Series, have Yoko not only win, but "injure" Hogan for the winter, then comes back at the Rumble swearing vengeance For America to set up a Mania match. This one might be too far outside of your current plans, but I'm just throwing stuff out there.</p>
  19. <p>Is DDP going to be a heel or face?</p><p> If he's gonna be a heel, yeah, beating Slaughter on his debut is a way to go. If he's a face,</p><p> have Yokozuna beat Slaughter, <em>then</em> after Yokozuna has a couple defenses to establish himself, have DDP beat Yokozuna. For America.</p><p> </p><p> Bonus points if you do it on a regular TV show with no buildup, like DDP was just another jobber for Yoko to crush and then ~BANG!~</p>
  20. You can totally do a Face-Goth angle. Like The Crow or, um... Nico Minoru, I guess. It's too early in the morning for me to come up with good examples. I like those ideas, though. Goth Kidman, 'cuz why not. Paul London as his protege. And Bryan Clark brought in later to even things out until his unexpected though inevitable betrayal. I'm dumb though and just realized I need to add someone to Daniels stable to even things out. I'll have to dig through my game to find someone to repackage/bring up from development.
  21. <p>OK, so, Vampiro. It's WCW, 2003. At the start of the game, 2001, Vampiro formed and led a faction called The Darkness, of Christopher Daniels, Abyss, Yoshihiro Tajiri, and Jim Mitchell. Towards the end of 2002, Daniels usurped leadership of The Darkness, turning Vampiro face. Vampiro became, kinda like a replacement for Sting(since time decline has taken a bat to his abilities in this game), more like The Crow, kinda based on his real-life work as a Guardian Angel.</p><p> </p><p> So, I want to do a factional feud with Vampiro and three other guys vs Daniels, Abyss, and Tajiri.</p><p> </p><p> The obvious answer is three upper-midcard faces that have been kinda aimlessly floundering- Kidman, Bryan Clark, and Chuck Palumbo. What kind of faction should I build around face-Vampiro, and if I use Kidman, Clark, and Palumbo, how could I re-invent them to fit?</p><p> </p><p> Other member possibilities:</p><p> Paul London: He's recently debut, but he's gained overness rapidly, even without a coherent push.</p><p> Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin: They've been around the undercard for a while, and are still trying to establish themselves within the tag team division.</p><p> Yoshihiro Takayama: I brought him in in late 2001 to feud with Rhino over the US title. As a freelancer, he's been bouncing around Japan since then and is currently a jobber in the WWE. I been kinda looking for a reason to bring him back for a spell.</p><p> </p><p> So, how should I do this?</p>
  22. <p>That's brilliant. I can see an entire career trajectory laid out for Ron Simmons. Have him team with Ahmed Johnson in 1997 and call it Doom 64. Get some guys in 2004 that are kinda like Ron Simmons and Butch Reed, but not really, and call them Doom 3. Finally, in 2016 have Ron Simmons return as a manager for a team consisting of some of the best guys you can find and just call them D00M.</p><p> </p><p> Anyways. What's going on in my game, you ask? Man, I don't even know anymore. It's 2003 WCW and Vampiro just won the world championship at Slamboree and even I don't know what I was thinking when I thought of that. It's fine, though, I'll just have him drop the title to Eddie Guererro at The Bash(The great one, not the beach one). I'm thinking about bringing back WAR GAMES, but I don't really have 2 main-event level stables and don't know if 2 midcard stables can carry it. I mean, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Low-Ki and Caprice Coleman vs Bryan Danielson, Keiji Sakoda, Kasumi Utsuda, and Masato Tanaka isn't exactly The Horsemen vs The Dream Team... Then again it's better than the nWo vs the other nWo vs the oWn. Lastly after over 2 years in development, it's apparently finally SAPP TIME.</p>
  23. <p>Masahiro Chono has led many a faction in his time. Chono-Gun is a fine name, but may I suggest Kuro-Gun. Black Army, derived from Chono's nickname, Black Charisma, and the BLACK faction he lead in Japan around this same time. </p><p> Alternatively, you can get more poetic and go with Hachigatsu-Gun, August Army, for Chono's nickname Mr August from his numerous G1 victories.</p><p> </p><p> Now, since I still have Google Translate open, for Joe and Suzuki - Kodokuna Senshi. Lonely Warriors, taken from the lyrics of Minoru Suzuki's theme song. Though what I would do, to put over their no-nonsense, no frills, just two guys who want to inflict pain and suffering gimmick, is just call them Samoa Joe & Minoru Suzuki. Especially since it's just going to be a temporary thing.</p>
  24. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41193" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div> Russo has owned WCW since January of 2000 and is in the middle of slowly winning the monday night wars in this save.</div></blockquote><p> Truly, the most darkest of timelines.</p><p> </p><p> But yeah, I'd just fire him anyway. </p><p> Though if you're trying to be historically accurate, the Most WCW solution would be to just let him sit at home, unused, collecting a sweet paycheck until his contract runs out.</p>
  25. I need a name for a 2003 era stable consisting of Samoa Joe, Low-Ki, and Caprice Coleman that's not as dumb as the "Beat-Down Clan."
